ReplyDeleteI saw the movie this past Sunday in Miami, FL. Beautiful movie and I agree with you Goz...totally tasteful. This scene was heart breaking. I loved the entire movie and I want to own it on DVD. Their scenes together were gorgeous and Rob looked insanely beautiful. Javier is also very good looking and they played off each other very well. I was extremely proud of them and of Rob especially because his acting here is fantastic IMHO.

I was expecting something more steamy because so much has been said about it, that I was expecting something very graphic, that was all I could suppose, from the reports making such a big deal of “first sex scene” for Rob, but I´m totally surprise.. in a good way; this is a very intense scene, really well acted, you can see so much vulnerability in both actors, specially Rob, I can imagine now why it was so complicated, it is not only the nature of the scene they were playing but the emotions into it.
And I also must admit that if there is a scene that involves Rob kissing, no matter if it is man or woman that is just simply hot!!... even though the way Dali reacted toward the end of the clip because of the situation… made me realize, this is Dali, not Rob.. so it mixed sadness into the hotness feeling that one have while watching it.

When I first read about the movie and the sex scenes I was unsure if I wanted to see this, but the more I read about it, the more clips and pics I have seen, and now this clip too, I cannot wait. It really does seem like a great movie and how refreshing it is to see something that can be HOT and steamy without being you know "speculative and graphic" if you know what I mean. I may blush and giggle like a schoolgirl watching this but to be honest, it is only cos I wish I was Rob's costar..lmao!

i personally admire him for having the courage to take on a role as risky and difficult as this one

I have to give props to both of these guys for taking on such emotional roles, and for having the guts to get over their fears and not worry about stereotypes and all that. I can definitely see what Rob means about the nervousness coming thru and working for the scene. It was very believable and tastefully done.

ReplyDelete1. This was so beautifully done! I commend the actors and the director. It had sweeping romance, fear, and submission in it.
2. How sad for Dali. From this clip, he obviously loved and had extreme passion for Lorca and kept denying himself love, all because he was afraid.
Lorca is obviously doing the seducing here, and it must have been heartbreaking to be on the receiving end of Dali's rejection.
I'm shocked...but this was just so beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI actually found this scene sort of awkward and sad more than hot. Not because Rob isn't hot; heck they're both hot. But Rob actually did a great job of portraying how traumatizing and confusing Dail's feelings are for Lorca, and he seems more freaked out than turned on in the end. I don't think Rob had to act too much there, since he said his awkwardness and nervousness really worked for the scene.
I think I'd better go watch it again before any further anylizing. ;)

He is just acting for money and because he loves to act not because he likes to kiss mens. I know is weird to see him like an homosexual but you got to understand Salvador Dali's thinking for understanding the movie. You just have to see it this way Robert Pattinson is not just a hot guy he is an great actor for doing rolls like this cause its not easy to pretend to make a sex scene with your same gender.

ReplyDeleteRob said the sex scenes were difficult to do because the room was full with giggeling Spanish technicians (about 20 of them). Usually you film intimate scenes like that with a minimum of people to make it easier for the actors.

He did say it was hard to film this scene. It was awkward trying to act like you are going to do it doggy style and have a nervous breakdown while doing it doggy style along with the people giggling on set.

Rob is soooo beautiful and vulnerable, that this scene is excrutiatingly poignant. I have so much more respect for his acting after seeing this. So hot, so sweet, so perfect. I want to see the movie NOW!!! But it is not scheduled in Austin--yet. We are trying....
