    I don't recall a rip in the shirt in the story, and I am wondering if he tore it in anguish of hearing that Bella was dead, or if he tried to stab himself, ala romeo and juliet, and of course it didn't work. Anyone know for certain? or have any ideas/insights?

    Didn't SM's version of Rosalie's call to Edward have him all filthy and holed up in a crappy attick or something? He didn't care about anything. Probably shows his lack of caring about anything after he left Bella?

    I think the deal is that he left and has never changed his outfit since the party (kinda gross, I know!) so after all this time and anguish his clothes are all worn and ripped up...and God bless the ripped blue shirt, I love it!!

    I read that Chris said because Edward has been in the same clothes for 7 months, they made them all thread bare, torn, dirty..so that's why the tears...
