Round 4 was the closest one yet! Video 5 won by only a couple of votes. Thank to everyone that watched, voted an a special thanks to everyone that put the time and effort and got us all in holiday spirit :)

ReplyDeleteBecause of the music ( different ) but I like number two and number four too. I like the music version of Blue Christmas on number five. Congratulations for all!!!
At first I thought #1 was sacreligious, but as I watched, I realized it was very sweet, and even though it is not my religious tradition, I appreciate the sentiment and how it is all incorporated.

I vote for # 3, great video all around! The song, the editing. Loved Rob's red clothes in the VF shot, but I think my favorite thing was the letter! My second choice was #1, I loved the ones of Rob performing! All were great!
ReplyDeleteTechnoklutz that I am, it took me ages to make a video and, in the end, Youtube wouldn't allow the sound because of music ownership, but it doesn't make sense without the music. ReplyDeleteI remember when Jim Morrison passed away; I was a young teen with my friends and we loved listening to the Doors, and although he was old to us (27--gasp--almost 30!), we knew that was too young to die. Even then, it sobered us into realizing that all the stuff he was doing and we didn't even know half of it) was not good for him, and not good for us to even contemplate.

As for the menorah and the 'pretty'-- the lights of the menorah are for miracles, and Rob is a bit of a modern day miracle, so beautiful and talented and charming, such presence, and, as you say, has (unconsciously) brought such interesting diverse people together worldwide at least in admiration of himself!

ReplyDeleteThough #3 had some amazing photoshop works and the coolest song choice.
All videos are truly amazing so I don't think there is a real winner in this contest and I'm sure most of the people here vote at random.
So please, people who didn't win, don't take it personal - you're all the best! I can't think of even one video that I didn't like or was badly done.

I am in a weird position of only working part time now, and am writing a novel and waiting for children's books to be published, so I have what to create, just using it up here!

Thats wonderful solas! to answer your question...I started making these videos about a yr ago..no training...just wanted as you say to make appear on video what my dreams are ...i started with windows movie maker but i now use my MUSIC MAKER 14 which is more complicated but i can make a video in 3-4 hrs instead of 6-8 as before...never used one true media..though but yea...it has been wonderful to learn all these programs and i found that my creativity increased with new ideas because of it! and thanks to Rob ofcourse..lol

ReplyDeleteJenn--thanks; I am particularly interested in Musicmaker 14, because back in the day, I wrote and performed songs, and have them on cassettes, which aren't too great, and having regained my voice (mostly) after having been basically, and by dint of warped vocal chords, mute for a long time, I am back to singing and would like to record better, and get back to songwriting. I was going to look for better tape recorders, or to see if there is such thing as CD recorder, where I can record myself onto CD rather than tape. Is this program 'musicmaker' good for literally making music, or only videos?
Solas= music maker 14 is mostly a music making program..the video aspect is a perk. it is perfect for what you want to do!:) just click in a mic and record yourself & then you can even change your voice and everything! it is also integrated with youtube! :) I love it! I am a poet at heart..for the past yr i have been writing poems for Rob..but i would love to write songs but dont really know how to get started ...I made some music videos to my poetry if you want to see them sometime :)

This is such a rippling effect, or maybe butterfly effect, that Rob has started-- there is himself, and his fans, and we as fans talk, and learn and create and it goes on and on... Such a wonder! Err--where does the mic go? Does it come with the program? Is it something I can get for the computer, an accessory like earphones? (Technoklutz, remember?)

ReplyDeletesolas...you just buy a mic for your computer ...I really havent done anything musically with the program yet..but i know it has everything you need to make a song..but it is complicated for me..but a musician can probably figure out how to use it better than I can..lol..Im the type to buy software and not read the directions..i just stick it in and play with the features as I discover them.:)
