Who's the new Spider-Man? Robert Pattinson, Chace Crawford or Kellan Lutz?
With the latest news about "Spider-Man 4" biting the dust, comes a huge vacancy in the Hollywood film franchise world. Sam Raimi is gone. So are the franchise's stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.
Sony has tweeted the depressing deets on their Twitter site. But let's not wallow in this setback. Let's help the studio along and start rebuilding with the lead role.
Which hot young actor should be the new Spider-Man?
How about "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson, or his vampire costar Kellan Lutz? Maybe "Gossip Girl" hottie Chace Crawford? Or budding film star Zac Efron?
Or someone else like Lucas Till, Nick Jonas, Beau Mirchoff, Charles Carver, Nico Tortorella, Jared Padalecki, Channing Tatum, Tristan Wilds, Dustin Milligan, Ed Westwick (maybe as a villain), Matt Lanter or Josh Henderson?
We can even let Taylor Lautner train them. Dude knows a little something about adding muscle to his career, having bulked up for "New Moon" and recently signed to play superhero "Max Steel."
Spiderman will take a while to retool, according to the studio so don't expect a film any time soon.
In the meantime, you'll have to make do with Julie Taymor's Broadway version, which will star Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming (no, not as Spidey).

ReplyDeleteITA ADM & RPL. That's the ONLY reason to make this movie...a desperate attempt to milk it for more money. I think Batman is the only franchise that can replace the entire cast, make movies out of order, change key points, and still be thought of as good movies.

I think Rob, Kellan and Chase are all too pretty. Obsolutely LOVE James McAvoy, but he's too old.
This may seem out of left field, but I think the guy from Twilight, Mike Welsh (aka Mike Newton), would be perfect. He's got the acting chops, he looks young and innocent, plus he's not too gorgeous, and I think he could do the stunts.

ReplyDeleteIt's too recent right now. It's hard to replace Tobey Maguire right now, since so many know and associate him with Spiderman. Also the first two Spiderman movies were completely and totally awesome. It might have been possible if they weren't good.

I love the Harry Potter books and I enjoy the movies as well. The first 2 were more for children, but as they progressed, and not just for the ages of the characters, they progressed in depth and darkness.

ReplyDeleteI love the HP books & have read them all more times than I have read the Twilight books. JK Rowling is a MUCH better writer than SM, there is absolutely no comparison. My favorite scene in all the books is in the Deathly Hallows, it's when **SPOILER ALERT JUST IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T READ IT**
Percy comes back. I wish it was going to be in the movie, but since they haven't been following the Percy storyline in any of the movies, I'm sure it won't be.
