From Gossip Cop
A lot of people asked us whether Robert Pattinson would attend tomorrow’s People’s Choice Awards, the first big Hollywood gathering of 2010.
Gossip Cop has learned that, because of work commitments, Pattinson will NOT be at the show.
Pattinson has been nominated in the “Favorite Movie Actor” category.
The People’s Choice Awards, hosted at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live by Queen Latifah, air tomorrow on CBS.
It would have been cool to see him there. But it's better that he stays in London and spend more time with his family.

That must mean that he didn't win - those shows are rigged - they tell the people that are winners in advance and they are the ones who are there to accept the award. Either that or he may give a remote acceptance speech - I hope that is the case and they don't just say "Robert is not able to be here and we accept this on his behalf"

RPL: I started to like him in MatchPoint and then really liked him The Tudors because in the beginning he wasn't so bad and was very passionate, but then his character started to be such an ass & JRM is such a great actor (IMO) that I can now only see him as Henry...August Rush was sooo good & he sang good in it too.

Think he'll be busy with pre-production soon if BA is starting early Feb. Seems they are filming in London and Budapest, but Donnellan's Macbeth opens February in Paris, so thought they might be doing some filming there too. Don't think he'll be at Sundance for same reasons he won't be at PC Awards. Looking forward to seeing Mr. Duroy, esq.

ReplyDelete@Solas: Rob wasn’t the first actor attached to this project, but Donnellan and his partner were already in place. I believe Susie Figgis is the casting director so she probably had as much to do with Rob’s getting involved as anyone, and the producers, but obviously the director would have approval. I think, for Rob, the script/book came first, and I honestly don’t know whether Declan directing had any bearing on his choosing the project. I would hope so. It’s an opportunity to work with an amazing theatre director. I know it doesn’t follow he’ll be a great film director, but his emphasis is on actors, so that can only be good for Rob.
@Shani & Emily: I'd like him to be at Sundance - but I guess we'll have to settle for trying to get any news of those costume fittings...lol
I'll be surprised if he's able to go to Sundance, but ya never know! He seems to surprise us once in a while!!!

Ana - Sundance is the film festival held in Park City, Utah. It's about 30 min. northeast of Salt Lake. I think it was started by Robert Redford years ago. This year it goes from Jan. 21-31st.

ReplyDeletemy husband (who was my bf back in 1997) used to work for the local radio station and one year Dave and Tim came to my college for a concert-it was the second time they'd been here so this time the demand for tickets was insane, so much so that they held a lottery for tickets amongst the students. DH got a ticket through the station, and since he is very much so NOT a DMB fan, I asked him to please let me go in his place if I didn't win a ticket at school. He said that he didn't think he could let me because "he should go and represent the station." I didn't win a ticket, begged and pleaded, but still he wouldn't give me the ticket.
He went to the concert and I went out with my friends, totally pissed off and proceded to get drunk. Then he showed up 3 hours later (a good hour after I expected him to get there) says that all Dave did was tell stories and he was bored, he left early and by the way, no one even knew he was there, I could have gone.
I STILL haven't gotten over it.
emily - i thought the same thing but i didn't want to mention the K word after the crazy thread today LOL. because she has some movies to be shown there.

4 years ago @ one of the gorge shows, we started drinking at 10:00am, but the time Dave hit the stage at 8:00pm, I was passed out on the blanket & slept through the whole show... What a loser!

Ana, I wanted to see them but was not going to go. I had a very old car and the concert was 2 hours away. My brother begged. So, I took him. He was in charge of getting directions, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe car over heated on the way. We finally get to the city and can't find the place. We got lost. Finally, found it. Loved the concert. Didn't know how to get home, cause we did not know how we got there. I was pissed.
We still crack up about that trip.
LOL Ana! I think she went with her dad last year. I imagine she'll go again since "The Runaways" and "Welcome to the Riley's" are both being shown. I think Sundance is pretty low key as far as fan encounters go but some people know no bounds. I think I would take it very personally if she had an awful experience while here.
