If this had happened once or twice I wouldn't find it fishy, but it ALWAYS happens that is NOT normal. And that's all I'm saying.

People don't seem to be bothering them, they are giving them their space, and it sounds like people aren't even recognizing Kristen half the time. DM- I think you sorta have to see where they are being found in London. From most accounts, they are going to little indie revue places and dive pubs, places where you aren't going to be getting TWilight fans or paps hanging around already.
ReplyDeleteRobert is very famous nonetheless, while Kristen is not as high profile or distinguished celebrity wise. Just from reading about the sightings on a twilight site, it sounds like Robert is consistently recognized and tweeted about, and only half of the tweets seem to realize kristen is with him at some point.
I would think it was fishy only if the tweets were coming from weird accounts. But you've got like EsquireUK tweeting this stuff, not some twihard. I just don't think she's as recognizable or as popular as Robert.'
As for the whole under 18 thing, wow, that's deep.
ReplyDeleteParents should have set some controls on say, their tweens pc site access. (We did this for both our boys at the appropriate time---and we told them this.) Knowing also that they can still access adult content elsewhere. This is where you share knowledge with your children that it is a) ok to NOT view things if they make you uncomfortable---just because everyone else is...spiel and b) let them know if they're unsure about something, to ask!
One of THE most important things is that we all have freedom to both view AND deny something. If there's a story out there with a theme that makes me angry/depressed/sick, then I don't read it. See how easy that is? Just like I don't buy lima beans at the store. They're yucky to me. Doesn't mean I want the grocery store to not stock lima beans for everyone else.

(Some people from this blog had said some unkind words about myself at more than one point). I don't know quite what is going on, as the ones I have in favourite places are still here for me to enjoy. As long as stories are labeled as adult, or sexually explicit, I don't see the reason to limit, unless the site owners themselves find it repulsive. But then, why would they have allowed it until now? perhaps it is diffiult for parents of teen Twilight fans to block every site? or perhaps there was a link to the ff from a permissible Twilight site>?
In any case, as long as you have access to what you enjoy, I supposed it works out.

@solas. very true, but i still think they will try. at least rosie o'donnell isnt there. i was sick a about 4 years ago and missed about 3.5 weeks of school. i watched the view everyday and learned to dislike it very much because of how they treated their guests will little or no respect.

With Rob's wit, the show could be like Craig's Sandra Bullock show where everyone was in tears and holding sides. They were at my house anyway. I agree, it would be better than "the View" used to watch it when Rosie was on, but quit now. Its the Elizabeth show now. Don't much care for her at all.

ReplyDeletemy friend wants to work in journalism and had an awesome internship at EW from about may or april of last year (ive mentioned this before several times) until the end of august. She was flown allover the place and met with the editors, actors and musicians and all that jazz. She told be specifically that robsten was just a ploy. Now bear in mind her internship ended right after the KOL pics were released an she still said it was a ploy.
I mean that was almost 6 months ago that her internship ended and a lot has happened since then. I didn't believe in it until the pics from august where she was seen laving his hotel room in the same clothes as the day before in august. then i fully believed it, but she still thinks otherwise
It's funny because most of the people who believe they are a couple are fans of either rob, kristen or both. the rest of the population doesn't think they are together and think its a ploy.
I mean i think they are together. i don't know how serious they are, but at the same time they might now be. the only people that know are those in the inner circle. i'm sitting in my room hiding out from 2ft of snow. i don't know jack. i know as far as perception and information that i find will allow.
Lucky girl. Rob is always so affectionate with his fans, takes photographs, no matter who people are. He is always a gentleman, polite. His behavior only shows how he is good-tempered, balanced and unique. What I love most in him is that he is not hidding himself from fans. He is a normal guy who happens to be an actor, only this.

@Solas - ITA. It fits their MO. Like for NM premiere in NY last November and after when they stayed in NY until that flight to LA... They went out to lots of dinners and had drinks at lots of bars, but you never saw Kristin. It was always Rob, and from what I learned (grain of salt and all), Rob seems to divert the attention by walking out the front of say, a restaurant and KStew slips out the back. I like that the does that for her.

Gwen--I agree pretty much that no one has the right to tell you what to read or right, and I hope that you still may, if the stories were just moved. On the other hand, you know that I find some things totally appalling, and i also have the right to read and see what I want. That is why I feel having the ff rated so people know ahead of time is a good idea, although teens might see the rating and deliberately go that way anyway.

Also, ditto on finding some appalling stuff out there---totally admit to running away from those.
One of the non-themed based "criticisms" I have is actually non-editing. Misspelled words, bad grammar, the over-usage of certain words (EP anyone?). I don't often talk like a sailor, so things like that stand out. Still, I read it... LOL. See, choices?

ReplyDelete@Gwen most of the stories I read are rated M and have lemons, but they are realistic. I've read stories where I was about 3-4 chapters in and then the lemons were just degrading and terrible, but if that's what people are into then that is fine by me. I just click the X box at the top of my screen. If people don't like what they read they have the option to opt out of it. I just hate it because there are some really good stories getting yanked because it offends someone's ideals.

ReplyDeleteI came across a stroy that was so disturbing once. I really was tempted to report it and I have a high tolerance for that sort of thing. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to have a creative outlet, but the stuff this person was writing was downright stomach-churn worthy.
I am a pretty morbid person and even my tolerance for that wasn't holding out.
OT - But I guess JF was on Oprah today and he talked about Rob and did his Robert is Bothered impression and said he will (Rob) be on the 1-year anniversary show, and he (Jimmy) is looking forward to it. We get Oprah two times a day in Chicago, so it was on this morning at 9AM.

ReplyDelete@StephsLegit: I too think it's a ploy. I have said before that my friend who worked on the set of Eclipse said Robsten is a ploy. And she said this in Aug. and again in Oct. She saw them all the time on set everyday. Said they were just great friends...very obvious. But also that they were all told not to talk about anything. They had to keep up this "facade". It's all PR to sell the movies and keep up the hype...Robsten is the moneymaker. And people say "why would Rob and KS do this..blah blah blah...well, they are working for Summit..they do what their management teams ask them to do..its all part of the plan. Robsten will fizzle after the Breaking Dawn movies come out...just watch. I don't need any hate here....this is just what I know.

And one of my favorite FF just updated after months of no updates. It's called "The Vampire in the Basement". The reviews are now over 7000 since the authors last update so long ago. I just read the new update yesterday and she still has her mojo. So if anyone wants to read a fantastic vampire story that has an Edward you want to cuddle and fiercely protect. This is your story. Be in mind that the only lemon so far after 23 chapters is B&E kissing. But in this story the danger outweighs the lemons.

ReplyDeleteI actually don't think its a ploy. My friend who worked for EW and got inside info did. Sometimes I don't know what to believe. I do know for a fact that in the beginning of May Kristen and MA were on and off, but still together so anything that did happen is pretty much from the end of may onward.
There are times I doubt it especially when no one seems to be able to catch the elusive Kristen sneaking out the back. The paps know these tricks and have caught her doing so so many times so why is it now that its different? I also think that if they really wanted to avoid attention and not make it a PR thing then why get caught leaving together when you can leave separately and regroup later?
I can sit here and talk everyone ear off on why they are together and reasons why it might be a ploy. Realistically I think they are together, but also use the PR to their advantage. Again, I may not be right and neither will anyone else on this blog. the only people who know are probably close friends, family.

I mean, I still believe they are not together...I know there is sooo much evidence that they are..but if you really look at things...there's also sooo much evidence that they aren't. About the hotel sneaking...that night she spent at the hotel (Marmont?) and was caught sneaking out...his friends Bobby Long and Sam and all of them were staying there too. There were pics of them there at the hotel. She seems to like hanging with the Brit pack! haha! And the one of them on the balcony together. That was VERY fishy. He walked out so the paps could see them, and then she did. It was very obvious that was a stunt. The Charlie Hotel one? They did not know the paps were filming them, and when they said goodbye, it was a wave like you would to a friend...no kiss, hug or anything. They do not act like a couple at all. Besides, I believe my friend. Why would she lie about this? And I also think that all these supposed recent sightings, kissings, cuddlings, etc. is total damage control to clean up the mess created from his Details comments. It's so very obvious to me....but...who knows...if I'm proven wrong...then GREAT! Go Rob and KS! LOL! And I do respect your opinion Steph!

ReplyDeleteI personally do not like Kristen so by me defending that they are together please don't misinterpret it as pro-robsten.
in my own eyes I really hope they aren't and I know I am going to get backlash, but that is my own opinion. BUT i do think they are together based on facts. When I used to hang out with my ex I hung out with his friends even without him. I drove 2 hours to watch his friends gig once as well without the ex. I didn't like his friend in that way, but I really wanted to know who the people were surrounding his life and then I eventually became friends with them as well.
I know Britpack seems to be prevalent, but they seem to be her friends too.
It's hard to tell if they are or aren't. Everything is so obscured and there is always an explanation for everything, but realistically. If there wasn't a single article ever printed about them and no one debated are they or aren't they and you just simply layed out facts like: he was with her then and they did this, she left the hotel room in the same clothes, heads close together at KOL, hand holding pics, leaving together after a party, politician seen them kissing, young fan saw them together on their off time celebrating NYE together. If you gather all of this with no back story and these were just average people with someone just spitting facts about their lives then what conclusion would you come to? I think that given evidence ---even though there is an alternative hypothesis---i think they are together.
Like I said not a robsten fan. I too know people who have claimed they aren't together and a big part of me hopes they aren't from both a jealous perspective and a career perspective. I don't want them together so naturally you would think I would try to disprove the theory, but my intuition tells me they are. It's the only thing i have to rely on. It's not perfect and i may be wrong, but my intuition is the closest thing i have to fact in my life.
BTW i would like to hear more theories about how you think they aren't. I like all perspective including people who love them together and what not.
Colleen, I don't think most women would fly 6000 miles to be with a friend for NYE. Maybe you would but most wouldn't. But all I was really saying was that I don't think it was a PR stunt. I find it hard to believe that Rob, who could have anyone he wants, would agree to a pimp a relationship for PR as LovesRob seems to think. That's just my opinion and of course I could be wrong.

even if your friend worked on the eclipse set. they are in a professional environment and with a lot of people on set with them at all times (camera crews, lighting, extra's, etc) if rob and kris made one false move there cover would have been blown and they know this. also anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows that you dont always hold hands/ hug and kiss 24/7 sometimes you just hang out and if your at work then whats what you do. But i do hope your friends is right..

It's not a bad thing that she might not have a lot of friends. she is an actress so she needs trustworthy friends and she was a child actor who was home schooled so i am willing to bet she didnt interact with a lot of people her age. She also has the money to do so and time off to do so as well.
Hell, I am have friends who live abroad and if I had to time off to do I would fly out to see them in a heartbeat.. He has the same life and he seems trustworthy so why not.

I worked under and HR rep and she spoke to be about quid pro quo stuff in tis environment. she said off handedly that she "hates signing checks for people who only got a raise becaus they were boinking the boss". No one saw anything go on, but people just "knew" something was going on.

My mom called and just told me NY is getting another round of snow tonight. I went to a site that said we are due for another half a foot.

If he was smart he would avoid jfk altogether and fly into newark airport in new jersey. i could never understand why people fly into jfk when they visit nyc. newark is about 20 minutes closer and NJ knows how to handle snow.
Well, Steph--I live in NJ and I don't like Newark airport as much as JFK, and I get lost more often with Newark, but then i get lost going out of a driveway. We ahve been having ongoing snow since yesterday; I think we have a foot of snow by now, and I don't know when it will end although the sky looks like it is clearing now. I have 3 herniated discs and cannot dig my car out and my kids are spread out across the planet. The apartment complex super does shovel the walks, but the street here is often not plowed and when it is, they mound up the snow to block the cars.

Didn't you post somewhere that Robsten is fiction because Kristen was sleeping with Jackson on the NM set? Seems too coincidental that two different people would be posting about their Eclipse set friend on the same day. Which, BTW, how did your friend escape from paying penalities for breaking the confidentiality agreement everyone on set is forced to sign?
Not sure why it is so important to you to prove that they are fiction. But you should relax. If they aren't together time will tell. I'm not a shipper, but a fan of each individually. I think the evidence points to them being in a relationship. But to spend time trying to prove they are or aren't is just tedious. Doesn't matter to me one way or another all that much. What does bother me is when fans of either of them start bashing the other and making up stories about who did or was sleeping with who. Especially when it is not true. At the least, they are very good friends and probably would not want to read some of the stuff people that call themselves fans say about their friends.

Aside from the fact that I don't like the drive, I had some obnoxious experiences there, really only one good memory and even that was tinged with sadness-- my son was in army and inlockdown for 9-11 and I didn't know when I would see him again. SUddenly got call during that week, when no flghts were going out, to pick my injured boy up at Newark. When I got there, police descnded on me; the place was a ghost town and apparently for only military use at that moment. So I have in my mind this picture of an abandoned airport, police all over the place, and my injured child (Thank G-d not bad; just dislocated shoulder from rushing with shoulder missile launcher), looking very vulnerable for all his 6'2 muscular demeanor, waiting for mom.

ReplyDeleteLOL..I agree. I could totally see Kristen with Jackson. They both seem a little offbeat and seem to do their own thing. But I don't think it's true. JMO, but I think she was still with the Will and Grace guy during NM. Regardless, I just think its tacky to post stuff like that just to discredit the possibility that Rob and Kristen are together now. That's what I was trying to say. Maybe not very well.
I normally live in Manhattan, but I am at my parents home in Brooklyn. The snow is flurrying now and I heard a few planes take off. I am sure they are sending planes out. I just don't think they should be sending planes in. Like you said the snow isn't supposed to stop until tomorrow morning as we only live about an hour away from each other. My mom has been watching the news all day and she told me we are expecting another few inches. Some websites like accuweather say an additional inch and other like weather bug anticipate another 5-6 inches. I mean I like snow for selfish reasons because my university closes lol, but it really is dangerous and there about 19-20 inches where I am now
ReplyDelete@solas i am sorry to hear about your son during the events of 9/11. I think anyone in the tri-state area was heavily affected by that day (not that others werent, but ny, nj, and ct have a lot of commuters going into manhattan). I was 13 and I was at my friends house and I had to wait until 2am for my dad to come home and my friends dad's plane landed in newfoundland, canada because no planes were allowed to land domestically. It was a scary day no wonder why airports are a sore subject for you. I am relieved to hear that your son was okay and tell him thank you for all he is doing for our country. Not a lot of people appreciate the soldiers. I am involved in a sorority at my school and we adopted a unit last year so its our little way of trying to help.
ReplyDeleteFrom the interviews I have seen with Kristen before things really got out of hand, and after she got a better handle on it, she is a lovely home-centered, family-centered girl, who likes to just retreat and read-- voraciously. She has a little tough demeanor most likely from having older brothers, but she likes to cook and bake, knit, etc. She also loves to sing and play the guitar and Rob says she is quite good. She reers to just dress very very casual, with tshirts, jeans, and layers when necessary. So, aside from the fact that Rob clearly was crazy about her and that she appears to adore him, I had always thought of her as just right for Rob. I don't think that is shipping or pushng the relationship, just observing and extrapolating as always. :-D
ReplyDeleteThanks steph. For sure they are not appreciated enough, although far more than soldiers of the Vietnam War were, when i was a child. Peopel cannot understand why he continues, even after his 3 years. Sometiems he does get discouraged. Yet whenver he leaves for another mission, he kisses me goodbye ( has to bend way down to his little 5'5 old lady of a mum!)and says--'I'm off the save the world!'
ReplyDeleteI remember the day very clearly. The sky was uncommonly bright and my favourite hue of blue, almsot torquoise. I was in the school psych office at my school, when a friend's husband called to put on the tv. The first plane hit, and I immediately said--Bin Laden. No one else knew what I was talking about. They were saying it was an accident. Until the second one hit. But esp with a son overseas, I keep up with events--and I knew.
Yea I was in school. I went to catholic school and the first tuesday of every month they took the religion class to church instead of doing a lesson. We left church (which is located across the street from my school) and one of my classmates pointed our the smoke in the distance. The principle told the school that there was a fire. Keep in mind I was in 7th grade in a school from grades pre-k-8th. you couldnt exactly make the real announcement. Kids were getting picked up and my school was a ghost town. Around 10:30 the priest told the 7th and 8th graders what happened. The part that scared me was that my father works on wall street so i knew he was in manhattan and there was no way to reach him. I was at my friend house until about 2 or 3 in the morning because my mom didnt want me to be home just in case the worst happened.
ReplyDeleteI was very little when JFK was assassinated, but I know for my older sisters' generation, that left a mark where everyone years later remembered clearly where they were when it happened. This is the big shock for ourselves.
