Unfortunately, the interview is not very good. I'm not going to sum everything up but the reporter (she's well-known here and she generally writes light, unsubstantial would-be funny stuff and books) says she went on a mission: to try to get Rob to bite her - and she repeatedly asks him to do so or drops a lots of hints about biting people, vampires etc. during the interview. **rolls eyes** At one moment she even says that Rob gets tired of her little game and gently asks her "if she would not prefer to speak about Remember me". She's trying to be funny and self-deprecating in her writing but (in my opinion) she rather fails... Anyway, she also says she saw a screening of RM which she dismisses in a few words - she says that it's slow and sad, that it's a love story between a moody rebel young guy with rich parents and a cop's daughter, that she nevertheless enjoyed it and that the end is riveting. True, she's apparently not allowed to reveal anything about the plot. In the end, she asks Rob what he would like to play for his next part and she suggests Dracula, and he answers "Oedipus". He says that "few people really know the character of Oedipus, and that it would be extraordinary to play him, because it involves love, action, tenderness and tragedy - the Oedipian legend encompasses just about everything". His answer clearly takes her aback. On the whole I think she was rather prejudiced when she went to interview him, and she probably thought she was going to meet some teenage hearthrob, but I guess she got quite a surprise... I'm a bit harsh on her, I admit, but I think she had a good opportunity to do something interesting and that she totally wasted it because she went for the celebrity thing, the rumours (she confirms that Rob does not smell... please...not that again?), the annoying vampire stuff and she generally behaves like a cougar - in a slightly creepy, bad way. There's a few unchecked facts too (she says that before Twilight Rob's scenes got "repeatedly cut out" when we know it only happened once in Vanity Fair). And when she first meets him for the press junket she says that he's got "bright chesnut-colored eyes"... oh dear I think she forgot her glasses on the Eurostar... I don't know how Rob can be so patient... I find interesting what Rob says in the end, he says that "that he hopes that the French will like the film and that he's pretty confident that RM will do well in France, because the RM team has have really tried to do something close to the French family dramas, plus the French have always been cool with me"
Did he say Oedipus? How can I love him more? She wanted to make fun of him and he made her look totally silly. That's my boy. If ever comes a day to listen to him reciting Oedipus at an ancient theater I will be fulfilled as a person.
@dina You're so right, I think she had decided not to take him seriously and to make fun of him, but in the end she was the one who ended looking a bit silly... I might be a little biased, as this woman has been writing for Elle for ages and I've never really liked her, but honestly her questions and her attitude are preposterous.
@Whylst, thanks. What a waste of Rob's time and disappointment to his fans. (Like the red plaid photo, however). I don't know how he manages to have the patience with some of these "journalists". I wonder if he'll ever just throw a Tyler boardroom smack down on them (hope that's not a spoiler?). Probably not, but wouldn't blame him. :))
@Why, she should have know better than interviewing him without having done her homework before. Noone messes with Rob. I am always amazed on how well educated this man is.

It's a pity because Elle has got a lot of media exposure and this could have been a good opportunity to talk about RM and promoting it. OK I'm a bit pissed off after reading it I think. Grr.
