Robert Pattinson Talks Tyler, Edward & Commitment

From VH1:
We caught up with Robert Pattinson on the Remember Me red carpet, and the actor gave us a rare glimpse into his super-private dating life. When asked by VH1’s Janell Snowden if he had any commitment problems in relationships, RPattz replied coyly, “None. At. All.”

Well, hey now. We’re just going to jump out on a limb here and assume he’s talking about his not-so-secret relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart, which is allegedly pretty serious behind the scenes. Though they’ve never officially come out as a couple, KStew walked the Remember Me red carpet which, in Hollywood, is like walking around with a t-shirt that says “Yes, I’m Dating The Hot Vampire From Twilight.” What with their recent rendezvous in London and her walking around in Rob’s t-shirt (er, so says some fan sites), it seems like she doesn’t have any commitment problems either. (Kate: I love how they get a whole article out of three little words)

Rob also talks about the most insane fan freak out moment from his short career and who he thinks makes a better boyfriend: Remember Me’s Tyler Haskins (Kate:Tyler who?) or the world’s most beloved immortal, Edward Cullen. Though clearly, commitment-loving Rob is the best of all. (Kate: Hell ya!)

  8. I don't think any of his comments in this type of setting can be taken seriously, or as a reflection of how he feels about something. He is clearly attempting to run off as the reporter tries to steer the conversation into his personal life and gives a totally flip answer that may be total sarcasm. IMO, this is what happened with is whole not-liking-children thing. He was being sarcastic and serious in the same bit. I think it is ridiculous that any news outfit would take this extemporaneous comment seriously or use it as the basis for a story.

He's so sarcastic at times, how could you know if was serious or actually say the exact opposite.

  20. I loved this interview. Interesting comparison between Edward and Tyler. Although I haven't had a chance to see Remember Me yet, I didn't see Edward as having commitment problems. His commitment to and love for Bella seems to me to be the heart of the story. Even when he left, he was doing it for her because he felt, no matter how misguided, that it was best for her. I love his "Not at all" because it rang true to me. It didn't sound like he was being sarcastic. It sounded to me genuine. I still think the whole keeping the relationship a secret was far more her idea than his. He has been pretty open about his regard for her from the start.

  21. Damn, why didn't they keep the tape rolling........was there more???????

That was adorable when he so emphatically said not at all!! Sounded to me like he really meant it.

He has said he was trying to find someone to "commit" to him in early interviews around Twilight - maybe he's found her.

do you think the heat from Rob's fans will cool when they finally realize he's taken???

  22. True Shari - Rob has said from the very beginning that Kristen was the reason he auditioned for Twilight, she's the greatest actress of her generation, he did the movie to be able kiss Kristen Stewart, ppfftt to the boyfriend, she totally showed him how to be Edward, and on and on.
