Last year, for the first time in the history of the MTV Movie Awards, we entrusted you with the task of selecting our nominees in categories like Best Fight, Best Kiss and Best WTF Moment. You didn't disappoint, delivering support to "Twilight," "Slumdog Millionaire" and a ton of other flicks in genres ranging from comic book flicks to rom-coms.
You did such a killer job that we're putting out the call again: We want you to choose the nominees for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards! The power of the Golden Popcorn is yours — starting right now. Voting in 13 categories — some classics, as well as a few brand-new ones — is set to begin Monday (March 29) at noon ET at MovieAwards.MTV.com. The MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
Joining familiar categories like Best Movie, Best Villain, and Best Male and Female Performance are three fresh categories: Global Superstar, Best Ass-Kicking Star and Best Scared-as-Sh-- Performance.
So what's going to happen this year? Will "New Moon" reprise the success of "Twilight," which nabbed seven nominations in 2009, including Best Movie and Best Kiss for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson? Will Best Ass-Kicking Star go to Hugh Jackman for his metallic-skeleton-assisted brawling in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," to Channing Tatum's freedom fighter in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," or to someone else entirely? Which Global Superstar — Johnny Depp? Angelina Jolie? — will be the first to take home this award?
These are the questions you'll be answering when the polls open. Voting will run through 6 p.m. ET on Friday, April 9. After the nominees are announced, voting for a winner in each category will start May 11 and run through June 5. But voting for Best Movie will stay open throughout the awards show itself — meaning you'll have a chance to affect the night's biggest prize until the very last minute.

ReplyDeleteBut I will say that best kiss should go to Robert and Emilie...the kiss in New Moon we LACKING, and that's the truth. I found that there was no chemistry between Kristen's Bella and Robward in NM.
Best Movie, between New Moon and Remember Me, Remember Me would win hands down. New Moon was very disappointing to me (I didn't even buy it on dvd, because it's not something I want to watch again).
Best male performance, again Remember Me, in New Moon they barely gave us any Edward (a testiment to that dull and disappointing movie), so again Tyler here wins hands down.
My favorite Robert movies so far are:

And I'm really excited for Water For Elephants, I know that that will be one of my favorites as well! (hopefully)

I voted. I hope that everyone supports Rob in what ever he is nomnated for. I voted best kiss Rob and Kristen. Loved the scene in Italy. Voted Best Actor Rob in Remember Me. I am afraid that he will have his votes split and someone else will win because we are going to be divided between Remember Me and New Moon.

ReplyDeleteI think this proves that Rob can carry a movie. If any other actor had made RM it would have sunk without a trace instead it is talked about and put up for awards.

these votes are just a 'feeler' thing, MTV wants to see what we'd vote for, but the actual nominations are not a direct result of theses votes so I wouldn't worry about the split votes.

ReplyDeleteRob in RM definitely. Just finished watching NM and gave a real critical eye to Rob as Edward. He interpreted the role,as written, very well. It would be difficult to give a nuanced performance, unlike the range he showed as Tyler. MTV voters probably don't care about that. NM is just so dreary and dark. Overall a disappointment and I hate saying that because I love CW. What I did enjoy: The special features especially the 6-part doc on the making of it with some great little tidbits. If you're a geek like me, I highly recommend it. Since I just finished watching R&K kissing scenes in NM, and there were more than I remembered, I'm going to go with R&E in RM. More passion since Tyler didn't HAVE to hold himself back as Edward had to.

ReplyDeleteYes Remember Me get's a little recognition but WE ALL KNOW NEW MOON WILL PREVAIL. The fans are in the millions and it's just a waste of time and votes for me. I'm sorry it sounds harsh but it really doesn't matter who did better or what. It's going to come down to who has the more fans. You can post comments blah blah but we all know how it's going to go down.
I had a lot of trouble registering to vote - what's with the URL thing they want.......I'm not doing that. And there are so many choices - last year was a lot easier. I'd love to vote for Rob for everything but can't even register...........fail!
ReplyDelete@tongan34... That's a defeatist attitude! Have you not heard little David taking down Goliath? The Titanic... with the iceburg... Just because NM was bigger than RM, we never know if it will win him the best actor... He wasn't in NM that much... if Rob's parents had let him take that attitude, we wouldn't have all that goodness/pretty to oggle and love. I know the Saga had alot of readers... and no doubt other actor could play the parts... but I think RP brought something special to the role and we get to see him in other roles that do his amazing talent justice... I am not been harsh either but... Never say never.:)

Here's what I am doing being that I am torn between Remember Me and New Moon. You can go back and vote as many times as you want. So one day I vote Remember me everything, then the next I go back and vote New Moon, except for best performance I still vote Rob for Remember Me. So we all can do that, that is to those of us who are divided. Either way I will be happy to see Rob win for whichever.
