  1. Is this really true? I will happily be at the store to buy it in June, but why so soon? I feel like the theatrical run isn't/wasn't given a chance. I know the amount of theaters it is being shown in is dropping, but really, so soon? Does this bother anyone else, or is just me?

Fingers crossed for deleted, rated R sex scenes.

  2. I am sure it is true because typically smaller films usually are taken out of the theaters early due to make room for the blockbusters and released to DVD early. You know they are all about the money! Which is too bad but our man did pretty good in the box office!

And hopefully there will be the deleted sex scene that Goz still owes us haha

    ReplyDelete
  3. it's very very soon, or not?
i mean is this the normal time after the cinema film release?
previously scheduled or depends on how great the film success was according to the producer expectations?

sorry, don't have idea, I started buying dvd with twilight saga ;-).
just to understand if it's a good or bad sign for RM coz I loved it, Rob and Tyler so much...

  4. It bothers me too. I feel bad for him....I actually got a little sick to my stomach when I read it was coming out so soon. :( I just hope he's not upset or hurt over it. Hopefully he knows how much we all love him and the movie.

  5. Hi!

I watched Remember Me again yesterday, and the first time I saw it, I didn't watch it with full atention. So yesterday I realized- this guy doesn't know how to act!!!!
I thought well maybe his performance would be better than the one in Twilight, but no! So dissapointing!

And he doesn't look good without make up! He should never be let out on the big screen without full Edward Cullen make up!

    What was I thinking?

  6. @CL hon agree with you its so soon ggod but yeah isnt it still on theater it will shown in here on 30th of April

on the release date, yeah it's too soon, but remember me is a small film and they usually don't have a long run, only if they have oscar buzz people go and watch them.

  19. it's not a giant blockbuster, that is why it's going to DVD so soon. maybe it'll make more $$$ on sales.

i am looking forward to it. one week we get to buy RM and the following week we get to see eclipse, those are going to be happy times in june :))

    ReplyDelete
  20. When I saw the topic of this thread, I also was concerned that it is coming out so soon; I don't feel the film had enough of a chance. DO hope when they market the DVD they will categorize it better, and perhaps more people will get to see it.
On the other hand, i read that the 'Alice' DVD will come out very soon as well, and that some cinemas did not want to host it because of that. Perhaps there is a revolution coming in films, some new way of doing things, where they will no longer be in cinemas much, but will count on DVD sales more? Or perhaps the revolution is in movie go-ers (is that a word?), who are sick of paying the ridiculous cinema prices and are now able to obtain big screens for home viewing?
I personally don't bother going to cinema for most films; I am somewhat reclusive, don't want to bother with other people talking or stepping over me, endless obnoxious trailers, and not always getting a seat at an angle I perfer-- and I like my own popcorn better anyway! I try to ascertain if it is a film I either want to see RIGHT away, as in Remember Me, the Harry Potter films, and Twilight films, or if it something worth seeing on a really big screen (I don't have a big screen TV yet, but I would like to, and when I do, that reason for going to cinema will be out the window). If a film holds neither of those reasons for myself, I just wait 'til the DVD is out.

  22. @Cl and all you ladies Hi!

I don't know if I'm wrong (hope with all my heart) but seems like so much has been done to "boycott" RM with the aim to boycott first of all Rob and let him confined to the saga...
I'm also thinking about MTV MovieAw in the same way, I can't help sorry.
I will be so disappointed if he would be awarded only for NM and nothing for RM (or even nothing for NM, as he actually had a small part...). So many envious happy and celebrating...don't even want to think about this possibility :-(

  32. I think I saw somewhere that the new trend was now to release DVDs earlier than usual, like 4 months after first opening dates in theaters, instead of the average 6 months. So maybe that's normal for the USA DVD release. They explained that there was growing demand from the public to be able to get the DVDs sooner.
For anyone interested here's the last BO numbers for RM :
Total Domestic Box Office to Date:
    $17,243,708
Total International Box Office (not totally updated)
    $11,369,715
    Total Worldwide Box Office:

  64. wens everyone

thats what happened to me. i was focued on Rob the first time, then on the plot, the 2nd time, then on the other characters the 3rd time,
then on the event, then on the train and what gandhi said, then only i relaxed for this time to focus on the sex

    and oozing sex it was

then i focused on the whole movie when i watched it this time, ow many times now, i think te 6th

i just cant handle him, i get so stiff and all my senses are not functioning all at once.

so the movie was different for each time i watched it

but it just gets better the next time.

    ReplyDelete
  65. @Solas: Yes, that range is respectable, and it may even reach $40-50 if it can do $20m domestic and a bit more internationally. As for Rob being noticed - in the industry he's certainly being taken seriously but as far as critics and some audience are concerned I don't know. I think his next projects will help. Protagonist list the delivery date as December for Bel Ami - maybe in time for pre-awards screenings. Just waiting on a distributor for the US. I hate waiting... lol

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Solas-Very well said. I agree, and we do have a flatscreen. The prices at theaters actually ar rediculous. We're still in a recession, and theaters refuse to lower ticket prices and refreshment prices, so they'll be hit by that too more and more i think. That said, I do want to see Clash of the Titans! LOL. :P

    ReplyDelete
  67. OT - My son watched Nick Awards on sat. and was so happy that Alvin and chipmunks won over NM for best movie, he actually called me to his room to see, he was rubbing it in my face LOL. i thought it was hilarious cause he was so happy. so today is his birthday, he is 6, and of course i had to buy it for him.

    ReplyDelete
  68. hi rpattzgirl how are you eclipse is been release on your birthday week,so when is your birhtday? mine is june25

    ReplyDelete
  69. @Cullenluvr-I agree to a point with you. Sum***t does seem to give the primary attention to the Twi Saga, not the other films, like RM. Hurt Locker was a Summit film too, but hardly anyone knows that prob, because they didn't get behind it apparently well enough. However, it got Katheryn Bigelow a Best Director Oscar, and the guy who was the main character (can't remember his name) an Oscar nod as well. So, we just have to be patient and keep supporting Rob as best we can. He has some big upcoming projects with BA and Water for Elephants, so let's keep the faith guys! Rob doesn't need Summit-he has looks, and considerable talent. That's all he needs. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Please , please put on an english subtitle on the european version!! It's better to understand for our, who aren't native english.
I think, it's not too soon, because the film is leaked on theinternet, it's better to release before the leaked version beats the dvdsellings.
By the way, never liked 1th of april, and the jokes.

    ReplyDelete
  71. One last thing-things will change when the Twi movies are over. I think those movies have been a blessing and curse for Rob. I love him and the Twi movies, but getting them out of the way will be a very good thing for him, i think. He needs to get completely past that, and let's see what transpires. As I said, we must keep supporting him, and that will show who his true and loyal fans are. It will show who sees just Edward, and who sees Rob, the talented and gifted young man that he is.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Oh-the guy's name in Hurt Locker is Jeremy Renner. LOL! Had to clarify that-had a brain freeze for a moment. ;P

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'm ecstatic about this. The sooner I can have Robler in my hands the better!

    Possibly Santa Paula & LA

    ReplyDelete
  77. Oh goodie!!! I will definitely be buying it. I also heard that Rob is doing the commentary on this, I hope that's true! Did anyone else hear this too?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Where's RPL???

At least you know you can see this on June 22 bb!!!!

  79. rpg - i am jealous :( my dumb ass husband has to go and schedule this without talking to me. and what's in santa paula???

    ReplyDelete
  80. Ana73,
    For now it's just a plan, not 100% sure...but I'm hoping...

Santa Paula is where Rob will be filming WFE during that time.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Oh, and it's only about 30-45 min from LA, so very easy to do both stalking & Eclipse!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I swear I'm going to buy 5 copies of the DVD and hand them out to people who are doubters...

    ReplyDelete
  83. @solas - Yes I think they're good numbers, aren't they? But then I know nothing of this business, I never even knew how the BO numbers worked - I only got interested in them because of RM and had to figure it all out by myself. Maybe AP would know. I seem to remember that the pros had predicted RM would gross a final total about of 25-30 $M worldwide at the end of its career in theaters. If that's true, I guess it's doing really fine, as it's not out yet un the UK and in France and many otehr countries!

    ReplyDelete
  84. @ Fae I knew it! haha for that brief moment I was one woman down to having better chances with Rob LOL

@ robiscool- I wouldn't be surprised if he did commentary since he is EP **Fingers crossed**

I really think that if the critics and other people don't see his talent yet I think definitely WFE will since I think it will be a bigger movie and if BA will be released everywhere.

  85. Did you all see on the web this morning some stupid gossip mag saying Rob committed suicide blah blah. I know it's April fools day, but this is really sick shit. I'm disgusted. I feel sorry for his mom!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Loves Rob - that is really sick, not funny at all. someone could have really thought of something different if they had to play and april fool's day trick.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I ordered the Remember Me Dvd at amazon and wrote a review. :-) HOpe people will consider watching it now!

I didn't see that LR, but that IS disgusting and in poor taste, certainly not a joke. His poor mum, is right! And does anyone know how his Dad is doing? I remember the last press junket, his father was not able to come to NYC, and Rob's mum said the Dad was not well. Hope they are all well now and enjoying Rob being mostly close to home whilst filming BelAmi.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Also another one saying he's "come out of the closet". I think that's BS too. Even if he was gay, he'd be really stupid to come out now at the height of his career.

    ReplyDelete
  89. This comment has been removed by the author.

  90. I know it's April Fools Day but I really think some of those websites are going too far.
There's no disclaimer and many people believe much of what they read on the internet.

The statement "outing" Rob is from Ricky Martin who came out a few days ago -It's Martin's exact words used on his website.
Suicide is not something one jokes about at all!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Can't wait to watch this movie with a glass of wine at home. Best line in the movie is by Pierce "i have unleashed a shitstorm of epic proportions on the board of directors of that pissant school that will not abate until those girls seek enrollment elsewhere."
Only Pierce could deliver a line like that and make it sound awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  92. That just makes me sick to hear people making up stories that someone committed suicide or died in any way to make a dollar or a so called joke!
Johnny Depp actually had this happen to him a few months ago that he had been in a horrible car accident or something and I think he sued because his wife and kids thought it was real cause he was out of the country. IT is S.I.C.K!

    ReplyDelete
  93. @Netra2121 LOL! :) I'm back so the chances are small again! ;DDD

  100. RM dvd coming out in june

    yipee, more RM for me

being released in dvd this early is no longer taboo. a lot of people prefer watching at home with their homemade popcorn and those huge screens. makes a lot of money to the film industry too

    i still like cinemas though

    ReplyDelete
  101. wens youve got to, thats the only way

    ReplyDelete
  102. @shufflebin :D yeah... I guess I still have it! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  103. Shufflebin--that's interesting. What do you like about cinemas?

Annie and Netra--I cannot fathom how people can keep the tabloids in business. And they can say they are joking, but this IS sickness. I was just at market and actually literally shuddered at the headlines glaring at me, about broken marriages, supposedly horrid mothers, etc. If I were an attorney, I would volunteer my time, even if these people are wealthy, to sue these publications out of business. Words DO hurt, espcially little children--can you imagine little children seeing photos of their mum being labeled/libeled as cheating on the chldren's dad, or as cruel since she was supposedly laughing when her children cry, etc?? It would be bad enough for children to see that if it WERE true, let alone when it is all false.
ANd to have loved ones horrified with worry, as the case with Johnny Depp, or when ROb's mother heard he had G-d forbid committed suicide or overdosed??? What sick minds write this--and what sick minds buy this!!! Evil!!!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Thanks for those figures, WhyistheRum...I always go to boxofficemojo but its figures didn't seem as accurate.

I was in the theatre all alone this afternoon. Weird feeling.
At the end, as the credits were rolling, the young cleaning staff were waiting for me. One of them actually talked to me, as I sat in the dark, crying. 'Are you crying?' she asked. 'What else do you do at the end of this movie?' I answered. I thought I'd go because it was the last day at my local cinema, even though it'll still be at others in the city next week.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Solas, *waves*
I know what you mean about the crap 'pre-show' at the cinemas nowadays. It was 20 min. of advertisments, trailers and other crap.

Plus, people all have cell phones, which, even if they're just checking for calls or texting, annoyingly become little lit up screens, very distracting. A group of middle-aged women were at one of the RM shows and were worse than any teens I've ever seen at RM showings, loud, cells still on and being answered (you don't want to be anywhere near me if that happens and it's your phone; I can instill terror, and have.)

I only go to films that really interest me as well, and, if finances allow, I'm ready to get a big screen TV soon. I used to make fun of them--mine is 42" flat screen--because I thought only guys watching sports were into them.
The last week I had a brain-wave; obviously I don't get many of these or I would have been all over this after Twilight.
Robert on my own big screen, yes, without ads, with my own perfect and cheap popcorn and space for it. And, anytime I want. Robert on my own big screen, anytime...

    ReplyDelete
  106. Meme:
MTV movie awards? Robert has been there and done that. And, if he's nominated in one category twice--for NM and RM--he'll lose with a split vote. You watch.

It's time we thought of him as Oscar or Bafta material, not teen or people's or MTV or any other poll-related award. Not that I wouldn't back him all the way, but he'll be 24 soon and he wants to be taken seriously. It's time.

    ReplyDelete
  107. solas

i love going to the theaters, all by myself, i lose it there.

we have big armed chairs, you can fold the arm rest, some even rock, love the movie popcorn, and the surround sound

i just somehow cant recreate that at home, also with distractions

    ReplyDelete
  108. CullenLover...
Maybe Scummit is trying to profit off Eclipse hype with the RM DVD release date.
But we already know audiences of the saga and of RM overlap only here. Otherwise the saga fangirls have shown their true colours by boycotting RM.
So why would the proximity of the DVD release and Eclipse's premiere have much of anything to do with each other?

  110. Shufflebin...Yeah the movie gets better every time and you can focus on other things. I might notice--but don't focus--on other things, not if Rob's on the screen. It's this weird disease I have. Can'ttakemyeyesoffRob, I think its called.
I think, 8 times for me. I'll probably stop until DVD comes out.

  112. Jessegirl--exactly!! :-) and please come with me if I go to a cinema again; i want to see how you instill fear onto cellphone users. :-D I can only give 'the LOOK' otherwise known as the 'mom look' which doesn't work with ladies older than I am; the 'detention teacher look' which doesn't work on people older than 13; or the 'psychologist raised eyebrow-as-if-ready-t0-straightjacket-you look' (whch I have sincerely given to people who I thought were talking to themselves but who actually had a little thing on the ear which apparently talked to them), which unfortunately gets counteracted by my nurturing it-will-all-be-ok-as-soon-as-we get-you-into-a-padded-cell-with-meds look.
Havingbeen truly terorized, I am not sure I could ever terrorize anyone, but might like to try something more effective for cellphone users (and papz and raggers) than my present arsenal.
    Bang.

  113. Shuffle--I have my old green velvet winged armchair here, a safe way of being hugged and no stranger germs and chewed gum stuck on it; healthful homemade popcorn, and make my own schedule. I used to think it was excessive, unnecessary, and spoiled, but now I think if someday I can afford my own house, I would love to have if not a movie room, then at least a library not only with floor -to-ceiling bookcases on most walls, but also with space for a really big flatscreen and good sound system, where I can view what i want, when i want.

  114. Its normal to release a DVD 3-4 mth afther its theaterical release.....And RM is doing fine, I read the script and saw it last wednesday when it was release in my country, I cried when I read the script, but Allan Coultier was not the right director for it. Rob was beautiful, Pierce was great, Aidan (Tyler roomate was also the highlight of the movie), the casting was great, but the director fail to bring the best out of a good script /cast.

I hope that Rob works with better directors in the future. A good director can turn a bad script into a good film and vice versa.

The film box office performance is good considering its not your type of hollywood movie, and the main reason people see RM is because of Rob Pattinson , now thats what I call power.

But I will definitly see RM again to see what I miss the 1st time time.....

  115. Solas,
I shouldn't have used the word 'terror', wasn't thinking.
And, actually, all of your intimidating looks sound great, esp. the one where you change to a sympathetic or patronizing person.

For full impact I do have a look.
But I have to say, my voice is pretty effective all on its own, which, in a darkened theatre, with other disgruntled viewers listening, is gratifying. Futhermore, the voice, in both tone, volume and confidence, is powerful. You might be too sympathetic a soul; when I'm royally pissed by disrespectful people--whatever their sex or age-- I have at them. Not ranting, no, just a judicious, well-placed, short command. They are usually too surprised to disregard.

    Doesn't always work though.
Tried to get off a jury once by skewering the defendant with a glare and that backfired. I was chosen. That was an experience.

Oh, and good idea to put a comment on Amazon. Can you comment without buying? I'll probably just want to go to my local store for the best deal for the DVD.

    Shufflebin and Solas.
I sort of vacillate between both of your most enjoyable viewing experiences. I do like the large theatre, and, despite their many flaws, watching with audience members. But the freedom of getting up to pee when you need to--and not miss the movie, to not be seen if you are really overcome, nice at home.
