Silicone Bust Of Robert Pattinson As Edward Cullen

Silicone Bust Of Robert Pattinson As Edward Cullen

Somebody actually paid $1,399.00 for this in an ebay auction. Yes I'm serious!

Photobucket

I'm not saying that a lot of work didn't go into making this but what is it about these things that never look quite right, there's always something off about them and I'm sorry but there is no way I would part with that much money (if I had it) for this!

Here's what the listing says about it:

This is a RARE life-size 1:1 museum quality, one of a kind, silicone bust of Edward Cullen, played by actor Robert Pattinson in the hit film Twilight, Twilight: New Moon, Eclipse. This is NOT an Edward Cullen doll, this is a full size head. It was custom made by a movie industry FX artist in between jobs. I was going to piece together a full statue. This is an amazing bust that looks entirely real. (Kate: No it doesn't!) The soft silicone is real to the touch. The punched hair is amazing, the eyebrows, lashes, hairline are hand inserted. The eyes are industry grade glass eyes. The entire piece is foam filled with a core up the neck so he can be easily mounted on a stand or put together as an historic museum quality statue (Kate: STOP! mind out of the gutter Kate, mind out of the gutter! :-})

Mmmm... It does look better than the wax model I'll give it that but no thanks I think I'll pass. I prefer the real thing!

  8. Ewwww!

I've been up close and personal with Waxy Rob but I wouldn't even go into the same room as this!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Nope, doesn't look real at all. There's only one "authentic" looking Rob and HE'S a one of a kind, living, breathing model.

P.S. MOTU updated and please, someone tell me that with that effing cliffhanger Icy plans on having a sequel?!

  11. Ugh - horrendous!

Some people have more money than sense (or taste)...

  12. Yikes!

    @JC--Exactly right.

    @Kate--I like the mounting comment.

  13. OK... someone needs to find out WHO bought this... because no matter how unrealistic... I'm afraid of what a person might consider doing with this... really? Like think about it.. it's just scary... it really really is.. YUCK! Unless you own a museum... or some sort of celebrity tourist trap.. why would you want it? It just gives me the heebee jeebees...

  14. I know some of you were asking before if we could change the font or the colour of the comments so that you could keep track of the NB's adventures. Unfortunately we can't but you can post in bold yourself like this

It might help to make the posts stand out. It's easy to do all you do is add b and put <> around it at the beginning of your post and /b inside <> at the end and to make it Italic just do the same with an i inside <>

I hope that makes sense and helps a bit ;-)

  15. I'm an artist and a I Sculpture. I think this is pretty good for an art piece. Kate, I bet you could do any better :)
The eyes are a little off. But it's a hell of a lot better than wax-alike Rob. You can tell it's Edward.

  16. Sorry, but that's just gross!!! Ewww!!

MoTU updated, and has ended, and I hope and pray Icy does a sequel, the ending was a cliffie, I think she likes to torture us readers...LOL, So, in reading the reviews, many have pleaded for a sequel....let's just hope!!!!

  17. I figured out what is wrong with this piece and the wax figure at Madame Tussaud's. They don't ever get the eyes right. That includes the eyebrows. He is definitely not symmetrical. And they start out making him so and it just doesn't work. The eyes are never large enough and the space between eyebrows and eyes is never measured properly. They usually get the nose. Sometimes the mouth is thin. I bet if anyone ever got it right there would be a stampede to purchase one.

  18. jc, is you is or is you ain't going?

GET ON THE DAMN PLANE!!! LMAO

  21. I think this will give me nightmares. Yikes!!

  22. Horrible! It's like an Elizabethan execution - step right up folks - here we have a disembodied head on a spoke to brighten up any room in your house!!! You've got to laugh at the lack of imagination. But it's better than the chocolate head that appeared a few months back .... that was horrific.

The people who make these things are not true fans because they don't know his face at all.

    ReplyDelete

  31. Grace I agree it's better than the wax model I said that ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  32. OMG, could this be any scarier? Somebody probably took it home & put it on the wall with the stuffed rhinoceros.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @TotallyRobbed

At least the chocolate head was useful, yum.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @ Adm- do you know if the women in robstock II are going to the film festival, like actually go besides the eclipse premiere??

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Fifty

Chocolate Robert Pattinson LIPS would be nice, not so difficult to make either - now if that was a product, I'd get through a lot of them!

That's my PG-rated contribution to all things that could be made out of chocolate concerning RP ....

  36. Looks pretty good to me -- but I'd rather spend $1400 to see him in person (airfare, hotel, tickets, whatever)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm sorry, but looking again, this is STILL freaking creepy!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. It might be freaking creepy but its way better then the Tussauds figure!!! It looks like Twilight-Edward, I think! But still the eyes are creepy...

  39. http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2010/05/do-not-buy-this-magazine/

DON'T BUY THE Magazines that exploit Rob and Kristen. If we stop buying them - they will quit telling LIES and STEALING our money. The mag bosses are laughing at us all the way to the bank.

Hollywood Gossip.com had an interesting thing to say about what happened back stage at Oprah. Check it out.

  40. Thanks Kate for the idea about the font being bold - I hope there is a way for the Ground Control to do that.

Or........could there be a thread created especially for them to post at for each of those 7 days so we won't have to be looking through random threads to find information????? Would that be too difficult for everyone?

I just hate to miss any of the adventures the NB's will encounter and wish them all well in their Robstock journey.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sorry - I didn't mean to sound bossy and like telling you what to do..........it was just a suggestion.

    ReplyDelete
  42. This actually resembles him fairly well. I agree.. BETTER then the wax statue. I'd say they did a pretty good job.

  44. I agree better then the wax staute...but still something is off...lips look perfect though...can't replicate the real Robert...only way they could do that is putting a plaster mask on his face to make a mold...that would be the best copy of his face. Of course nobody may be able to get their hands on his face to make a plaster copy.
If you ask me some people are just that crazy obessed with Robert they will by ANYTHING that is Robert even if it doesn't look much like him. Scary thinking they could be making out with that thing. lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. ok..a little creepy..but not too bad..just keep making it..(you know..practice makes perfect)
maybe one day they finally make it right..and i.ll defenitely order one for sure..to put on the table in my living room LOL or in the bedroom XD
