The other morning some were saying they couldn't see a peen in this drawing. Well...

I went and had a 2nd look at our boy's "artwork", at first I thought...what a bloody mess...all scribbles..but now that I've had that 2nd look....ok...yep.. I now definitely see, 1 peen, (bit deformed looking, but yeah, ok, it's art right) 1 set of lips with tongue sticking out, and the "L", have no idea what the significance of that would be, but yeah, I agree with Nik, there seems to be a hint of swimming tadpoles and all sorts of things that may elude to "baby stuff"..mmmm...that boy never ceases to amaze me in more ways than one....but then everything is open to interpertation, ya neva know, and because of that...it could be just a bunch of scribbling, and if it is....I guess we'd be reading WAY to much into this artwork of his LOL!!!

I had a problem with that most influential thing too. But then I realized...
I confusing influential with important. Now is Rob important to his fans? Of course he is. Were concerned with his happiness and safety as much as with his career. But is he important in terms of the world at large? Does he have the responsibility for or is he making decisions that are affecting people's lives? No. He is not.
But is he influential? Yeah. He is.
Maybe not in 'important' ways, but in this pop culture? Yeah. He is.
It's my own personal opinion that it is HE, not Kristen, not Taylor, not even Stephenie Meyer's books that is fueling the worldwide hysteria surrounding this franchcise which has translated into billions of dollars with more to come. That's influence.
Does he influence fashion? Yup. I see more 'wild' hair on young men now, not to mention more beanies and plaid (I see those on women too).
If people find out Rob is reading a certain book, how many run out to get that book. How many people have Heineken in their fridge right this minute? (I don't 'cause I drank all mine. but I've been drinking those babies before Rob Pattinson was gleam in his daddy's eye. And no, I don't have Hot Pockets 'cause I think they're disgusting but I do eat Cinnamon Toast Crunch 'cause it's in my Top 10 of desert cereals and has been for years).
And I could list many more the things, but bottom line...he most definitely is influential.
He's not saving the world. But what he's about is having an impact on people and that is having influence.

The definition of "influential" is someone of great power, influence, and someone who is effective. It's also someone of considerable importance. Rob is none of those traits. He's a mediocre actor who got a lot of buzz because everyone thinks he's hot. Sure he's hot...I will admit that but that is all he has go going for him right now. But influential? People get real. How has he made an impact? I mean really? He's not that great of an actor.
Sure he'll sign something so it can be auctioned off but he has done nothing to be considered influential. He doesn't deserve that title. The only reason he got it is because he's a pretty face and a million girl LOVE him. They're nothing but sheep.
I haven't seen the whole Influential list, but I am sure at least half of those people don't deserve to be on there. Rob is one that definitly doesn't belong/deserve to be on it.

Girls I used to be part of a group therapy once based on art. We didn't talk about our problems we just drew pictures whatever crossed our minds. The ourtakes were sometimes so enligheting about our personalities that many times we burst in tears or even sob.
Trust me there is no such think as meaningless scribbling.

@Nik, do you think the reason that Rob is throwing more curve balls lately, continuing to surprise us when we thought we had him pegged, is due to his maturing, feeling more comfortable and confident in his own skin, thus not so guarded (or paranoid) about revealing bits of himself. I'm thinking this may in part be due to the work he's been getting and his relationship with the girl. I have noticed a difference in interviews, thankfully not too big a one, from those he gave 2 years ago.

I do believe Rob has influence on how we spend our money whether it is for charity or selling magazines, he influences how we spend our money on anything associated with him. Why do you think more magazines have him on the cover because it sells, why do you think George Clooney wanted him for his telethon, more money for charity. He may not think he is influential in the ways of polictics, science, and culture but he influences us to a degree on how we choose to spend our money on anything associated with Robert. We purchase tickets to see his movies, we spend money on anything with his gorgeous face on the cover, we spend money on books that he loves to read or music that he listens to, like his Brit Pack. He may not have been influential in showing his dog how to walk, but he has influenced us on how to spend our money on anything associated with him or Twilight. In the past two years he personally as been very influential in my life on how I spend some of my hard earned cash, and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. I apologize for over use of influence in this comment. I got carried away.

This words SEEMS. To 'seems' something is to interpret it. And yes, we certainly our interpreting here. Interpreting what we can; the way the lines are laid down on the paper and what they might mean.
What we cannot interpret is how much time, effort and energy went into the work...if any. THAT is not open for interpretation at all.

I saw the other balloons and many of them are rather childish or obviously drawn in '5 minutes'. To me Rob's one is quite artistic, a bit surreal and surely not a '3years-old'picture. And when I checked ebay it was almost the only balloon people were bidding for lol.

Hmmm, as to the comment about maybe it took him 5 min or less to do this. Some of my best line drawings have been done in that amount of time (prize winners and calendar covers). It's not the time it takes, it's the control and thought before. I hope he tries his hand at some more art.

I go with a self portrait and your number 2."Rob sent us a valentine" referencing the unbelievable sexual intensity of his fans. Plus in my opinion Rob was probably a pretty innocent, inexperienced young man until the last couple of years. He now appears to be in a relationship with a beautiful young lady. He has definitely been in some sexually charged situations in a number of his movies and photo shoots. He only has to Google his own name and or go to a web site like this one to experience sexual awakening... Just reading what all us young and old ladies would like to do to him and vise versa would be enough to keep a young man in a constant state of horny. (As if a young man needs more stimulation). I too am guessing that he doesn't have tons of experience or rather, he hasn't had tons of partners. Just doesn't strike me as the sleep around type as that would be the typical thing to do and I'm not sure he's got a typical bone in his body. He once made a comment that really struck me. He said for his generation sex had become cheap and he didn't say it jokingly. He said it wistfully, like maybe his generation was going about it all wrong. And,
From what I understand he has always been beautiful. Always had the attention of girls but with his shyness didn't know quite what to do with it all. Then according to the story it was his dad who got him into acting because of those pretty girls from the theatre club and I wondered, why? Then hearing about his sisters dressing him up like a girl and his mother putting him in modeling, I wondered if maybe his father was trying to steer him in another direction to try and break him out of that shell.
But now look what has happened to him. In some article it said that he had become perhaps, the most objectified young man of the modern age. That must be a very strange thing for him. That maybe when he's alone with his own thoughts, he tries to wrap his head around the idea that women all over the world are dreaming and fantasizing about him and maybe he has moments of arrogance about that. It would be understandable but I'm thinking for the most part it overwhelms him and he just doesn't understand it. If he did, don't you think he'd be strutting the world acting like God's gift? But instead he fumbles and bumbles his way through.
How would any of us feel if we knew that millions and millions of strangers were staring at our image and imagining us sexually in every possible way? That would make me not want to leave the house.
As for his intelligence,
I would guess that he'd test off the charts and if so, then he perceives the world differently than your average Joe. That was my ex and his IQ neared 200. I often wondered why he loved me. I'm no dummy, but I'm no genius either. He said he loved my skewered sense of the ridiculous (and my boobs & legs. well. he was a guy). He didn't understand it, but he found it highly amusing and I've often thought the same of Rob. He doesn't understand all of this adoration of himself but I'm guessing he's highly amused by it.

@Judith, yes, I agree. It would be interesting to know where he started it on the balloon, top or bottom. Did he consciously know what he wanted to do (don't think so), but one squiggle led to another, the shapes and curves evolved I think, but do express something of a sexual nature, which is not surprising. I am just curious at what point he drew the clear peen, before or after the rest or somewhere in the middle and realized there was a theme here. Whatever, it's intriguing and I'd give my left arm to own it (well, maybe not really!)

Yes. I do see a difference in him now as oppose to fall of 2008 when all of THIS hit him right smack dab in the face. He's learning. He's growing. He's maturing. Not just in his life but in his work AND...he's happy. You can just see it. Also, with all of that I would imagine would come a little more confidence. So yeah, he's is getting his footing here and maybe feeling like he can reveal a bit more about himself. 'Cause the thing is, for as much as he's had to talk about himself these past almost two years, he really hasn't revealed who he is. We know OF him. But we do not KNOW him. And most famous people haven't the first clue how to do that. They just slit their own bellies and let it all spill out onto the floor. Rob doesn't.

He drew the balloon in GREEN - it's a balloon within the big balloon. Then later he started doodling in other colours in his picture (blue and black). You can see that the rest of the peen is in BLACK which he added when he realised what it really looked like ...... ; )
