I've just finished listening to it and it's great! We're back to real Twilight stuff and not the New Moon crap... Apart from the tracks composed by Alexandre Desplat, that soundtrack was horrible... This one is great!
The opening theme song is great "all yours". Agree w/ you Solas on 'we're back to the real Twilight stuff and not the NM crap...". I might like David Slade after all.

i know alot did like NM soundtrack but i thought that it was good, i know a little bit of a downer but it fit with the movie but this one seems to be better so far.
@Ana--I loved the NM soundtrack, especially the Tom Yorn song when the wolves are chasing Victoria and Bella is about to jump. And The Killers are one of my favorite bands, so it was all win for me.
@erpatz-As someone said on Twitter, it's okay we have a Jacobs theme because Edward gets Bella. I would have killed for a Rob song, though! ;-)
Love all this music! I really am excited about all of this new stuff and cannot wait to see the movie so I can place the music with the scenes. Great soundtrack!! CL - I had to hear the NM soundtrack a few times, but it def grew on me. Now I love it! And even my girls have the Twi soundtrack memorized. They've never seen the movie, but they can tell you what is happening (in the movie)during each song. LOL!
CL - yes tom yorn song was really good, my girlfriend saw him at coachella and saw that he was awesome best show of the night. im a killers fan too :)) i think my fav. was lykke li, i fit perfect in the movie.

Girls this is really goooood:)))))) I am doing my happy dance cooking some pasta(Rob's way) and drinking wine while I am taliking to you and rolling some baklava for Angie. Life is beautiful Both twilight score and NM hold a special place in my heart.
This is a LOT better than the NM soundtrack, and also better than the Twilight soundtrack. However it only has 4 standout songs on it.
In no particular order:
Eclipse (all yours) by Metric
Nuetron Star Collision (Love is forever) by Muse
Heavy in Your arms by Florence and the machine (this is too outstanding. I get chills when she says "He took me to the river, where he slowly let me drown, my love has concrete feet, my love is an iron ball, wrapped around your ankle over the waterfall"). And I know that this is off-topic, but I just have to say that this song actually would fit "Phantom of the Opera" REALLY well... fascinating, intense and romantic.
Then we have My Love by Sia
So those are the 4 songs that I thought were outstanding here. And am I the only one really annoyed that they have "Jacob's theme" on this? This is not NM anymore, enough already! They should have put "Edward's theme", he's the main lead. This only makes it a surer bet that I won't be seeing Eclipse in theaters. However I might buy this soundtrack, because I really loved those 4 songs.
While I'm happy that I can listen to it I cant help myself and wonder if they are completely stupid.
Do they know how EASY!! it is to rip the whole Soundtrack from an online stream?! I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing is not already up as an illegal download?
I guess they must be aware of it or at least I hope they are.
I will admit, I hate the Muse song. Muse is an amazing band but that song they came up with for Twilight is just...blergh. But the rest is great so far. Especially seeing Florence + the Machine and Bat for Lashes on the Soundtrack is a surprise. Amazing artists!

I don't know girls how to tell you this. The moment I finished writing Life is beautiful the telephone rang and I was told that my mother in law passed away. It was so scary.

dina - I'm very sorry for your lose I wish you well during this difficult time.
My family has gone through a time of great lose with loved ones recently. We lost my dear sweet grandmother and my sister, six months apart, from separate illnesses.
Finally got done listening to the whole soundtrack...distracted at work but The Band of Horses song reminded me of Pink Floyd, i like the whole soundtrack including Jacob's song. I cant hate jake he was part of the story, a big part. There would be the holy trinity without him LOL.
@cherri I am so sorry for your granny and your sister ppl die only when we forget them so keep the good memories. @thank you Solas, sometimes I feel like you ladies are my extended family. Let's cheer up a bit though.
I'm listening to it as we speak and I have to say, another homerun.
First off, Metric was great, as usual. Loved Vampire Weekend. The hook in the bridge was what sold me. And UNCLE; I swear, anything Thom Yorke does, whether it's Radiohead, sideprojects or even solo albums, it blows my mind. I really enjoyed Fanfarlo, the remix. It was reminisant of Radioheads, 15 step. Other songs that hit me between the eyes was Heavy heart to carry by Florence and the machine and Chop and change by The Black Keys.
I luv the Muse song,btw it was playing in the background when Rob was on Ellen,it makes me excited for BD and seeing E/B finally consummating their love for eachother.
I especially like the Florence & the Machine track, saw them last year - brilliant. Also love UNKLE. I liked the NM soundtrack too, but think I like this better. Still gutted that the Twilight one didn't include "Let Me Sign"... I'm still unconvinced by the Muse track, sometimes find them a little, well, over the top, although Supermassive Black Hole was genius.

So, I'm just listening to the soundtrack for the second time now. Actually I really like the song by Sia and Metric's is nice aswell... but a real hit that has the ability to captivate me? Not so much... It's all pretty average, mediocre stuff - sounds a bit happier than the NM OST but not really better. Still not back at the Twilight OST-level at all.
That soundtrack rocks!! i love every single one of Twilight soundtracks but this is really awesome..i like the song "Let's get lost" from Beck and Bat For Lashes the most..
Oh, and I forgot: Why isn't "Torn" by OfVerona on this soundtrack? I LOVE that song and it fits Eclipse so well. You could find it all over youtube as the first soundtrack song of Eclipse. I think it really is a shame if they actually left it out...

OMG, A BIG Win. I L-O-V-E it!! Listened to most of it at work and was so excited, I ran down the hall to my music genious mentor, Matt, and told him. He was skeptical (Twilight, afterall!), but he looked it up and knew almost all the artists on it and was very impressed. I really did like the NM soundtrack, thought it captured the mood. IMO: #1 Eclipse, #2 Twilight, #3 NM.
@Dina, sorry I meant to offer my condolences to you and your husband. Sounds like she had a long life and left a large family who will honor and remember her forever.
Okay, better than NM (only liked the Thom Yorke and Hurricane Bells on that, besides Desplat, I mean).
On Eclipse: Best cut is 'Let's Get Lost', Beck and Bat for Lashes. Metric's Eclipse is good; Black Keys' Chop and Change really bluesy, good. Liked the Howard Shore (He is so good, wonder what the rest of the score is like). But Let's Get Lost, the only one I'd put my money down for.

Best cut is 'Let's Get Lost', Beck and Bat for Lashes.
Metric's Eclipse is good;
Black Keys' Chop and Change really bluesy, good.
Liked the Howard Shore (He is so good, wonder what the rest of the score is like).
But Let's Get Lost, the only one I'd put my money down for.
dina...I missed your news but I'm sorry for your loss.
I think there are a lot of good songs on the soundtrack. I especially liked the songs by Muse, Fanfarlo, Cee Lo Green, and Vampire Weekend.
