You can learn a lot about a character — and an actor — talking to a film’s costume designer. Here, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse‘s Tish Monaghan reveals a few secrets from the wardrobe closets:

• Robert Pattinson wanted to wear karate pants for the training sequence. “So we got him some karate pants, and it’s like the crotch hangs down to the knees, and I just thought, Ugh. Who’s gonna go for this? Because everything has to be approved by Summit,” Monaghan says. “We took them in a little bit, and they loved the karate pants. Who knew? I was so surprised.”

  8. Daniel: Hey, what kind of belt do you have?
Miyagi: Canvas. JC Penny. Three ninety-eight. You like?
    [laughs]
    Daniel: No, I meant...
Miyagi: In Okinawa, belt mean no need rope to hold up pants.

  9. Hey Solas...
did you notice Edward's brows in Eclipse were not so perfectly waxed? When I watched it for the second time, there was alot more stray brow hair...betcha Rob had a say in that too.

Can't wait for the DVD so I can slo-mo the make-out scenes.
    So yummy.

hope you have a great weekend too.

  18. acullengirl - well have fun with the hubby...
and try to stay sane with the 14yr olds :) when my stepdaughter had her bday at 14 we let her have a slumber party, well they thought that late at night they would crank call other people from their school and one of the girls actually gave another caller a real "threat" and they traced it back to our phone line and the cops were at our house that morning. we never had a slumber party again. we laugh about it now but at the time my husband was so mad. now we always say remember when...
my stepdaughter is 22 and she still gets embarrassed to this day when we tell the story.

    but have fun :))

  24. Karate pants?! I'm red from the top of my head to the tips of my toes after reading some of these comments and then the resultant random thoughts about the family jewels. Stop it, kiddo, you gotta get back to work. No more fun for awhile yet.

  25. I already loved how those pants fit Rob/Edward when I saw the movie...

@HeartRob: ITA, Rob/Edward wears too much clothing!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks, Cullengirl. :)

And I am off to see Eclipse again tonight with the hubby. Now that I have the mental image of the Big Pretty, aka the Colonel, in my mind, I might be giggling during this particular scene.

But that aside, am I the only one who gets all wiggly when I see Robward with the hair down on his forehead like that? *SIGH*

  27. Oops, correction: thanks, CullenLover :)

  28. Only six days, then I can see Eclipse in the cinema. My daughter and I will have a wonderful evening. It is always nice if I do something with my daughter alone. And then Rob. Wonderful.
Let's see if I even bring my husband to the movie.

  29. What is there to film reviewers of Eclipse? Does anybody know about that?

    ReplyDelete
  30. @hearthrob yeah he is wearing too much clothes couldnt agree more LOL

    ReplyDelete
  31. @sarahbear LOL, no you are not the only one, last time I saw Eclipse and this scene was on the big screen, my dear smart a$$ hubby leaned over to me and asked me if I had brought a towel to soak up all the moisture between my legs, I asked what gave him the idea I was turned on, he said because you keep fidgeting in your chair would you please stop you are driving me crazy.
you might want to take a towel with you this time especially if you have those images in your head.

  32. @acullengirl...

LOL, my hubby has learned not to complain about my love of Rob, and his many characters...mainly because he reaps the rewards of my obsession. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Sarah yeah he usally never complains but he could not reap the rewards that time, I was still on my no sex orders from the OB from my surgery. So he was pissed I was turned on and he was not going to get anything from it.

darn looks like I will have to go watch it again since I am in the clear now.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @acullengirl...

Forgive me for being out of the loop, but what kind of surgery did you have? I had a tubal and endometrial abalation in Jan. Hooray for the female surgery club!

    ReplyDelete
  35. @sarah I had that same surgery a year ago and it failed so I edend up having a hysterectomy a removal of one ovary on June 2nd I hope your ablation worked for you

    ReplyDelete
  36. That was suppose to say and instead of a, I hate when I am in a hurry.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @acullengirl: thanks for the smile...your hubby is a keeper! :-)

  38. @acullengirl...

I hope my procedures work as well. I've had a ROUGH go of things since my youngest was born. So far so good, but things have progressively been going back to old patterns over the past few cycles. I am sorry you've had to go through a hyst. I have heard that the recovery process is brutal. For what it's worth from a cyber friend, I send many many hugs your way! :)

P.S. Saw Eclipse again, this time with hubby tonight. I have to say, the karate pants are HOT. And so help me, that proposal scene/leg hitch scene completely float my boat. *SIGH* I love my alien hybrid boyfriend.

  39. When I was watching the movie, I whispered to my friend who put Rob in the MC Hammer pants. I should have known it was Rob's idea. He still looked hot in them though. I really don't think there is anything that he would look bad in. He has the best body profile (long and lean) that is out there.
