The day we went up it was pretty warm but man was that wind kicking around and it really did cool things off. Not to mention we've been dealing with "June gloom" around here. Although, it's July now and I have noticed that today is a bit warmer.
What I can't figure out is how these bastards got these shots. Obviously with telephoto lenses. But they would have had to move across that field way closer to that set to get 'em. Especially getting shots inside the tents.
@Nik.....I think that was so cool you all went to the filming set. Just to know he was there and see a speck of him on set ---ahhh, makes my heart flutter. those camera lens are amazing. seen many from folks that do field work (of wildlife) with lens so long they need two tripods to hold all the equipment up. And they're not cheap. I guess that's why the pappz get so pushy to get "the money shot."
Warm? JHC it was blazing hot!! I was putting on factor 30 and still caught the sun... I guess my lily white English flesh can't take the Cali sunshine :(
Even with my camera on full zoom I saw nothing but the papz camera lenses are huge. RPG and I were just taking it easy watching them swarm LOL
I think you're right, AP. The papz are probably standing on the road across the field from the set, exactly where we and other fans were. It's actually very close to the action, and a really great lens would be able to zoom onto about anything done outside the tents. Focus is bad on Rob when he's with Chris and the director because he's behind netting.
Anyway it was very warm, but DK you haven't seen anywhere near blazing for this area! Still, I was sporting a bright red chest afterwards too! And since Rob shares your lilly white skin, it's amazing they've managed to keep him from bronzing much at all.
Makes me think that a great deal of the shots are going on inside the big tops. Perhaps nearly all of the interiors done right there, Nik? But wrapping on the 9th? That seems terribly rushed...
BTW: one of the WFE blog girls (apologies in advance to RPG) was out there the same day that RPG, DK, Nik and I visited. She got some fantastic shots:

I thought the wrap was the 15th, but Reese does have another gig starting up before the end of July, I think...
AP... that's interesting to know about Reese's schedule, so they really are under the gun.
Everyone is wondering about Rob being able to fit in UC before BD starts. Well Kristen has time to do On the Road, but they would have to have all their ducks lined up for UC to start right away. And I don't think that's the case.
Anyone out there know anything about the development stage of UC? What else do Jackman and Weisz have on their plates? Nik, ask your Jackman fan friend please! Timing for this one seems impossible, unfortunately.
@Loisada: Haven't heard any preproduction buzz. Hugh is supposedly doing a bit in Selma in August and starts Avon Man in October. Nik's friend may know more. Thought Rob had another little commitment himself in August...probably spec. Can't see them 'squeezing in' UC. Not squeezable...lol Oops, gotta go...
Rob said in an interview that after WFE wrapped he was going to go immediately to doing pre-production work on Breaking Dawn. This interview happened about the same time that Wyck hitting the road with Condon to scout Louisiana UC just cannot seem toget made.
