UPDATE: I'm adding crops (and the HQs in the thumbnails) because I'm crazy about his intense look and sexhair reaching for the sky. I bow down to the hairstylist.

And this crop I lightened. Could he BE more beautiful? Look at that pensive brow. Those eyes are piercing me like the spikes! I love it and can't wait to see more.

Photobucket

HOLY SMOKES!!!

Photobucket

This is the most unique shoot we've seen with Rob and the hair makes me wild...plus the spikes. It's all wild and RAWR!

  2. I love it from the neck up. IDK about that trench though...

    *RUNS*

    ReplyDelete
  3. Definitely unique ... kinda out there from everything we've seen (maybe not the tribute to Cronenberg) but hells bells ladies ... the man is still F.I.N.E. FINE! ;D

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ah Caitlin she's always interesting and unpredictable.
I understand she shot these on Oct 18 in LA before he went off to OZ.

    ReplyDelete
  5. absolutely ... but I wouldn't kick him outta bed over it!  LOL
Rob certainly has the market cornered on sexy as fuck right now ...
do you think that she only has these two shots or are they trying to ease us in with two pics at a time.
If there's twenty more, I don't think my husband will survive the week!  ;o

    ReplyDelete
  6. That first photo up there...urm, NO!  BAD. Very Bad.

    ReplyDelete
  7.  clothes are crazy but everythig else is damn fiiiiine

    ReplyDelete
  8. Caitlin usually doesn't take dozens of shots...she's like her Dad very specific in what she wants.
If there are more and I'm sure there are... I can't wait to see them!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Uhhh, no.  I think the Kenzo shirt just went up a notch in my books.
    Channeling Mad Max?

    ReplyDelete
  10. I know one damn thing ... If I had Robert Pattinson at my disposal and a camera with a memory card that holds 3000 shots .... I'm gonna take a shit ton of pictures!  Just sayin'  :P  LOL

    ReplyDelete
  11. Can't you just imagine him laughing his head off between smoldery stares!?!

    ReplyDelete
  12. That's a nice way of putting it.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Would love to know what he's thinking.... I like the look...different.... the dark side of Rob....I like

    ReplyDelete
  14. I LOVE these! It has a twisted futuristic wild Goth-Armaggedon vibe...but, also very artistic like something J. Depp would consider...it's theatrical which is good for Rob...it allows him to be a character which he probably really enjoys in a photoshoot rather than posing as himself...but what do I know? He rocks it though, that I DO know!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. of course there are tons more...how could there not be?! i mean, seriously, any photographer who has a man like that for a subject is going to fill up a few memory cards in no time!

    ReplyDelete
  16. totally....you know he is just giggling away every chance he gets!

    ReplyDelete
  17. She's been known to photograph nudes too ... hmmmm.... I wonderrrrrr.....
    ;o
nahhhhh!!!  Rob wouldn't do that ....
    :P
    or would he????
    LOL

    ReplyDelete
  18. Wow. Ummm....well, it's something, alright. Rob's a sexy guy, but this is not my fav photoshoot. Frankly, the more I look at these pics the funnier they get.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mighty Damn Fine, if you ask me.  I like my men rugged. Actually, I like my men anyway I can get them!  I prefer nekkid as the day they were born, so that coat has gotta go!

    ReplyDelete
  20. what is it with you and the damn coats, woman????!!!  LOL

    ReplyDelete
  21. Now you've sort of met daddy in New York right you've heard him talk about his process rigth?
Well...you thing she's going to run through 3000 shots ...nah nah his kids are chips off the old block. you gone to her web page and seen her portfolio...so these shouldn't really be a surprise.
Personally I love them...very out there great composition making the most of Rob's best feature his eyes. Post apocalyptic or post Edward ? Yeah Rob kick the competition to the curb!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Exactly. The first thing that came to mind was Mad Max. I like it!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Love his hair and face on the 1st pic. The outfit is kind of villain-ish,..Idk, the accessories are kind of intimidating, like a mysterious/dangerous character. Anyway, taking out the outfit, the face & hair combo is my favorite Rob look!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Love Rob, but not really feeling the coat :p

    ReplyDelete
  25. I have a feeling that people on other sites are going to rip his apart for this lol

    ReplyDelete
  26. ehh, not a great look i feel... maybe it's just me, but does he seem a bit uncomfortable? def not his style but those baby blues with just a hint of bloodshot? to die for.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I just think it would be hard to,em,er,F*CK with those spikes!  I think the nekkid the better!!!!! JMO

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well I certainly can't hug him with that jacket on...love his hair but tis a bit too edgy dark for me, but it is interesting to see him with different looks/photoshoots :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. yes, absolutely....embracing a darker element...it's going to be very exciting...the many sides he is going to reveal....

    ReplyDelete
  30. i bet he's just in character...

    ReplyDelete
  31. WOW rob...right on!!  That's great that Caitlin Cronenburg shot these...and coming from the Cronenburg family of course she isn't going to do 'plain old vanilla' photoshoot!!  I agree, it's very mad max-ish, which was appropriate to do on the eve of leaving for OZ.  I like it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. yeah, if they can't see an artist for what he is...i really think Rob could take it to a whole other level if given the chance...transformation in so many ways...

    ReplyDelete
  33. The second photo, CARNIVOROUS.
The first photo,he looks like he's from DUNE.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Have you seen Little Ashes?  I gotta do some editing but I need to change my Avi

    ReplyDelete
  35. Is it just me or does rob look like arnold squartznager or however u pronounce his name

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yep Madmax younger and better looking brother.

    ReplyDelete
  37. omg totally! (swooning just thinking about it. love that laugh...)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well, well, Happy Halloween to you too.

No, I get it. Kinda like Wes Bentley in Ghost Rider. "Feel like my skulls on fire." Definitely a dynamic change.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Maybe a tie-in with the Rover character?  The movie is supposed to be kinda Mad Max-ish?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wonderful !!!  Best  photoshoot ever !   Thank you, Caitlin Cronenberg !

    ReplyDelete
  41. I certainly like the look, very alienish, dark, chanelling his evil side. The hair is sexier than ever. Unique photoshoot, I will like to see the entire photoshoot. Something different, hand down to Rob for always doing things outside of the box.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Well.....this is interesting LOL

    ReplyDelete
  43. I find these pics INSANELY Sexy!!!! Holy hotness!!! *fans self*

    ReplyDelete
  44. there are no words !!!!  how can he possibly get more good looking???  but he does--i LOVE these shots---WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh my.... I love, love, love, love, love, LOVE these. Compelling, mesmering, awe-inspiring, hypnotising all-consuming sexiness...

But the sexiest thing? He STILL doesn't 'get' his appeal, even after all this time.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Rob, the dorkiest thing on the planet is not your toy ciggie.  It's that jumbo safety pin on your trench coat!  They could have done away with the safety pin.  Seriously.

    However, I love you still.

    ReplyDelete
  47. He's beautiful. And I don't mind it being all crazy outlandish. That's Vogue. And Rob pulls it off....in spades. He's got it...yeah, baby, he's got it.....

    ReplyDelete
  48. OHHHH...I think I just peed myself!! GAHHH!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Did you? Very sad face he has here. I am not sure he like that outfit. He is James Bond type of a man for me- not a freak.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I wonder what goes through his mind when they present these ideas to him and what he thinks about while he is being photographed for these? I like how it is different and interesting especially the jacket, coat, dress thingy. Only Rob could make me think it is interesting, anyone else I would just cringe and move on. High fashion is not my thing, but I do like the artistic nature of it. Rob's hair is always a work of art, here it is over the top sex hair. Man if you ever wanted a caption contest the top pic would be good.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I guess I just find this look very, very Hot!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. He looks mighty fine from the neck upwards but yeah the outfit is not my taste.

    ReplyDelete
  53. is he wearing that jacket to protect himself from rabid fans ???

    india

    ReplyDelete
  54. LOVE that this is not your typical photoshoot... a photoshoot is supposed to wow you, make you think. This does both. Love it. Well done Caitlin Cronenberg for thinking outside the box.

    ReplyDelete
  55. HOLY GOD!

    That is all.

Okay. It's not all but it's all my oxygen deprived brain can come up with at the moment (this is what happens when all the air is sucked out of your body and you're left too feeble to suck any more back in). Lemme go change tanks and maybe I'll be back. If not, it's cos I died.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Rob from Thunderdome! This is a futuristic shoot. I get it. Maybe trying to get us in the mood for The Rover? I love it. This is what of the things I love about him. He does things totally different from his personality like getting in character for the shoot. Remember the homage he did for David Cronenberg in Cannes? That was crazy in the best artistic way. I love his eyes in these pictures. Those EYES! They are so expressive is a crime to his peers. Last, I'll say he can do a hero based on his demeanor on these. The only thing I would change is the spikes and some of you complain about the promo shirt. LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I love this photoshoot! It's very artistic. But it does remind me of scifi theme and I'm a sci fi geek.

    ReplyDelete
  58. *snort* Well, I'm glad to see the wild hair again, but the outfit? RIDICULOUS, hideous, stupid... you get the drift. Rob looks like he is MISERABLE wearing it. He's not smoldering at the camera, he's thinking "OMG - what did I sign up for? They are not paying me enough for this sh*t!" Yes, he's completely aware of how stupid it looks and it shows!

    ReplyDelete
  59. terrible outfit and rob looks a little stupid lol

    ReplyDelete
  60. Wow! The second picture is amazing! So much emotion in those gorgeous eyes!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Gawd...he is so hot. Seriously... Mmmmmm....

    ReplyDelete
  62. My vibe is really a bunch of quick impressions: A Stranger In a Strange Land (not Heinlein's);  And don't get too close. Anyone who gets close will be hurt. But the vulnerability and sadness in the face tells that it is not out of mean-ness, but rather either out of being hurt, so he needs to keep others away, or someone else's mean-ness, forcing him to be like that, like the gladiators who were blinded and bound with vests that had knives sticking out and were then shoved into the arena with a blinded sibling or spouse or friend. They would go to embrace after hearing each other's voice.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Well, if there's one thing that this shoot proved, it's that Caitlin definitely a Cronenberg.  From what I've read so far in the comments, it's love it/hate it.  Just like good ole' Dad.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Perhaps the spikes were pinned on to keep him safe (hence, safety pin) from being hurt?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Looking at the pics again it reminded me of "Rebel Without A Cause." Though Rob's version is,"Rebel With A Cause",rebelling against the conformity of Hollywood.Fighting against the stereo type.JMO..

Go Rob! Do your own thing!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Woah...those are some seriously face altering rings he has on.....and his hair is on another planet!!  I can see a little 2012/13 mad max happening there, dangerous spikey coat would have been better as a jacket with some HOT distressed denim covering his fine arse.....overall I am liking it! (inner monologue argues...."liking it"...oh come on you LOVE it, he is HOT just admit it!!!)
    *sigh* .....ok...... gorgeous man!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Omg, thats all I kept saying. Different to say the least but I still love the heck out of him! Love reading everyone's comments.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Rob looks very different in these shots but still as sexy and gorgeous as ever.  I love his hair : )

    ReplyDelete
  69. Very stylized and artistic.  It is nice to see Rob in a different kind of photo shoot.  I can appreciate these pics for what they are.  And who knew how hard our Rob can rock some guyliner.  Adam Lambert has got nothing on Rob in that department!  Hee hee!

    ReplyDelete
  70. I LOVE ROB... but yeah, he looks stupid. hahaha!!!...and from the way he's exuding in the pose, he is not very happy about it. LOL! I can't wait for talk show hosts or entertainment people share their thoughts!

    ReplyDelete
  71. oh and wait...is that a giant safety pin on the first picture? No wonder he looks the way he looks. hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  72. OMMMFFFFGGGGGG.......Holy Shit I LOVE This IT IS Sooo Artistic!!!!!  I LOVE ME A BAD BOY ROB HERE!!!!!!

I wonder if this goes along with the Rover HOLY HELL I hope so!!!!   This is got to be the fun part of being an
actor to wear some really neat costumes.....This is so Awesome to me!!!!  Rob can make anything look GREAT!!!
OMG The Hair, The Hair.....Wow just Wow!!!!  God The Eyes are just a killer....Wow he takes my breath away!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Whoa - Solas - that is intense.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Gotta keep coming back and taking another look but I still laugh every time I see the first one, and God knows I don't want to laugh at the pretty. It almost looks like a manip ?  I can just see his face when they showed him this (coat?) Probably laughed his ass off but I  love how he will do anything. Second pic tho is sexy as hell. What is the airplane carcass about?  Is it from LOST?  :)  Wait a minute... he did a shoot w/ a leather jacket and spikes(?)studs(?) a couple years ago.Anyone remember those?

    ReplyDelete
  75. THat's me. :-)

I am from a people that started out in tents.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I thought they might be recent cause we haven't seen both long top hair and side hair until recently.

    ReplyDelete
  77. futuristic western; his description of The Rover

    ReplyDelete
  78. love this reckless , artistic look !! Rob dares to go where no man  dares to go !! He loves to experiment and never shies away from something new ....I really really like that !! Its like he is game for anything and wants his life to be a series of exciting new experiences !! Luv yu Rob !!

    ReplyDelete
  79. ummm... sons of anarchy meets the matrix?
    love his hair...
    love his face...
    love his heart...
    love his MIND! :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. My first reaction - I held my breath. I can't find the right words to express how much I like these pictures. This is something completely different. Very sophisticated. And  very... unexpected. If Robert wants to break with the image of Edward, this is the best way he can do it. Once again, smart move :-)
I can't stop looking at these photos...

    ReplyDelete
  81. excellent thoughts Solas....yes, the dichotomy of sadness or vulnerability in his expression and then the spikey jacket and wildly confident HOT hair....I love these more and more.....Also loving the RINGS

    ReplyDelete
  82. Free your mind. This is art photography. Savor it. Feel it.

    ReplyDelete
  83. From the neck up  - love it ! His hands and rings etc - love it! His eyes - love it!  The outfit - don't love it.  Artistic ? -  Yes.      Does artistic always translate to good?   - No.

    ReplyDelete
  84.  Thats was the first thing what came in to my mind.

    ReplyDelete
  85. In a way, though--isn't it like Edward? Trying to keep people away?

I am shielded in my armour.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Fyi, miranda, it's Arnold Schwarzenegger :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Was his hair ever that long, even just before he went to Australia?
I like Solas' thoughts like him defending his heart with spikes against attacks.  Caitlin was aware of his difficult situation this Summer and these past few weeks so maybe she wanted to do something with it.   It sounds very plausible to me.

In the top 5 of the best guyliners Rob went from zero to number one and dethroned Jack Sparrow!!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Metaphorically - yes. A little distant, a little absent, cautious, not of this world maybe. You described it beautifully below. But I was talking about his outward appearance. The way in which people perceive Edward. At these pictures he doesn't look like Edward, in which millions of Twilight's lovers fell in love. He is so far from it here.

    ReplyDelete
  89. you captured the essense beautifully , love your thoughts on this !!

    ReplyDelete
  90. True art forces us to think. Looking for hidden meanings, finding answers to the question of what the author had in mind. We may never find the true answer, but the searching is a pleasure in itself.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Hey Tink did you only print two of the set on purpose... as a tease :) I believe there's a few more

    ReplyDelete
  92. Now that i am wide awake....tell we what you really think....lol

    ReplyDelete
  93. RSA: Added crops that I made for myself....wanted to share

    ReplyDelete
  94. oh....this photoshoot so far looks ......different...actually i excpected it to be a badass jacket, but it`s a coat.....and i`m not sure about this coat....BUT....Rob looks unbelievably GORGEOUS!!!! love his face, his hair, his stare and really like the concept.....so, looking forward to seeing the rest)))

    ReplyDelete
  95. Oh those Cronenbergs like to push buttons don't they!  The second photo is breathtaking...those EYES !!  The first photo...not sure...love the whole punky, spiky theme of this shoot, but I find the shape of the coat unflattering, I think it's the collar...  but anyway, it's Rob and he's spectacular and as usual I'm left wanting MORE..!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  96. yeah my thoughts were....the hair, the hair WOW!! must have used a bucket of product on that do! :).......imagine being the stylist running your........fingers..........through.............his..................hair.................................................g.o.n.e

    ReplyDelete
  97. Wow, he has so many different looks doesn't he? He's very versatile, this will fare him very well.

Oh and I might get that coat for my husband for Christmas.........bwhaaaa haaaa.

    ReplyDelete
  98. after spending a lot of time looking at these, i am still at a loss for words. all i can say is that i LOVE LOVE LOVE these photos! super hot.

i hope this ends up being one of those photoshoots that keeps on giving!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Good grief, he looks like something out of Mad Max or the Matrix.  Not that I am complaining, it is just so different . . .

    ReplyDelete
  100. i forgot who shares the left eye fetish with me. it looks incredible in the lightened crop. the shape is like a dove's profile and so hypnotizing.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I remember having written a similiar comment when Cosmopolis was realesed! "Open your mind, this is art!" LOL

    ReplyDelete
  102. Hey, you can't shock me now... I appreciate and enjoy your honesty.......and my umbrella has been kidnapped... lol

    ReplyDelete
  103. I keep looking at these, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm getting a Jared Leto vibe off of the look, & I hate Jared Leto.

    ReplyDelete
  104.  I can only agree with you in a BIG way, just LOVE it.

    ReplyDelete
  105. He is dressed as Zod.......that was probably more his choice than we can imagine....LOL

    ReplyDelete
  106. I call this edgy, wild, over-the-top mesmerizing art...a human in art form...an otherworldly look for a man, the only man, who could pull off this look of dramatic flair... who the hell else could pull this off so grandly -- you've heard of Mad Max, now meet Mad Rob (and what a specimen he is!!!) -- all this imagery needs is a script to go with it, the screen will combust!

    ReplyDelete
  107. I think these pictures are terrible!
Dragon Ball Z came out would have been!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Art is in the eye of the beholder.

    ReplyDelete
  109. See - great minds think alike! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  110. The left eye lover woud be me Tink ;-) and I´m melting here with the shape of it...... so wildcatish....

    ReplyDelete
  111. You know me well, Nov...... :))))

    ReplyDelete
  112. im sorry - no I cant take this one seriously - he looks f-hot if I only look above the neck lol. Maybe these were released around Halloween for a reason.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Awwww.....You expressed that beautifully, Alex!!!!!! You are a philosopher and a poetesse :)

    ReplyDelete
  114. A nice start to the day, huh? ;-D

    ReplyDelete
  115. very interesting thoughts Solas!

    ReplyDelete
  116. I've noticed in the HQ pics that he looks a little sunburnt....! hope they used plenty of SPF - don't want his beautiful perfect skin damaged !!!

    ReplyDelete
  117. O God, I'm not. Although, as a teenager, I wrote poems. When I go back to them sometimes, they don't seem to me even that bad. lol Just no rhymes. I wrote once that I'm hopeless in finding rhymes. :)
But seriously. I love photography. I am a fan of the work of Tomasz Gudzowaty. I see it in this (simple) way - when you look at the photo and you fall into raptures, that's it.

    ReplyDelete
  118. This photoshoot is really something to think about and that's what i like. it's a costume he wears, not an outfit we need to like. but we have to appreciate it for what it is and what it stands for. and if you dig deeper you can see the story behind it and might find it hot (if you haven't before LOL). superficially seen i see greasy hair and a mad and spacy looking anorak. but in character it's a future vision. he looks like a man who would survive just about everything. he stands for strength and wealth and style. regarding his face and his look i see the spikes equally as a symbole for vulnereability and strength. he looks like a future man after my heart. have i told you i'm kinda a scie fi fan? LOL.......i'm sure Rob had problems to keep a straight face but he must have a lot fun looking like that. not surprising the photos come from a Cronenberg. the family is frightenly talented.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I adore the close up shots of his face, but I must admit I don't like the clothes or the sticky-up hair.  I fully appreciate that this is art / fashion photography, but it is not a look I like on Rob but I applaude him for doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  120. i was confused for a sec (or longer) cuz i'm not used to you with a different avi...."True art forces us to think." absolutely!   :-)   and Rob is a true artist. that's part of why he is so fascinating.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I bloody agree with you, Miz! ;-) I like your way of thinking. Those pictures have something to tell us. We have to listen, not just to look at them.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I think he looks great, except for the coat/thing he is wearing, this prove the point that Rob can make any thing looks good!! Even a paper bag..sorry, a coat!

    ReplyDelete
  123. I'm not too crazy on this photoshoot. I love his intense look and mesmerising eyes but his hair sticks up so much it's making his head look too big for his body.
As for the coat...the less said the better.
I love futuristic looks but this reminds me of those silly B movies, or over the top catwalk fashion where the outfits are just plain weird.
I know photoshoots have to push the boundaries as an art form but this could have been so much better.
As we all know, Rob is pure sex on legs and yet this gives him a totally sexless androgynous look.
Maybe I'm just too old, so ignore me.
I just love Rob au naturelle.....he is perfect like that.

    ReplyDelete
  124. And because he can still surprise us. The simple fact is that because of him life tastes better.

    P.S. That's it! I'm back! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  125. Good morning! And OMG..... these are the most intense and artistic pictures I´ve ever seen of Rob!
One thing that I love about Rob so much is that he is willing to embark on experimental, crative processes and doesnt shy away to walk the save/mainstream road..... How wonderful that he got to do it with an artist like Caitlin C. I would really like to know what her approach to this shoot was. Solas ideas come close maybe? A Sky God who has to shield himself against the onslought......
And as Alex said below, the interesting thing about such a shoot is what feelings it evokes..... We know that he is/can do handsome (what else is new?) but he is transporting so much more in these pictures - there is a load of stories you can read out of them....
What irritates me from the visual pov a bit is the disproportion of his big head with the heavenward hair and the seamingly narrow shoulders (when we know that he has broad ones...) but I guess that was intended....

    ReplyDelete
  126. Not sure about his coat. Looks like something a female model should wear, the way it is cut. It looks kind of cheap, like taken from some obscure TV show about mad aliens. Perhaps that was the idea.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I don't like the coat either and actually laughed at the full length shot with his hair standing right up!!!! The close ups are good though the stare in those are very intense :)

    ReplyDelete
  128. umbrella? OMG. this is my real opinion "he loks perfect. vever looked this good,  coat -just a perfection"

    ReplyDelete
  129. Paul Atreides from Dune. I loved the book and the film than. I like this shoot.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Agree, but crossed with Dildano from Barbarella... ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  131. Hmmm, have to agree Kaz.  It's back to his modelling roots.  Almost like some of the shoots Kristen has done as far as clothing style goes.   Like that he's always pushing the envelope though.  Yep, maybe I'm showing my age too :)  Can't beat suit-Rob or grungy-Rob....

    ReplyDelete
  132. Hmm, the close up is Jared Leto meets Greenday and I love the vulnerable, wounded emo look but the one with the hair ... not so much. Rob's face is too classical to pull of a futuristic manga look. Still very interesting to look at from an artistic point of view...

    ReplyDelete
  133. The look is great, just cannot figure the coat, I think if they slung a gun belt over his shoulders it would look better than what is sticking on the coat.  But still handsome Rob.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Totaly agree with you Miss Mizz ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  135. On second thought, he actually looks hungover and cross that he's standing under a baking hot sun, wrapped in a sheet of black PVC. He carries all these indignities well. Worra trooper.

  136. I'm sorry, I think that the jacket is  more than a little freaky..

    ReplyDelete
  137.  I'm in agreement with you also...I had wondered what the "spikey thing" was in a previous post....now I see...it's really quite strange....however...I bet he had a giggle when putting on this coat...then got into serious mode for the shoot. His modeling experience does come thru though for these sort of shoots he's a natural at it.

  138. poetry doesn´t need to rhyme necessarily it´s about the feeling words can evoce in us - and your´s do!!! Have to look up this photographer....

    ReplyDelete
  139. Oh I definitely agree that art is in the eye of the beholder.  Just that in this instance....."hmmm"  is all I can say about this first picture.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I also love the intense look he has on his face, and the hair. He is just a very versatile actor/person. I love this shoot, because it's not trying to make a fashion statement, it's showing his versatility and his ability to take risk!!!

    ReplyDelete
  141. Wow, this is weird.

I like the hair. But the coat not so much. It has that futuristic Mad Max/Eddie Scissorhands vibe. Futuristic apocalyptic punk biker from hell. But he looks good. This is certainly weird for Lanvin to make a trenchcoat like this, I thought they were more classical.

I hope he will wear different more mainstream clothes on the rest of the photoshoot.

  142. This is definitely a masculine coat, it's fastened to the right. Maybe it looks cheap to you, but I'm sure that this coat has a tag with a well-known name and the price out of this world. It's Vogue after all.

  143. Oh I agree not everything should be a fashion statement that would just be boring and I'm sure Rob probably liked this because it was different and we know he likes to take a few risks ;) Lets just say its not on the list as one of my favourites lol :)

    ReplyDelete
  144. Oh Man!!!  I love this!  He just gets better and better and will kill Dior. He exudes "back the hell off". This man surprises me every day.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Not sure about the vibe ...but parts of me are tingling...lol woohoo...hot man hot pics..@<@

    ReplyDelete
  146. Agree not my fave look on or for him. Yes, I also believe he probably liked it because it was so different. Love the eyes!

    ReplyDelete
  147. Interesting!!!!! Caitlin Cronenberg sees a futuristic Rob. Certainly not boring.

  149. Its always in the eyes *sighs* ;)

  150. Anyone else just think he looks like a human transformer? I keep staring at that full length picture waiting for him to change into a machine...

    ReplyDelete
  151. Saints preserve us... * concentrate - breath *
I don't have time to wax lyrical right now, got to go get dh cast taken off....
So all I can say is. HOT ART ... Love it!
    I will be back.

  152. Thank you, Whence. Please check out his work. His website is also available in Deutsch version ;) One of my favorite essay is "Shaolin Temple". But apart from the people, he photographs wildlife beautifully.

  153. I see- Edward now age 6000- somehow along the journey he managed to loose his Family / Bella and Renesmee. But he found a way to become human again ( tells his scruf) to join Bella and Renesmees souls in heaven after his death. Problem is: he still does not belive in sth like a vampire soul ...thats why the second pic is a spitting image of Edward Cullen in Twilight by Cathrine Hardwick , sure except the trenchcoat...Oh poor guy (swoon)

  155. Unpopular opinion.............Rob looks GORGEOUS,but that think he's wearing is ridiculous.I don't care if it's artistic or not,to me it's awful. The only think that saves this is Rob's gorgeousness.

    ReplyDelete
  156. good comment, interesting avi, cool name...I am thinking about changing my name to ShirleyStrachan... what do you think? Good to see you here x

    ReplyDelete
  157. Wow, Alex, his pictures are phantastic! Alle of them! I particularily liked the Yoga pictures and the freerunning ones :)

    ReplyDelete
  158. I was first thinking of a remake of Mad Max, but were are the car and the guns. I don't like these kind of outfit but Rob still is gorgeous.

    ReplyDelete
  159.  WHY do all these ppl have to  be a critic so? geez! rob do not live for you likness, the acket looks cheap, okay go try and buy it, the jacket look female! but yes he remind me of jerod leto! but it's not my business, the majority are critics here, rob love if you come to your home blog, i love it, even if i belong n the 1%,and only thing i like your hair shorter, keep it short and loook like the 26yr old that you are! i read you did this shoot on the 18th oct! well i love it, plain and simple...

    ReplyDelete
  160. I know right!
Something strange is happening to me each time I leave and come back and look at these pics? I find myself being more and more into them. This sexy, wild, savage, rugged, punk rock, fierce, rough, yet very Pristine look is arousing a feeling in me, and it's a good one!!!!! I am loving it. Ah

    ReplyDelete
  161. I love it, it reminds me of us modeling career when he was a teen and you weren't really sure what to make of it. I like it because he is bold and confident with his attire, from hats to the back, to the questionable Australian red carpet shirt, remember the shoot where he looked amish. What attracts me about it is that Robert looks confident within himself which just HOT to me, of course every shoot won't be him walking out of the Gucci fall line but thats what makes it great, he takes chances even if people are going to disagree with certain looks but that gives him a power that I really love at that he seems to do what he wants. Love those eyes and rings ROB!

    ReplyDelete
  162. Hate the clothes, he looks to bungled up, but then I always like Rob wearing much less.  Love his hair and intense look though.  Def wont be rushing out to buy the mag.

    ReplyDelete
  163. I don't understand  the outfit and spikes. Its weird but its our Rob and he is just gorgeous

    ReplyDelete
  164. The hair, the face, the eyes, the man... two thumbs up... the spike around the shoulders not so good, but until I see him wearing that everyday then no.  He's an actor doing roles and he's going to do a futuristic role... testing I suppose.  This wasn't suppose to be for a fashion magazine... was it? I bet that outfit looks better on him than some of the models out there. :-D

    ReplyDelete
  165. I know, just have to keep looking ;)

    ReplyDelete
  166. I agree totally. This photoshoot doesn't work for me on several levels, still he always brings something to it- he's a beautiful guy.

    ReplyDelete
  167. I tried to find some good in it, just no. Is that eyeliner or eyeshadow under his eyes, ewww.  I love his eyes, but no make-up please. The outfit, fail.  I'd rather the crazy paisley shirt again. Normally I like Rob's look, but when he's not in plain jeans or tightfitting suit, he's just not Rob.

    ReplyDelete
  168. " as a symbole for vulnereability and strength".....so well expressed, Mizzz ....the entire aparataje are in the heart and throat area, actually ... and the head ( hair) turned toward heaven.....whith  this stare and performance that seems to transcend all our readings ...So so  beautiful !!!.....and touching...

    ReplyDelete
  169. the wardrobe is weird but it fits in with the sci fi concept photo, maybe they are trying to show him as  possible star of such a movie? - obviously exaggerated... but it shows he can pull it off at least ;) he could look amazing as a futuristic alien/human lol not sure if he'd be into those movies, but who knows?

    ReplyDelete
  170. OMFG!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! ROB LOOKS BADASS AND HE IS JUST GORGEOUS AND THE OUTFIT IS AWESOME

    ReplyDelete
  171. I don't see he hurt and pain Solas but then I'm probably the oddball here...
    I see strength and determination.

    ReplyDelete
  172. LOL... I wonder what Summit would do if he shows up as some of BD2 premieres looking like that?   Sorry... just been giddy.. we know he's step out in some dynamite suit.

    ReplyDelete
  173. No one can ever say the man doesn't take risks.  I've always been a massive fan of artistic shoots, ones that are edgy and push the envelope.  One of the things I adore about Rob is that he's never conventional.  Everything he is doing right now, from the roles that he's taking to his photoshoots to his life in general push beyond convention and I absolutely love it.  Say what you want about the clothes.  You're going to love them or hate them, and so be it.  But the man himself looks amazing; intense, hard, stunning.

My feeling, other than the fact that Rob is always amazing, is that this shoot is doing exactly what it was designed to do.  Love it or hate it, we're talking about it.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I think you guys are over thinking the photos with the protecting his heart ...sorry JMO.
When I look at these photos I see strength, power and masculinity.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Not so odd (at least in this case ;-)) I can see hints of that.

There is other stuff going on as well--what looks like a crashed aircraft-- landing in a place/situation one did not plan, one must be wary and prepared, even if one is strong and determined,  especially if it seems like a dangerous or harmful territory.

    ReplyDelete
  176. HI!--I didn't get any email from you--did you sent it to solas18 at aol dot com? What did you put in the subject?

    ReplyDelete
  177. Hmm. Don't know how to put into words what I feel about these shots. Heart-gripping? Maybe not exactly, but it certainly grips something inside you. Or is it just his penetrating stare? Either way, am excited to see more from this shoot. Gotta love and embrace surprises. Especially if it's from Rob. :)

  178. Jazz_Girl brilliant comment!
This man in this shoot is all about masculinity, strength and power.
They aren't any hidden messages of pain or anguish here or protecting his heart...really I think its time to let go of that image.

He has moved on with this shoot from the conventional straight up photo spreads that are dime a dozen...to something that is really edgy and suits his "take a risk" personality. I think we are now starting to see the real Rob step forward and take command of his future. But that is JMO.

And Jazz_Girl you are right this is artistic photo shoot!
People you should check out Caitlin's other work on her website if you like modern art and photography this woman has buckets of talent..
But just like her Dad...she isn't everyone's cup of tea.

  179. Bless you NIMFM... I'm so glad you said that!!

  180. I don't think there is necessarily an image of pain that we are projecting (although that may be valid depending on when the photos were taken), but it is an interpretation of face--the position of the eyebrows to me speaks of caution and vulnerability and pain--think of times when has shown determination, strength, power as himself or in character--the brows are not like that--think of him as vulnerable and cautious and you will see the brows this way. Example-- Edward at the first Twilight in the Lion and Lamb scene, also at the ballet studio when he sees Bella in pain. The brows were like this.

    ReplyDelete
  181.   I love them all, but,   "walks and hides behind the sofa" - I think he is projecting pain here and it leaps out at me - I say again - were these photos taken during his crisis with KS - Rob has smouldered and showed pain before, but to me these are projecting this even more so - as if it is real.  OK - he's an actor and it may be nothing more, but to me there is something very real coming through with this shoot.
