New/Old Robert Pattinson interview from Cannes: Talks about being off work, Cosmopolis and more

We first posted part of Raya's interview HERE (really good and you should check it out again) but this video included more Rob goodness!

Talks about being off work for a long time and not by choice. Also teases that he'll do a 5 year run of work now. Oh how I hope that's somewhat true :) Additional talk about Cosmopolis, David Cronenberg and Eric.

Cute interview with sweet smiles and man giggles.

  4. Wow!  We get a little DuRob and Edward along with Eric Packer!  Thanks for this post Tink!  and I'm with Maria, the one thing that Rob said that stuck out to me ... is that he needed reassurance.  GMTA Maria.
Do we know when the U.S. gets the Cosmopolis DVD yet?  Soon I hope.  :)

  5. I'll always miss Cannes Rob, until the next time he'll be there :))  I can't imagine interviewers not liking him when he's doing interviews.  So not a star and that given just makes him a star.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I've just checked.....Amazon says ours is 12th November but another site says yours is 1st January!!  can that be right?

    ReplyDelete

  17. I signed up for an alert when it becomes available for pre-order.

    ReplyDelete
  18. nope.  adblock removes all that extra stuff for me.  and that's just the way I like it!  lol  :P

    ReplyDelete
  19. Can you not pre-order in a store so that you can actually go and pick it up on the day???

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm almost as excited about getting that DVD as I am seeing Breaking Dawn 2 ... lol.
I really loved Cosmopolis!  Rob should be beaming with pride over that movie!

    ReplyDelete
  21. just read what you wrote there leah ... lol.  wonder if she will reply?
chantal left a nicely scathing question as well!  ;D
    good job dear!  :D

    ReplyDelete
  22. Is that because you went to see Rob and David in New York...and there you discovered the awesomeness of the pairing of Mr. Cronenberg and Mr. Pattinson? ;o)
I have to admit I feel the same way...but probably for different reasons. That time in November is never a good time for me...I'll feel better about BD2 a week or so later.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Maria, you seem like a very strict teacher! , lol  Because of you, from now on I will watch every Rob's interview looking for differences between American or English :D

    ReplyDelete
  24. I could, somewhere I guess.  Target maybe.  But who knows what the weather will be in January ... the mail will be delivered even if it is too bad for me to get out and go to the store.  let them worry with the slick roads! lol  I think that used to be the motto of the united states postal service ...
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

    ReplyDelete
  25. Whence , congratulations on winning a Gold Star ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. LOL
I have to practice my coaching skills before I decide whether to pay £250 for the course!!!!  You are all the guinea pigs LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. I understand.    :)
that might have something to do with it.  David and Rob do seem to mesh very well together.  I have great respect for them both.  and having met David ... yeah, got some fan-girling going on ;D

    ReplyDelete
  28. AMEN... in January they can bring it to me!

    ReplyDelete
  29. awww thank you Maria *grinning sheepishly*
But you should have heared me yesterday when I was searching for words while skyping with Lotte...... She was so good and I just struggled and stuttered..... Listening and writing is one thing but to talk when you are not used to is a challenge...

    ReplyDelete
  30. That's a bit wordy....Our post office latest is "saw this and thought of you"  LOL as in see it , post it ;p

    ReplyDelete
  31. I imagine that January and February are nasty up in Canada.  You get any rain  yet?  We got a little last night ... and it's 45F now and breezy.  How about you?  Chili with beans for supper?

    ReplyDelete
  32. hahaha I knew it!! But they do make a great team.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Does listening to interviews help then??  Not only picking up what he says easier but your speech too?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would have gone American on that one....wasn't really dropped

    ReplyDelete
  35. I knew it! The times of these free lessons are coming to an end, but seriously paying £250 is a very high price even for such an excellent teacher as you are, lol

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh no, I'm cheap....guinea pigs get lessons free!! ;-)
The course is for work lol

    ReplyDelete
  37. Jan and Feb up here? Ah yeah cold and snowy all over! Rain that's all its been doing since yesterday...as long as it doesn't freeze I'm okay. Frankenstorm I guess reaching out to touch us.
OMG you're going to make me do the C to F conversion aren't you??? Okay wait right there..............haha we are the same temperature which is seasonal for us...but you must be a tad cool ;o) lol
Eric's cooking BBQ burgers and the guys are having poutine but me I'm having a salad with my burger ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The more I listen to them, the more I understand. On the 3rd replay I understand almost everything..... But it doesn´t help with the speaking - I´m just rusty and know that I have to exercise more to get into it. After a few hours it gets easier though....

  39. I enjoyed this interview, he seemed so relaxed.  I like seeing him like that.  I wish he would not be so self-deprecating, I can understand it to a point, but he needs to build up his confidence.  He is a humble man as we all know, but now with Cosmopolis under his belt, I want to see him exude that confidence and thrive in all his future projects.  He deserves it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. When you say 'almost everything' is it just the odd word you don't 'get' or certain parts?  Or does it just get harder the longer it goes on??

    ReplyDelete
  41. Listened again and yeah, you are right OF COURSE ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thank you Magda! Putting it on the mantle ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. It depends, sometimes it´s just one word sometime a whole sentence and it does get easier the longer it goes on. It also depends on the sound quality. When there is much noise or screeming it´s hard. Sometimes I can ask my doughter when she´s around because she is much better than me :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. You can always ask on here....nobody would mind...I CERTAINLY wouldn't ...you only have to say what 'time' on the interview you are stuck on lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. it's a bit cool.  haven't put a fire in the stove yet, but it won't be much longer.  now you're making me hungry.  :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks, dear, will do :-D And if you have any problems with your German, you know, I´d be pleased to help you out too ;-);-)

    ReplyDelete
  47. OMG I wouldn't know where to start...languages are not my thing!   My daughter took German at school and it seemed easier than French to me (which I did at school but remember nothing).  I wish LOL

    ReplyDelete
  48. Fire in the stove?
Do you heat your place with a wood burning stove?

    ReplyDelete
  49. YAY!!!!!!! one I can reply to!!  I can't stand it!!!

I loved the Rob and David interviews.  He seemed to boost Rob's confidence and maturity .

    ReplyDelete
  50. My heating is pumping out tonight...it's got very cold.  There was snow down the east of country last night!!! Hell.....hoping that wouldn't come for months!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. They seemed to have developed a very relaxed friendship....based on mutual respect and admiration. It's nice to see that!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. ITA in all the interviews in Cannes he just seemed so confident and happy with the movie he was there for it meant so much to him and it showed :) David and Cosmopolis really changed him I think :).......in a good way ;)

    ReplyDelete
  53. I watched all their interviews I could find.  Interesting and very informative!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I was going the write LMAO...but then I don't imagine you have to contend with a lot of snow for extend periods. My DH is from California the first winter up here we had record snow falls! The poor man...I handed him a shovel and said have at it you need to shovel out the walkway and the car. He opened the door to 2 feet of drifting snow I thought he was going to have a heart attack just looking at it....I should have gotten a picture of him it was priceless!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Of what I heared German is more difficult than French. Our grammar is really weird.....

    ReplyDelete
  56. Me too! David is such friendly and smart man and obviously very taken with Rob and vice versa :) I loved how he said that he felt the withdrawal from Rob or something like that, when they had to part after the Cosmopolis promotion tour.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Was just looking out the window and it is snowing :-D (I´m a real child when it comes to the first snow in the year...)

    ReplyDelete
  58. I am learing French and its grammar is extremely hard, not to mention understanding French people talking is very hard to me as well. From what I heard my native language Polish is one of the hardest languages to learn mostly due to pronunciation and its grammar is quite complicated...It looks like people struggle with every single language :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. As much as I love snow, I hope there won't be a blizzard in January in Vienna, lol if you know what I mean ;)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Got any rain yet????????  OMG  It's p****ed down all bloody year here!!  I'm coming to stay with you!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  61. I don´t think we ever had a blizzard here LOL so I think we´re on the safe side.....

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm sorry if I haven't replied to anybody that I should have......SOMETHING needs to get its act together.....I can't play any longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Thanks, I feel much better now :D, because I have a million thoughts running through my head about what could possibly go wrong and I will not see BL...

    ReplyDelete
  64. I learned French too and yes it´s not easy, I agree. I have not practiced for a long time so I have a hard time speaking, listening is better though. And I heared that Polish is very complicated too...I wouldn´t understand one word unfortunately :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Maybe give IT a good rest? restart? update? be nice with it? sing a lullaby and hopefully in the morning everything will be fine again? I´m waiting there for our sunday morning chat ;)

    ReplyDelete
  66. You can always practice some polish words watching "Water for elephants" ;)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Everything will be fine :) Bobby will sing his blues and we will sway&swoon

    ReplyDelete
  68. Right! Almost forgot about that!

    ReplyDelete

  75. Looking forward to seeing Cosmopolis again. I guess I should go pre-order on Amazon. Twilight followed by New Moon showing on FX channel here in a few minutes. Will be watching while waiting for the storm.

    ReplyDelete
  76. we sure do!  no heat as good as wood heat as far as I'm concerned.  don't cost a dime either.  you don't?  as cold as it gets in Canada?

    ReplyDelete
  77. LMAO Lord I love you! Some people do have wood burners to augment the central or just cause wood burning fire is pretty. But as the main source of heat no way. Up here its natural gas, oil or electricity to heat with in private homes.

    ReplyDelete
  78. why is there no way to reply to your latest comment???? wtf disqus????
the only drawback to the wood heat ... is the home owners insurance ...
but boy it sure is toasty inside when it's 15 F outside!  lol   :P

    ReplyDelete
  79. Disqus hates me??? LOL
Well I'm glad your lily white butt is warms particularly since you've been so sick. 15 F that's not that cold Jen...lmao

    ReplyDelete
  80. Maybe you wouldn't understand Polish, but the Silesian yes. I'm Silesian. My regional dialect is derived from German, so... :-)

    ReplyDelete
  81. Oh, that sounds interesting! So you are from up in the north I assume?

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm from the South of Poland. I live in the border area, near the Czech Republic. I live almost above you, just a little further to the east. Actually, it's closer from my place to Vienna than to Warsaw! lol :-)

    ReplyDelete
  83. Ah, ok :) As you live so nearby, don´t you wanna come too to Bobby Longs concert in January along with Magda?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Sorry to reply to you so late, but my dashboard doesn't update recent comments today, and on the site some of the comments lost the "reply" button.
Thank you, thank you very much for the invitation, but I'm afraid that my work won't let me go on any trip. The beginning of the year is a very hot period in my work :-(

    ReplyDelete
  85. Maybe some other time then..... :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. With pleasure :-) I was once in Austria, passing through, on my way to Italy. Breathtaking views (I was going through some mountain tunnels). But a trip to Vienna is in my plans for the future. :-)
