Christina Ricci to Co-Star with Robert Patinson in Bel Ami

Multiple sources including Daily Mail and Production Weekly are reporting that Christina Ricci has been cast for Bel Ami, Robert Pattinson's new project.

Saucy escape from the Twilight zone

Robert Pattinson begins rehearsals next month with a line-up of leading ladies including Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci.

And that's just for starters. They will be preparing for a screen version of Guy de Maupassant's 19th-century novel Bel Ami about a thoroughly shameless Lothario who goes through life with an open fly.

Pattinson, who saunters through those Twilight movies like a tomcat who lapped up a lot of cream, will play Georges Duroy, a Frenchman of humble beginnings who works his way up from being a minor office clerk to become a powerful editor possessing great political influence.

Each rung up the ladder represents the influence of a powerful woman. More often than not, once he has finished with them he starts on their daughters. Thurman will play Madeleine, Duroy's first conquest.

Ricci takes on the role of Clotilde, whose husband is often away, and Scott Thomas plays Virginie, the wife of Duroy's editor-in-chief. He likes her daughter, too.

Directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod are meeting three other actresses who will play women with whom Duroy also associates.

The directing duo are from the theatre and are adept at working with classic texts and making them entertaining and accessible. More importantly, they also know how to get the best work out of their cast.

The picture is being produced by Uberto Pasolini, but pop visionary Simon Fuller is executive producer in what is his first foray into big-screen films.

George Clooney vs Robert Pattinson: Clash of the Sexiest Men Alive

What a tough life for Up in the Air Golden-Globe nominee Anna Kendrick – jetting between film sets with a two-time PEOPLE Sexiest Man Alive winner and with one of the world's favorite vampires.

Shedding light on shooting Up in the Air with George Clooney and Twilight with Robert Pattinson, Kendrick, 24, tells Ellen DeGeneres on the TV's host's Jan. 8 show, "George gave me such a hard time about shooting Twilight. Whenever I came back, it was like, 'Oh sorry, this isn't the Twilight set. You're not working with Mr. Handsome.' He called Rob 'Mr. Handsome.' "

But Kendrick admits she helped egg on the pseudo-competition, bringing back a GQ magazine that she had Pattinson sign, "To George, Best of Luck. Hang in there. Love Rob."

Clooney's response? He signed his Esquire magazine, "Dear Rob, Thanks for all the inspiration. I'm a huge fan. Love, George, two-time 'Sexiest Man Alive.'

The People have spoken - no award for Robert Pattinson

So no People's Choice award for Rob tonight - he was up for Favourite Movie Actor but Johnny Depp beat him to the punch.

That's OK, don't look so sad Rob, you're number one to us ;-)



The Twilight Saga did bring home four awards: Favourite Movie, Franchise, On-screen Team (which included Rob, TayTay and Kristen) and TayTay won the Best Breakout Actor as well. Congrats Twilight!

Socialite Life gives us the scoop on the upcoming cover shoot for Vogue Magazine.



Remember Me's Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin shot some intimate photos at the Los Angeles County Museum Of Art. Sources tell eonline that the mildly attractive (Kat - I think the source needs a trip to the eye doctor - mildly attractive???) duo were being snapped for Vogue magazine's annual "Power Issue," which goes to press around the same time Remember Me hits theaters in March.

Photographer Norman Jean Roy shot the co-stars in several different exterior and interior locations around the museum, and made sure the layout would have gritty sex appeal for the issue.

"'It's kind of edgy in a Vogue way,' the source says. 'Emilie is wearing high fashion but it's like sort of tattered-looking. Rob is mainly in suits.'" (Kat: Mainly in suits... kill me now!)

Pattinson and de Ravin were able to be shot in private, since locations were blocked off with blue tarps and security.

Hot stuff.
