Associated Content confirms Rob won't be at Kids' Choice Awards tonight. I was kinda hoping he would attend a How To Be After Party while in LA but I guess he is just hiding out, trying to depress himself enough to become Robward :)
Oh and by the way Rob's picture is STILL at KCA's homepage...

I think that Taylor's perpetually cheery attitude is great for a kid's award show. It (his attitude) sometimes grates on my nerves, but he is a good choice for this event. Is he alone from the twilight cast?

ReplyDeleteIt's somewhat a relief Robert is not attending the KCA. He needs to take a break from all the press work and just concentrate on his regimen in Vancouver. This is not to downplay the importance of events like KCA, but Robert is on the brink of over-exposure. If you read all the articles written about him, they're mimics of each other. The only thing different is the name of the magazine. If you're a private person like Rob, there are only a few things you're willing to talk about to the press. And he's seriously running out of them. The Japan video interview showed serious signs of fatigue. He needs a break. I think he made a VERY GOOD call to back out on this one. It's always good when Rob draws the line and simply says NO.

ReplyDeleteCrazy - gurl yeah, but all the hygiene rumors taken out of context from his own self-deprecation and the reposting of the skanks he was supposedly with during and after the oscars (save for Natalie Portman whom i love very much) are just so tiring. It somewhat reeks of Zac Efron's handlers trying desperately hard to put down Rob because Zac's "17 Again" is about to tank big time. Glad he bowed out of KCA so they can't run fashion comparisons between him and Efron or "who's hotter" or "who has better hair" then make it seem like Rob isn't making the cut. A part of me want him to get out of Vancouver and just go back to London. But I guess he hangs around in Vancouver because his musician friends are in the US or are headed there and will be touring. Well, that will be good for his soul.

ReplyDeleteWould you believe that the stinkin' director blew off his commitment to be there and lead a talk afterwards? This was at the Burbank Internat'l Film Festival.
I wanted to ask him how he could put together a soundtrack featuring Rob on three songs (where he plays awfully as his character, Art)? So curious about that one.
Anyway, DH is practically a convert and thinks Rob is really talented and liked that this film didn't go for a "Disney Ending." Prior to the screening he kept telling me he saw a tall, young guy with a black hoodie in the back with a British accent...but I wouldn't bite and look back!
And me? Well, I'm just mesmerized watching all of Rob's expressions. I don't think this was an easy role to pull off. He plays such an odd guy who does goofy things, yet he doesn't stray too far off the path and risk becoming Jim Carrey/Jerry Lewis. I've always loved Rob's lack of vanity. Rob is in virtually every scene, making "How to Be" a must-see.
We arrived about three hours before the screening and watched several films while staking out our seats. By the time of the screening, the audience was about 95% women, most obviously Twilighters. I must say that some were a bit agressive and frightening!
