Okay...does anyone really believe this stripper stuff? Star Magazine is not exactly known for its responsible journalism. So he went to the club twice because he was infatuated with a dancer...I guess this might be a "safer" way to get female attention since the relationship between the strip club and its purveyors is pretty clear. He can walk in, get some sexy attention and then leave no strings attached. I just don't know. Do I want him to be able to go to a strip club??? HELL YES! I was taking my guy friends to the strip clubs when I was Rob's age.
Hopefully this isn't a "Rob and Megan Fox were together at the club flirting while Rob rubbed her back" sort of deal. What a bunch of crap that was.

The way I look at it is: as enjoyable as it is to discuss him here—from his more obvious physical charms to his subtle intelligence and humor—I wouldn't really WANT to meet him in the quasi-subservient "fan" sense (getting a quick autograph and photo, never to cross paths again).
The ideal situation, for me, would be to meet him the same way you would meet any other regular person (and, believe it or not, he IS a regular person). But how could that happen, realistically? I know, it couldn't.

A/LA, yes, that's where Rob first realized how big the whole Twilight thing was. It was at the book signing, if I recall. He was so overwhelmed by all the fans there that he said he felt like crying. It was October of last year and the film hadn't even come out, so he was totally unprepared. The weight of the expectations hit him, I think. I love the video from the premier though because he keeps grinning like, "you all want to take a picture of ME? Everybody's screaming for ME?" 'Cause as humble and shy and quiet as the boy is, I'm quite certain he has a strong ambitious streak that seeks to achieve great things and be recognized for it. And this was pretty great, and unexpected.

Yes, I am writing something now: an idea that had been percolating over several years, but which I had been too discouraged to attempt to explore.
But I was so inspired when I read about Stephenie Meyer, and how, as a stay-at-home mom (like me) she had almost abandoned her dream of being a writer. I have a similar educational background as hers (creative writing degree, concentration in poetry—you can tell what excellent, practical life decisions I make :)), but I feel like I have been squandering it (aside from publishing some poetry in literary magazines, lo so many years ago).
So thank you to SM, and the divine RP, for jolting me out of my inertia, and for helping me salvage my lifelong dream.
Mrs. Robinsane - I majored in English (undergrad) and used to be a mad writer (poetry and fiction). I was kind of discouraged by my family (too imaginative = weird kid). Instead of writing myself, I became a writing instructor. Recently, with the help of both my best bud and a kind therapist (ahem), I am reclaiming this side of my personality and reincorporating it into my life. Scary but necessary. Now that I'm older, I guess I'm okay being the weird, creative kid!!
No Tina, I'm not sure who was wanting the B&W ff but she keeps thinking it's me. As we all know I don't read ff.

Yes, I am writing something now: an idea that had been percolating over several years, but which I had been too discouraged to attempt to explore.
But I was so inspired when I read about Stephenie Meyer, and how, as a stay-at-home mom (like me) she had almost abandoned her dream of being a writer. I have a similar educational background as hers (creative writing degree, concentration in poetry—you can tell what excellent, practical life decisions I make :)), but I feel like I have been squandering it (aside from publishing some poetry in literary magazines, lo so many years ago).
So thank you to SM, and the divine RP, for jolting me out of my inertia, and for helping me salvage my lifelong dream.
I'm just excited to be seeing Rob do something so challenging... he's so talented.. I'm really excited about seeing this side of his range

ReplyDeleteMrs. Robinsane - I majored in English (undergrad) and used to be a mad writer (poetry and fiction). I was kind of discouraged by my family (too imaginative = weird kid). Instead of writing myself, I became a writing instructor. Recently, with the help of both my best bud and a kind therapist (ahem), I am reclaiming this side of my personality and reincorporating it into my life. Scary but necessary. Now that I'm older, I guess I'm okay being the weird, creative kid!!
