  7. The video quality blows but Holy Crap!!!!! I'm still not nutsy about the focus on the newborns and the fight. And, by the way, I so just want Jacob Black to jump in front of a bus. But, that's just me.

    SWEET MAMA!!!!!

  15. I am completely serious, when I say if you get into the show, and need a place to stay, let me know. If I don't get in, I will be camping/standing/sitting outside of her studio!

    @HeartRob - Come on over!

  18. CL Smelled the Pretty;

Will you be having a banner for his B'day either outside/inside Oprah? Hoping you get a ticket to the show so as all the others. Please practice your rendition of his birthday song. That would be awesome ....

Good Luck Girls.!!! Our hearts with you All.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @CL I asked but dont know do you have a place for me too 'sweet face'=)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ok, CL...

When she said to practice the birthday song, she means, practice the bday song, a'la Marilyn Monroe and President Kennedy. If you're gonna do it, you gotta do it right!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Bryce does not look menacing AT ALL as Victoria!!! I miss Rachelle...

    *shakes fist at Summit*

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oooo.....I got chills watching this!

    CL - Make us proud!

I miss Rachelle too but hopefully BDH can pull it off. Kristen's wig looks great. The newborns are freakin creepy and Robward looks divine. That's my assessment. Oh, and Jaspers' hair is an improvement. Not great but at least he doesn't look like Carol Burnett anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  23. So amazing I am so exciting, can't wait to see the movie.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Can't understand why they've 'beefed up' the Newborns role particularly 'Riley'. I mean in the book he was in it for what... half a dozen pages at the most? It looks as though Summit are hoping that Xavier is their new 'cash cow' a la Taylor/Jaycob....mmmm whatever the reason Rob looks good....

    ReplyDelete
  25. The darker tones and battle scenes look very exciting!

And Rob looks totally fab. I love how he looks when he presents her with the ring. He is sooooo gorgeous! I think they did a better job with Rob's makeup in this movie than they did in New Moon so I'm happy. I'm excited now.

Just so some of you realize, just because it airs on May 13, does not mean that it will be taped on May 13. They often tape shows in advance!

    ReplyDelete
  26. @ Kate
    Thanks for the quick HQ
And you can see. Here it is again all hell broke loose!
    (I hope correct english)LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well it looks good, when Robward says: "leave now!" I just melt. I love the strong/alpha Robward who can be deadly when needed, so protective, but always gentle/tender with Bella, just too SEXY! They should not weaken him!

However there are things about this, first did anyone else notice that the time of this supposedly final trailer is short? I mean if you take the talking out from the beginning of the video and the end, the trailer barely goes up to 1:45 minutes. I'm also thinking that it needed at least 30 seconds more of Edward and E/B romance. It seemed too focused on the fight scenes. And Taycob still fails at being threatening.

Anyways, I will still try to be optimistic.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm already excited about the sound and tension.
    David, you are the king.

    ReplyDelete
  29. This is a great BD present for me, I'm the 14th.....yay!!!! Can't wait, I've been waiting for Oprah to have them on..and now finally. I do hope she mentions Rob's BD, he'll probably get all embarrassed LOL, it's something to look forward to!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Holy Shyte! I am so going to see this in Imax!

As for yourselves who call Rob 'the Pretty' (yeah, like you CL, who smelled (???) him), have a listen to 'Pretty Boy' by sam Bradley. IF Biel (or someone else talented with the videos) hasn't made a video with that song yet (if it is legal--I don't know about this video stuff and using songs and legalities), it is begging to happen.

  32. emily - agree with all your comments, you made me laugh with the jasper/carol burnett hair. i laugh every time i see NM thinking of that. but yes it looks really good and i agree the vamps actually look creepy. i think DS got this one right, or at least i hope he did :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hope so too Ana!

This trailer is much more "battle" oriented which I love but I really hope they give Bella & Edward's relationship the time it deserves. Needs a balance I think.

    ReplyDelete
  34. The Trailer is good but i need more Edw and Bella....Its too much of fight scenes.... Where is the Romance scenes...atleast one kiss scene,... Am i asking for too much :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Didn't Rob once say he wanted to try chicago famous pizza? Maybe this will be his chance. Maybe we should all chip in and have one sent to Oprha's set for him for his birthday. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Solas--Haven't heard it, will check it out. Thanks!

    Re: Smelling ThePretty
Angie-K SmelledThePretty and I were 6 inches away from Rob at the Today Show on March 1, 2010. His scent is unbelievable. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I do remember that. ;-) I just think of him as pretty, but as beautiful. But after hearing this Sam Bradley song-- wow! chills!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hahaha I love Oprah..she was all flipping her hair and checking herself out on the monitor..LOL

    "I LUV's Harpo..God knows I doo..but I'LL KILL HIM DEAD BEFORE I'LL LET HIM BEAT ME"

    Sorry, flashback..LOL

The trailer was awesome..I about peed..LOL

  40. The ring that Edward gives Bella is hideous.

    ReplyDelete
  41. sorry-- i meant, I do NOT think of Rob as pretty, but i DO think of himself as beautiful. Such a lousy typist! Anyway-- the question marks about the smell was just picturing you leaning in and taking a deep breath :-D
whilst trying to be subtle enough to not be noticed and elicit a wtf.
But even not thinking of himself as pretty, the song is really something.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am so happy!

A new picture of Rob yesterday and now the Eclipse trailer!

    Wow!!!!!!

Trailer looks great. I am very excited to see this movie. Eclipse was my favorite book.

    ReplyDelete
  43. he's not just pretty - he's THEPRETTY!!

& beautiful & lovely & hot & handsome & gorgeous & sexy & ethereal & beyond mere words, but we have to try to describe him somehow...

So freaking excited for Eclipse! Most fav of the books & looking good so far.

    Happy! happy! joy! joy!

  44. Angie--to myself, pretty is a physical attribute, and seems more for females than man. Beautful, on the other hand, seems more encompassing-- beautiful looks, beautiful heart, beautiful soul, a thing of beauty, a beautiful person, always walk in beauty. Just seems more of what I perceive, but My mind does strange things with languages anyway and I could be misunderstanding the differences between similar words. So you keep 'pretty' for whom you consider 'the pretty'and I will stick with 'beautiful' for the beautiful lad. ;-)

  47. ...I just watched the trailer on phone & I'M SOO EXCITED, the movie looks good, it better be good, i didnt like New Moon that much!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Solas- I have said many many times that I feel Rob has beautiful old soul. You can see it in his eyes & hear it in voice, especially his singing voice. He really is like no other person I've ever experienced before. That is why I (& so many others) are completely drawn to him.

I don't think it is a language use issue (no offense, but is English your first language?)because not only do CL & I come here to appreciate & ROBsess we are also her to have fun & enjoy & calling him ThePretty is fun. ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Awww, I felt my heart tightening when he presented her the ring. *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thank god the fight scenes look good, otherwise it would be unbereable!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Angie--English is not my first language, but I HAVE been using it a long time. I think and dream in other languages, and in English as well at times. So I totally understand that different people have different understandings of words, terms, allusions, etc.
I know many of you call him The Pretty. I suppose it is catchy. I will stick with thinking of him as 'the beautiful lad.' ;-) But I still urge you to hear and read the lyrics to Sam's 'Pretty Boy.' The tune and guitar playing remind me a little of one of my favourite Metallica songs (Nothing Else Matters), and the lyrics remind me of Edward and Rob. and although, yes, I certainly know Rob is not Edward, his portrayal of Edward and a few common characteristics seethe in this song.

    Ok, Angie & CL.....

PLEASE throw a girl a bone here, and tell us what The Pretty smelled like.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Solas - I will definitely find Sam's song

Sarah Bear - we have tried to describe his scent so many times! It's so hard to do, but he's smelled delicious! It was not a cologne. It was a very fresh smell - had to be a body wash mixed with his own essence!

Time to put the Mommy hat back on. laters...

  59. this trailer looks sooo good, but wait: NM trailer also looked very good but the movie wasn't, IMO

i'll have to wait to see the whole movie

    ReplyDelete
  60. I loved the NewMoon trailers, and loved the movie visually despite the rushed or erased scenes of love between Edward and Bella, and the over-emphasis on Jacob and the dogs.
This trailer looks excellent as well; I do hope that in the film, the scenes of love between Bella and Edward are present and strong, beyond Jacob, vampire armies, or anything else. Too much to ask?

    ReplyDelete
  61. such an amazing trailer...I hate jacob really, taylor has to improve his acting really!!rob and kris excellent... the newborns ahhh i love them!!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thanks, Angie....

It started as Sarah Bear, then evolved into redbearskie when I was a teen and started wearing my hair red. Your daughter has a good name. :)

P.S. Please tell me more about seeing/smelling The Pretty sometime. Me likey to listen.

  63. @AP
Good point...never thought of that. It's been a good while since I read Eclipse and I must admit the secondary characters do not interest me at all! LOL!
I actually liked Eclipse although I found the part with Jacob and Bella sitting round the campfire and the storytelling? Am I right? Found that overlong and boring and I usually love myths and mythology..it just went on too long. Maybe it's just me. I do hope that Slade concentrates on the fundamental aspect of this whole series though...i.e. the love of an immortal flawed being for a vulnerable, mortal human and all that that entails. Not great literature but a cracking good tale.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Angie...

O/T for me as well, but my brother and his family live in Chesapeake, and we are going to see them this next year...

So if you see a crazy redhead walking around in an edward Tshirt, its probably me. :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Maybe they should have made Eclipse into 2 movies...action and romance. I'm afraid the romance will be whittled away (AGAIN) just like in NM...we saw trailers of the romance, but when the movie finally hit the theater, werewolves...no ride on the airplane (dialogue was beautiful in the book), no lying in bed with Bella when she woke up (again precious moment wasted), etc...nothing, not even the "Edward! Stop!" when she saw Edward in Italy before he took that step forward.

The Twilight series is a beautiful story of two people discovering love for the first time...what could be more romantic or tragic! Edward told Bella how much he loved her numerous times in Twilight, but again nothing in the movie. At lease, CH got the intensity of the romance right!

I enjoyed the trailer...the fight scenes were incredible! I love that Jasper and Carlisle take a more upfront role in Eclipse. The wolves are amazing!

But I won’t get too excited because I know what this writer and Summit continue to produce in each movie...the love story as incidental. Stephanie, if you are reading this, please finish Midnight Sun...PLEASE! :-) Tired of both Bella and Jacob's POV, want to read more of Edward's.

    ReplyDelete
  66. OMFG!!! I can not wait till June! This movie looks like it will be the best so far. I think DS got it right with the look of the vamps and Rob look damn fine!

I wonder if this trailer is focusing more on the fight scenes to branch out on their audience. Hoping to get more guys or something cause if it were all edward and bella it would seem too much like a chick flick.

Anyways, also for those huge twilight fans out there. There is a store here in Utah that you can buy the same replica of the engagement ring as well as her charm bracelet and other stuff. All of the jewlery was authorized and planned out with Stephanie Meyer. http://www.infinitejewelryco.com/

ahhh back to go watch the trailer a few more times :)

  68. Elipse is my favorite of the books, so I hope they don't screw it up.
    Things I like:
    1. Rob is dressed like a normal 17 year old, not somebody's grandpa.
    2. Rob's makeup may be a little better.
    3. We get to see a bit more of the other Cullens.
    4. Fighting Jasper!

    Things I don't like:
    1. Victoria'a hair-looks nothing like Rachelle's, it looks like what it is, a very bad wig.
    2. There seems to be a lot of fighting, they better not have sacrificed the love story for it.
    3. Kristen's wig. Yeah, I still think it looks like crap.

I guess I will have to wait & see.

    ReplyDelete
  69. The trailer looked good, I just hope like everyone else that the relationship that is Bella and Edward gets shown.

Netra-where in utah are you from, I also live in Utah.

    ReplyDelete
  70. acullengirl I am in Clearfield/layton area where are you at?

    ReplyDelete
  71. @Lizzibee: my understanding is David stuck closely to the final script, and it did include a number of intimate scenes between Edward and Bella, some of which was shown in the first trailer. I hope they get the balance between the two plotlines as well so that the mountain showdown is the culmination of both, with the meadow as a coda. Well, the nice thing about film is you can show quick flashbacks during the campfire/storytelling chapter, which keeps it a lot more succinct. lol They do have to include the story of the Third Wife for the showdown with Victoria…

    ReplyDelete
  72. It looks so amazing!!!
I can´t wait to see the movie, I think David Salde did a good job.
The trailer is perfect but I miss Ed and Bella´s scenes but I think it´s that Summit wanted, flights scenes to have more audiences.

  79. Hi again!

    ROBSESSED DIARY 2010.04.23.

The trailer looks VERY promising, I think.
"Eclipse"'s gonna be an excellent movie - if we have some luck it can be even a PERFECT movie - cause there's every ingredient in it (to appeal to all kind of tastes & likes) to make it a very successful movie.
Exciting action - deadly fight - heartbreak - a crossover, never-before-seen passionate love story between two different species - the strength of love/hate/friendship & family bonds...
There's everything there - and even much more. Cause the storyline keeps getting better & harsher, the emotions deeper & more passionate, the actors more comfortable with understanding their characters...
Yeah, every part of the story's just becoming more extreme & complicated...
And yeah, even the main characters seem to interact in a more mature, adult way...
AND of course they keep looking even better than in the 2 first Twilights. Edward does look incredibly mature & confident & deadly as a fighter
BUT even more mature/adult & deep AND so ready to finally get the big love of his 108 years long existence - Bella...
So it makes all the sense to me that Rob looks older/more mature in "Eclipse" - he just has to. He has gone to hell and back for this girl, so it makes sense that he has changed a lot - in the books we find out that even vampires can change (and DO change in interaction with humans)
Sooo, I'm looking forward to this movie so very-very much, my gut's just telling me that it's gonna be mighty good, guys!!! Hugs

    ReplyDelete
  80. OMG that looks so good!!!!

Is it me or was Carlise is using a british accent?? cause in Twilight he wasn't.

The tones of the movie kind reminds me like Blade you know the darkness etc

    ReplyDelete
  81. I have just freakin' DIED! This movie will be awesome! Robstockers, fasten your seatbelts, it's gonna be a "bumpy" ride!!!!

    FILTM!!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. It looks good but it's very, very much battle-oriented. Where's the love story? It doesn't appear at all! One half-second with the ring. The scene in the snow with Edward and Victoria looks very beautiful though. I think they want to get more guys in the theater... and are pushing the action to the front.

    ReplyDelete
  83. shoegal2547 - totally agree with you and lizziebee.

In my words, the story of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan is epic, well crafted, natural, beautiful, complex - with amazing dialogue. It is the heart of the series, and it was left out of New Moon. David Slade could do the same thing with Eclipse. He could assume that the romance can easily be conveyed in a few scenes while he flushes out the rest of the story because it is more to his sensibilities - his great chance to put his artistic foot print on the world of film. The result is that we will be left feeling empty as if we have been cheated.

If a book appeals to the female population, why is there some perceived need to expand the audiance to males? How many movies are made to appeal to guys only - gratuitous sex and violence. Here we have the perfect story for many females, and perhaps the perfect Edward in Robert Pattinson, and we have to potentially suffer the loss of our love story due to pandering to the male population.

Not getting my hopes up - no matter what teasers I see - what will matter is the film in its entirety.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Don't have time to read all the comments and I always try to do so which believe it or not, takes up more time than my long posts. Those I can pop out pretty quick as my thoughts race and my fingers fly. But I just wanted to say...

So often we complain about this and that where these films are concerned. That they omitted this and didn't spend enough time on that and yeah, I guess those are legitimate complaints.

But the truth is, for adaptations (in which we cannot have everything we want from the books), they are doing an amazing job with these films. They know what they're doing.

And obviously, a billion plus (and a shitload more to come) at the box office, ultimately agrees.

Trailer good. Which bodes that the movie...looking good.

I just wanna see Edward rip Victoria's head off. I swear, that's the moment I'm waiting for. I'm just sick of Edward Cullen being perceived as a pussy vampire.

He can be a badass. You just gotta give him a reason to be so.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Okay. Skimming back through the comments and it seems as though some are concerned about the love story. I commented on this on another thread, but one more time...

They're not going to shortchange the love story. They know that this is what is central to the success of it. Yes, we didn't get much of it in NM because Edward dumped her. He left. Summit didn't come up with that. That was Meyer's story. They followed the book.

But they also know that they do not have to woo a female audience. They've got us. So, Summit being in the business to make money, they are trying to tap the other audience...the men. Ergo, they're trying to get more action into the movies.

    It's a strictly business decsion..

    ReplyDelete
  86. One other thing...

Rob and Kristen weren't that comfortable with the overly romantic dialouge of the book. They thought there were too many declarations of love. One thing about actors (actors who know what they're doing anyway), they like an economy of words. They don't want to convey everything with the dialogue. They want to use their expressions, they're body language as they've got more 'tools' to work with. Rob and Kristen are also very subtle actors. Nothing over the top about either of them.

I think that their style of acting is all over this thing. With lesser actors they would have had to depend more on the words as those are the only 'tools' that lesser actors have.

If this were too drippy with romance, you'd have something the caliber of a Lifetime Movie of the Week.

    Just an opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Another thought...

Remember Me (which had Rob's fingerprints all over it), that film too used an economy of dialouge and emotion. An economy of 'over the top' emotion, I should say. Had to laugh when critcs called it a melodrama. There was nothing melodramatic about that film. Just the ending which caught them off guard (didn't see the breadcrumbs being dropped all throughout the film), which they totally misread and therefore, all they saw was the drama of the final moment and then went and labeled the entire film, a melodrama.

    Idiots.

    ReplyDelete
  88. @nikola6: you have some valid points, but billions of dollars at the box office does not mean people liked the movie...it means there was a lot of anticipation since the first movie was good. Case in point, Transformer II, first movie was fantastic, second not so much, but it made more than Transformer I.

NW had very tender moments in the book that were not captured in the movie. CW did keep closer to the book than CH, but still missed the romance of the book.

I think most fans of the books would just like some of the intimacy and tenderness that the books have described...after all if the fans didn't like the books so much, there would be no movies.

    ReplyDelete
  89. shoegal...

Please don't get me wrong. There were plenty of moments in the books that didn't make it into the films and yeah, it disappointed me too.

I thought they really screwed up 'the meadow' scene in Twilight. It was one of the better written chapters in the book and they should have lifted that scene from the book as is.

But I do agree that there are lovely and tender moments from the book that didn't make the cut for the films and again, the reasons for that is...

    1) I don't believe these two young actors are all that comfortable with the 'over the top' romance of it all.

    2) Summit is still looking for that male audience. And therefore, some of the romance is going to be
sacrificed for some action. Again, it's business.

Very rarely are books literally adapted to the screen. They always make changes. Have you ever seen the 1955 version of East Of Eden, starring James Dean? If you'd only watched that film and not read the book, you would have thought that Dean's character, Cal Trask was the central figure of the story. He was not. His mother, Catharine Ames Trask was. That story was an epic covering three generations from the end of the Civil War to the start of the first World War, yet the film only used that last hundred pages to tell it's story.

    Another example...
Gone With The Wind. The film only covered a portion of that book. Even the casting of Scarlett O'Hara. The first line of the book is...

"Scarlett O'Hara was not a beautiful girl, but no one knew it."

So who did David O.Selznick go out and cast as his Scarlett? One of the most beautiful women who has ever lived. Vivien Leigh.

It's the movie business. I can't make heads or tails of it.

And...uh...gotta take issue with something else...

When a movie makes this much money, then somebody (alot of somebody's) like the movie, enough to keep going back. If not, it would just have a big opening weekend and then word of mouth would say that it stinks and it would quickly die down. People may have complained about Transformers II, but obviously enough of the public liked it to make it a box office winner. Same thing here. People aren't going to pay money to see something or go back for repeat showings (giving more of their money), if they don't like something. They'll just wait for the DVD to see what all the shouting is about.

The way these films become blockbusters are REPEAT VIEWINGS. And I suppose you're right, they might not like the movies but they keep going back (so they must like something) and Summit doesn't really care why the audience likes a film. They just care that they do enough to go back and spend their money. And that's all they care about.

But yeah, I too would like to see more of the romance. But I'm not making or marketing these things.

  90. Looks GOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!! :D If it keeps its promises, I might even like this film better than the book (as long as Bella gets to punch Jacob and Edward to rip off Victoria's head)! :D

Actually, I'd just be happy if, when they pick a scene from the book, they'd stick to the words in the book, not make up a whole new dialogue. Yes, I'm talking to you, Melissa Goldberg.

All in all, though, one thing I must give credit about to the Twilight movies is that they seem to improve at every turn. I guess that's all I can ask, at this point.

By the way, I wonder how Rob feels, having to spend his birthday on Oprah...

  91. Ok-I hate to bee the buzzkill-but I went on Oprahs site and some are saying they might be taping on ANOTHER day. So the show might air that day. But he might not be there. SOme one please throw us a bone here. I got to know wtf's going on!!! some that have tickets "call backs" -are saying they have to be there on different dates. Hence the confusion on what day he'll actually be there!

  93. Solas...
I like that Metallica song too.
Maybe I'll check out the Sam Bradley song.

RE: 'The Pretty'. I'm with you. Rob is not pretty and that is a term for females so it didn't seem right when I first heard it.
He is gobsmackingly, stunningly beautiful--but I have to differ, he is not a lad but a man, all man.

I've slowly come to like the term 'the pretty' because it seems it has become a term of endearment. As such, I like it okay.

Rob is handsome, beautiful, gorgeous, sexy, hot--or hawt!--. He's sex on two legs, long, lean, lanky tall glass of water, god of hair and just plain demi-god freakin' gloriously magnificent.
Words like pretty and attractive don't come near to what he is...
and I think all here know that. ;)

  94. AP...oh yeah, the third wife.
I've got to re-read it. Crucial point.

  95. Lolli...I know what you mean. Leave out the guys.

  96. Jesse--I just don't see it--to me he is a boy, a lad; not what I am looking for in a man, how I define man. But he is beautiful just the same.

  97. Nik...Yeah give us bad ass Edward!

'Woo'? They are wooing the male audience. Woo, as in romance?
Sorry, I know what they're doing, Nik, and it may be the way of the world but the fembitch in me is ready to rip their heads off for adamantly pursuing that tack.

    Agreed. Nothing melodramatic about RM.

    Shoegal and Nik...
Yes, we do want the tenderness and intimacy, not cheezy dialogue though. And our boy and girl can deliver on the physical part.
Why did Twilight succeed? Partly because of THAT kiss. That alone. That intimacy and danger, perfectly played out by Rob and Kristen.

  98. Solas...On this lad/man thing we will just have to agree to disagree.

  99. Although, Solas, you have an easier time of 'loving' Rob if that other element is not there. I've posted, many moons ago, about my personal dilemma concerning my feelings toward him. Can't help it. That's how these things work.
I envy you your type of affection, but I'm under the spell of mine.
