Reshoots are very common. There's nothing to worry about. In fact, it's usually a good sign. Director has seen something he wants to improve upon. Enough to haul their gorgeous little tushys all the way back to Vancity to either fix or enhance. Director has eye on ball.

I think they have to be doing Eclipse promotion during May because Rob will not be available in June because he'll be filming WFE. And I wouldn't be expecting another world tour this time. I would imagine they'll do the talk shows, sit in a hotel room for the usual all day marathon with reporters, maybe squeeze in a Hot Topic fan event here in LA and attend the premieres in LA and possibly NY and London. But don't expect the trips to Rome, Paris, Tokyo, etc. this time. Unless they do it in May, but how can Rob? He's suppose to start shooting in just a little over three weeks time and he's got pre-production. How can he take off for a month or so on an across the globe trek? And why would they? They did it just six months ago for New Moon. Did I answer that? I'm a little fuzzy this morning.

ReplyDeleteI mean really I think a few are making a big deal out of nothing, first of all, I highly doubt that they would allow the fans to get close if they weren't sure that it is safe for both Robert and the fans, from the animals. And they can always shoot some scenes in a closed set.
Second most probably there will be a lot of scenes between Jacob/Marlena and then Jacob and Marlena's husband, so it's definitely not all animals. And third from what I've seen, the fans that go to sets to observe, i.e Robert fans, are in general very respectful and they follow the instructions given to them to be able to stay close to the set. In Budapest they didn't even scream.
So I wouldn't say the fans are rude, I would say that in general Robert has some of the best fans around.
And best of all, when they allow the fans to get close to the set, they are getting free publicity for their movie, and that is very good for them. So they should be thanking the well behaved fans that take the time to go. What can I say, I enjoy being updated on Robert and seeing new pics of him. I'm honest about that.
But if it bothers Robert, or if anyone behaves obnoxiously then I am all for NO PICS at all, so that we can get a good film and Robert can work in peace.
And if on the other hand, they don't want pics taken, if Robert is too distracted, then they can simply turn it into a closed set, it's as simple as that. *grins*

But I just gotta say this...
Even if the fans are nice and respectful, they still don't belong there. They were not invited. Let me put it this way...
How would it affect you to be at work or sitting in a classroom, if hundreds of people were standing there staring at you and taking picture? Would it distract you from what you were doing? Would it make you self conscious? Make you make some mistakes? And how do you suppose your fellow employees or classmates would feel about it? Would it distract them or make them feel self conscious and make mistakes over what they were doing? Same thing here. It's about having good manners and respecting people. That's all.
I'm just grateful that Sean Penn dropped out. At first I was thrilled that Rob was going to get the chance to work with him, but then I thought about Penn's infamous temper. He hates HATES the papps and I cannot believe he would tolerate hoards of fans standing there watching him work. He could have exploded and who do you thing he might have directed some of his anger at? Rob maybe? Whose presence on the set would be the reason for all this commotion going on in the first place. Thankfully, this won't happen now. Although...I hear that Reese is a lovely woman but a bit of a control freak and I have no idea how Christoph Waltz works. Hopefully all will go well. But I would like your opinion on one thing I brought up. I'd like many opinions on this...
And that would be the potential danger of having a large group of fans nearby that could possibly set off one of those dangerous animals that Rob is going to have to work closely with? Would getting pictures of him be worth that? As I said, male animals can have very strong reactions to blood (menstral in particular) and what do you suppose the odds might be that if a 100 women (or even just 25) were standing there, that one of them just might be on her period? And if one of those animals were to go off and someone we all love is standing to close, what could happen? That beautiful face could get mauled or worse (can't even go there).
And don't think that accidents don't happen on film sets. They do.
It's rare that anything serious happens as they imploy tremendous safety precautions on a film set. But people have been seriously injured and even killed. There was an actor named Vic Morrow who was dicapitated when he got too close to a whirling helicopter blade. I know I can come off like Henny Penny running around clucking that the sky is falling. Well...sometimes it can. He will be working with dangerous animals and I don't care how trained and tame they might be. You don't turn your back on a wild animal. He's going to have to be on his toes EVERY SECOND he's around those animals and he doesn't need any 'other' distractions. Not on this film set.

I doubt he'll back home until Christmas. With WFE and BD, that should keep him on the west coast until at least then. Don't worry hon. We'll take good care of him and then toss him on back to ya.

I'm glad to see that he is using a hard case for his guitar. I couldn't figure out how his guitar was surviving with the soft case seen on previous journeys! Back in the day when I used to travel with my guitar and perform, I had a hard case and my guitar still got ruined! :-( In those days (and also possibly because I had no money to travel first class) the guitar had to be with the luggage; I have a feeling they tossed it about. It seems Rob is able to take his on the plane with him, perhaps set it up front with the strollers? I wonder if it can fit overhead?

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that photo is Goblet of Fire vintage. I saw a photo like it with the girl from Goblet--forgotten her name--and Rob together. Same shirt, hair.
Now if you'd only wear the dark stripy shirt under the BBJ I'd be in heaven...
ReplyDeleteHopefully when WFE starts shooting, security will be beefed up more than usual due to Rob's presence and all those animals. They don't need the scream fest that was in NY while filming RM. The animals would freak, and no one needs that. We want the "The Pretty" to be a safe "Pretty"
ReplyDelete@Jessegirl, nice to hear from you. I got on early and have been corrected about the BBL. I missed the Twilight premiere furor, later did see ComicCon. It started for me when he walked through the cafeteria door and I thought who the hell is this guy? Heard him speak in interviews and I was gone, rest is history. So I missed a bit from back in the day including the famous BBJ, apparently. Took me a while to find my way here.
ReplyDelete@Solas, I wondered why he wasn't using the soft over-the-shoulder guitar case we saw in Budapest. Your insight makes perfect sense, why the hard case, however worn it may be.
@TotallyRobbed, I was wondering also what that clothing was over his carry-on. Duh, ofcouse, it's a hoodie! You guys are so damned smart and know our boy so very well :)
Lastly, maybe, re. the new jeans. I'm thinking the button flys hadn't been laundered in a while or maybe they just fell apart, so he had to do something, and yes they do look like he bought them on the way to the airport LOL. Then, again, maybe Mum or a sister bought them for him??
@Nik, scary thoughts about the animals he will be working with, but I'm confident it will be a closed set, has to be. Very controlled environment. It has to look real, like he's working with them but in truth how much will it be a professional trainer double? Yet, he has to be close by for the scenes. I'm going to reread WFE to remind myself about what Jacob was actually doing in that circus.

ReplyDeleteEven the $350 Raybans may not keep his eyes from being effected by all the camera flashes. He said he had 16 pair of them..........several months ago.......probably more now. Rayban probably gives them to him for free - good advertisement. I'd love a pair........if I could afford it.

For a young Rob I liked GOF junket in Japan.
Hey Jesse, when I discovered there was a world of Rob stuff out there, I was sneaking peaks at work because I still didn't have a personal computer at home (how lame is that?). Had the FIOS hook-up, but it took Rob actually to make me get one LOL. So I missed a lot. Thanks for the list of your faves.
