  18. Am I the only one who doesn't care for this ring? I guess it fits the description in the book, but somehow I pictured something more delicate. And a big ring on a hand as small as Kristen's tends to look gaudy, in my opinion. Maybe it'll look better on screen.

As for him being bombarded at this cocktail party? See my post under John Stamos' twaddle.

He's the "new kid in town" and they all want some of that shine rubbing off on them.

A handful of times in a generation, a star comes along that shines brighter than the rest of them. You mark my words, Robert Pattinson is one of those stars.

  19. @AP...

    As for the merchandise...

It's beyond ridiculous and downright hilarious. I swear to god, if they thought they could get away with it, they'd sell Twilight tampons. Oh shit! (I just cracked myself up).

The only good thing about all of this? Rob and Kristen are getting a piece of the merchandise pie. If they must be humilated in this way, at least they're getting paid for it.

My guess is, they'd forgo the money in order to get some of their dignity back.

  20. I hate the ring. It looks cheap, and not at all as I imagined it from the book.

  21. OOOHHHHHH........PUZZLES!!!!!!!

    ;-)

  22. I guess it's a good thing Sarah isn't here anymore. The discussion we could have about Twilight tampons??? We'd be kicked so far off this blog, we'd land in fucking China. LOL!

No. It's not a good thing she's gone. I miss her terribly. If you're out there lurking Sarah, I'm thinking of you. And hugging you.

Hell. If you'd come back, I'd put my goddamn cell phone number up here and as soon as you called me, I'd run and change it.

    I mean it.

  24. Gotta run but the piece of semi-jewellery I want is that Cullen wristband in the first pic. Think I'm too late as I'm sure 'someone' who shall remain nameless but is renown for socks in his pocket - already took it from the set...;)

  25. Hey Nik glad you're back. This place isn't the same without you. You missed out some action yesterday on the carrying gym clothes thread. I believe it's still alive last time I checked.

  26. The ring in the movie although ratified by M/s does not not look the way it is described , this is way too big making it a little ugly on Bella's finger.Owning this ring as apart of merchandise is really stupid.

  27. Engagement and wedding rings from about 1910 to 1920 were often filigree and quite delicate in appearance which this ring is not. Sorry, I think they missed it with this.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Even rings from the 1890s don't look this clunky.

  29. Nik...Twilight tampons...spitting on my screen here!

Oh, and even though I'm usually not one for Twilight paraphenalia, esp. blankets, pillows, etc. I admit to an urge to buy the Cullen flashdrive, 16GB. Don't tell anyone. lol

    ReplyDelete
  30. Actually, I don't think this is an engagement per se. As I recall, it was simply a ring of his mother's and in fact, looks like a cocktail ring. But as in the book, this one is oval shaped and covered in tiny diamonds, but there's absolutely nothing delicate about it and it was described that way in the book...delicate. But as I said, it may look better on screen than it does in a still photo.

    We shall see.

  31. Hey jessegirl...

What can I say? I got a potty mouth and a mind in the guttah. And for that I guess I should say I'm sorry. Just one problem with that...I'm not. LOL! But speaking of merchandise...

You know what I'd really like from these films? And not a cheap piece of merchandising knock off, but a piece of REAL memorabilia, the one used in the film; Bella's bracelet. The one with the tiny wolf carving and the diamond heart.
And o' course, I'd rip that wolf right off of there and fling it out the window. Nah. I wouldn't. I'd keep it intact.

Wait. Did they even do the bracelet thing in the film? In the book, didn't Jacob give her that for her birthday? And then Edward got his feelings hurt because everyone was allowed to give her a gift, except him? So he added the heart? But in the film, Jacob gave her a dreamcatcher. Why did they omit the bracelet. Or did they? I swear...

It's been so long since I've read these books and I very rarely watch the films on dvd. Mostly I look at the extras and that's about it. I'm weird (uh...yeah. they've figured that out). I don't like to watch movies on dvd. Movies are dreams and they were meant to be seen in the dark on a huge screen. And were suppose to step out of our own lives, out of our homes and away from the tv to go to this special place to see them. When were watching them at home, were not getting the 'dream' experience. Were not getting swept away because there are just too many other distractions. Truth is, were just watching television. I know. It's all about convience sake and like I said, I'm weird. Actually...

I'm a purist. I think there ought to be a law prohibiting astro turf and the designated hitter. Baseball is played on grass and a team has nine players, not ten. You take the field, you swing a bat. Them's the rules.

    I know. I'm weird.

  33. Oh. And hi captain. That was sweet of you. Thanks.

I did check out some of it but decided not to jump into the fray.

On occasion, I can restrain myself.

    On occasion. LOL!

  34. In New moon book , Jacob gave her a dream catcher (I think)and in Ecclipse he gave her the braclet with the wood carved miniature wolf and to this Edward added the diamond heart.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Kristen's hand is too beautiful to have that hideous ring on it!

PLEASE, Eddie- go to Tiffany's. You can afford it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well. If he gave her the dreamcatcher for her birthday (in New Moon), then for what occasion did he give her the bracelet in Eclipse? Or was there an occasion? Did he give it to her just 'cause?

I suppose I could just go reference the books, but that would take some effort on my part.
And it's just so much easier to sit here and yak my head off and hope that someone will answer my dumb ass question that I'm too lazy to get up off my dumb ass and go find out the answer for myself.

  37. @ nikola6 yeah Jacob gave her a bracelet in Eclipse it was her graduation present when they were @ the Cullens house when Alice made this party for her and Bella invited Jacob and thats when he gave her the bracelet... :D and of course Edward got all sad cuz everyone else gets to give presents and he doesn't....
