Robert Pattinson and his extra vertebrae tickle the ivories

Robert Pattinson and his extra vertebrae tickle the ivories

Unsolved Rob Mysteries are so fun and make you crazy! We've already got one Rob mystery flitting around today (DIORDIORDIOR) and now I'm adding another.

Jeremy Harris tweeted early this morning: Making music at @ Rpatz house. Nbd.

Let the games begin!

He has since deleted his tweet and the video he posted of Rob playing piano and guitar with Isabella Summers, keyboardist from Florence and the Machine. Click HERE if you want to see a short video taken by Harris of Summers playing on the piano in the pic. It's the only one that lives on....for now. I feel like MusicalRob is trying to break free and how can we forget this surprising gem? A lone FATM fan claims to have snagged the video when it was tweeted but she's keeping a lid on it. She just posted a cap of the video she got. She's since locked her account because you can't dangle a steak in front of a lion, right? It's going to get really bad really fast.

Our fandom DID however snag the cap of Rob tickling the ivories with Summers. Quick on the draw! You need to be since the delete button was exercised frequently as this all went down.

LOVE IT. Play that funky music, white boy. And do we NOT know this man's backside? It's been around the block a few times in his films. He's got "a few too extra vertebrae". ;)

 photo RobLongBack.gif

While examining the photo, I noticed the guitar on top of the piano. It's rather unique and made me squee. These two pictures are from when I got a chance to hear Sam Bradley play last year during a time he was hanging with Rob. When we asked him about the unique guitar, he smiled coyly and said it was a friend's. ;) The body is made entirely of some type of metal and it's got the coolest twang sound to it when played.

The video may never surface but I think it might....these things don't stay quiet forever and like I said earlier, I think MusicalRob is trying to break free!

The Ellen Show interview is actually a great throwback and while it's off topic, I'm posting it after the cut. This was the interview Rob also talked about saving the snails - a reference we were all discussing when we found out Rob also saves alligators.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart out and about with friends at a Prince Concert (Oct. 25)

UPDATE: Added YouTube

Rob and Kristen were out and about last night with friends (I spy Marcus Foster in the back with his manager, Jack) to see a private Prince concert at the Sayers Club (Remember the last time Rob was spotted there?).

Prince is amazing live (and in general). One of the best live concerts I've ever been to. I'm happy to add his name to THIS list. :))

NEW PIC: Robert Pattinson at The Black Keys concert in Hollywood (Sept. 30)

UPDATE4: A rep at the club gave eonline a quote:
"Perched on top of a booth, Robert Pattinson was seen sipping cocktails and engaged in the music, often catching him mouthing the lyrics and smiling," a rep for the club told E! News. "His spirits were great and you could tell he was comfortable and content. He truly looked happy."
UPDATE3: Kennedy wrote about her encounter with Rob on her Facebook:
Black Keys at Sayers Club? In front of a scant 50 people? Doing a full set?? Are you kidding me??!! Next thing you're going to tell me Robert Pattinson was there, and we spent an hour talking about booze and Buddhism. Oh, wait...
UPDATE2: Added more from LA Times reporter, Matt Donnelly, who was at the concert and was the first to mention Rob at the show. He says:
Rob sang along to virtually every track, breaking occasionally to greet folks such as Sayers Club creative director Jason Scoppa.
Rob seemed relaxed, positioned behind the rows and rows of fans snapping photos and taking video, not of him but of the band. An unusual experience for Pattinson, but perhaps a typical night at the exclusive venue.
Full report down below!

UPDATE: Another pic of Rob from last night and how cute is he??
From tobitalks: sometimes on sunday funday i help robpatt escape the paparazzi. he's super rad/sweet, btw. #xo #adayinthelifeofaDJ

Guuuuuyyys....look at this tweet I sent my friend way earlier this evening:
I left my house just now sans laptop for hours. Rob will likely pop up in pics or a credible/verified sighting now. Ur welcome ;)
GAH!!!!

Cutie PIE! Why so yummy looking, Rob?? Rob was out and about last night for a private concert by The Black Keys at the Sayers Club in Hollywood. Lucky Kennedy got to snag a picture!

UPDATE2: From LA Times/Matt Donnelly:
Robert Pattinson stepped out Sunday evening in Hollywood for a show by rockers the Black Keys.
Making a guys' night of it, Pattinson rolled with friends including his "Breaking Dawn — Part 2" costar Rami Malek for the exclusive show, hosted at the Sayers Club by 98.7 FM.
Ducking into a rear entrance close to 9 p.m., Pattinson, in a black baseball cap and jeans, posted up against against a back wall and enjoyed mixed drinks as the band played hits including "Tighten Up."
Rob sang along to virtually every track, breaking occasionally to greet folks such as Sayers Club creative director Jason Scoppa.
The young actor reportedly has reconciled with Kristen Stewart, his "Twilight Saga" costar and longtime off-screen love, following her July indiscretion with director Rupert Sanders.
But Sunday wasn't about his relationship, it was about music.
Rob seemed relaxed, positioned behind the rows and rows of fans snapping photos and taking video, not of him but of the band. An unusual experience for Pattinson, but perhaps a typical night at the exclusive venue.
*removed Matt's tweets because his report in LA Times is more complete*

You know I added the concert to our Robert Pattinson Music Club :)) EXCITE! MusicalRob gave us another gem and I have to start leaving the house sans laptop more often. ;)

Thanks Cyn for the heads up on the new pic!

"Robert Pattinson Is A Super Sweet Nice Guy" - Metric

Metric talk about meeting Robert Pattinson & writing songs for both Twilight & "Cosmopolis"
Starts around 6:10

Flashback: Addicted and devoted to Robert Pattinson and his music

Flashback: Addicted and devoted to Robert Pattinson and his music

We've been talking about MusicalRob on the blog recently from his jam session with Dermot to SaxophonistRob. In the comments, I catch when people say, "oh I've never seen this, never heard this, never known this!" and I saw that in those posts. We know Rob keeps his musical side pretty protected. The last recording we were privy to was made over two years ago and shared publicly well over a year after that (It's All On You). If you're new to Robsession, you might not know all that is out there with Rob's musical stamp on it.

Since MusicalRob is so beloved, doesn't take much for us to do a post like this :) Let's review all the gems we have from one talented man.

4 years ago, music Rob had self recorded leaked out and gave fans an awesome sampling of his soulful, raw vocal quality. Stray Dog and I'll Be Your Lover Too are my favorites from that series.

Stray Dog

I'll Be Your Lover Too

To Roam

To Roam video with lyrics

Rob also used to frequent open mics and there are a couple videos that captured either his performance of the vocals. The first song that reached my heart and clenched it was I Was Broken. LAWD the emotion in his voice. I heard it first in May 2009, when I became Robsessed. Rob's talent was everywhere in my searches for who this guy playing Edward Cullen was.

I Was Broken - written by Rob's friend Marcus Foster

This is the full version, vocal recording only, also worth a listen. Love the tone he starts the song with.

I adore this live version of Stray Dog. It also kills me because had I been Robsessed during the fall of 08 and not spring of 09, I might have caught this performance in LA.

Stray Dog

These recordings are two more Marcus Foster songs performed live by Rob. Not the best recording but you can hear Rob setting up his songs and singing to his heart's content.

In Your Head

I Don't Mind

Metric rejoins Howard Shore to score Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis

Canadian indie rock band, Metric announced on their website today that they will collaborate with Howard Shore on Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis!

Also, we just confirmed we will be working with our favorite film composer Howard Shore on the score for a new David Cronenberg movie starring Robert Pattinson, minus the vampires! It's an adaptation of the book "Cosmopolis" by Don DeLillo, and the themes are right in tune with the overall mood of the world at the moment. In "Cosmopolis", the rat has become a unit of currency!

You remember Metric, don't you? And you also remember the composer for Eclipse? ;))

Metric has worked with Shore before on Eclipse. Their song, All Yours, was featured in the film as well as produced for the score of the film. Can't wait to hear their Cosmopolis score!

Updated: Robert Pattinson Is NOT Recording An Album (Right Now)

UPDATED AGAIN

MTV News reached out to Pattinson's rep, who told us, "The report is untrue. He is not working on an album right now." (Kate: The RIGHT NOW bit is what I'm hearing, keep the faith people!)

Of course, that is not to say Pattinson might not record music someday — he has previously recorded "Never Think" and "Let Me Sign" for the original "Twilight" soundtrack — but it's not happening now.

When we caught up with "Breaking Dawn" director Bill Condon at Comic-Con, he confirmed that there would be some familiar musical themes weaved into the fourth film, courtesy of composer Carter Burwell, who scored the first movie. And while the director would not confirm Pattinson's inclusion on the soundtrack, he hinted that some of the musically inclined castmembers might lend their talents.

UPDATED

Gossip Cop spoke to an impeccable Pattinson insider who told them, “He is not.”

I still want to believe it's happening. If I will it, it will happen, right? ;-}

Oh hang on a minute
It's A US Weekly EXCLUSIVE

I need some of this.......A LOT of it

Photobucket

OK there's your warning.

Now read away

From USWeekly
Robert Pattinson, rock star?

The British actor, 25, is prepping to record an album imminently, two sources tell Us Weekly.

"Rob has been kicking a few original songs around for a long time, but his schedule didn't allow it," one insider explains of the superstar, who recorded two songs, "Never Think" (which he co-wrote with pal Sam Bradley) and "Let Me Sign" for the original Twilight soundtrack.

"Now he's got some weeks to get everything in line before going back to promoting Breaking Dawn."

But don't expect a chart-topping album (Kate: Wanna bet?) with broad mass appeal and a string of top 40 hits. "The album Rob will make will be guitar-based and drums, very organic-sounding, nothing pop," explains a second source of the indie-music fan, "Like stripped-down Ray LaMontagne meets Van Morrison."

Pattinson frequently had hotel room jam sessions with other Twilight pals while shooting the flicks in Vancouver and elsewhere. His Twilight costar (and fellow musician) Jackson Rathbone said Kristen Stewart's man "loves to play the blues. He can hold his own on a guitar. We enjoyed jamming together when we had the time. Very humble and quiet guy.

"Music is his first love!" says the second source. (Kate: Who knew? Oh wait we all did, carry on....) "He's tortured because he avoids it. When he's sitting around jamming in the studio, it's his favorite moment of life."

To prep for the recording session, the guitar player has been "studying on on other instruments -- like piano and horns," the first source reveals. "It's an obsession for him."

I know it's USweekly but I SO want this to be true I really, really want this to happen. I want him to record his music. I know all of you feel the same. Just imagine it!!

We would all be doing this ................

Thanks to PattinsonStew for the tip!

Michael Welch Talks About Robert Pattinson

This is an old interview but has only just recently hit You Tube.
Michael Welch talks briefly at 6:20 about Robert Pattinson playing music in his hotel room after cast dinners and also about wrestling.

It's kinda random the way he hops from talking about the music to wrestling but whatever.

Oh Sam! Don't Tease Us :)

The Twilight Examiner (Amanda Bell) has a new interview with Sam Bradley and the parts with Rob are here:

Sam Bradley, co-author of the Twilight album's "Never Think (Too Far Gone)" and absolute credit to this generation of music (as are his long-time friends Marcus Foster and Bobby Long), is still in "the mixing process" of creating his first album.

skipped

As for the rest of us? Well, I asked Sam if he and Robert Pattinson were up to anything together in Vancouver (while Rob films The Twilight Saga: New Moon with co-stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Jackson Rathbone, and the rest of the cast), and he said that "yeah, we've written a really good song.”

I asked him whether he might be submitting his work for the The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack, and Sam says that while he “could” submit something for consideration, but that he doesn’t “have anything to submit just yet because if [he] was to submit anything it would need to be at a further level than where it’s at right now.” Only time will tell, Twilight fans.

I also asked Sam if Rob, Marcus Foster, or Bobby Long ever made it up to Paris, France with him to sing back-up for him, and he said (jokingly, of course), that “they were supposed to, and they’re all far too unorganized, and it didn’t happen.” Says Sam, “I’m very disappointed with them all, but it’s okay because it’s not going to stop here. There will be plenty of opportunities down the road.” As Sam Bradley’s number continues to rise, and he embarks upon his stellar journey as an international touring singer/song-writer, that is surely to be true.

About his up-coming album, there is no official release date, but what we can know, says Sam, “well, there are some songs that I have redone, like ‘Too Far Gone.’” Also, the album will feature guest writers such as Robert Pattinson (for his co-authorship of ‘Too Far Gone’) and Sam’s mother, whose song, Sam says, “she wrote with a few other people in England.”

Read on at the source and if you still haven't checked out Sam's music you should! He is really good :) He will be performing at venues around US check them all out HERE.
