Just thought I would share the rest of the story with you all... Well, we all know this picture right? I was visiting Insta-gator in Louisiana last weekend with some fellow twilighters and happened to spot it on the wall. I raced over to it and, although the pic doesn't show it clearly, the paper above the pic says that the alligator, appropriately named, Hollywood, lives at the ranch and that if you ask the tour guide, you can meet him!!!! I immediately went into stealth mode knocking people over trying to find the guide because anything that touched Rob, I MUST TOUCH! Anyway, finally found the guide, who we had nicknamed Marshmallow Man, because he fed the gators marshmallows and because he was hot, and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about, all braun, no brains, I guess. He told us to go ask the short, red-headed guy. So I did, and do you know what he told me? He said, "Hollywood's not here anymore. Rob paid to have him released back into the wild. It's the only time we've ever done that." Needless to say, tears started to form, not because I didn't get to meet the gator, but because our Rob is that sweet! I cried and love him even more if that's possible! And that my friends, is the rest of the story.

GlamourRob was such a success and now we have MSNRob! The man is a NATURAL at this. I was cracking up at him. Sure sure, I have a crazy bias but whatever. I adore the man and you guys do too so you'll love the MSN LIVE chat. He was a RIOT and also, possibly created a storm of X-rated pictures being sent on Twitter as I type....

• If you had to join a boyband, would you rather join One Direction or Westlife? Westlife definitely. They're one of my favourite bands.
• How does it feel to be a part of the ‘British invasion’, being one of a few globally adored British stars like Adele, One Direction, Emma Watson…? I love how they don't include Daniel Radcliffe in that! It's nice, yeah. I like being English.
• what are you doing now as twilight is coming to an end? I am doing a few more movies next year.

Robert Pattinson was just one of the many famous faces that attended the annual Stand Up to Cancer telecast held at LA's Shrine Auditorium tonight. The event aims to raise awareness and money for the fight against cancer as supporters can call in to donate at any point during the commercial free broadcast. Gwyneth Paltrow popped up in the philanthropy's signature tee while her husband Chris Martin was overseas rehearsing for his performance with Coldplay at the upcoming Paralympic closing ceremonies. Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake attended together while Modern Family's Sofia Vergara was on hand to take calls. Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin joined the charitable fun as did Seth Rogen and Minka Kelly. Anne Thompson: Why did you cast "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson as your ice-cold 28-year-old Master of the Universe?

David Cronenberg: Of course you begin with the basics. Is he the right age for the character? Does he feel convincing as a screen presence? Obviously you need someone with charisma to hold the audience for the entire movie. He's in every scene without exception, that's unusual. You want someone proven, who people want to watch, who will never be boring. I knew I would be crawling all over his face for the entire movie, so I wanted someone whose face is constantly changing, through all the angles. And he had to have chops for tricky dialogue. The art of casting is to intuit, to see from what he's done before that he could do this.

Was there a particular performance that gave you confidence?

I saw him in "Little Ashes" as the young Salvador Dali. He does a Spanish accent, he was not afraid to play a character of ambiguous sexuality and eccentricity. That probably of all the things I saw made me think he was the right guy.

Did you cast Pattinson with a certain likeability factor in mind, so that audiences would like him in spite of the character he is playing? Feel some vulnerablity?

I really don't care. I want the lead character in a movie to be interesting, fascinating and complex, but to be likeable to me is way down the list. It's not on the list, because it is a simplistic thing for the lead character to must be likable. He has to be watchable, that's the key, and fascinating, and likeable if it works for the project, fine, let him be likeable. If not I don't worry about it. There are actors who do not want to play unlikeable characters, afraid it will damage their credibility as stars or effect them personally. Actors who are more interested in being actors than stars, like Viggo Mortensen, don't worry about being likeable or not on screen.

How did Pattinson surprise you?

He literally surprised me every day, as he read dialogue and interacted with the other actors. We were throwing different factors at him almost very day because of the stucture of the screenplay. He really has extended scenes. With one actor at the end, Paul Giamatti, he really let it fly, in that he didn't cling to a preconceived idea of what he should be doing. He reacted spontaneously to other actors as they surprised him and he surprised them. He was terrific and not predictable and dead-on accurate.

How many takes do you do?

One or two. The whole last shot was a long take with Giamatti, three minutes in that last 22-minute scene.

Rob is a giver and this time, he's giving back to the Arizona Diamondbacks through their charity project, Home Plate Project. Click HERE if you missed our first post explaining the cause but here's a quick recap on Rob's involvement, along with a couple more details:

• Rob's assistant, Jeff,  who knows one of the HPP team members, asked Rob to donate to the Home Plate Project and Rob was more than excited to do so. 
• The home plate was shipped to Rob and was then sent back about a month ago.
• Rob created a one-of-a-kind, art piece, sketched in pencil and titled it Unfinished City.
• The artwork is on a legitimate, wooden home plate that has been painted white. 
• Rob's plate is being displayed in Arizona with the CEO of the Diamondbacks, Derrick Hall's home plate donation. 
• While bidding was at $150 less than 24 hours ago before the project was spread through the fandom, it is currently at $2525 and rising! Rob's plate is also currently the highest bid plate.
• Click HERE to bid! Bidding ends Aug. 31st.

The Home Plate Project team sent over some better images of Rob's donation as well as the autographed photo that is included in the bid. They will see if they can gather more information about Rob's inspiration but they had this to say: "We're just thankful and grateful that he stepped up like he did and the finished product that you see is from his hands and vision."

We're grateful and thankful, too, that Rob has shared another side of his many talents and for a worthy cause, Ozanam Manor. :)

I reached out to one of the organizers from Home Plate Project (@homeplateprojec) and Tim gave me more information about this awesome, one-of-a-kind, artpiece by Rob!

• Rob drew the artwork by pencil on a real, wooden, home plate. The plate was painted white and you can see the smudge marks by Rob from the pencil. 
• Rob drew the artwork about 6 weeks ago. 
• Rob's assistant, Jeff, knows one of the team members and asked Rob to participate. Rob was excited to do so. 
• The home plate by Rob also comes with an autographed photo that Rob gave to help with legitimacy. 
• The home plate is currently being displayed at the Arizona Diamondbacks HQ alongside the Diamondbacks' CEO, Derrick Hall's home plate contribution. Tim said they wanted to display the plates that would get the most attention for the cause. :') 

Tim is sending over more photos of Unfinished City as well as a close up of the autograph and the signed photo from Rob. He was a really sweet guy and said that he hoped the rare artwork from Rob would help their cause. Little did they know the power of Rob was about to be unleashed ;)

Want to know more about the Home Plate Project?

The D-backs Give Back League is a program designed for Arizona Diamondbacks employees to contribute toward the community. We are an independent co-worker coalition, acting beyond any scope of employment with the Arizona Diamondbacks.  

The Home Plate Project is a fundraiser for local non-profits. The idea of the program is to get members of the Arizona community to decorate home plates that will be provided to them. The plates will then be put on-line here for auction. Participants are encouraged to decorate their plate any way they like that shows their personality, their company’s personality, mission, what they do or just any fun idea they choose. They may paint the plate, attach crafts, apply a photo or again; any way they want to creatively use the space. There is one rule; be creative!!!  

For the first year, the Home Plate Project will benefit Ozanam Manor. Ozanam Manor is a local non-profit that helps people with transitional housing. They specialize in helping people over 50-years old who are homeless, or other people with a handicap due to illness or disease, regain their pride and get back on their feet. Many are U.S. Veterans. The money raised from this project will help renovate areas of their building, which was built in the 1930s, and other needs like a storage shed. Ozanam Manor has a success rate of 75% and they need more funding and volunteer help to continue their impressive success rate. Our team will be hands-on helping with projects or other ways like running a “Toiletry Drive” so residents have the things we take for granted each day. Rob: When I read the script, as soon as you read the script, it's like: wow, it's so different from anything I did before. It's the kind of challenge I look for as an actor. I mean no one else but me got that role. And then I read the script, I really liked the style of it. It was well structured and really easy to read as well.

If Robert Pattinson made young girls fall in love with him, he only has eyes for her, Kristen Stewart, who became just as famous with the Twilight saga. For the both of them, it's not as easy anymore to live a normal life.

Rob: There's no point in worrying about it. And also, when you come to Cannes, you have to expect all this activity around you. People can think whatever they want.

Live your life, Rob, and love it. I demand nothing and love that you share your talents. As a fan, I support you 110% and appreciate the marks you're making in film.

It's been a week long celebration of this for Rob's birthday countdown and we still have one more day to honor his awesomeness. I told you guys I'd share my cringeworthy videos. They go well with the theme so here goes.

I love the Kimmel video. You hear how quiet it was. Peaceful. We were in a holy place. It was like we didn't want to scare the angel away. I got the lead in...he's heading towards our group. Then he's so close, you hear the pen on the paper. GAWD. Listen to his soft voice after..."sure". GAH. I'm all up in that and then...I abandon ship. Flip cam gets the shaft and I go on autopilot. I gave him his gifts, he laughed, he told me I'm ahead of the game, I sound more confident than I am, I ask for a picture, I can't hold the camera for the life of me and ask him if he'll take the picture. I don't like how I sound. I feel like I was like, "Take our picture!" but I also didn't remember any of this dialogue at the time. I didn't even know he told me I was ahead of the game until I played back the tape. And I even replied! I'm psycho. I need to get a grip. Especially when he tells me nice to meet me. You hear the crazy in my tone starting to break through.

Once Rob moved down to C, I snatched the flip cam back up and captured the rest of his holy visit. Some highlights? I'm all up in his neck LOL, you see him come back to C to fix their picture like the sweetheart he is, I get good video of him with M, you see the hound all polite now asking for Rob's picture and then you hear when we start to unravel, including the hound ("Can I see my picture?") LOL :) Rob is the greatest.

We're counting down the birthday and celebrating Rob with daily posts that highlight how awesome he is and how much he is loved. May marks my 3rd birthday in ROBsession and I'm no less addicted and devoted to this talented actor. He's someone worth supporting and being a fan of. His character is gracious, humble, humorous and charming. Based on my public encounters with Rob, his spirit is as attractive as his physical appearance, if not more. It's simple. He's just a really great person and it's safe for me to say in this space, you're crazy if you think otherwise.



When PromoRob is in town, it's like a convention for me and my partners-in-Rob-crime (disclaimer: that's a joke...we don't commit actual Rob crimes). We attend as much as we can (which is usually everything LOL) and we bask in Rob's glow. Twilight has been good to us in terms of seeing Rob. It's a huge franchise and he's out there promoting it fully. This past promo season for Twilight, I got to see Rob outside Jimmy Kimmel, during the Twicon and the world premiere at LA Live, and I was a witness to his historical Hollywood moment at Grauman's. Twicon was video only but the rest was documented in pictures I haven't shared yet.
