Robert Pattinson Birthday Countdown: New/Old Breaking Dawn Promo Fan Account & Pics

Photobucket

We're counting down the birthday and celebrating Rob with daily posts that highlight how awesome he is and how much he is loved. May marks my 3rd birthday in ROBsession and I'm no less addicted and devoted to this talented actor. He's someone worth supporting and being a fan of. His character is gracious, humble, humorous and charming. Based on my public encounters with Rob, his spirit is as attractive as his physical appearance, if not more. It's simple. He's just a really great person and it's safe for me to say in this space, you're crazy if you think otherwise.

When PromoRob is in town, it's like a convention for me and my partners-in-Rob-crime (disclaimer: that's a joke...we don't commit actual Rob crimes). We attend as much as we can (which is usually everything LOL) and we bask in Rob's glow. Twilight has been good to us in terms of seeing Rob. It's a huge franchise and he's out there promoting it fully. This past promo season for Twilight, I got to see Rob outside Jimmy Kimmel, during the Twicon and the world premiere at LA Live, and I was a witness to his historical Hollywood moment at Grauman's. Twicon was video only but the rest was documented in pictures I haven't shared yet.

Jimmy Kimmel Live - Outside taping, Nov. 2, 2011

I have a top 3 Rob encounter list. My first time, PDARob and BD KimmelRob. The order of my top 3 is harder to commit to. On one hand, there's nothing like the first time, but it was so unexpected, I feel like I wasn't even present. On the other hand, seeing RealRob kiss in public is like living in another space-time continuum. That was surreal and also unexpected. Then right in the middle is something expected and something momentous.

It was Wednesday afternoon. I had just parked in Hollywood after I got off work. I called up my girls (C & M) to check they were at Starbucks waiting for me. We were going to camp out for the hand printing ceremony the next day. As I was walking, I passed the alley for Kimmel and saw a single file line formed. We didn't attempt to go to the Kimmel taping because tickets were a bust and the last time Rob was in the alley (WFE promo), it was a hot mess. However, something I've observed over time with PromoRob is that if you give him a single file line, he's going to likely tackle every person in it. Since New Moon premiere,  I've watched him tirelessly sign away and take pictures with fans. You'd think with the bigger he got, the less time he'd have to get everyone in but it's been the opposite. The bigger he's gotten, he's become even more gracious with his fans.

So I see this line and I have a friend (Nancy) who's been waiting in the line since that morning. I decide to go and ask her about the line and who organized it. She tells me the guards did it and want us to be single file and cooperative. You know what that means to me? Get in the line.

I call C & M back up and tell them to drop the coffees and meet me in the Kimmel alley. This wasn't a part of our plan but with us not knowing how Grauman's would go the next day, I had a lot of faith in Rob signing for fans out back.

The girls joined me and we're roughly 150 back. Unfortunately for us, the next people that get behind us are autograph hounds and paps. They were talking so much sh*t but wait until you hear how they were when the sweet angel descended.

We saw Rob arrive and he waved to the crowd before going inside. After he taped the show, it was dark and we were all waiting for him. The air was crackling. No one was screaming obnoxiously but there was still a buzz going through the line. There was also the wise-ass remarks from the hound and pap - "He's not going to come down this line." "He thinks he's too big now." "Remember Me was a flop." Oh my god. I'm glad M was next to them because she's more willing to keep the emotions in check and swat down their claims with a lightness I don't have when it comes to defending Rob.

Rob comes out the doors and the crowd goes wild. They really do. Cheering for him and snapping pictures. He waves to us and hops in the SUV. Everyone gasps and starts muttering softly, "nooooo". Then the "pleeeease" from fans started happening. We were so far down we didn't bother with the loud "come backs!" A couple minutes go by but the SUV is still lingering and Dean is still lurking....

Then Rob hops out the car and heads towards the crowd with Dean in tow. Everyone went nuts. The cheering came back but quickly died down as Rob made his way through the line. That crackling I described earlier was back and it was oddly quiet. You could hear fans mumbling things to Rob as he passed through each group. You heard the semi-controlled shriek from fans after he moved on. There was no pushing because there was no one behind you. The premieres are like body bumper cars and you need to be ready for intensity but his was so different. Everyone was settled in their excitement and just waiting for their moment with the most awesome man EVAH!

When Rob was just 2 groups from our group, I marveled. Times with Rob before have been so fast but this was so slow. He was just hanging out. Watching you. Listening to you. Seeing what you'd like from him and giving it to you. When he was with the group next to me, there was a young girl there that seemed shell shocked. I don't blame her. I was wide-eyed and mouth agape too. After he signed something for her, he looked at her expectedly, as if to ask, "anything else?", but she just took her item and put her head down. It really WAS overwhelming. His calm was like nothing I'd seen before. He owned that line.

Then it was my turn. I dropped my video camera and started my speech. Yes. My speech. A speech I didn't know I had. I was on autopilot. I had goals. I wanted to give him the gift I had for him, ask him to sign my Cosmopolis card and take a picture. He was speaking to me but I couldn't allow his dialogue to interrupt my speech otherwise I'd crumble. I'm posting my videos tomorrow and you'll hear what I mean. He's complimenting me but I bulldoze through that and stay on script. I'm trembling with my camera so I ask him nervously if he'll help. He's certainly used to that as we know from the countless fan pics taken by Rob. Thank God. He laughed at me and took our picture. I love that M also took our picture. I didn't know what C & M were doing. I was so in a zone.

Rob moved down to my friends and I got to calm down a little and just stare like a freak. He was right there. Beautiful, tall, smiley, giggly, gracious. He came back to C to take another picture because when she took it, it was blurry (of course). M snapped a few shots of him. And the hound and pap? Haha! They shut up REAL quick. All soft spoken, "hey Rob, you mind if we take a picture?" He obliged like the considerate person he is. When Rob was a bit away from us, our squeals could not be contained. And the hound? He had M take his picture with Rob and couldn't stop bugging her: "Can I see my picture? You're going to send me my picture, right?"

Rob signed and took pictures with the whole line and the only reason he stopped was because at the very end, the barricades ran out and it was getting clustered and chaotic. Dean was trying to drag Rob away but he was signing as many things as he saw in front of him as he was being moved to his car. He was driven off into the night and I was a-glow. I think this might be my favorite Rob encounter but like I said earlier, I won't commit to that. ;)

He's speaking to me in the picture above but I'm a wreck and can't reply properly.

He could have killed C with this look had she been focused too. It's too intense!

He's seeing the Cosmopolis card I asked him to sign. :)

Handprinting Ceremony - Grauman's Chinese Theater

The next day, we woke up bright and early...on the streets. That didn't matter because it was Rob's momentous moment! We had a great position in line and knew we'd get to see Rob literally make his mark in Hollywood.

This event was like the premieres. It was crazy and bodies pressing against each other and not in that favorable way at all. But none of that mattered when Rob took the stage with Kristen and Taylor. The sun came out to see the event too and the weather was warm and bright. We got to see the arrivals of family and friends. The Pattinsons waved over to the fans and we also saw Rob's friends, Sam and Jeff (also Rob's PA).

During the actual ceremony, we were a tad miffed. The whole fan-side was. The security guards created a human wall making it almost impossible to see what was going on. You'll hear the angst in the video LOL

After the ceremony, Rob made his way to our section. Lucky us! I say lucky us because this event was nuts. For all the security guards, they didn't have a clear idea of where to take the talent to greet fans. Kristen went one way, Rob came our way and Taylor disappeared. I had to get ready fast so it was another case of "take some video then drop it when he's near and switch to camera". People were pushing behind and books were flying overhead but I got my moment with Rob. I gave him another gift and he signed my ROBsessed card this time. He moved on to C next and I attempted to get my video camera back up but Kristen was coming towards us. Video camera went back to limbo and I got ready for Kristen. I only had my ROBsessed card and she's looked at me, pen in hand. I shrugged a little apologetically and told her it's all I have. She laughed when she read it and signed the card. She seemed to be taking her time so I asked for a photo which she graciously gave. Once she passed, I was able to retrieve my video camera and tape the last bits of them near our group. I'll post that tomorrow.

This was a wild event but I was blessed that Rob came our way to sign and take pictures. I'll never forget being there.

Photobucket This was taken by a photographer. The 2 iPhones in the pic belong to C & M, my partners in Rob crime :)

I can't believe I took these next 2 shots. It must have been the Lord helping me out because I was so dazed.

Smiles! Team Dean will love this too. :)

Breaking Dawn World Premiere - Los Angeles

While I haven't been on the premiere front line since New Moon, I have always had some kind of "moment" when the Rob aura was upon me. This story is best with the video. These pics are mainly from Marina. She joined us for the campout and it was awesome. Once you get past the headache of getting into "Tent City", the premiere campout is like a convention. The Twilight fandom meeting folks for the first time, hanging with friends they talk to daily but see once a year, laughing and talking about Rob, Twilight and everything in between. We had a fun spot with "The Boys" drawing some attention. How could they not?

The actual premiere was crazy and I was initially 3 rows behind the front line. Once the stars hit the carpet, that changed and I was in the 2nd row. Things got pretty compact, pretty fast. I was sticking solely to the video camera this time because I knew a picture wasn't happening. Marina snapped some good shots of Rob since he not only hit our part of the line early, he also posed right in front of us. Aside from Rob liking what I had for him to sign, another highlight for me was when Nick (my guardian angel, remember?) told me "that's awesome". GAH. My crush-by-proxy has been going on since New Moon. Team Nick FTW!

SO sexy...

He's thrusting the jawporn at a fan! That should be illegal.

Yup. Nick is looking at me telling me "that's awesome". LOL

Tomorrow I'll post the videos I've been mentioning. I'm massively embarrassed by them but whatever. There are some good moments you guys might want to see and I need to come to terms with the fact that I'm incapable of coherency or composure in the presence of this sweet sweet man.
