FanFic Friday
When I first mentioned the Demonica series, I was on book 1. That was last week. I'm now starting book 5. Safe to say, I'm addicted. My fanfic reading is on temporary hold while I tear through this series and yes, I still see the Sem brothers as Edward, Jasper and Emmett. I was swooning all over the place with Deep In The Heart Of Me updates this past week as I'm sure you were too. I have to check myself when I swoon too hard for Tonio because then I say, "God, he's only 15!" Almost 16 but still. I'm more than twice his age! He tricks me because his mind is sure and his thoughts are layered. A strong, confident man teenager. He was in a tux the last few chapters looking dapper and just *sigh*...ok no more sighing! FanFic Friday
Last time, I was jonesing for some more canon fic and was in the mood for the fantasy genre. I wanted to get down down down with that world again. But I didn't know where to settle! This isn't fic but a friend recommended I read Pleasure Unbound. This is the first book in a series Goz mentioned to me years ago! I dived in and man. MAN OH MAN. I loooooove it. I'm on book 2 and this stuff is HAWT. It's the Demonica series. I don't think I can even do a synopsis justice here. I tell you it's about demons and some of you might turn away. But come on! We love a vampire. Surely you can be open minded. ;) Because trust me. You will LOVE this demon. His name is Eidolon. I pretend he's Edward. And Tayla is Bella. Shade is Jasper. Wraith is Emmett.

What. So I have fanfic syndrome. Don't send help. Just check out this series. Click HERE to purchase or read an excerpt HERE. I love how detailed this world is. And it's not completely unrecognizable. It takes place in New York City and a hospital so you can relate to that in case I've scared you. Don't be scurred. And I still have Deep In The Heart Of Me to keep me attached to my fanfic world. The last chapter had my emotions giving me whiplash. I was grinning like a fool and then tearing up. Such is the life in a counselor story. Ulie's out and now we see what adventures that brings for Tonio.

FanFic Friday
Last week I said I was starting Coming Home and I didn't. I went complete opposite. I read Present Perfect by giselle-lx. It was a quick read but I felt like reading canon fic. I love other work by giselle (Ithaca is Gorges is a major fave, as well as her shorter canon work like Da Capo) and think she has a great take on canon storylines. It's imaginative and feels completely authentic. Check out her fun one shots too about the Cullens.
Present Perfect is about how Alice and Edward became best friends, all pre-Twilight but with hints of the first book sprinkled in. I like how giselle shows Alice's mind and heart at work. I've enjoyed Alice and Jasper canon stories in the past. Finding out what it could have been like for them to first meet and fall in love. Finishing this, of course, put me in a canon and vamp mood again but I'm not sure if I'll stay there. I might go back to Coming Home or even There is a Light - an oldie but one I never read. Tonio is still going strong in Deep In The Heart Of Me. We just came off of the sweeter chapters with him and Sobe. I have a chapter sitting in my inbox calling me name. I can't wait to see what Tonio has planned for his next steps.

I loved Letters to Corporal Masen! This story was so touching. Just lovely. I loved the time period and felt properly transported. I even listen to some songs I have from the 40s through the days it took me to read the story. I also watched Captain America 1 & 2 and caught up with Agent Carter. Clearly, LtCM set me off. It also got me in a mood to check out other popular Militaryward stories I missed. I'm venturing into either Finding Home or Coming Home. Coming Home might win because of the letter writing needs I have post-LtCM. I might reread Mail Order Bride for the umpteenth time since that E&B are so romantic and they start off with letter writing. I get cold feet sometimes starting a new fic and I might reread an easy favorite in between.
I finished the recent update for Deep In The Heart Of Me this morning. It's an instant smile on my face when I wake up and see an update in my email. This update was lengthy and perfectly Tonio. I'd like to say that kid is something else but more and more he's hardly a kid. It's been an experience to read a story from an era where his responsibilities and maturity are quite different from 15-16 year olds today. It has made the adventure pretty captivating. I'm glad it doesn't seem to be ending. :) Counselor, you're so awesome to keep up to date with ROBsessed and shoutout our shoutouts. Keep sharing your wonderful writing talents with so many and we're going to keep singing your praises. xx

FanFic Friday
I left the vamp world and stumbled upon a fic that isn't new (started in 2010 and completed last year) but thank goodness I thought to try it! A good way to find fics is to look at the favorite stories of your favorite authors. That's how I found We Were Here. This is Graffitiward and he is mmm mmmm gooooood. The fic starts in high school but we move past that time in their lives too. It's got just the right dose of angst and the lemons are delicious. I was curious about the author and discovered her first fic was a long time fave of mine, Summer of Salt! This author writes great characters and especially top notch Roses. Give both stories a read if you haven't already and don't forget to check out her outtakes for both fics.
I've now moved on to another story that's back in the world of period fic. I certainly haven't let go of Deep In The Heart Of Me and scurry to read the updates (which has happened just as I typed this! *rushes post*). I have no idea what is in store for Tonio and I relish being back in his mind for a few thousand words. As I wait between updates, I'm reading Letters to Corporal Masen. This story is set in WW2 and is just what it sounds like. We're reading the correspondence from Bella to Corporal Masen. There are some other layers to this story and I'm also enjoying the author notes that read like a little bit of history trivia. Check this one along with the others!

FanFic Friday

I'm in ficbo. And when I'm in ficbo, I reread my all time favorites. I'm also in need of more Vampward. So that means I reread a fic I think I read every season. I'm certain I've mentioned it before but it just has everything I love in an Edward and Bella and then some. So I'm rereading Bronze while I search for something else to match my mood. Some fics you wish the characters just never end. Speaking of which...
Deep In The Heart Of Me is the WIP that owns. It's weird....the longer it gets, the more I feel like it's going to end and I get twitchy but it doesn't seem like it's ending soon and I'm happy about that because I don't EVER want to have Tonio leave! *cries* Clearly the story has me discombobulated. I know I'm not alone. Fingers crossed for an update soon! Counselor seems to always catch these shoutouts so maybe she'll have mercy on this needy reader and give us an inbox alert we're all ready for. *refreshes inbox all day, every day*

Exciting news today for Rob and the Maps To The Stars team, they've received a total of 11 Canadian Screen Awards Nominations.

Rob is nominated in the Best Supporting actor category. He's up against his co-star John Cusack as well as Justin Chatwin, Marc-Andre Grondin & Kris Demeanor.

The 2015 Canadian Screen Awards take place on March 1, 2015 in Toronto and they will air live on the CBC network.

FanFic Friday

The holidays are over and I'm back to talk fics! I didn't actually get a chance to read anything new during the height of the season but I did start up something new since then. I fellow fic reader found out how much I love Darkwards and AUs (alternate universe). I mean I LOOOOOVE them. I'm always down to try one out. I like when we stay within canon E&B coupling but they're out of character and when Edward is Dark with a capital D. Here in the Garden of Sin is the first story and the sequel, which frankly, you HAVE to read if you read the first, is Malice in the Garden. It's a quick read...or maybe I just didn't want to put it down. It's a good AU and I liked the different circumstances we're dealing with regarding Bella. It's creative and Edward has to work hard for what he wants. If you dig the AU world, give it a read!
I also finished Nightingale and it was delightful. I adore period fics and now I want a period, Darkward AU. *snort*
I'm still following Deep In The Heart Of Me by the minute. When I get the email alert for a new chapter, everything halts. If you've also been following, you know how impossible it is, how unthinkable it is to quit Tonio. That boy young man has gotten deep in the heart of ME. *cries*

The other day I asked the good folks of twitter to send me their favourite Robert Pattinson GIFs from 2014. I did NOT anticipate the response I was going to get.
Thank you ALL so much for sending me your faves and I'm sorry I couldn't include them all.

I was sent over 60 GIFs all of which were great but I had the impossible task of narrowing it down to just 10!
To try to narrow it down, I eliminated the ones where Rob was in character (Rey, Jerome), ones that had quotes on them (because some were already in the best quote category) & Dior Rob (because technically he's 2013 ;}). So below are the ones I ended up with.

Just like last week's giveaway, we're doing another set from a previous Fiction Friday author. This is also a throwback to some beloved Twilight fanfic that turned into a published series! Alice Clayton has written a successful series that started with her WALLBANGER story. She shared some gracious words about her start with Twilight Fanfiction HERE when we first held a giveaway. I also shared the Rob pic that reminded me of Edward Wallbanger ("I could picture him: soft faded jeans, hiking boots a la Jake Ryan from Sixteen Candles, off-white Irish cable knit turtleneck sweater, hair all in disarray.")
