Robert Pattinson's LIFE and Queen of the Desert highly anticipated, expected at Cannes & MORE

Siting at #8 for Queen of the Desert and #19 for Life, Rob's 2015 films get some strong love from The Playlist in their 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2015 list! They also gave a shoutout to Idol's Eye and The Trap in their honorable mentions section. Visit the link to check it out.

I liked that last line...."Expect a Cannes premiere..."
Oh we will. We most definitely will.

Dazed had some positive commentary in their Films To Watch For list and see Life as one to "clean up when award season comes around."
Hey U Guys had nothing but great things to say while including QOTD on their list of Must See 2015 Films Which Are Still A Secret: With such a skilled filmmaker at the helm and a brilliantly dense cast relaying the life and legacy of Bell, this looks set to be a hallmark release in 2015.
Thompson on Hollywood has QOTD as a festival hopeful on their 45 Films We're Looking Forward To In 2015 and IonCinema has Queen of the Desert as one of their most anticipated foreign films of 2015. Again...I'm liking the last line...

We'll be paying attention to all festival announcements but let us be real. We know where Rob belongs...

ROBsessed Awards: 2015 Most Anticipated Robert Pattinson Moment

ROBsessed Awards: 2015 Most Anticipated Robert Pattinson Moment

It's so fun to be a Rob fan and each new year brings more sweetness and light! There's much to hope for in 2015 and this final category for our ROBsessed Awards wants to know what you think is the 2015 Most Anticipated Rob Moment.

Here are your 7 nominees....

WorkingRob back on set!
Rob's schedule being a mystery is no surprise. But from Mona Fastvold's updates on instagram, The Childhood of a Leader seems to be up first at the start of 2015. Then hopefully, The Lost City of Z will happen in the summer and who knows what other films fall in to place for Rob in 2015!
Vote for WorkingRob if you just can't wait for him to be back on set and making those movies we love and support!
 photo RobertPattinson34pics08.jpg

The King of Cannes....PART 4!
Rob loves Cannes and Cannes loves Rob! There are 2 films Rob has in his back pockets ready to make their debuts in 2015 - Queen of the Desert and Life. There's a chance Cannes could be their destination and seeing the man glorious in his tux and proud of his work is what ROBsessed dreams are made of.......well that and Robporn.
Vote for The King of Cannes if you say ALL HAIL THE KING!
 photo KoC.jpg

Rob as non-fictional characters!
The next 2 films we'll be seeing from Rob are themed - real life characters! In 2015, we should see him bring to life (pun intended) Dennis Stock and T.E. Lawrence. The directors love Rob and have already expressed how perfect he was for these characters without official promo even beginning! It's easy to say we don't get a lot of Rob on the big screen any more but we had 2 films in 2014 and it's looking like we'll have another 2 in 2015 (and likely 2 in 2016!).
Vote for BigScreenRob is you can not WAIT to see his films!
 photo ResizedLifeRobertPattinsonjpg_large.jpeg

PromoRob is BACK, BABY!!!
For us to have BigScreenRob, we have to have PromoRob! With 2 films to promote, who knows how many premieres, screenings, junkets and festivals he'll be working. When Rob releases a movie, he's all in and it's a good year for any one ROBsessed. SO MUCH PROMOROB! And that's always a good thing for our ROBsessed state of mind.
Vote for PromoRob is you want those jokes, those smiles, those suits and those ClassicRob moments!

PDARob showing you how it's done!
Love in the air brings songs into my heart. Rob has not been keeping his love locked down. He and FKA twigs have found love in a hopeless place and are walking on sunshine. Does PDARob make you feel like a natural woman? Are you ready for the power of love in 2015 because everything is awesome?
Vote for PDARob if you love him like a love song baby!
 photo PDARob.gif

DiorRob. MORE MORE MORE!
DiorRob is all over the small screen lately but isn't it time for MORE?? Rob dropped a little diddy during The Rover promo (see why PromoRob is so great?) about Dior. He said he was going to be shooting another ad soon! While he's "strangely excited" about that, we're just freakin crazy excited! Now what soon means to him, who knows. But we can keep hope alive that "soon" is going to happen in 2015!
Vote for DiorRob is you want the new ad to happen pronto and play on a loop in your boudoir!
 photo tumblr_my9ybyEViw1rpywblo1_1280-1.jpg

MusicalRob makes our world go 'round!
Rob isn't planning on sharing his music with the world any time soon. Or is he? We never know with this one. It's kind of fun that way. We're all just going about our ROBsessed business, being all ROBsessed, when a musical bomb will drop and we get just an teeny weeny taste of the damn near mythical, MusicalRob.
Vote for MusicalRob if you want more of his dulcet tones and talented fingers!
 photo Fingerwiggle.gif

You get ONE vote and the poll closes Dec. 31st 7pm ET. The result will follow an hour later!

The other categories for the ROBsessed Awards have closed! Results start on Dec. 31st at 12pm ET and post every hour on the hour. Check in with us and see who the winners are. We'll also keep a tally HERE so bookmark the page. See you in 12 hours!

NEW PIC From 'Life' Featuring Robert Pattinson & Anton Corbijn Talks Post Production In Hamburg

Anton Corbijn spoke about the post-production of Life in Hamburg in the german article below which we translated using Google Translate.
There's also a sneaky pic featuring Rob from the movie.

 photo IMG_corbijn_mueller.jpg

Translated using Google Translate:
For his latest project Anton Corbijn has returned to the Hanseatic city. In Post Republic Life is currently preparing the color grading for the Australian- Canadian- German co-production.

"It's wonderful to be here again," says Anton Corbijn . Dutch director and photographer had last A Most Wanted Man shot in Hamburg and was enthusiastic about the locations and the special atmosphere in the Hanseatic city. His latest film Life tells the story of Hollywood photographer Dennis Stock, gets to know in 1955 at a party the still unknown James Dean. A special meeting of the addition to the world-famous portraits of Hollywood icon, a wonderful friendship apparent.

The topic was very appealing to him, told Anton Corbijn, who became famous as a photographer mainly by its musicians Proträts. Also on film, he has worked with artists and personalities within his first film control the life of Ian Curtis, the lead singer of the band Joy Devision in scene.

Life is produced on the German side of Wolfgang Müller ( Barry Films) and is expected to mark the 60th anniversary of the death of James Dean in 2015 in German cinemas. The main roles are played by Dane Dehaan and Robert Pattinson. The Hamburg Film Fund Schlesig - Holstein has supported the film with € 250,000 in production.

NEW 'The Rover' Spot ~ The Price You Pay With Robert Pattinson & Guy Pearce

NEW 'The Rover'Spot ~ The Price You Pay With Robert Pattinson & Guy Pearce

NEW Clip From 'The Rover' With Robert Pattinson & Guy Pearce

NEW Clip From 'The Rover' With Robert Pattinson & Guy Pearce

Word of warning. Grab the tissues before you watch this!

From IndieWire:

Australian director David Michôd's ("Animal Kingdom") much-anticipated crime drama "The Rover" will premiere out of competition at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, but before then, here's an exclusive clip featuring Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson.

In the scene we see an intimate and angry conversation between the Pearce character, who seeks revenge from a group of dangerous criminals after they steal his last possession, and Pattinson, one of the criminals left behind after being shot.

In addition to the clip, Michôd also gave an exclusive statement to Indiewire. A24 opens "The Rover" June 13.

"The Australian Outback of The Rover is a world ten years after a great Western economic collapse. It’s a near future of social and economic decay. Services, utilities, law and order have fallen into dangerous disrepair. And yet people from all corners of the world have come to this place to work the mines that feed the new world alignment, that feed the great powerhouses of this, the Asian century.

The world of the movie, as such, mirrors the American and Australian gold rushes of the 19th century. People are drawn to the land's mines and with them come the leeches, the refuse, the hustlers and criminals who hope to exploit the mines’ margins.

This isn't a complete collapse of society - it's an inversion of present-day global power dynamics. This is Australia as resource-rich Third World country. This is the violence and unrest of contemporary Sierra Leone or the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

And at the centre of this world are two men - one, a murderously embittered Australian man, a former soldier who has lost his farm and his family; the other, a simple and naive American boy, too young to remember a time when things were anything other than what they are."

Thanks Pj for the heads up!

Torture Tuesday: Robert Pattinson and David ______________

Hey guys....it's time for some TORTURE!!!!!

 photo EvilLaugh2.gif

Hehe....I really do enjoy this. Let's cut to the chase because you're certainly not going to be pleased. The Rover and Maps To The Stars have had AMAZING press for the past week. CannesRob3.0 is going to blow us away! We're going to see Robenberg reunited! Those two are what classic bromances are made of. All the praise. All the adoration. It's chicken soup for the ROBsessed soul.

 photo headpatCosmopromo10.gif photo RobnDavid.gif
 photo TinkRobenberg.jpg

We're also going to see Rob promoting with another David! David Michôd is no slouch with the Rob love either. The Rover promo with Rob + David hasn't even really happened yet but we know Rob was Michôd's first choice for Rey by a long way, and that he thinks Rob is a really smart guy and knows exactly what he want to do to build his career. Rob also happens to be David's fave...

So the question is....how do you feel about Rob and David___________

That's an easy one, right?

HAHA!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Robert Pattinson's upcoming films, Maps To The Stars & The Rover, continue to be most anticipated films!

Robert Pattinson's upcoming films, Maps To The Stars & The Rover, continue to be most anticipated films!

photo Reybert.jpg Along with Maps To The Stars, The Rover has made some most anticipated lists for 2014 films, notably, the Blackbook list. I've been waiting for Part 2 of The Playlist list to come out because I suspected MTTS and The Rover to have a showing. And a showing they had!

The Rover is ranked #11 out of 100 of the Most Anticipated Films of 2014:
11. "The Rover"
Synopsis: In a war-torn future beset by financial collapse, a man trudges across the Australian desert to locate his stolen car and secure the mysterious cargo found inside.
What You Need To Know: This is the first film for director David Michod since his riveting debut “Animal Kingdom.” It’s been described as an existential western, and it’s being fronted by “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson. Michod is also re-teaming with “Animal Kingdom” co-star Guy Pearce, with the fairly ubiquitous Scoot McNairy onboard as well.
Why Is It Anticipated: “Animal Kingdom” was one of the most exciting debuts of the last few years. That picture captured the sweeping scope of early Michael Mann mixed with Werner Herzog’s anthropological analysis of human behavior, crafting a debut that was both terrifying and utterly unforgettable. While he’s taking things in a vaguely sci-fi direction here, Michod has promised that this will be a relatively grounded affair, a crime picture in the outback that could be indicative of a contemporary mashup of “Wake In Fright” (with the idea of an outsider stranded in the outback) and “Mad Max” (with its emphasis on vehicular action). We’re particularly interested in how this takes place in the foreground of a financial collapse, and how close to modern day Michod wants to make it.
Release Date: A24 has it currently slated for TBD fall 2014.
Maps To The Stars comes in at #15:
15. "Map To The Stars"
Synopsis: Details a twisted Hollywood family: successful self-help magnate Dr. Stafford Weiss and his wife Cristina, who manage the career of their burned-out child star kids Agatha and Benjie, and also come into the orbit of an aspiring actor and a movie star haunted by her dead mother.
What You Need To Know: This Hollywood-set tale, penned by novelist Bruce Wagner, has been in the works for close to a decade, and seems to have been something of a passion project for director David Cronenberg: it's come close to production more than once before, but eventually got before cameras last year. Seemingly closer to last film "Cosmopolis" than his more commercial work on something like "Eastern Promises," it's also home to the director's most promising cast in a long-time, with the returning Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon joined by John Cusack, Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, Olivia Williams and perhaps most interestingly, Carrie Fisher, as 'Herself.'
Why Is It Anticipated: We can't say we were huge fans of Cronenberg's last couple of movies, but the idea of the Canadian legend turning his attention to biting the hand that feeds him is an immediately intriguing one, and doubly so when you start adding drug-addicted thirteen-year-old child actors, pyromania and ghosts of dead 1960s stars into the mix. There are a lot of strong actors here who seem particularly suited to working with Cronenberg (Moore, Williams, Wasikowska), and perhaps more than anything, we're delighted to see John Cusack in a movie that isn't a straight-to-VOD actioner that hadn't already been turned down by Nicolas Cage (with this film along with "Love and Mercy," we're hoping 2014 is Cusack's comeback year). Early pics here for what could be another "Cosmopolis," oblique and chilly, but we've got our fingers crossed for something more satisfying.
Release Date: Said to be aiming for Cannes, though Venice or TIFF might be options too.
 photo GiveittomeNow.gif

A couple more mentions for The Rover on sites we frequent:

Buzzfeed named The Rover a film to look forward to in 2014:
Not much is known about The Rover except its release date (2014), the stars involved (Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson,) and a thin synopsis. So far, we know that Pearce and Pattinson are forced to work together to find a stolen car. Hopefully there will be a trailer soon! This aside, everything points to a great film.
The Film Stage listed The Rover as one of the enticing films on A24's slate for 2014.

WINNER: The King Returns!!!

 photo CannesRob.jpg

With 29% of the vote, looks like we reeeeeally want to see Rob in Cannes for 2014. What if Rob was voting for CannesRob too? LOL We know how much he loves the prestigious film festival:
Rob talking about film festivals: “Cannes is the most important one. I am not even trying to sneak into it.” (source)
Rob talks about his hopes: "When I’m filming a movie I always hope that it’ll be presented in the Cannes festival because it’s the Top League." (source)
Rob talks about his dreams: "Americans don't really know Cannes or don't care, but for an Englishman like me, this is an important festival. When I was little, I was dreaming watching the images of the event and I collected the award-winning DVD movies. At Cannes, everything finally seemed to get straight, because I was recognized by my peers." (source)
Rob sells himself at a discount for Cannes: “If I could go to Cannes every year, I’d be fine with lower salary. I’d like all of my movies to go through that festival.” (source)
Rob's five year plan: "Every film that I make should play in Cannes." (source)
You get the point. ;)) Baby loves him some Cannes and so do we!

The runner up showed that what we're really ready for is PromoRob. We want him back on those red carpets and talking up his films and other Rob-isms. And then we want him to walk off that red carpet and right back onto a film set. :) Rob on the big screen for many years to come!

But distributor, A24, said something recently that really excited us.

One of their favorite movies, EVER?? RIGHT ON!!!

Maps To The Stars: MTTS picked up German distribution but our eyes zoomed in on this tweet from a lucky Toronto Star journalist.
The film is already giving out sneaks and MTTS + "perfect choice" =

Queen of the Desert: Rob's costar, Damian Lewis, was on Good Morning America and shared that his mustache was growing in preparation for an Edwardian look for QOTD. It was cool to see some physical prepping going on for the film. Click HERE to see the video. The producers have also been chatting:

Robert Pattinson's The Lost City of Z will film Summer 2014!

Robert Pattinson's The Lost City of Z will film Summer 2014!

photo coolstuff.gifAccording to Variety, The Lost City of Z will shoot Summer 2014:
Megan Ellison made a serious splash last year as a major Hollywood player with “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Master” through her Annapurna Pictures. She’s remained on the radar this year thanks to “Spring Breakers,” Spike Jonze’s “Her,” David O. Russell’s “American Hustle” and Bennett Miller’s “Foxcatcher.” A less-noticed component of Annapurna has been Panorama Media. Launched at Cannes last year to move into the foreign sales arena, it’s enabled Ellison to using foreign pre-sales to cover part of the production costs and be a player in the increasingly vital international market. Panorama, headed by industry vets Marc Butan and Kim Fox, comes to AFM with “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” Jessica Chastain’s “The Zookeeper’s Wife” and James Gray’s “Lost City of Z,” starring Robert Pattinson and Benedict Cumberbatch. Butan said Panorama started with a skeleton staff of three. “We formally launched in Cannes last year before we really up to speed, but Megan and Annapurna had such a fantastic slate already.” The execs say they’re laser-focused on adjusting to evolving markets. “The marketplace always changes so 12 months later, it’s always going to be different,” Butan said. “The softness in Europe is making life difficult in every market, whether its consolidation, TV or the economy.” Fox said the evolution of digital platforms has not gained at a fast enough clip to make up for the decline in DVD. “Zookeeper’s Wife” is shooting next year and advance sales have been made in 90% of world markets and “Lost City of Z” is shooting this summer. And Panorama will be starting sales on John Hillcoat’s crime thriller “999.”
If you missed the initial announcement, click HERE to catch up! This is a great gig for Rob and he's working with a director he dreamed to work with and no doubt was on his bucket list of directors he MUST work with.

UPDATE: Robert Pattinson to star in Death Grips film, Misoneism, alongside Colin Hanks??

UPDATE2: Colin Hanks says he didn't film a movie with Death Grips. From CoS: Hanks tells Consequence of Sound that news of him making a movie with Death Grips is untrue. So it definitely looks like we can chalk this one up as a hoax. Sorry, folks.
UPDATE: Well now another website is saying Death Grips is denying this to be true.
 photo RobertPattinsongif119.gif

From Pitchfork:
The band tells Pitchfork that none of this is true. There is no short film directed by Zach Hill and starring Robert Pattinson. They don't know who sent the letter. But, this being Death Grips... who knows what's going on.
How odd. There WAS a film Zach Hill was working on as of May of this year. Read HERE.
Fun while it lasted? It did make me listen to Birds....we'll see how this rolls out and keep you posted. :)

Movie updates for Robert Pattinson's Mission: Blacklist (Fall start date!) and Maps To The Stars

Movie updates for Robert Pattinson's Mission: Blacklist (Fall start date!) and Maps To The Stars

 photo ScreenShot2013-07-10at84704PM.png

We posted about this a couple of weeks ago HERE but it was officially announced today with Deadline reporting:
The Swedish invasion into Hollywood continues. Jesper Ganslandt has been tapped to direct Robert Pattinson in the psychological thriller Mission: Blacklist, about a brilliant young military interrogator who spearheads the capture of Saddam Hussein. Pic is based on the life of soldier-turned-intelligence agent Eric Maddox, who funneled his experiences into the 2008 nonfic book Mission: Black List #1 – The Inside Story Of The Search For Saddam Hussein – As Told By The Soldier Who Masterminded His Capture. The Code Entertainment project was announced at Cannes last year, back when Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire was set to direct. Following Sauvaire’s departure, Ganslandt stepped in and will make his English-language debut after directing three features — Blondie, The Ape, and Falkenberg Farewell — in his native Sweden.
Filming is scheduled for the fall. The script is by Band Of Brothers scribe Erik Jendresen, Dylan Kussman, and Trace Sheehan. Ross M. Dinerstein of Preferred Content is producing alongside Jendresen and Kevin Waller, with Code Entertainment producing and financing the project. Jesper is repped by Paradigm and Magnolia.
Did you catch the new info? Filming is scheduled for the fall! Another film blog for MB did a little more investigating and found a date as well - September 30th. Click HERE to read her report. If this holds true, Rob might start Mission: Blacklist after Maps To The Stars. I'm excited about this since MB is the only film of the five indies (The Rover, MTTS, Queen Of The Desert, Hold On To Me, Mission: Blacklist) where Rob is the clear lead. The Rover is close - he shares the screen pretty evenly with Guy Pearce but Mission: Blacklist would be Rob's. So YAY for this moving forward.

One of the screenwriters also tweeted earlier about the updates to the script they're making since Jesper came on board:
As for Maps To The Stars, Carrie Fisher has been added to the cast (as herself) and Julianne Moore, John Cusack and Mia Wasikowska have been spotted in Toronto. Rob obviously isn't there yet but twitter rumors are heating up with one person claiming to see his trailer already setting up and another claiming Rob will be in her city next week to film a movie. Rob is a supporting role in the film so it's no surprise he's not scheduled yet. We'll see what happens and keep you posted!
