How to Be Screenings

To the oldies, I just submitted my thesis! Yay! So I'm 1/2 doctor now :P A big thanks to Dani who has been doing a kick as job on the blog and thanks for all your good wishes :-)

Okay, onto Rob news.

From How To Be News Letter

Don't forget that How To Be will be screening at the Gotham Film Festival in New York tomorrow, 30st October at 6:30pm and again on Saturday, 1st November at 9pm. Oliver Irving (Director) will be attending both screenings. Both screenings are completely sold out, so get there early for a good seat!

We are pleased to announce that the recent screenings of How To Be have been a great success! How To Be won the Audience Choice Award for Best Narrative Feature at the New Orleans Film Festival (NOFF). Thank you very much for your support!

Mike Pearce, who plays Nikki, attended NOFF and participated in a Q&A Session with a phone-in from Robert Pattinson. Our friends at Twilight News have a transcript and some pictures.

We are also very excited to announce that How To Be has been selected by The Anchorage International Film Festival and The Lone Star Festival (Fort Worth, Tex.). We will confirm screening dates and locations as soon as possible.

If you happen to go please share the pictures :-)

And I just saw that Brooke emailed this to me, so thanks babe!

YAY! 1/2 Dr. Goz. Congrats thanks for the love, trying to do my best here. And I wish this film would just be released on DVD or into theaters near me already! Dammit I wanna see this movie.

I know! Me too. The trailer looks so good! Just the kind of movie I would love.

Exactly my kind of movie, very off beat and weird. It looks awesome, oh hey almost 4 thousand visitors to our little blog Heaven...congrats to us big time, and to all the fancy people who stop by.

Gozde said...

Yeah, I saw that too :-) So cool! Sharing the Rob love :)

M'ladies, you both are rockin' it hard with Rob, both vintage and new. I truly appreciate all your efforts and I adore the cozy environment to stretch and gab about our (in a creeper way) very British boy and at times absolutely nothing!

Here's the sweetest of nothing, daily doses of Rob and new friends!

Cheers;o)

I must see this film! While, I am chewing at the bit to see Twilight. I fear that my Rob on film fix will not be satiated.

**Breathing goes back to normal.

Dani---check your email!

Gozde - I totally agree that How to Be seems like just the kind of movie I would love. Can't wait for it to be available to buy.
I'm in Utah and would love if it got picked up by Sundance to give it even more exposure. Not sure I would get to see it. It seems you have to be nothing short of a celebrity to get in. Passes can run upwards of $3,000! I guess I can always try selling a kidney...
If Rob is making an appearance, I may seriously consider that.

HAHA, Emily, That's why you got two right!?

Emily said...

Exactly. One for me, one for Rob. That wouldn't freak him out at all, would it?

Lynn said...

Emily---what is Sundance's time line guide? I know that some film festivals will only take on films that are only one year past completion. And, I think that's why it didn't qualify for San Diego---total bummer.

Dani said...

Coming from a medical standpoint I do not recommend selling your body parts, but you could hired someone else to steal a kidney for you like they did not nip tuck. Im all about protecting you and Rob, but someone else's kidney is most def up for grabs.

p r i s c a said...

Nah, wouldn't freak him out. It would only show that you are not selfish.

Man, i wish HOW TO BE would come to LA. *sigh*
When Oh When...

Dani said...

Oh Betz im loving the new pic. Super cute.

Lynn said...

Dani---you would recommend black market kidney sales! LOL

I thought that you were gonna recommend not seeing HTB while depressed, that has been the going recommendation by critics. Gotta see it!

p r i s c a said...

Dani, thx love.

And how could anyone be depressed whilst looking at that wondrous man on the big screen. Huh?! RIDDLE ME THAT!

Lynn said...

Betz---dig the new avatar! Isn't it weird that Hollywood awards the indie film industry, but, yet films like HTB don't get any love.

Don't feel bad, San Diego didn't get any HTB nookie, either....sigh!

Oh for the love of God, I love a good self deprecating, depressor of a movie. Im jazzed to see Art fall to apart into little pieces and have a life epiphany. Jazzed!

Black market kidneys are the real seller these days, everyone has 2 but most only need 1.

Lynn said...

Betz---agreed, I could never get depressed over watching that wickedly hot mug.

Damn Summit removed the new footage from Rome of Twilight, claiming some ridiculous thing like copyrights!

Lynn said...

Dani---dude, I am picturing ppl in bathtubs of ice waking up to notes saying to phone 911---urban legends are digging in my brain!

Nooooooooooooo!

Lynn said...

Yes, Art (ahem, Rob) does need love---carnal, naughty love!

babbles said...

Dani ~ LMAO, Some rediculous thing like copyright... serioulsy LMAO...

It's all good, we can hold out - it will make the movie better...

p r i s c a said...

Yeah i guess it's better I stop watching it. I gotta say tho, I'm impressed with GOZDE being able to hold out with all the damn clips popping up everywhere. I'm totally weak when it comes to that stuff. Goz-Kudos to you lady. You have the strength of a VAMPAH!

Lynn - I wish I knew more about Sundance but you're probably right about the time line thing. On the Sundance website it says that the program announcement for the 2009 festival will be made the first week of December. It will be interesting to see what got chosen. I heard they get like 50,000 entries (maybe all film festivals get that many.) That's insane.
Poor Rob would be way too cold in Park City. If he's wearing a leather coat in SoCal in the summer, he'd never make it. Of course, we all know the most effective way of warming somebody up, right? Let's see...something about friction and skin on skin contact.

Thanks for the medical/blackmarket advice, Dani. I'm definitely considering my options. Having someone else do the dirty work does sound more appealing...

I was able to refrain from looking at the Complete Movie Guide pics untill I got my own but I have not been good at all with all the trailers and clips - And I watched the Rome one "several" times, Mostly because I couldn't understand anything Kristen said (she mummbles)... I can look at it two different ways - One hold off on all of it to add to the movie experience or absorb all of it to add to the anticipation... Either way I cant stand the wait...

babbles said...

Emily ~ I am a Utahn and I will volunteer my services of keeping him plenty, plenty warm...

Lynn said...

Emily---you are so right! Rob would become Edward in Park City. Dani and I have determined that Rob's jackets are a Linus syndrome---they're his security blankets. I live in SoCal and I never wear jackets until we happen to have the occasional artic freexe. Yes, Rob's a total Linus.

Gozde said...

Haha! Yay! Now I won't have to test my strength anymore. I should write a thank you note to Summit :P

Emily said...

I think you are right about his jackets. It does seem to be more of a habit and comfort zone thing than actual necessity. His little quirks are adorable and we love him all the more for it. The Linus comparison is hilarious.

Brooke - what part of Utah are you in? Hope that's not too personal to share on here.

Lynn said...

Em---I noticed it more with the Sex Drive shots---Rob seemed a little unglued sans jacket. And, it's more then just a bit endearing to see his fashion vunerablity---lots of ahhhhhs!
