Hollywood-Elsewhere gave us a bit more info on the event and a couple more pictures. Not the most flattering thing said about Rob but I liked they said he had a kind face and warm smile:

Roadside threw a luncheon today for Arbitrage star and possible Best Actor nominee Richard Gere at Pizzeria Mozza (641 N. Highland Avenue). Gere delivers one of his career-best performances in Nicolas Jarecki's film, but yes, the Best Actor field is very crowded this year. But the equation is (a) Gere is exceptional in Arbitrage plus (b) he's also been humping it hard and long and honorably for 35 years now, so give it up for the guy.

For some reason Robert Pattinson showed up toward the end of the luncheon. I'm taller than he is. He has a kind face and a warm smile, but his eyes blank out when he listens to someone talking. When he's trying to concentrate or show respect to whomever is speaking, his features go flat. That's L.A. Times reporter John Horn to RPatz's right (or our left) and Arbitrage director Nicholas Jarecki (right).

CJ also reported on Rob's tshirt: Robert Pattinson chills with Richard Gere today while wearing a @STRAYRATS "YÜTH" tee!

yeah well that may be true but it was the way he wrote it just did not make any sense at all..and also when it comes too reporters Rob is very guarded about his life and what not and he does put on the poker face when he feels like he is being bombarded with stupid questions/intrusive questions and just kind of tunes it out and not really listening too the reporter/journalist who is asking the stupid questions I have noticed that in a few interviews case in piont over the summer when he was being interviewed by a morning show called Good Morning America he did the same thing oh he answered the question but in his own way not the way they were expecting him too answer it which was brilliant I might add LOL

I just Lmao, maybe daddy pulled some strings for him to get a job!

The freezer scene is absolutely not odd to like !! , I thought it was hilarious, and I always think back on the scene where he bought the Camaro too, where he cruises with sunglasses on and roaring with laughter hysterically, it has relief and excitement written all over it ! That movie is so good, ....and sad , but also really realistic in many ways.
I really loved Rob in that role.

Hi there Lotte! The freezer scene is one of my all time favourits ;)

Hey Whence, I know ;-) ;-) So humouristic....I hear Arts hysterical laugh every single time I think of that movie ;-)

That part is hilarious! :D It's been a while since I have watched it. I need to watch it soon! His friends are so funny, too. They do the silliest things!

I read your How to be encounter and can just add I simply LOVE Art to death :-)

Gozde said...

Well it seems like many of us do, kind of interesting to think why, apart from it being Rob playing the role ;-)), that we
really like /love Art so much ? Probably instinct, empathy and maybe because we see what upbringing can do to you.....;-/

Gozde said...

I really don't know, perhaps all of it, but I thought of some motherly instinct too, because Art is like a confused pup sometimes... you really want to help him ... somehow... you know what I mean ?

Gozde said...

Yes I really do :-)

Have to leave now ... a hot bath waits for me... See ya;-)

Oh poor guy, sounds like he has been caught in Rob's spell. Come on, think about it....it wasn't Rob's face that was blank, it was the reporter's brain...........yes he has that affect on people. It's called the ROBaffliction,
symptoms include busting out of your skin, (as these women clearly demonstrate) screaming, crying or behaving irrationally. Some people (like this reporter) experience a comatose state and loose total awareness of the world around them!!!! Yeah, he has it bad, he even thinks that someone on earth cares if he is taller than Rob!! Go figure?? BTW don't think Rob would just "show up" to an organised event, someone clearly invited him there and for a reason. He is looking especially luscious as usual! =)

ditto! well said =)

Just re-watched it! It's my favorite, no doubt about it! I think I like it even more now, because I can totally relate to the quarter life crisis thing... feeling like a failure, trying to figure out what went wrong that makes could make a person so worn and confused. Trying to pursue your passion with little support. Alienating people. Finally, figuring out how to pursue your passion. And then realizing there are actually people in life that want to see you succeed. I also have a better understanding of the title "How to Be", now.

I hope Rob does more projects like "How to be" in the future!

*whispers* I'd like to snuggle up to Rob!

OK... it's fine, you don't owe me a thing... laughter is good for the soul and I certainly had it from your post. Just keep coming up with gems like that one... but you are very honest... I wouldn't have known that you got that from the Internet... it was a GREAT line though. LOL...

Gozde said...

and my favorite line is "Jokes are just disguised forms of aggression."

Gozde said...

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH most of us would just LOVE to LOL

Gozde said...

lol sorry that i didnt state the obvious first ;)

My reference to "LA" was taken from the "reporter's" quote. Maybe "Hollywood" would have been a better fit. I just didn't like the negative conotation he implied in describing Rob.

Gozde said...

okay Rosie lets go get em! ha ha ha ha ha and busting balls is my specaility too!

Gozde said...

oh please I would not be surprised LOL!

Gozde said...

Ready anytime, just say the word!

Gozde said...

And I am LOL!

Gozde said...

LMAO That's what I thought. That should have been his first clue that the person listening to him is completely uninterested in what he's saying and just being polite. The reporter is clearly an idiot.
