Just How Gorgeous is Robert Pattinson on the Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD?

Well... it's Rob, so obviously he's utterly gorgeous and I'm sat melting into the couch watching the six part making-of documentary and Edward and Bella's personal wedding video.

Now, as we know, something's a little different this time around. Summit aren't forcing the fans to buy multiple copies from different stores because they all have different extras. This time they all have the same extras, whether you're buying the Target, Walmart, Amazon or FYI version. A breath of fresh air until you have to figure out which 'special packaging' to choose.



I have the Walmart version in my hands... the collector box is made to look like Bella's dress. Now... right off the bat, I did expect it to be a sturdy box like other DVD's I've purchased in collector boxes, but it's not, it's quite flimsy. But inside making up for it, there's the 30x40 inch Wedding Photo Fabric Poster.

The poster is a soft, silky fabric, almost see-thru... and a lot bigger than I expected...it's kinda neat. It's taller than a 5 year old... look!

As for the extras on the DVD itself, we've had sneak peaks here and there over the last few weeks.

The six part making-of documentary is great, I always enjoy seeing that stuff... seeing how they trekked into the mountains on the island and Rob's rippling back muscles in the rippling water as they shot the waterfall scene, Rob crashing the boat and getting a little defensive, making Kristen uber skinny and creating the echo mic 'I am Alpha' wolf fight. Rob filming with a tiny baby was enough to make ovaries explode... thankfully said child was covered in jelly, the only thing subduing any explosions. My only complaint... not enough behind the scenes interviews with Rob.

Bella and Edwards personal wedding video - way too cute. Well wishes from all the guests and lots of awwww moments - in a way, a few 'deleted' wedding scenes. Robward's speech... beautiful. Let's start with forever. ♥

Jacob's Destiny... really? Nope.... fast forward is my friend.

Now onto the movie... you don't need a review for this but you will be able to watch with Bill Condon's commentary.... okay, I admit, I'll be watching it on Edward Fast Forward mode first :-)

Juliette Binoche talked Rob and Cosmopolis with Madame Figaro. Making you the limo love. ;) Also excited to see the "shot like a painting" aspect of the film.

Translation:

What do you do in Cosmopolis, the next David Cronenberg?

I make love in the limo! Belonging to Robert Pattinson, fabulously wealthy man who wants it all and loses it all! It sounds like Cronenberg, doesn't it? Director of photography, Peter Suschitzky, lights up each shot like a painting. Robert and I were alone in the car with a camera and a microphone, and we could hear David's voice coming from a distance: we would redo a take, then another one, etc. There was something clinical about it, which for me was a change from Amos Gitai or Abel Ferrara.

Que faites-vous dans Cosmopolis, le prochain David Cronenberg ?

L’amour dans une limousine ! Celle de Robert Pattinson, un richissime qui veut tout et perd tout ! C’est bien du Cronenberg ça, non ? Le chef opérateur, Peter Suschitzky, éclaire chaque plan comme une peinture. Nous étions seuls Robert et moi dans la voiture avec une caméra et un retour son. Et nous entendions la voix de David de loin : on refait une prise, encore une, etc. Il y avait là un côté clinique qui me changeait d’Amos Gitai ou d’Abel Ferrara.

I'm so thrilled to see Rob acting with Binoche. As well as Giamatti. His character's relationship with Kevin Durand (Torval) also excites me. Plus seeing what he does with Morton, Gadon, Baruchel...hell, everyone! Super cast. :)

I'm getting my Breaking Dawn Part 1 Bluray TONIGHT! To celebrate the US release, I went gif crazy on Friday-Free-For-All. These are from the film as well as BTS features we've been seeing all week (it's easy to spot BTS footage...look for Rob *wink*). I'm going to miss me some Edward & Bella when this is all over. Something to look forward to and honestly, didn't we expect this, from KansasCity.com:

The deleted footage will no doubt make its way onto a longer "director's cut" of "Breaking Dawn," which [Bill] Condon says will eventually be available.

Summit or Lionsgate or whoever would be fools to not capitalize on the missing deleted footage. Box set anyone? With perhaps...oh...Rob commentary? Fingers crossed!
Enjoy the mixture of cuteness, swoony-ness, and hawtness with Rob & Kristen in their epic roles.

Rob showed a lot of range in the 5 new Bel Ami scenes and Alt Film Guide is the first non-fandom site out of the gates with positive remarks (excerpted):

Set in a church, in the first scene Pattinson's ambitious ex-soldier Georges Duroy plays (very determinedly) a game of seduction with Older Woman Kristin Scott Thomas. In the second, Pattinson convincingly plays a drunk Duroy in a cabaret. That's when he runs into the obnoxious publisher Charles Forestier, who will inadvertently assist Duroy in his ascent in Parisian society.


The third scene is set at the Forrestier dinner table. The issue of class is all too apparent — Duroy doesn't know which knife to use — and so are the various seduction games despite all the surface talk about life in the desert and French colonial politics. Even though Pattinson, Christina Ricci, and Uma Thurman are perfectly fine — Pattinson's facial expressions, a mix of shyness and self-assertion, are particularly impressive — the scene-stealer here is Scott Thomas: "I was told that the [desert] sands … sing?"


In the fourth scene, Duroy performs a different sort of seduction, as a little girl falls for her playful "bel ami." The brief follow-up scene features Pattinson/Duroy and his conquest Ricci/Clotilde de Marelle in his dingy apartment.


Though a low-budget production, Bel Ami — as its trailer (and even its poster) promised — is gorgeous to look at.

Lionsgate executives on Friday did much to talk up the synergies between the two studios now that the brain trust behind the Twilight franchise is at work on the launch of the next possible vampire flicks franchise once The Hunger Games debuts next month.

For example, the Breaking Dawn Part 2 trailer will debut on every Hunger Games print on its theatrical opening on March 23 – Lionsgate’s largest ever theatrical release.

I think Rob was fantastic in these clips. As well as the other actors. But we're a Rob blog so let me get back to what I was saying. I think he showed the range necessary for Georges Duroy.
Calculating. Seductive. Charming. Kind. Vulnerable. Embarrassed. Eager. Relieved. Manipulating. Sweet. Nervous. etc. etc. etc. And this was only 12 minutes!

So happy with what I've seen and congrats to all the people that will get to see the whole film in the coming weeks. I'm going to go sob in my pillow now while you enjoy these screencaps.
