Green Day wants Robert Pattinson

If 1994's 'Dookie' elevated Green Day from the Bay Area to national punk kings, 'American Idiot' -- the band's 2004 rock opera which chronicled the adventures of fictional character St. Jimmy -- cemented the trio's status as a world-class rock band. This time 'round, the band is doubling down on ambition.

Green Day's highly-anticipated new album, '21st Century Breakdown,' produced by Butch Vig, is as grand as it is adventurous, featuring 18 songs broken up into three chapters -- 'Heroes and Cons,' 'Charlatans and Saints' and 'Horseshoes and Handgrenades' -- and two new protagonists: Christian and Gloria.

In a wide-ranging, hour-long conversation, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong talked with Spinner about the new album, what he thinks of right-wing conservatives, his love for Robert Pattinson and the two things he'll never, ever do.

Who would you want to play Christian and Gloria if this were given a big screen adaptation?

The girl that played in 'Juno' [Ellen Page] -- I think she could be Gloria. The song 'East Jesus Nowhere' -- I got the title from 'Juno.' There was that one part where the mother goes, "Why are you driving out in East Jesus Nowhere to go hang out with that couple." And it was like, "Oh my god, I've heard of Bumf--- Egypt, but East Jesus Nowhere? That's amazing."

And Christian, I'm gonna say maybe that kid in 'Twilight' [Robert Pattinson]. He's a good actor. There's still more to come with that kid.

People Have WAY Too Much Money

LovePattz on Twitter sent me the link to a special handmade Edward Cullen doll on ebay. The doll is really beautiful (although it doesn't look like Rob) and all but the bid is at $590 right now and there are 2 days to go!!! It made me wonder why the bids were so high then I saw this bit at the end of the doll pics:

“Robert Pattinson is a perfect mixture of obsession and mystery, which makes him a fantastic cover star,” says Wakeford.

“He’s bright, cool and handsome, yet doesn’t have the persona of a boy like other heartthrobs. With the Twilight books and movies so prevalent, Life & Style’s readers are obsessed by him and his character Edward and are addicted to every new piece of information they can get about him.”

What’s the really special part about Pattinson?

“And if that weren’t enough, who can resist an English accent?” asked Wakeford. (who also has an English accent!)

Robert Pattinson Under Siege In Canada
Security is stepped up after fans storm the New Moon set...

Robert Pattinson's heartthrob status is creating all manner of headaches during the shooting of Twilight sequel New Moon, it's claimed.
Security has been tightened after an influx of fans descended on the Canadian set in the hope of getting a glimpse of the British actor, who plays Edward in the vampire saga.

An insider said: "It's got to the point where security measures have had to be trebled to keep these people off the set."

So far attempts to shake off R-Patz's army of followers have failed.

The insider added to British newspaper The Sun: "At one point, a fake shoot was set up to throw these kids off the scent but they are surprisingly resourceful.

"Robert is having to come to terms with having his own personal fan club wherever he goes."

How cool is this? LovelikeaCullen sent me the scans of Greek Glamour.

She says: Its the GQ photos and a worship piece of an article. They mention ROBsessed and say they will hang around your page while counting down the days for New Moon. Here is a translation from Stella:

It gives a brief intro about his first appearances as an actor, till the moment that he was rehearsing his role of Edward in the director’s bedroom with Kristen. Even though he was terrified at the audition, he was thrilled to be with Kristen, because he was been very impressed by her play at “into the wild”.
