15 a 20 Interviews Robert Pattinson

It’s almost 4:00 O’clock in the afternoon, and we’re in Cannes, France, one of the most important Film Festivals in the world, to which stars like Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Salma Hayek often attend… now also our dear Robert Pattinson. When he arrives for our interview he’s very kind and smiley, though a little nervous due to the fans who pass by to watch, or who have approached him. This guy really has his feet on the ground, and the compliments from so many gils haven’t changed the way he is. Good for him!

About his ghostly return…

Now that we’re settled, we start to chat, and the obvious question is: What will we see in New Moon?, considering Edward is not very much in it.
“I think you will be surprised. This movie is very different from Twilight. Visually, it’s very different: the first movie looked and felt like and indie movie, it had a low budget. New Moon is something larger, more polished, with a visual style that resembles oil paintings, and it’s very cool. You can definitely feel the masculine energy. There’s more special effects and action too.

He shares about his return to the saga: “I think I’m doing way better than I did in the first movie” (he laughs. He laughs a lot, actually) “I think, playing Edward gave me the opportunity to get better at my own work. Plus, the dramatic arch of the character gets more complicated. In the first movie he talks a lot about doing the right thing for Bella, but it’s now when he makes a drastic decision. He knows he’s making a big mistake, and he tries to make it up for it. Internally, he’s a very interesting character.”

As the interview gets a more serious tone, the giggles and laugh appear again as soon as we ask him if this movie is more about Jacob Black and the wolfpack. Jacob is the hero now: “Let’s say he is. That’s the way it was written in Stephenie’s novels”. And you’re not jealous? “No” he answers and starts cracking up, “the truth is, no; in fact I like that I’m a supporting role. When you don’t have the responsability of carrying the whole movie by yourself, the pressure is less, and that’s a relief. When we did Twilight I was very stressed out and nervous; now I finally enjoyed the filming of the movie and that was a great pleasure, because it was a stress-free environment. I could take a few days off and have a vacation, for instance, when we went to Italy.”

He believes his popularity will pass.

Without a doubt, life has changed too much for Rob since he took the role of Edward Cullen. The first time our magazine spoke with him he already had a lot of fans, and when he came to Mexico it was a total mad house, remember? Now that he’s a world star he lost his privacy. Has it been hard adapting to this new life? “I don’t know! I honestly don’t know!” he answers with absolute honesty “it’s about taking things as they come. There’s no point in struggling against everything that’s happening because it will still happen anyway. Even 3 months ago I still got a little paranoid with all the attention, but I’m more relaxed and peaceful now: it’s alright. I try to work as much as I can and trying to focus on the good things that have come out of this situation.

Having to deal with everyone wanting to approach you everywhere can be very irritating. They talk to you like they know you, many of them demand your attention, and if you don’t pay attention to them, they won’t leave you alone. But it’s a change in my life that I have to adapt to” he resigns himself, “that’s life, a series of ups and downs. I think one day they will stop paying attention to me, and I hope that happens”. Don’t count on that, Rob, sorry! (magazine’s words, not mine lol).

So you never wanted to have this many fans screaming for you? We ask curiously, as he laughs, embarrassed: “No, definitely not. I always wanted to be an actor and have some sort of recognition, but not a fame like this, I swear! I think all of this has got more to do with the Twilight saga than with me. Having fans screaming when they see me feels almost like a joke. It’ll pass, because these things are over sooner or later. The day will come when nobody is going to scream at the sight of me.”

A very busy vampire

“Before filming Twilight, I had already signed on for two movies that are yet to be filmed. Since the release of Twilight I’ve received many scripts, but I haven’t liked any of them as much as I liked the first scripts I accepted; plus, with the Twilight saga I’m committed for two years more.”

And Kristen?

Bringing up the topic of Kristen is not easy; in fact, we’re hoping we won’t get kicked out of the interview. Fortunately our question is done without further problems… It’s still gets Rob in trouble, who stutters. Oops! We made him nervous!
“Uh…well… she has gone exactly through the same thing I went through, so she understands me. Since the beginning we’ve been very good friends, and she’s an extraordinary person and the best actress I know, so I’ve always had a very special connection to her” he says.
Whether or not they’re dating, only they know. Time will tell.

Big business for a 'New Moon' romance

From CNN.com
Are they or aren't they a couple? That's the multimillion-dollar question fueling the "Twilight" franchise.

According to gossip magazines, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been hooking up, breaking up, making up and shacking up for the past year. And as long as Pattinson and Stewart manage to keep fans guessing about the status of their relationship, they will manage to keep them captivated, helping to drive the box office sales for a movie that could have one of the biggest opening weekends of all time.

"Rob and Kristen become significantly less interesting as they confirm their love. The intrigue over Rob and Kristen stems from their youthful lust, and passion, and on-and-off, whirlwind relationship," said Jared Shapiro, executive editor of Life & Style Weekly, the first weekly magazine to put Rob and Kristen on their cover. "It's part of the fascination, that while real, they are also part fantasy."

Early on in the Rob-Sten (as MTV has begun to call them) mania, the pair issued denials of their love. Stewart claimed that in Rob she had found a "good buddy." Rob joked that he had asked Kristen to marry him several times but she just kept denying him.

'New Moon' Director Chris Weitz Reveals DVD Details

Weitz plans to include at least 20 minutes of deleted material from the blockbuster.

BEVERLY HILLS, California — After this weekend's record-shattering opening, "New Moon" is now officially the biggest film of 2009. In a few months, it will inevitably become one of the biggest DVD releases of 2010.

So what can we expect from the "New Moon" DVD? Recently, we caught up with director Chris Weitz and got the scoop on the disc you'll soon want sitting next to "Twilight" on your shelf.

"There will be a commentary track," Weitz revealed, saying that he'll soon head into the recording booth with his three big stars, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. "It'll just be us riffing off each other in our intimate way," he grinned. "We kind of like each other, so that should be fun."

It’s Official: “New Moon” Even More Dominant Than Estimated

From Gossip Cop
It’s official.

Over the weekend Gossip Cop reported box office estimates, but now the numbers are final. Sources at Summit Entertainment tell us “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” grossed an astonishing $142.8 million over its first three days, for a $35,497 average on 4,024 screens.

Kirsten Prout talks Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and New Moon Mania

Popeater did an interview with Kirsten Prout who plays Lucy (one of the vamps who turns Jasper) in "Eclipse". She spoke about the "New Moon" mania involving all the cast and also about Robsten. Here are the parts where she mentions Rob to read the full interview head over to the source.

So 'New Moon' is breaking records today. Have you felt the mania yet, even though your film hasn't been released yet?

"For sure. I think the real point when I felt complete and utter mania, was when I showed up to the 'New Moon' premiere. And there were fans, this was on Monday, there were fans that had been there since Thursday, camping out in tents. You walk out onto the carpet and your heart just stops, because it's like winding all the way down the street. There are these people who are screaming and they're crying. And Rob (Pattinson) and Taylor (Lautner) and Kristin (Stewart) show up and people are just bawling their eyes out. And you're like, what is going on here? This movie hasn't even come out, but still, I had people just screaming and asking for my autograph. And I get recognized in stores. It just goes to show you that, it's not even out yet and people have done their research already, and you're like, oh my goodness! They're so obsessed!"

I hesitate to even ask this, but what do you think about all the buzz around whether or not Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are a couple?

"Thank you so much for asking it that way. On the red carpet, you should have heard it. The questions that were being asked. But at the end of the day, it's funny. People want to believe that they are a couple so badly, because of the Bella and Edward storyline. It is what it is. When you're in the public eye, people tend to view you as your characters. But people just need to keep in mind that they're both people. And they both have their own dynamic that's completely separate from being a vampire and a human. [laughs] They're two actors...they work in the same industry. They have a lot in common to sort of talk about on set. They certainly get along very well. But the speculation about whether or not they're a couple, I mean, who can really say? It changes every day. The media's opinion on it. I don't know if at any one point it's accurate."

"I think they're handling it very well. They have a lot of fun with it. [laughs] At the end of the day you just have to focus on relationships and be able to laugh about stuff like that...they're very private people. They're extremely private people. And I mean, they'll do what they want and if they're not a couple, they're not a couple. They're just good friends. And if they are a couple, they make an amazing couple. At the end of the day, it is what it is."
