More information on Robert Pattinson's newest project, Hold On To Me

Hold On To Me made Variety's list of films that has AFM (American Film Market) buzzing and Film Nation released more information about the film.

Photobucket From FilmNation:
FilmNation will handle international sales and distribution on Academy Award® winning director James Marsh’s (Man on Wire) Hold On To Me starring Academy Award® Nominee Carey Mulligan (Drive, The Great Gatsby, An Education) and Robert Pattinson (Twilight, Cosmopolis). Hold On To Me is written by Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace) and is an electrifying thriller based on the extraordinary true story of a femme fatale who kidnaps and ransoms the town’s richest man. The film will be produced by Alexandra Milchan alongside Todd Field and Indian Paintbrush’s Steven Rales and Mark Roybal.
Mulligan plays Nancy, a small town girl who callously leaves her boyfriend Jimmy (Pattinson) behind to chase a modelling career in New York City, breaking his heart in the process. To Nancy’s surprise, New York isn’t impressed by her and at 26, she’s back home waiting tables at the local diner. When she gets word that Jimmy has become a wealthy and successful criminal in Chicago, she tracks him down with a view to winning his affections, only to find crushing rejection. Fuelled by jealousy and an unquenchable thirst for fortune, Nancy finds Danny, a naïve pawn she can seduce and manipulate to her own ends and together they embark on a life of crime. Success comes fast, and leaves faster but nothing and no one will stand in the way of Nancy’s naked, dangerous and deadly ambition.
The producers commented, "Glen Basner and his team are simply the best in the business. We are elated to be partnering with FilmNation in bringing to life this stranger than fiction, true crime story."
Sales will commence at the upcoming American Film Market.
FilmNation’s Glen Basner said, “Hold On To Me is a compelling and sexy modern day Bonnie and Clyde story that we’re excited to introduce to buyers at AFM. Carey Mulligan is certain to deliver one of the most memorable femme fatale performances in cinematic history.”
This is clearly Carey's vehicle but how great does it sound?? I'm so excited for Rob to be a part of it. Hell, I'm excited for Rob to be a part of all his upcoming films. He's working with great artists and the stories are so compelling. We have much to look forward to, DR. :)

Rob is playing a criminal. Interesting. Exciting. Can't wait!

Gozde said...

Sounds enticing!

Gozde said...

I wonder who will play as Danny?

Gozde said...

Loved the plot...he starts as a good heartbroken guy and then he ends up as a powerful criminal, sounds really good for Rob's career!

Gozde said...

This latest vehicle for Rob sounds intriguing and excellent and I am completely giddy thinking about all of Rob's upcoming films -- my daily Rob obsession continues -- I am on a natural Rob HIGH at all times and, ah, life is so good!!!! (The Ultimate One reigns supreme!)

Gozde said...

Compelling even !

Gozde said...

Oh hell...any appropriate adjective may be inserted in the following phrase "Sounds _________!"

Gozde said...

wow sounds interesting

Gozde said...

Rob is going to play a criminal !!!! This sounds so intriguing !!! love the plot,  sounds very exciting and based on a real story to boot !! way to go Rob !!

Gozde said...

Oh, wealthy and a criminal! why does this sound like a fanfic to me. I'm excited to see what becomes of this.

Gozde said...

Hope this company do better distribution, promotion than Eone did for Cosmopolis.Still disappointed and honestly a  bit bitter for wasted opportunity for Cosmopolis  in terms of Box Office and awards.Whenever I read the list of possible award contender makes me infuriated Rob's name was not there.

(OT: Heard Edward is dropping % in MTV fight. It's not important really I'm just a little concern if Edward lose I can only imagine tabloids write ups about Rob.MTV as lame as it seems still matter to some media.I'll bite and vote if I can cause don't like the repercussion if he lose but can't were blocked)

Gozde said...

does any one has the lattest word on QOTD , last heard they were going to start filming early next year . As per Rob's interviews he will be filmimg Rover , then Mission Blacklist but he did not mention QOTD ........so was wondering ....does any one have any news about it cant wait for Rob to play Lawerence of Arabia !!

Gozde said...

Sounds like a good film... also sounds like another indie 'yay' *sarcasm*
Do we know who will play Danny?  Will Rob be killed off in yet another movie?
and don't get me wrong, an indie is just as good as a blockbuster ... just way less available to people in smaller cities is all.
;D

Gozde said...

Have wanted Rob in a film with Carey for ages - she is such a good actress and of course it goes  without saying Robs a bloody good a actor....can't wait.

Gozde said...

ya know? I was going to ask the same question. It probably is another indie film...damn

Gozde said...

gmta?  lol

Gozde said...

Another great project I can't wait to see Rob in all this movies and with great directors and actors.

Gozde said...

The wind is starting to pick up here, I hope we don't loose power.

Gozde said...

something about this part sounds extraordinarily HOT!!!! sooooo looking forward))))

Gozde said...

hmmm... very interesante!:) Pretty sure it's gonna be an indie...that's what Rob and Carey (especially) seem to have been doing a lot of lately.  I am pretty excited about this one. so far it sounds like a stellar cast!;)

Gozde said...

Take care. Wishing all the best. x

Gozde said...

Ohyes please everyone whose living on the east coast please be careful I love u all. I love u rob we r very proud of u

Gozde said...

Where do u live

Gozde said...

I bet Rob will steel the scene as the wealthy criminal and heartbroken boyfriend. the crushing rejection? - i have only ever seen him angry once on the fan video of the NY cosmo premier where he said 'give that back' to someone in the crowd. it was chilling so goodness knows what he'll be like with a great script. sounds like it could be an incredible cameo role for him. who knows what this will lead to?

all my best wishes to anyone suffering from hurricane sandy, hope its over soon.

Gozde said...

Hope everyone in the path of the storm can stay safe and well, thinking of you all.

Gozde said...

Thanks-- winds are ferocious here (I am in the C zone of Brooklyn, so not evacuated) and I am thinking of staying away from the windows. We've had scaffolding around the buildings for renovations and I wonder how secure it is, as well as the stuff that was on it. I am not sure I've ever seen full view of trees blown like this extreme.
Safe, all.

Gozde said...

Is it cameo? I had thought something more than that.

Gozde said...

With a movie by a Academy Winner director, an Academy Nominee Actress and successful producers this doesn't sound like an "Indie" movie at all.  It may not make billions of dollars, but I'm will to bet good money that this film will have widespread distribution in the US.  This should be a cool movie and I can't hardly wait for next year to get here.  Rob is going to have a blue ribbon year when everything hits the theaters.  Look how well Cosmopolis did as an indie film, with limited distribution.  Just with those of us on this site, Rob will continue to rock any film he makes! All for one,  All for Rob!

Gozde said...

Am I the only one who grinned like crazy upon reaching "Robert Pattinson (Twilight, Cosmopolis)"? What I mean is, it's not just Twilight anymore (though I certainly would be happier if Remember Me or Little Ashes or Water for Elephants is included ;P) but this is something. Just thinking how he would have the same line-up of many more acclaimed movies in the future gets me riled up in a good way. :) Wouldn't complain anymore, even if it would be a bummer not to always see his movies on the big screen. He could do all the indies he want, as long as it helps him broaden his horizons and makes him happy, I'll support it in every way that I can. For I know I'll be a satisfied fan anyway. Not going anywhere. ;)

So thank you Rob! Thank you for continuously giving us, your fans, an exciting ride of following your career. For being so interesting. For the new projects. For being you. For everything. Keep 'em coming! :)

(Geez,I just re-read. I know I'm preaching to the crowd here, but he just makes me so damn proud of him, I have to say it, out loud. lol I'm so excited for him to start filming! *jumps up and down* )

Gozde said...

Does Nancy kidnap Jimmy or somebody else? I'm confused.

Gozde said...

Just recieved news from my brother living near the mountains of NC. It is Snowing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Everyone be safe!!!!

Gozde said...

Storm is getting worse here too.  I can't lose power during BD2 press junket week!

Gozde said...

Carey Mulligan has worked with Ryan Gosling, Leo DiCaprio, and now the one and only Robert Pattinson...lucky girl!

Gozde said...

She's lovely, isn't she?! I think they'll have great chemistry, jaycee!!

Gozde said...

I'll be thinking of you, Solas, and our Robsessed friend MrsLPattz, as Sandy moves up the east coast! Stay safe, warm, and dry...fingers crossed for NO power outages!

Gozde said...

i hope i'm wrong of course but i read on a film site that it was a small flashy supporting role. i'll take out cameo in my post. yes i think cameo is like SM in twilight and BD1, its apparently 'establishing a character as important without having much screen time'

Gozde said...

First, the left side of the banner stops me in my tracks every time! I love everything about it - from the pics to the colors - beautiful! Ahhh...*daydreams*

And I'm very excited about the pairing of Rob and Carey, curious about how much screen time he'll get, hopeful that the film's distributor will have their act together (they better!!! grrr!!), and insane enough to hope Rob and Carey will have to have a sex scene or two to develop the relationship b/w their characters!! Yes, I'm that shallow!! I can't wait to see what Rob brings to the role...he never ceases to surprise and amaze! Love him!!

Gozde said...

Please never apologize for preaching to the crowd, we embrace every lovely word you have just expressed and feel the same way about the most attractive, talented, sweet person on earth (thought I'd throw in a little MORE "preachin' -- never enough!).

Gozde said...

i hope that it will be at least as huge as the new version of "The Great Getsby"(yeah, starring CM as well)...what i mean is that it`s not some typical blockbuster, but an exciting and highly anticipated movie as well. and it seems some really nice release, not an "indie" one, if you know what i mean

Gozde said...

YESSSS!!!!!

Gozde said...

Take care, all who affected by the bad weather :)

Gozde said...

Michael Fassbender too (Shame).  In fact she played in highly acclaimed movies.

Gozde said...

Solas, our TV news was filled with storm urging to NY.  I wish you and all other New-Yorkers the very best.  Be safe and careful!!!

Gozde said...

I was wondering too what's up with QOTD.  Shooting was first set to late Fall, but now The Rover seems to be his first project, followed by MBL.  Rob's experiencing the unpredictability of indie movies, don't know if he'll like this part of movie making that much.

Gozde said...

So excited for this!!!!

Gozde said...

I'm in the UK but been to NY three times and around the East Coast area, I'm seeing it on the news here and it looks ferocious.  My son has just shown me an amazing photo taken of the sky over the Statue of Liberty, it's an amazing photo but being there must be very frightening.

Take care.

Gozde said...

did you read "Nancy's NAKED, dangerous and deadly ambition" ? we might get suprised what that means...maybe oh maybe...i don't dare to say it....maybe we get something peachy if you know what i mean...

Gozde said...

Somebody else. It's based on an actual kidnapping of the son of a local wealthy businessman from a small town in Illinois, Stephen Small, by Nancy Rish and Danny Edwards.  They had provided food and water in the box he was buried in, so intended to keep him alive, but the airpipe they used was too short so he didn't survive. However, the script has changed the circumstances, motivations and the way it plays out, and added the character of Jimmy.

Gozde said...

Glad to hear you are safe, and all wishes for staying that way!  :-)

Gozde said...

Nope still like/agree with your thoughts.
Sometimes can't believe how young you are.So smart and insightful :)

Gozde said...

Don't worry I'm sure the mods will repost the videos and pictures for us east coasters!

Gozde said...

I've read the real story on wikipedia and, unless his part is made bigger, I think Rob's role will be rather small.  The part of Danny is bigger, curious to know who will perform him.  According to a regular here, I think she's Aprat, we can expect Rob in a leather jacket on a motorbike.  Visions of young Marlon Brando come to mind!! Btw, he isn't the one who's held hostage.

Gozde said...

yep, i did too. i even thought Twilight looks stange next to Cosmopolis though of course that is the "biggest" thing in his career so far. i'm wondering if in a few years when he made more great movies like Cosmopolis Twilight will vanish or if it's still the movie they name first. strangly it doesn't fit, but it makes sense nonetheless. and in some ways i don't mind at all because he and we all have to thank Twilight a lot.

Gozde said...

All for Rob, and Rob for All!!!!!!

Gozde said...

Just watched Shame. Saw a whole lotta Michael Fassbender. Compelling plot and again, a different kind of role for Rob to display his range. It does not sound like a supporting role per se either, just that the story is not about him.

Gozde said...

"insane enough to hope Rob and Carey have a sex scene or two..." hehe OK glad to know I am not the only shallow one! Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Gozde said...

It is part of Sandy. Multiple storms in one. There is a blizzard warning from Western Pennsylvania down to North Carolina - expecting at least 2 feet of snow!!! They are showing small chance of tornadoes on the backside of the hurricane too, after it makes landfall. Completely nuts what all the shore communities are going through, yet looking out my window in Manhattan, seems like just another windy and rainy day. The scenes on tv are unreal. There is a crane dangling off a high rise in Manhattan. This is like a movie.

Gozde said...

Stay safe.

Gozde said...

mmm, small doesn#t sound good. the way they tell the story above i thought it could be a developed supporting role. i guess we have to wait. he has so many good projects coming up, it's okay for me if his part is kind of as short as Paul G.'s is in Cosmopolis. it still was a big bang.

Gozde said...

i can't believe it's already time. the next days is press junket time. that means a lot videos coming up.

Gozde said...

to all our friends on the East Cost, stay safe!
Solas, please take care and keep away from the windows! you made me worry.
we get pictures of the storm all the time here on tv, will think of you all the next days!

Gozde said...

Yes, you all are very shallow.
Talking about sex and Rob on screen, shame on you,.....wait???....sex + Rob+ multiple times on screen??? Do you think we'll get a Butt shot?!!!!

Gozde said...

I got so excited when I read this description of the film. Rob's character jilted, then becoming rich, successful criminal (in Chicago no less - makes me think of EP), & giving crushing rejection - sounds so exciting!!! Something Rob can no doubt really get his acting chops into too. I got the impressions his role isn't too tiny either - hope not. Either way looking forward to hearing & seeing more about it. So many good projects to look forward to next year!! YIPPEEEE!!

Gozde said...

I also thought it would be a supporting role.

Gozde said...

I think he's looking to build a solid and diverse career by working with the best in the business based on scripts that are the most challenging and interesting to him.

Gozde said...

I was watching the news on line and there was a journalist reporting for Long Beach and I was wondering, where do I know Long Beach? Long Beach? why does this sound familiar?  It took five minutes to figured out. Of course I know Long Beach silly me. It's because of Rob's cup right? I forgot to thank him for my geography lessons.

Gozde said...

Hahahaha!! Mizzar!! You crack me up! Peachy?! Yes! That would be fine with 99.99% of us in the DR. And believe me, I hate objectification, but I also love Rob's long, lean body. It's a difficult battle to take the high road...and I never quite make it there, since I happily wallow in the DR with all my friends....

Gozde said...

I think she's lovely...I'm looking forward to seeing her in the Great Gatsby, too.

Gozde said...

you and your typos dina ... I swear~!
Rob's CAP ... not CUP .
you can't talk about Rob's cup without me thinking of where a cup goes and what it covers and protects ...
yeah.... can't go there!  :P   LOL

Gozde said...

Now look who's reaching...rather sports minded aren't you!

Gozde said...

Ha ha ha you should see me now I am typing without my glass on cos I am wrapped up in a blanket and I cannot bother to reach for my bag.

Gozde said...

Hi Mel, ITA!  This looks like such a brilliant story and sounds like a fantastic team behind it.  He and Carey M are going to look amazing on screen together.  :-)

Gozde said...

and you know how i see it. there is no objectivication if you see the whole person, and not just his body. i love his heard, body and soul!

Gozde said...

After i wrote that, I scurried off to bed and snuggled under the quilts for a safe and rare nap!

Gozde said...

thanks. :-)

Gozde said...

This film should be good...just hope it comes around so I can see it. Never did get to see Cosmopolis.

Gozde said...

 Yes! EP

Gozde said...

you KNOW I am!  I've declared Bama and UK as heaven on earth sooo many times here!  LOL
now.... I am thinking of another heaven on earth! :P

Gozde said...

I'm in Maine...it's VERY windy expecting winds up to 65mp. Coastal flooding expected and power outages just glad we don't have what  PA and NC are getting I heard about the snow earlier today.

Gozde said...

Yes and it will be nice to see Rob in roles where the success of the film doesn't rest on him - fun and experience for him too.  Smaller roles can lead to big things and he seems to be working with all the right people who will remember him when it really matters!

Gozde said...

I'm afraid to ask... I get Bama and UK but what is the third?

Gozde said...

really glad there is more info on this project + I'm super excited he is working with carey.

Anyway If I'm not on tonight its because it's because I lost power because of hurricane sandy. hope everyone in the northeast if the US stays safe.

Gozde said...

sounds really good!

Gozde said...

I know what you meant...

Gozde said...

So true!! The sum is greater than the parts....

Gozde said...

Oh! What a drag!! Where are you, MsTaurus?

Gozde said...

I picture him rather like a Eric Packer twin. Elegant in nice suits. A gangster but doesn't look like one. It has always been a supporting role.

Gozde said...

I'm in Maine and yeah it is a drag. There was another movie that looked really good Armitage it didn't come round here either. At least BD2 will be shown in the theaters here.

Gozde said...

BB, are you talking about his role in the topic project with Carey Mulligan or The Rover, the one he's going to be shooting in Australia?

Gozde said...

Well who's the lucky one then Carey Mulligan, landed a role with Rob. Can't wait for this one, Rob as a successful criminal in Chicago. Wow! CM is a brilliant actress, seen her in a couple of films, and her film debut in Pride and Prejudice.  Can't wait for ALL of Rob's projects!

Gozde said...

woooo this movie sounds really good I hope I can see it in the theater it kind of reminds me of the 21st century version of Bonnie and Clyde I don't know why it just does LOL

Gozde said...

Take care Solas I see NYC getting hit hard.

Gozde said...

Hope everyone in H. Sandy's path stays safe, been following it on Sky news and they keep saying it's about to hit.

Gozde said...

I often think the same about her...I never tire of reading her comments, she's been a real gift.  There are more than a few young ones who drop by now and then would could learn a thing or two from her example.

Gozde said...

stay safe too! I live out in California and we get mudslides, and floods but nothing like what is happening out on the east coast!

Gozde said...

Anybody got a copy of EP? I started it but then never got to finish before it came down. If anyone has it, I would appreciate a copy by email pretty please. Let me know and I put up my email temporarily. Thx

Gozde said...

we are in the same boat I never got too Cosmopolis either but it comes out on DVD Jauary 1st 2013 and Rob does not make it easy on us at all because the majority of the flims that he makes are indie I was fortunate enough too see Water For Elephants because it was open nationwide and I saw it 8 times and I was fortunate enough too see Remember Me in the theater but only got too see it twice and he just does not make it easy and I wish(and I have said this before) he would do a movie that can be open nation wide and I'm not talking about Breaking Dawn it does not have too a huge block buster just something that we can see in our home towns

Gozde said...

OMYG, I hope it will be much bigger that the new Great Gatsby.  From the little I read about it, it's been critically panned and a major flop. Did it even get a wide release?

Gozde said...

LMAO!

Gozde said...

I SOOOO agree!!! LOL!

Gozde said...

HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Gozde said...

AMEN too that!

Gozde said...

Gee its great that he'll be acting with Carey, wonder when this will start&who is playing Danni? Does anyone know?
Just watching the news here its 9.30am Sth.Aust. That storm Sandy looks awfully dangerous&wicked stay SAFE everyone concerned in the US.
Thinking of YOU.

Gozde said...

I just hope that I can see it in my theater :D

Gozde said...

I'm not sure even SM's appearance in Twilight would be considered a cameo.  I believe a cameo is when a famous/recognizable actor shows up in a film and may have even have a line or two, then disappears.

Gozde said...

It's wicked!

Gozde said...

Thank you.. so far i'm okay. I'm at my parents home because my apartment was in the mandatory evacuation zone and I'd rather be safe than sorry. To me, mudslides and wild fired in cali scare me a lot worse than wind and rain, but thats just be being ignorant and downplaying what is going on because i still have power lol

Gozde said...

I've been keeping updates on Facebook on what is going on. So far no one seems hurt its just a lot of power outages and the electric company shutting down power for safety reasons. So far most of NYC seems to still have power

Gozde said...

bama? what did i miss in geography? lynyrd skynyrd's sweet home?

Gozde said...

This movie sounds so good!

Gozde said...

O O !! If true Rob is the new face of Christian Dior fragrance.Reading Nik's comment about George Clooney's reason, guess Rob is doing the same thing.
Good for ROb.

Gozde said...

Wyck Godfrey described The Professionals, a project which he was hoping to work on with Rob, as a modern day Bonnie and Clyde too.  I doubt if we'll ever see Rob in that now.....that was about kidnapping too! :-(

Gozde said...

I'm older than her but I learn a lot from her.I'm happy by association :)

Gozde said...

Would that be our boy???

Gozde said...

Me too pretty please!  (Is EP a good FF?) or  can you tell me where to get it?

Gozde said...

I have it dear.  email me and I'll send it to you ... and it is VERY GOOD.  It was my second fan fiction read ... only after MoTU!

Gozde said...

jesse, I have it and my email is in my profile.  let me know and I'll send it your way. =)

Gozde said...

Perfectly said, Mizz!!

Gozde said...

ABSOFREAKINLUTELY!!

Gozde said...

oh good I am so glad you are okay and that was very sweet of you too ask your(elderly)neighbor if she wanted too stay with you at your parents home I hope she is okay as well yeah there are fires here in Cali for sure as well as earthquakes infact we had a 4.2 tremble in central california and October 17th is the 24th anniversary of the 89 earthquake and I swear, hand too god it seems like every year at this time(october) an earthquake happens nothing huge but it seems like every anniversary of the 89 earthquake we always seem to get one wether we want it or not *__*

Gozde said...

Alabama football (college), University of Kentucky basketball (college) ... and I do love Lynyrd Skynyrd ... miss 'ol Billy Powell something fierce!

Gozde said...

Oohh This movie sounds really good!Rob playing a criminal,I'm excited to see this.:)

Gozde said...

the third?  .... hmmmm...I guess I would have to choose the L.A. Clippers.  I'm a fan of Blake Griffin too :P
that wasn't so bad was it?  LOL

Gozde said...

and she is/was good friends with Tom S.....such a small world.  Another example why its important not to burn bridges in that biz, and I think Rob is doing such a great job of networking and widening his circle and connections.  That LACMA event was full of quite a range of actors, producers etc.

Gozde said...

oh wow, what a shocker.....who would have guessed??? LOL
With you on that though!!! ;-)

Gozde said...

Hang in there!  I'm glued to the weather channel....yes, stay away from the windows, Solas!!

Gozde said...

I think he mentioned that supporting roles in an ensemble cast was what he was looking for after BD2, but then he got the part in Cosmopolis.  As always, Rob is doing smart thinking -- or listening to good advice!  Let someone else carry the movie, and we just get to root for our boy!  All of you on East Coast, prayers are with you all!  I think it was 80 degrees in Southern California today!  Sorry....

Gozde said...

I saw that too.
Guess who all the husbands out there are going to be smelling like on Christmas Day???? LOL

Gozde said...

Yea I like my neighbor. I just feel bad for her because she is all alone and I feel that she should probably live in an assisted living home..not because she can't care of herself, but I just think she is lonely. Sitting in an apartment building all day by yourself can't be too fun and she is always too eager to have company. I offered to leave her my cell phone in case she needed to make an emergency call and showed her how to use it, but she just shooed me away lol.

Yea Cali scares me with the earthquakes especially around the bay area. When I was younger I stayed at the Marin Headlands institute for a few weeks during the summer for some sort of school study and I remember feeling my first earthquaked and I freaked. I can't imagine what that must really feel like and to know what the effects of one will be. Natural disasters scare me. Cali (in my opinion) builds homes and buildings that are meant to be earthquake resistant. In NYC a lot of our buildings are old and not really meant to withstand hurricanes. Even in the event of a snow storm there is no place to put the snow! It's such an ill prepared city to live in as far as natural disasters go.

Gozde said...

Jennifer - I can't seem to get into your profile on my iPad and home computer is not available. My email is jessemt@live.com if you wouldn't mind sending it. I really appreciate it. I have MOTU and just finished Dead on my Feet. Thanks so much.

Gozde said...

LOL, I live in the Bay area. We had a "swarm" here a few years ago, basically that meant we were getting 100 mini earthquakes a day for a week or so. Some were so small you couldn't feel them, but a lot of them you could. Let me tell you, feeling multiple earthquakes every day for a week gets old reallllly fast. While you're in bed (think about that one), in the shower, going to the bathroom, eating, sometimes we'll have one & my husband & I will be in different rooms & one of us feels it with rattling furniture, & the other one doesn't even know there was an earthquake. Really strange.

Gozde said...

Don't apologize-- I am always glad to hear when others are having a good and safe time. :-) Yes, I agree about supporting roles and I like for him that he would not have to carry a film; it's just that I had thought of this as supporting and not a cameo. Thanks for the prayers.

Gozde said...

It should be in your inbox jesse =)

Gozde said...

Earthquakes freak me out. Honestly, is there a place in the US thats free of almost all natural disasters apart from snow? I like snow. I can deal with snow. I don't know how people live in the bay area. It's beautiful, but earthquakes freak me out. For the most part the only thing we have to worry about in NYC is snow and flooding and for me snow is like christmas. I see all these pics online of major highway collapses in LA and I just think to myself "who the hell would want to be there?"

Gozde said...

Sorry I miss spelled my address it's jessemtl@live.com. Can u pls resend.

Talking about this role, Lallie.  I think it was Aprat who told me, when his involvement in this movie was announced, about the story, the names of the real people and she mentioned that he was probably gonna wear a leather jacket and riding a motorbike.  Maybe she was just joking around but I hadn't that impression.  I remember I've refered to his famous photoshoot, you know which I mean (with the black motor jacket and the sexy jeans).  She seemed to know more about it.  She also thought that the script wasn't going to follow the real story so literally.  Where is she when you need her?  LOL
The story like it was told on Wikipedia, hardly mentioned Jimmy (if it even did) but focused on Nancy and Danny and the rich man who they held on hostage and how everything went wrong when the man died, burried alive.  That's why I wrote, that unless the script is different from the real story, Rob's part won't be so big, not even for a supporting role.  But who am I apart from someone who likes to guess?  :))

Gozde said...

Vanessa, I replied to Lallie just below, just saying 'cause it might interest you too :)

Gozde said...

check your inbox...the first one went thru and the second one did not.  :)

Gozde said...

Nothing has come thru. The second email is the correct one. I just checked and it is working. jessemtl@live.com. Sorry for the trouble. Appreciate your help. Thx

Gozde said...

I'll try again then. no worries =)

Gozde said...

well i guess she did appear at the wedding too, does saying thanks count as a line? :)

Gozde said...

I think SM's appearances in Twilight and BD1 are exactly cameos, Bwen. Alfred Hitchcock, of course, had a cameo in practically every one of his films, and it's always a game to find him. I think it's just an appearance, with or without a speaking line.

Gozde said...

I think it's great that he takes on roles where he isn't the star. Each film gives him a chance to expand his resume and Rob always learns from each of his directors. From outside of Philly, still have power but storm has been everything they predicted it would be. Have never seen the level of concern  about a storm before. Things have ground to a halt. Keep the folks in the Jersey shore areas in your prayers. They have taken the brunt of this.

Gozde said...

I know, Maria, The Professionals had significant differences, but it, too, is about kidnapping gone wrong, leading to horrible results. Still, I wonder if it will go forward. Was Rob attached to it?

Gozde said...

looking at that photo remind me - i just saw 'shame' with carey mulligan - omg!!!! this should be good

Gozde said...

I'm originally from back East & let me tell you, I HATE snow. With the fiery passion of a thousand suns I hate snow. Could not EVER live in an area that gets snow again, just the thought of black ice makes me want to hurl.

Gozde said...

This should be good. As Random already pointed out, seeing them put Twilight and Cosmopolis together as Rob's calling cards is significant. Hopefully, we'll see more of that in future.

And Carey Mulligan? I have so much respect for her as an actress. She is sublime. Her expression of feeling is masterful. She always adds more than is written. I've seen An Education (brilliant), Drive (fantastic, loved it), and lately Never Let Me Go. The latter was suggested by Leah here. Thanks, Leah. Anyway, that movie was absolutely heart-breaking, probably one of the saddest films I've ever seen. And Carey was superb in it. She has this quality to play emotion dead-on, but then giving even more. It's amazing. And Andrew Garfield was good in it as well.

Anyway, to see Rob playing opposite Carey in a break-up scene--or two?--will be wonderful. I can hardly wait. Another great pairing.

BBeanie -- you rang?  My description was based on versions of the script after it was in development at Paramount. Jimmy was definitely modeled on a James Dean type.  He's a 'leader,' first of the local bikers, and then in the mob. The role wasn't a lot of screen time but very pivotal.  However, the script is undergoing rewrites, and given Rob is now attached, there may be changes.  From the description above it seems they may have 'opened' the story up for more locations so instead of Jimmy returning home, she goes to Chicago...however I don't want to do spoilers, especially as it may change.  I just want the Harley in...lol

Gozde said...

I think her bravest and most open performance was in "Shame."  Although I didn't quite buy her being a NY lounge singer, having heard a few...lol....she was terrific at playing such a wounded character.  Very hard to watch but you can't look away.  It's an extremely depressing film so I don't know if I should 'recommend' it, but if you like films where the characters are the central point, you might find it worth a look.  Ah, caveat -- Fassbender plays a sex addict and there is brief full frontal nudity on or...of his part...I've learned to be a bit more careful about casual recs...lol

Gozde said...

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually forgot to mention Shame, remembered only after I'd made the comment and moved on. Yes, she was mesmerizing in that as well, although, like you, I couldn't see the lounge singer gig for her either. She does 'wounded characters' very well. Shame was not my usual fare, I have to admit, and, although I know Fassbender has been well reviewed for his work in that film, it didn't work for me. But that only means it wasn't my taste. Thanks for adding about the full frontal, such a rare thing for males in films (at least in America).

--singing 'leader of the pack' now... ;-)

The last I heard it was a project that Roby and Wyck were looking into.  Rob had read the book and spoken with Wyck about it.  I don't know how far they had taken it.
I was hopeful as I enjoyed the book :-)

Gozde said...

To date, it's one of my favorite of her performances.. Will have to see Gatsby, though...

Gozde said...

*makes supporting "vroom-vroom" noises in the background.*

Gozde said...

Glad I'm not alone with this. :D MTE. Polar opposites, yet perfectly reflects Rob's interesting project choices and milestones. I'm with you on wondering how he will be credited in a few years. So excited. :)

Gozde said...

:D

Gozde said...

Thanks for the info. That's the one he was looking into with Wyck. I read the book too, and it had potential because of the characters.

Gozde said...

You and @Laylie:disqus  always make me blush with your compliments.  One of the regulars here once said : Just comment what's in your heart, so I guess that's what I only do. You're both so kind to me, I can't thank you both enough. :) Oh, and please take care always!x

Hi Miranda, I live in the Philippines. Just really concerned for the ladies here on the path of the storm because of the news and footages I'm seeing here from where I am. How about you? I can only remember you're from the US,but not the exact place. Are you somewhere near the east coast? Either way,I hope you and your family are safe.

Gozde said...

Just woken up to the pictures and looks like NYC was bad.   Stay safe everyone.

Gozde said...

Been hearing on the news in the UK that a lot of you have lost power down the east coast....as long as you're all safe.

Gozde said...

I think the chemistry will be great Nell. Robs film choices are very eclectic and he's gonna be working with some great actors in his next films, Nyomi Watts, Guy Pearce and Carey Mulligan....I'm well pleased with his choice of film roles.

Gozde said...

Mine is definately going to :-D

Gozde said...

I did get to see RM in the local theater and WFE....actually looking back on it RM was an Indie film and I'm surprised that it was shown around here. I don't have a clue how all this showing-movies-in-theaters works but, it's frustrating as hell when you want to see something you know will be worth seeing and they don't show it near you.
I agree Leah, Rob's choices, even though there good for him certainly doesn't make it easy on those who want to see his films. This one with , CM in it and others that he's got lined up look really interesting I want to support him...but geesh it's a little hard when your local theaters won't show his works. And hell with the DVD's.(I do buy his DVD's) I want to see HIM on the BIG SCREEN first!!!!

Gozde said...

Love your line..."the thought of black ice makes me want to hurl"....had to laugh...I hate black ice too...damn stuff you don't see it until....oooohhh   shiiittt. I know been there done that and wasn't' going fast did a complete 360....not fun!

May 31, 2012  from MTV
Robert Pattinson's Next Movie: A Modern-Day 'Bonnie And Clyde'?
'Twilight' producer says Pattinson would be 'fantastic' in the big-screen adaptation of 'The Professionals.'
"There's a book called "The Professionals," which is a new crime thriller that Rob has read and really likes," Godfrey said of Owen Laukkanen's well-received debut novel. "We're just starting to look at a writer [to adapt it]. It's kind of a 'Bonnie and Clyde' for today, and he would be fantastic in the role. It's in the early days; we'll see."A modern-day version of "Bonnie and Clyde" sounds gritty and violent no matter which way you look at it. We asked Godfrey if he sees this potential big-screen crime thriller as a PG-13- or R-rated film for Pattinson."Possibly R," he said. "[Rob's] an adult now."

Gozde said...

Again...a cast you cannot lose with...this story line is really great.  Can't wait to see him in this role...or any of his roles really!  Just a really exciting actor to watch!

Gozde said...

Gozde said...

Ah, sorry for the redundancy, then, and obviously no need for the caveat. ;-) I think this role, assuming the project gets presales, will be as memorable.

Gozde said...
