Young Fan Asks Twilight Star
Robert Pattinson to 'Bite Me'
Twilight star Robert Pattinson sets pulses racing during promotional appearances – but one young fan wanted a bit more than just a picture.
Pattinson, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the upcoming flick (opening Nov. 21), recalls a fairly unusual request he recently received from a 7-year-old girl.
"She went really quiet and she was like, 'Can you bite me?' " Pattinson, 22, told . "It wasn't a joke ... I looked at her and thought, 'Do you know what you're saying?' "
Pattinson also revealed that he put off auditioning for the high-profile role for five months because the script described the character, created by novelist Stephanie Meyer, as "the ideal, perfect man."
"I felt like an idiot being like, "Hi, I'm here for the ideal man audition," he said.
He eventually landed the role – one that required he develop a six-pack – and now he has tweens shrieking at the sight of him during appearances for the vampire movie.
"It's pretty nuts," he says. "It doesn't seem very real at all. I just go to these different cities and people start screaming."

Thank you Eva for the find.

Is it me or this "Can you bite me?" thing totally ridiculous???
I mean who asks that?! And that too a 7 year old?? I mean he's not a Vampire!! I'm sure he's very convincing in the movie..but that doesn't mean he's going to bite your neck! Why do these people get to meet him??? Where are all the sane fans who appricate him for being the amazing person he is??
Okay enough of my ranting...(it was caused by the whole San Fran incident and that scary youtube video of that girl obsessing over Robert)
Thank you for the article! This blog is the best!
I do happen to think he is quite ideal as a man, however asking him to bite you on the street....creepy!
Asking him to bite you in bed though... that's a whole other story and completly acceptable ;)
Oh yes of course in bed is a whole other story. I would be like "yes please master Robert, whatever you say"
Rusharthi - So true. It's really sad that for the most part the only fans Rob actually meets are the crazy ones with no handle on reality :( I hope he knows that there are also tons of fans that appreciate him for who he is (you know, appreciates ROB, not the fictional character Edward) and who are not total nut jobs.
Dani and Gozde - Did you two ever post Rob's address where we can send letters? After the craziness that has been following him around to all these cities, and especially after this SF disaster, I really want to send him a letter wishing him well and reminding him that he has tons of fans who are actually quite normal and supportive.
I will look that up for you, I think Goz did post that at one time but let me see.

I think this fan thing has totally gotten out of control. I'm scared for Rob. Some of these people don't care what they have to do to get to him...VERY SCARY.
Honestly, from the interviews with Rob, it doesn't seem like he enjoys the screaming at all, but deals with it as part of his job.
Obviously there are decent Rob fans (this site is proof of that!)
but you don't see enough of them.
Poor Rob. I wish I could hug him and protect him...
GREAT - Thanks so much, Dani! I am so going to send him a letter (even though I feel a bit silly doing it) :)
Forevereb - Haha so true. Being bitten by Rob in bed would not only be completely acceptable but absolutely encouraged :)
Don't feel silly, it is a very nice gesture.
Encouraged indeed :-)
I too am going to send Rob some sane-mail. He needs it, the next few weeks are going to be a mad house. Bless him. Poor guy.
Good! More letters to Rob from the sane and supportive fans from this lovely blog is definitely a good thing. We should honestly mention in the letter that if he is ever feeling down and is in need of an ego boost that he should just venture over to this awesome Rob-loving blog, and he will feel instantly better :)
Alright got to take a little break from the blog. E-mail me any new updates Goz is studying hard today for her thesis defense but I have a feeling she will be popping through she just can't stay away for long.

I really hope Rob realizes that he has a lot of fans who are sane. I sent him a very nice, supportive letter a few weeks ago, but with all of the promotion for Twilight that has been going on, I doubt he's had much time to read fanmail. I just hope he gets enough positive feedback from normal people so he doesn't feel the need to go into hiding.
I might be going up to LA next Monday since I'm fairly close to see the redcarpet of the Twilight premier. I'm honestly kind of frightened of the crazy fangirls, but I think it would be worth the temporary loss of hearing to see Rob in person.
AMAZING ACCESS HOLLYWOOD INTERVIEW with Rob :)
