Robert Pattinson talks about censorship in the film industry and the "very dark, funny" 'Map to the Stars'

Robert Pattinson talks about censorship in the film industry and the "very dark, funny" 'Map to the Stars'

A couple of blurbs from Rob that have come out from Cosmopolis promo.

Photobucket

From Film News (UK):
Robert Pattinson is shocked by how censored show business remains. The actor stars in director David Cronenberg’s upcoming move Cosmopolis. In this film Robert’s character is involved in a threesome and shoots himself in the hand with a gun. Robert believes that the movie ratings system is inherently flawed in the age of the internet.

“You’re immediately at the highest rating with things to do with sex. But you can have violence. It’s like, ‘What?!’ It’s completely crazy,” he told British newspaper The Sun. “I don’t think there’s anything in Cosmopolis that’s particularly... there’s nothing bad. I don’t think there’s anything that would have shocked me when I was 13. Especially when every single kid nowadays probably watches hardcore pornography on the internet. It’s no worse – in fact, it’s a lot better.”

Robert isn’t nervous about how audiences will receive the potentially incendiary scenes in Cosmopolis.

“I’m not worried about the violence or the sex or anything like that,” he said. “Transformers is more violent than Cosmopolis.”
From Entertainment Weekly:
It appears that Pattinson and Cronenberg are hoping to pair up once more following their upcoming Cosmopolis. Pattinson confirmed to EW that he’s attached to the director’s long-gestating Maps to the Stars — although he’s not sure when they would begin production. “I don’t know if I’m doing it next,” he says. Cronenberg has stated that he hopes to cast frequent collaborator Viggo Mortensen as well.

The film would be based on a script by novelist and screenwriter Bruce Wagner, who has also written an adaptation of Jonathan Lethem’s novel, As She Climbed Across the Table, for Cronenberg. “It’s about child stars,” says Pattinson of Wagner’s script. “It’s very funny. It’s very, very dark.”
Cosmopolis, which is based on a 2003 Don DeLillo novel, debuted two weeks ago at the Cannes Film Festival.

Kristen Stewart mentions Robert Pattinson to Entertainment Weekly when asked about 50 Shades of Grey

Kristen Stewart mentions Robert Pattinson to Entertainment Weekly when asked about 50 Shades of Grey

Entertainment Weekly was able to snag Fifty Shades Trilogy/Master of the Universe author, E.L. James/Icy, for her first big magazine spread. In the interview (April 6th issue), they contacted Kristen Stewart about the novel to get her comments. She mentioned Rob talking about it!

(My reaction when questioned about Fifty...)
Photobucket

Holy smokes. This is too much to process. LOL I know MANY of you have read MotU. I read it myself when it started in 2009 as a WIP. I'm 99.9% sure you all imagined Rob as Fifty like I did and do with every Ficward so the above mention kinda blows my mind. Are you not dying to know what Rob was saying about Fifty? Did he really read it? Or what else he and Wyck were up to?? I doubt it was just to gossip about Twifanfic making it BIG. I want to know Rob's next project (and I know it isn't Fifty lol). Since Fifty is now mainstream and press knows it's origins, I doubt this is the last we'll hear from Rob on the subject. And hopefully we know soon if there's anything to make of his chat with Wyck. Rob DID hint at something during the Breaking Dawn World Premiere. Click HERE and watch the 4th video.

I only pulled the Rob mention but if you're interested in the whole article, click the thumbnails to read.

Who Did Robert Pattinson Channel While Filming The "Breaking Dawn" Wedding Speech?

Who Did Robert Pattinson Channel While Filming The "Breaking Dawn" Wedding Speech?
The answer might surprise you.

Photobucket

From EW
One of the most anticipated scenes in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1? The long awaited wedding between Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart). And considering how many people went to see the movie in theaters this weekend, plenty of people have now gotten to see the action for themselves. (But for formality’s sake, consider this your official SPOILER ALERT.)

We’ve already told you about why the Iron& Wine song that plays during the ceremony held special significance for some of the cast, but Stewart and Pattinson also tell EW about some of the things audiences didn’t get to see. For example, the moment when Pattinson channeled another actor while filming the speech he gives at the wedding to his new bride. “No one was there really,” he says. “Just a bunch of extras. And for one of the takes, I went into a total Christopher Walken impression. I don’t know why. [Director] Bill [Condon] said, ‘What just happened? Why are you suddenly playing this like Christopher Walken?’ And I just couldn’t get out of it. It’s one of the weirdest things that’s ever happened to me.” He laughs. “I wish it happened more often.”

Another scene, featuring the Denali cousins (important because of their role in Breaking Dawn — Part 2, out November 2012) coming over to congratulate Bella and Edward, apparently didn’t make the final cut. “A little tiny piece of the scene made it into the movie,” explains Stewart. “It was the last thing we shot, at 4 a.m. We did my close-up last, and I was laughing — literally laughing! — just looking at these ladies. All of a sudden it seemed so ridiculous to me, like, who are all these people at my wedding?”

“That scene just went on and on. It felt like forever. I loved it,” laughs Pattinson. “I always like the scenes where Kristen loses it.” A bonus feature for the DVD, perhaps?

Entertainment Weekly & Celebuzz talk to Robert Pattinson at Breaking Dawn Press Conference

So many goodies! Here are some quick bits from two entertainment outlets on the scene for BD Day....are we calling it that? What are we calling this day? This momentous day...

Photobucket

Entertainment Weekly (excerpt)

So how’s it feel to get your hand and foot prints immortalized forever at the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theater in the heart of Hollywood? “Not only was I wearing shoes too big for me, but I put my hands in the wrong place so I’m going to have the most stupid-looking prints,” Robert Pattinson told EW shortly after the ceremony this morning. “It’s going to look like a yeti.” (Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner pointed out that Pattinson’s feet were askew as well.)

Photobucket

Celebuzz (excerpt)

After the four year Bella and Edward rollarcoaster, it might be nice to see them in a different genre together, right? Here was what they had to say about the idea:

“I would die to work with [Rob] again,” Kristen said when we threw out the rom-com idea. “I totally would.”

...

Rob is game too:

“I would love to,” Pattinson told Celebuzz when asked if he would be up for a romantic comedy with Kristen. “Definitely I would work with her again [outside of Twilight].”

Don’t get ahead of yourselves though, nothing is in the works as has been reported.

Entertainment Weekly cover with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: Mysteries revealed?

Entertainment Weekly cover with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: Mysteries revealed?

This cover is puzzling. Let's not fake the funk. While Rob is always fabulous, it's a bit perplexing why he's so scandalized on the cover (thanks for the perfect word to describe the look, Marina). And why is Kristen's expression so different. How is the vampire looking scared and the human showing...defiance and smolder in her eyes? Speaking of eyes, we all know that Edward does not have blue-grey eyes and Bella does not have green eyes.

Cover = bewilderment.

Photobucket

Jack Morrissey, director Bill Condon's better half, continues his attempt to ease fandom bewilderment on twitter. When asked by fans ( ) if Bill knew his 2 leads were missing the scorching, blazing, golden, honey, tawny, ocher eyes and the deep, liquid, melted chocolate brown eyes, responded: Yes, he does. That's a rehearsal.

Oooooooooh! .......hm. Well what about those looks? I remember Breaking Dawn and unless this is a fanfic rendition, who popped up around the waterfall to cause such expressions?

asked: Was the rehearsal not going well? They look so unhappy for romping in a waterfall on their honeymoon.

LOL right? Who did Edward hear lurking in the bushes? Was it the paparazzi that took the sneaky pics? Or a rabid fan clinging to a palm tree in hopes of seeing some sparkle?

Jack responds: They're in character and yeah there's a drama between them being played out in this moment.

Photobucket

Yeah....still bewildered. ;)

Can't wait for all to be revealed on Robvember 18th!

Update: In the meantime....why don't we make this a "caption this" post and you guys "like" the best ones? We've got one to kick us off LOL
