NEW Robert Pattinson Interview from CINEMANIA Magazine (Mexico)

It's an interview from Cannes so it's new/old but this will remind you why you are ROBsessed. This is why we fell in love with Robert Pattinson :) It's long but SO worth the read! Thank you Vale from TwilightPoison for translating it! It must have taken hours :)

Thanks to TwilightPoison for the scans and the following translation:

It couldn’t be any other way: seductive stare, pale skin, innocent little smile, ethereal attitude, all make them seem like he’s not from this planet, or this time at least. It’s not so hard to imagine why he’s a vampire that can make anyone fall in love with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s kind, he has a great sense of humour and he likes to laugh at himself. Plus, he has nice style: tight black pants, white shirt with black stripes. It’s not strange to see why there’s hundreds of girls waiting for him outside our tent in Cannes film festival. Some of them are screaming from a terrace, screaming as though they could lose their lives without an actor’s smile or autograph.
But Pattinsson is completely unaware of it, on the contrary, he jokes about the suggestion of being a sex symbol. We start our interview with the distant cooing of longing fans, and with the certainty that a real star is being born.

“Mmmm… I can’t say anything about New Moon yet, I was asked to keep the expectations high, but I can give you a few details, is that ok?”, he says as soon as we sit down. “The place is rather peculiar, isn’t it?”, he jokes as he pulls the chair in which he will sit: a kind of throne that creates the mood for a very minimalistic and sophisticated place, and even though he looks very tired, since he hasn’t stopped giving interviews and attending red carpets of the French festival, he makes an effort to not show it and he gets excited when we start to talks after agreeing to his deal.

“I can say that the weirdest scene we shot was shot at a High School in Canada. When we got there, there were still plenty of students taking class, and I had to be floating around the place. It was weird, because the scene was very complicated. There was a feeling that I can’t really describe yet (laughs). I think, in general, this sequel will be much more complex, deeper and it will make my character have another dimension..” he assured us.

But there won’t only be transformations in this sequel, Pattinson himself has experienced a change in the way he approaches this territory. “When we were filming Twilight, I used to say that it made me nervous being around so many people of the crew. However, it was weird how this feeling changed in New Moon. It maybe has to do with getting used to what it means being on such a large set, and, in general, a super production. I was surprised at how relaxed I was the entire time, honestly. Which is not a normal thing for me. I felt very confident for the first time, I really understood the sense of the movie, where Chris wanted to take it and what we wanted to tell, the emotions, the mood, everything behind Edward.

“I learned a lot in Twilight, and I never realized until I came back for the sequel. That’s when I discovered the new tools I had acquired. For instance, the things that worried me the most were no longer important. You lose the fear of messing up, you learn to try new techniques, and that’s great. You earn new confidence as an actor, and more freedom as well. I hope this is a process that never stops.

“Now I understand why, with years, better roles come to you. You need a lot of experience to capture emotions with the camera and make the filming yours. But I think I’m on the right path. There’s still a lot for me to learn, though…”, he says.

Robert Pattinson on Tabloid Marriage & The Kristen Pregnancy Rumors

Here are 12 quotes Robert Pattinson gave to Seventeen.com .

Remembering His Lines

"Whenever I do a job I'm really kind of learning how to act from scratch again, [especially] when I haven't done it for a year. I've kind of forgotten how to do it!"

Taking the Backseat in New Moon

"It's just so nice being in a supporting role. There was so much pressure on Taylor for this one, and it's like, he didn't have a single bad day the entire shoot. I just stroll onto set, I'm like, 'Oh, I've got one line!'"

His Take on Edward
"I kind of just tried to make him a little bit more aware of the irony of the situation…a 109-year-old who's in love with a 17-year-old who he's pretending to go to school with."

Tabloid Marriage & The Kristen Pregnancy Rumors

"Literally, that would be terrifying if I suddenly — well, actually, it wouldn't be terrifying, it would be quite satisfying, actually, to be able to get someone pregnant from across the country. With a text message!" (Gozde: Rob is obviously not aware that he can actually get a woman pregnant with a stare ;))

Why He's Disgusted with Himself

"Because sometimes I look at myself in the mirror [Laughs] — I think anyone would be." (Gozde: Yeah, sure. I can see that...not...)

And the Signature Hair Secret Is...

"I just use water. No one ever believes me, but it's true."

Getting Deep with Kristen
"Kristen's a really great actress. I really like working with her, and she's very intense about things, and she'll go just as far as anyone else will want to go with it. If you want to go as deep as possible, into any form of material, she's more than willing to go there." (Gozde: Mind...in the...gutter... :))

Under the Microscope
"It's funny what you really see when you're the subject of the completely bizarre gossip magazine industry. It's just like, 'WHAT?!?' All this stuff with Emilie [de Ravin, his costar in Remember Me] as well. The tabloids say stuff like 'They went on a date to an Indian restaurant.' We were doing a scene! There's a film crew there!"

Doing Interviews
"I don't find myself that interesting as a human being, so I don't really think that much of what I say or do warrants being recorded." (Gozde: Rob here is a grip, get it :) We love everyword you say)

Where He's Going Next…
"I might go to some tiny little town in Idaho with, like, three people living there." (Gozde: Believe me those 3 people will know you. You should follow my suggestion HERE. Remote island :))

Why He Shaved His Head

"I'd just done with the GQ shoot, and I got it cut after that, on the shoot, and I just thought, Well, I've just done a GQ cover, I might as well get my hair cut."

Nikki about Robert Pattinson

First Impressions
"The first time I met Jackson [Rathbone] was on the flight to Portland, and he had his guitar and his glasses, and I was thinking to myself, Oh boy, another introverted musician/actor. [Laughs] And I don't really know what I thought of Rob. My opinion of Rob has always sort of been the same. He's a great guy, he's really talented, [but] we're not as close as the rest of the cast."

Setting the Record Straight
"I can't win, even if I say something relatively bland. A few weeks ago I was at this event, and they said, 'You missed Rob's birthday, how do you feel?' And I said, 'I called him, it's fine.' And they wrote, 'She's clearly bitter over the breakup.' I'm like, what breakup? Rob and I were never together. (Gozde: Nikki, people will believe whatever they want to believe. Even I learned that and I only run a blog. When I publish something people believe I'm golden when it's the opposite of what they believe I'm a fat, delusional liar who needs to get a life :))

Ashley Green about Robert Pattinson

First Impressions
"When I met Rob, he literally didn't make any impression on me. He's quiet, he's not very outgoing, he wasn't like, 'Hey! What's up? I'm Rob!' So with Catherine, she was basically like, 'So, that's Rob.' And I was like, 'Oh, cool.' And it's just so funny now looking at it, because every girl swoons over him."

Kellan Lutz Robert Pattinson

If the Entire Cast Did Get in a Fight...
"I'd beat everyone, even Taylor, no doubt. If they all tried to jump me, they might have a chance. Rob can slap pretty hard though."

Thanks to Laura for the tip :)

Robert Pattinson Tweets and The World Stands Still

Or rather Robert Pattinson tweets and the fandom shakes :)

It did confirm 1 thing for sure : Robert Pattinson DOES NOT HAVE TWITTER...

Thanks to RobsButtonsBabe for making the manip. It's very sweet :)

And since the "fan ractions" I posted seemed one sided last night (the reactions on twitter were %90 this way at the time) here are some other reactions :

pswlrw: I thought it was adorkably Rob, I thought it was lovely of Peter to make it happen.

Emily: I'm confused as to what people were expecting. I thought it was funny. "My dad made me do it."

rpattz-turns-me-on : Go Rob!! Love Ya. Omg iam so happy he tweeted, thank you peter :-) so happy right now.

Sadrilil: I actually loved it. Real or Fake I think PFach is a trustable guy and lets face it Rob is not a twitter kind of person otherwise he would have an account.. I love that he was what seems to be himself and blames "his dad" for making him do it.

Anna F: I don't see what's lame about that tweet, and I'm disappointed by all those negative reactions. Rob has always been quite random, and this tweet sort of represents his "what the hell can I say?" attitude very well, but in a sweet and funny way.I prefer that to some "thank you to all my fans for their support" or whatever of the kind.

Confessor: I thought it was kind of cute. I remember thinking that twitter was kind of lame (before my addiction to it) and that's about what I would have typed if someone made me do it.

sarabooluvsU: I think Rob's tweet was absolutly adorable and we all know that he doesnt like twitter so we are lucky he did it anyway! A true Rob fan would be happy with simply a "hi" from rob. So really guys, back off and be happy, I know I am :) (Gozde: Most of the "positive" reactions were in this line.I guess I'm not a true fan :) Is there a certification program? I'd like to attend :))

And thanks to ADM for expressing what I couldn't: I do not think anyone is pissed by the tweet. I think everyone is confused by their own reaction. No one knew what to expect. It was short and cute. But, not what most thought it would be. Since no one knew what that would be in the first place.

Gozde: After sleeping on it, it IS very Rob like to tweet something like that. I'm gonna go with "shock" and "my Mediterranean blood" for my reaction. Moving on now :)

About Last Night: Brian & Dana Meet Robert Pattinson

I have officially lost the last shred of sanity I had with this photo.
Oh Hot Damn? Nope, not enough!
...Sigh...

Brian with Rob

Dana with Rob

As a New Yorker, I've been privy to meet many celebrities, and not once have I seen a situation like this where photos are taken from Twitter and such speculation is rampant. However, I've also never met an actor or musician with a fan-base with such a dedicated and insatiable hunger for information regarding their idol. Since the information being spread is pretty much all incorrect. I felt it was right to set it straight, because over the past few months my friend has been working on the tips and stories and sightings of other people in hopes of meeting Rob.

Last night, my friend and I who go to school in Long Island City were on our way home and decided to take a detour and pass by XXX where indoor principal photography for Remember Me is taking place and saw that a small crowd was gathered. We figured if there were people waiting there might be a possibility in finally getting to meet Rob. We had tried when they first started filming and were present on the now infamous day when that girl decided to force Rob to give her a piggy back ride. We waited with the group for about an hour and a half when finally Robert came out and we called him over. He hesitated and looked as though he was going to come over, but sadly he did not. Now, this is where the story might've ended if not for some good luck.

My friend Dana and I were held up, because another production vehicle stopped in the street to prevent people from being able to follow Rob's car, an action that seems unprecedented but some people at the set were more than ready to do so. When we finally got moving again, we saw the other two girls we had been waiting with and decided to stop and talk to them and say good night During the traffic jam, they had received some information from an onset source who we will keep unnamed to protect their job, about an outdoor shoot that was taking place that night a few blocks away by the XXX. We followed the tip over to XXX Street and saw a truck with a camera on the back, a few dozen crew members and in the middle of it all was Rob, riding a bike. The scene was pretty simple, just Rob riding a bike up and down the street. During the shoot he rode up and down a total of five times before they wrapped. After he shook hands and loosened his tie, he was heading to his car so we called Robert over.

And, he came right over to us, even before he confirmed what he was doing with his security guards. My friend Dana and I were among the first to get our photos with him, and besides being very sweaty and out of breath from his bike ride in the 87 degree heat, Robert was very friendly but was also a little reserved. My friend Dana's photo did not come out the first time, and when Rob granted her a second take, an overzealous fan jumped into the photo causing my friend to say "get the f#@$ out of my photo". To which Robert laughed and replied "good one". He then graciously granted her a third take, and the photo came out wonderful. I do not want to speak for everyone, but as far as I could tell the twelve or so people who had come across the set were lucky enough to get their photos with Rob before he excused himself to move to the next set and finish for the night. I do not want to come off as preachy, but while we waited we kept quiet and listened to the requests of the production staff and when Rob did wrap and we called to him, we did so calmly. When he came across the street, with the exception of the overzealous fan who jumped into my friend's photo, everyone kept calm and although he did not say Rob seemed to appreciate the fact that we did so. I think he showed his appreciation for our patience in waiting, and our calmness while dealing with him by allowing all of us the opportunity of meeting him. So if you are in a situation where you come across Robert, exercise restraint and remain clam and it should pay off.

Gozde: Thanks to Brian and Dana for sharing their story and pictures with us. Filming locations blocked for security. Don't hate me :)
