EXCLUSIVE: BREAKING NEWS ABOUT “BREAKING DAWN”

EXCLUSIVE:

There have been lots of questions about “Breaking Dawn,” including when will production start, where will it be shot, who will be cast as the daughter of Robert Pattinson’s Edward and Kristen Stewart’s Bella, and who will direct the fourth “Twilight” film?

With all the enthusiasm for the release of “New Moon” — just a little more than a month away — as well as the tremendous interest in the filming of “Eclipse,” “Breaking Dawn” should seem a no-brainer.

However, despite reports that “Breaking Dawn” has been greenlit and production will begin in September 2010, Gossip Cop can report exclusively that, as of now, nothing is official.

A rep for Summit tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “The film has not been greenlit – and thus no decisions about the film’s shooting location, start date, the director, etc… have been made.”

We (Robsessed) will post any more updates on 'Breaking Dawn' news as we see it come out.

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Official Production & Casting Updates

It’s official! (Kate: The source for this is the one who said "Breaking Dawn" was going to be made into two movies. So when he says "official!" we take it with a grain of salt.) “THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN” production has been green lit and I now have the latest information. The fourth saga in the Twilight Series is going back to it’s roots and will be filmed back in Portland, OR. Principal photography will not begin until September, 2010

Striking the Balance: Terror, Desire & Robert Pattinson

D. MacDowell Blue penned a great article about Robert Pattinson and his place in the vampire movie's genre. It is a GREAT read. Thanks to RobPattzNews for finding it :)

When a sound version of Dracula finally made it to celluloid, the first such movie to feature a real (as opposed to pretend) vampire, a choice faced the filmmakers. How to portray the vampire? Taking their cue from the Balderston-Dean play, they decided the title character would ooze sinister charm—an archetype that owes far more to Polidori’s much-earlier work The Vampire than to Bram Stoker’s novel. Actors considered for the lead included Lon Chaney (ironically enough, the great silent star died of throat cancer first) Conrad Veidt and Frederick March, but in the end the role went to tall, thin and suave Bela Lugosi.

Flash forward seven decades or so. Another major studio prepares to adapt another vampire novel to the screen. Herein the choice is more subtle. The male lead in Stephanie Meyers’ Twilight is written as handsome, gallant (if moody) and highly ethical.
A more pressing question is that of casting. Who shall play Edward? Fan favorites included Orlando Bloom, Tom Wellin and Hayden Christensen. But in the end the role went to Robert Pattinson—up until then best known for portraying the doomed nice guy Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Initially (and this is sometimes hard to credit now) fans reacted badly to the news. They soon changed their minds for the most part, especially once the teasers and trailers began showing. One might even call this evidence that sometimes professional casting directors and filmmakers actually do know more about how to do their jobs than the average moviegoer (although there remains a die-hard group of fans who still reject Pattinson in the role).

Robert Pattinson: Interview With A Vampire

From the Sydney Morning Herald:

Ask Robert Pattinson how he's handling the global hysteria that now surrounds him and he says: "All right, I hope." Then he runs his hand through that tousled mop of his (a sign that he's anxious) and adds: "It's still sort of new."

It's almost 12 months since the first Twilight film was unleashed on the world. Twelve months since we clapped eyes on the sensitive, tortured and fiercely handsome vampire named Edward Cullen from Stephenie Meyer's massively popular novels. Twelve months since Pattinson, the 23-year-old British actor who plays the red-blooded teenage vamp, became an international heart-throb.

One minute he has a bit part in two Harry Potter films (he played Cedric Diggory in The Goblet of Fire and The Order of the Phoenix). The next he's the object of every teenage girl's affections. They're screaming right now outside his hotel room. He's in France to promote The Twilight Saga: New Moon , the follow-up to Twilight (there are four novels in all). Whenever he goes near the window to smoke, a crescendo of noise erupts from the street below.

"To be honest, I still don't really understand what's going on," he says. "Like yesterday, I was having lunch down the road. We were in this place for a couple of hours and suddenly there was like 400 people outside on the street. It was just so nuts and it's like that all the time now."

If Pattinson hasn't come to grips with the global hysteria by now, how will he cope when New Moon is released next month?

"When the second one comes out, then I'll see how I am. Mostly I can ignore things to quite a big extent and kind of pretend they're not really happening," he says, sounding eerily calm.

"I just don't take any of it seriously. It's just a job and while it's a job I love, girls scream out for Edward, not Robert. I still can't get a date."

Kristen Stewart Talks to InStyle About The "Robert Pattinson Affair" Rumors

Keely scanned and translated the October 2009 Issue of InStyle Germany for us. It's on stands now, go and buy your copy :)

We contacted the author of the article, Andreas Renner to learn when this interview was conducted. He told us he talked to Kristen in July at Comic Con and in Los Angeles...

We are just posting the article, don't shoot us, the messenger :)

HQ Scans:

The rumors persist that you have an affair with your twilight castmate Robert Pattinson.

We get on well and became great friends while shooting. But beside Robert I found other new friends on the Twilight-Set, too. A lot of people don´t understand, that women and men actually can be just friends, without concerning a sexual connection.

There is nothing more about Rob in the interview but you can read the whole thing after the cut to learn more about Kristen. It is a great read.

Thanks Keely! :)
