SWEET LOVIN' HE IS LOVELY LOOKING!

Rob talks about the DVD extras

Thanks AJ for the lnik :-)

Can you talk about any scenes you shot that won’t be in the theatrical cut of Twilight, but that we might later see on the DVD?
There’s quite a lot of stuff. We fought the big fight scene at the end within the first week, and I was really convinced that, the way I established the character arc, that Edward needed to be 100 percent demonic in the last fight. The “monster,” which he always says he is to Bella, I wanted him to become that at the end. I kind of psyched myself up a week to do this nuts fight. As soon as I started doing it I don’t think anyone expected me to do it like that, so they were like “Uh, tone it down.” I had maybe 13 takes where my direction was “tone it down” on every single take. I had no idea what was going on. I would love to see what the first take was, especially after seeing the final thing, with one bit of a fight with me and Cam – where we were growling at each other where we both really into it, like we were vampires. When we watched the playback afterwards, there was a big bright light, and we didn’t realize…we thought it was kind of dark and you could just see these two guys, one with a bouffant haircut and the other with his abs just there like “Aaaaaargh!” [Laughs.] It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I hope that’s on the DVD, it’s quite funny.

Premiere.com Interview

Repeat with the picture BECAUSE I LOVE IT!

Just days before Twilight pandemonium is unleashed at a theater near you, Robert Pattinson, who plays the dreamy vampire Edward in the film adaptation of the Stephenie Meyer bestseller, still manages to work the mellow Brit vibe. We caught up with the actor during a quiet moment on the whirlwind promo jaunt for the movie, which hits theaters Nov. 21, to chat about his music, those adoring (if bold) Twilighters, and being one of Perez's boys.

I've been hearing about the fans just going crazy at the promo events for Twilight. You're bearing the brunt of it, huh?
It's been fun. It's weird, I get to a city and I always get told there was a riot earlier on. By the time I get there, it's always quieted down a bit. But it is pretty nuts. I thought it might happen in one city, but it's happening everywhere, in every single city we go to, around the world. It's pretty crazy.

What's the weirdest thing that's happened so far?
Well, this was in New York, at the Apple store. This really, really young girl came up on stage, and she asked me to bite her, but like in such a passionate way — it wasn't really fun and games, "Hey, will you bite me, haha, joking!" She'd made up her mind, she got on the stage, and she wanted it. Like a real vampire bite.

So did you bite her?
Yeah, I did!

You did?
No, I didn't, really. Of course not. But it was really funny. It's just so strange how I go to these events and a lot of the people who are there are just completely convinced that I'm Edward. I'm really the character from the book, there is no Robert Pattinson. It's so funny. And they react in that way, not as if I'm just an actor.

Do you get stalked when you're just walking down the street on your own? Do people recognize you?

I don't even know. I mean, I haven't really done anything normal for ages now. God, it's been so long since I've even just walked down the street by myself. Actually, in New York, it didn't really happen. I went off on my own a bit. But it's really strange just being in airports and there are people there waiting for you to get off the plane with their cameras, and you're just exhausted. It's so weird. That's the biggest change I've noticed.

Have you seen the movie yet?
I haven't. I don't really watch my stuff at all, so I don't think I will end up seeing it. Well, maybe I will. I think I'll end up seeing it at the premiere, but I really don't like watching myself on screen.

Did you guys use a lot of CGI in the infamous sparkling Edward scene?
As usual, in Oregon, there were incredibly unpredictable, bizarre weather conditions. There was no sunlight that day, as usual, and of course, we needed this big ray of sunlight, so we used a huge light and I turned around into it. There was no make-up or anything on the day. We had tried to do it with make-up, but it just didn't work so we had to do it with special effects. It was done by George Lucas' company, Industrial Light & Magic, and apparently it looks pretty cool but I haven't seen it yet. But the people at the junket said it looks pretty amazing.

What's going on with New Moon?
I think the script's done already, they just need to greenlight it. But I think it all depends on how well Twilight does, whether it's shot or not.

I read somewhere that Catherine Hardwicke, the director, estimated it needs to earn $150 million.

Oh wow! I don't think it's that much! Is it? We've got our work cut out for us then. But I think there's a lot more CGI needed in the second one, so I think it is a significant amount of money. The second book was my favorite book, so I'm quite looking forward to working on it.

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. - November 13, 2008 (WPVI) -- The star of the movie Twilight took a bite out of King of Prussia.

Teens and tweens were screaming about one thing Thursday in King of Prussia, or one man, more specifically, Robert Pattinson.

Pattinson is the star of the best selling book series turned movie, Twilight, a modern day love story between a human and a vampire.

The big screen heartthrob, who also starred in one of the Harry Potter Movies, signed autographs for almost two hours, but fans started lining up to see Pattinson just before midnight.

Fans only got about 15 seconds with the star, but they said it was worth it.

"When I first saw him, I was taken back, his hair, he's just lovely, but I got what i wanted to say---i told him he is an inspiration," Daria Rose of Broomall said.

"He was awesome, he was so sweet, he looks you right in the face, he's so sweet, it's amazing," Diana Enes of Riverside said.

The actor, himself, was taken back, too.

"Here was nuts, generally just really speechless people, here it's like one in three people weeping. So it was crazy," Pattinson said.

Twilight opens Friday November 21.

Melissa Rosenberg on Rob

LA Times Twilight Countdown talked to Melissa and here is what she said about Rob.

Which actor came closest to the character as you envisioned while writing the script?

Billy Burke I thought was just incredible. I wasn't sure at first, because I didn't really have an actor in mind while I was writing Charlie, but he so beautifully embodied that relationship with Bella. He's one that really stands out for me. I was also delighted by Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper. He doesn't have a ton of dialogue or screen time, but he just pops. I don't know what it is exactly; he's just got this spark. And Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were also both spot-on.

That’s interesting. Both Robert and Stephenie have said they didn’t see eye to eye on Edward initially.

Yes, that's true. But I liked what Robert did. The tone of my original script was off. It had more humor and he brought it to a more sober place, which winds up being really great and dramatic for the film. He's very elegant in a way. You can see him as this guy who's been around for 100 years; he brings that history with him. It's almost as though he's from a different time. It's really effective.

New Article-Vancouver Sun

Twilight star Robert Pattinson stumbles, sucks blood, stumbles again.

Here is an excerpt from the article:

But Pattinson isn't behaving like a ruined being today. He figures that had he been a fan, he would have had the same reaction to such casting.

"I was embarrassed even going into the audition," he remembers. "You look at the synopsis. Edward is the perfect man. He has an impeccable face and body. Everything about him is amazing."

Could Pattinson live up to that image? Not by a long shot. "It was just so stupid." As for the roasting he received on the Internet: "I was happy when it was a 100-per-cent negative reaction. I was like - thank you." When he was attacked as "a bum" by one irate fan, he said to himself: "Cool! I'm going to be a character actor instead."

Now, of course, there's a been huge sea change. Pattinson has become hot stuff.
By all accounts, he wasn't the most compliant of actors during filming.

There were disagreements over how he should approach his character, some of them triggered by his desire to play Edward like a manic-depressive: as he suggested recently to Entertainment Weekly, this seemed like a perfectly sound approach, given that Pattinson is coping with the "purgatory" of being a vampire. But at the end, he seems to have emerged serenely from both the highs and the lows.

He had no trouble assuming an American accent. "It wasn't very difficult. I grew up watching American movies. All my favourite actors are American. So it was osmosis."

But he had a lot of trouble with the script's physical demands - not just a brutal fight scene with a predatory vampire but something as mundane as a family baseball game played vampire style.
"I'm completely unco-ordinated," he confesses. "I'm terrible at all sports."

In fact he considers them pointless. "Catherine was determined to make me look like a professional baseball player, and literally I couldn't take it seriously."

It seemed that whenever he was involved in stunt work, he suffered an injury.
"My hand-eye co-ordination is bad. But I have a good stunt double. He is a professional free runner. I can do something and get injured and look like crap playing it, or he can do it and make it look really good and no one notices the difference."

After walking into one too many doors, he gave up. "I managed to pick up so many injuries whenever I tried the simplest of stunts." In one scene where he was supposed to pick up Kristen Stewart in his arms, he broke a hamstring - and "that isn't even a stunt."

Chigaco Q&A Moderators Blog about Rob

I can't believe a fan yelled "take off your pants".
Ladies it is one thing to think it, and another to actually scream it aloud right in front of him.
Can we say creepy?

We were granted a small amount of one-on-one time with Rob Pattinson. That interview is streaming all over this website if you haven't seen it yet. Judging from the 20 minutes or so I spent with Rob, he seems like a pretty normal guy. When I told him I hardly had an idea who he was a few months ago, he laughed and said he didn't blame me. He's as taken aback by this outpouring of love as the rest of the world seems to be. The movie hasn't even opened yet and he thinks this will all be over in a few weeks. Rob - wait until they see you on the big screen, and remind me never to take you to the mall with me.

So then came the question and answer, better known by it's technical term - the time Rob and I stood on a stage and were screamed at for 10 minutes. Rob gave me a laugh when I told him I had questions from the audience ready. Good luck hearing yourself think after we step onto that stage, he told me. When we walked onto the riser, amid hundreds of flashing bulbs and a pulsing roar from the crowd, he kept looking at me and shaking his head. Every city he's been to it's been the same reaction. I think he's looking for the town where 10 people show up, and he'll probably move there.

"Take off your pants," one girl yelled from the crowd.
"Did you just ask me to take off my trousers?" Rob answered. Perplexed by the term "trousers", the crowd moved on to more screaming. Overall the Q&A lasted about 10 minutes. He mentioned that his favorite musical artist was Van Morrison, he refused to sing (he has a song on the soundtrack), and he said that he was signed for at least 3 movies.
We wrapped up the Q&A as objects began flying on stage. By objects, I mean little handwritten notes folded up like mini-footballs, most with names and phone numbers written on them. Note to fans - from a long distance on the upper deck, a harmless toss of a mini-football turns into a dangerous Chinese star flying through the air. I know you love the guy, but try not to take one of his glorious eyes out.

Overall it was an amazing experience. So much energy packed in one little space. I talked with a ton of fans about their obsession, and I'm cutting that video together as we speak. It'll be up on the site later this evening. Hopefully the ringing in my ears be gone by then!

Dark Horizons.com Interview- Really good one!

This is an amazing interview, if you have a chance read the entire thing. Rob impresses me more each day with his honesty and charm. This one is a winner, or a prize...maybe both.

British actor Robert Pattinson had no idea what he was letting himself in for when he auditioned for, and won the plum role, of brooding vampire Edward Cullen, in the much anticipated film version of the best selling novel "Twilight".
Though he had exposure, to some extent, with big movies such as "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", nothing, it seems has prepared him for the fame and adulation of "Twilight", fame that has brought him to tears, as he confided to Paul Fischer.

Question: So, are you particularly prepared for the teenage female frenzy that is going to surround this movie, but you in particular? Which apparently seems to be in the cards.
Pattinson: I don’t know. I mean, I don’t know why it still shocks me. I mean, I’ve been going for the last three weeks, just going to different cities all around the world, just to get to these planned mobbing, where everybody just screams and screams and screams. But every single time, I get so nervous, and kind of cold sweats, and everything. So I doubt that I am ready.
Question: So that’s how you react to the screams and the frenzy?
Pattinson: Every single time. I started crying in Italy. Like, completely involuntarily. Question: Really?
Pattinson: Yeah. Like, do you know when you have the wrong reaction to something? It was really embarrassing. I didn’t even know I was. Kristen, I think, turned around to me. And she’s like, “Are you crying?” I just found out there’s a whole pile of stuff. So. Yeah. I started crying when people are screaming at me. I really didn’t think that would happen.
Question: Conversely, did you pay any attention to any of the on-line complaining? “Oh, he’s not right. It should have been this person or that person.” Did you pay any attention to that?
Pattinson: I did at the beginning, for a little bit. I was expecting it, but I kind of – I agree with them.
Question: Why?
Pattinson: I don’t know. I completely expected it. That’s the reason I didn’t want to go in for the part initially, because it’s really putting yourself out there. You say, like, “Oh, yeah. I think I can play this part, the perfect guy. Best-looking guy in the whole world.” It was like – even going in for the audition, I felt like a bit of an idiot going into the audition. I felt pre-judged by anyone who turned up to the casting. It’s like – I mean, I just thought even having the gall to go in means you’re a bit of an arrogant prick.

This is a long interview too much to post all of it so go HERE to the source and read the rest.
Amy thanks for the link too..great minds do think alike.
