Twilight star Robert Pattinson has skyrocketed to international stardom, thanks to the vampire romance's runaway box office, but he's still just a regular guy at heart.
"I miss being able to go for a walk," Pattinson, 22, told Sweden's Frida magazine in a new interview. "I miss the smell of London...I almost cried because I missed it so much. And I miss my dog [Patty]," he says.
While the handsome 6'1" British hunk lives in Los Angeles these days for professional reasons, his setup there is surprisingly makeshift.
"I haven’t moved [to L.A.] for good," says Pattinson. "I live in a rented apartment where all of the furniture is rented."
Meanwhile, Rob—who recently dropped out of the indie flick Parts Per Billion—is busy with pre-production on New Moon, the highly anticipated sequel to Twilight.
Pattinson will begin shooting New Moon in Vancouver in March. The sequel will be filmed back-to-back with Eclipse (2010), the third installment in the best-selling Twilight book series.
Twilight, which has raked in a staggering $279 million worldwide since its Nov. 21 U.S. release, will keep Rob super-busy until at least 2010. The hectic activity will leave the single Rob little time for dating.
As it is, Pattinson, who has described himself as a loner, likes to keep his personal life quiet—and private. "There’s just a few persons who are worth your time," says Rob.
"Plus, I’m always moving around and that’s a problem," he adds. "I would rather stay at home doing some creative than [go out] just to talk some crap."
New Moon hits theaters in November 2009.

Very soon, at a Hot Topic near you, you'll be able to get your hands on the brooding "Twilight" hero, in action-figure form, at least.
The Edward Cullen figure — currently up for preorder on Hot Topic's Web site — retails for $16.99, sports "beautiful articulation with movable limbs" <----THIS PART SCARES ME! and is decked out in a blue button-down shirt, jeans and a gray peacoat. It's 11.5 inches tall and comes packaged with an exclusive Cullen family crest and is also apparently "imported," though we're not exactly sure from where.
According to Hot Topic, the preorder runs until January 13, and the Cullen figures will be delivered on or around January 20.

Right now Robert Pattinson is the most powerful person in Hollywood. Don't believe me? Just Google his name and look at the amount of press the young hunk has received in the last month. Pattinson is so adored right now by a worldwide audience, that even news of him getting a haircut threw the online world into a spastic tizzy.
Just how big is Robert Pattinson?
If Robert Pattinson were a stock, he'd be selling for $900 a share.
If Robert Pattinson were a government, he could single handedly bail out the world economy.
If Robert Pattinson were the police, there'd be no crime in the world.
I could go on, but I'm sure you get the point. Pattinson is hot and he's in demand. Despite his relatively newfound success, the Brit knows what his position is, and he's playing his cards right, carefully plotting his next move.
Right now, speculation exists that says Pattinson is on the short list to appear in the sequel to Hairspray, a film made famous by Zac Efron. (Dani's note-please God make it not be true!) Pattinson just dropped out of independent movie Parts per Billion, because he needs to film the sequel to Twilight, New Moon.
I'm sure he didn't mean to offend the folks behind Parts, but there's billions of dollars at stake in a world that desperately needs big winners. If anyone can save Hollywood from the global recession, it's Robert Pattinson.
Don't forget, Robert is also a double threat, a man with musical ability, who is ready willing and able to fall back on that career if anything were to happen to his film career.
"Music is my backup plan if acting fails. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket," he told the LA Times.
This guy is prepared for whatever the world throws at him.

The mystery of the short haired shoot is solved!
According to the Little Ashes Promotional Blitz site Rob is going to be on the cover of GQ magazine April 2009 Issue to coincide with the release of 'Little Ashes'. Be on the lookout for the issue mid-March we will of course post the scans as soon as we see them surface.

In the massive wake surrounding the record-breaking box office of "Twilight," Robert Pattinson mania has swept through Hollywood and made the charismatic Brit one of its most in-demand young actors. His busy schedule has put him on magazine covers and had him touring all over the world and making public appearances to rioting crowds.
Now, however, Twilighters have one less place where they'll be able to find their beloved RPattz: on the set of his next movie.
MTV News has exclusively confirmed that Pattinson is dropping out of "Parts per Billion," the eagerly anticipated indie film he was scheduled to begin shooting in Los Angeles this month. Although co-star/producer Rosario Dawson had expressed enthusiasm about working with the "Twilight" heartthrob as recently as December 16, a representative for Pattinson confirmed that he is no longer involved.
"What you heard is correct," the 22-year-old star's agent, Nicholas Frenkel, replied to an MTV News query Tuesday (January 6). "Unfortunately, the prep time and production schedule on 'New Moon' haven't left enough time for Robert to work on 'Parts per Billion' in the first quarter of this year."
The news is sure to sadden Pattinson's army of fans, who have been tracking the development of the film for months and were eagerly anticipating his reportedly steamy love scenes to be shot with actress Olivia Thirlby ("Juno"). The ensemble film, which tells the story of several different lives being impacted by the same catastrophic event, will now need to quickly recast the role if shooting is to remain on schedule.
Pattinson's fans might also be interested that his rep cited the pending "New Moon" shoot as the actor's reason for having to leave "Billion." With that much-anticipated "Twilight" sequel not scheduled to get cameras rolling until March, it now seems highly unlikely that RPattz will be able to squeeze in a movie before he returns to the role of Edward Cullen — leaving his fans with only "Little Ashes" and "How to Be" in the can.
