Rachelle talks about Robert Pattinson

Lefevre loves that humble Pattinson never struts his stuff off-screen, despite playing the dreamiest vampire.

"He's British. They're very self-deprecating. He is definitely charming. But I cannot imagine what kind of person would be able to say, 'Yes, I was born to play this role!' when the role is described as the most beautiful, perfect human being -- or vampire -- on the face of the planet. He just, in his soul, would have been wrong to play Edward." (Gozde: I don't think it's because he is British :))

How Rob Gets The Girls

There was a lot of mortal love in the room Friday when Twilight star Kellan Lutz called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show to promote the movie's DVD, which goes on sale just after midnight tonight.

"Rob is the lead, but you're the better-looking Cullen," Ryan bravely admitted to Kellan, at the risk of infuriating millions of Robert Pattinson loyalists.

"Ooh, I need to hang out with people like you more often!" exclaimed Kellan, who then (wisely!) proceeded to share some kind words about his celluloid sibling…

"His accent and his crazy hairdo get the girls swooning," Kellan told Ryan, before pointing out the one quality Pattz possesses that never, ever seems to fail him.

"Rob's kind of shy, and he does this thing, when he's really shy, or when someone asks him something, he lowers his head down and the girls love it!" (Gozde: Who knew Kellan was so observant. Yep that gets us every time! :))

And as if that wasn't enough: "He's such a humble guy," said Kellan, "and I'm very impressed with him."

Bobby Long: "We used to write our songs on the roof. It was Mary Poppins high up,"

From celebuzz.com:

Musician Bobby Long remembers a very different Robert Pattinson than the actor and object of global female attention.

Long remembers the anonymous Pattinson from his Soho, London period when the still-struggling actor was doing his best to write great songs with his mates—like Bobby and Marcus Foster—until all hours of the morning.

"Robert lived in a dingy, horrible, little flat in Soho near Denmark Street," Long recalls to Celebuzz. "We used to hang out and play music until five in the morning, really going for it. Drinking and all that stuff."

"We only ate pizza for like two months. We ballooned on weight," Long recalls. "But it probably helped the vampire look. I know I was really pale."

"It was really chilled-out. Watching films, listening to music and writing."

Chilled-out except for the danger element, since the group also hung out on the steeply pitched building rooftop. "We used to write our songs on the roof. It was Mary Poppins high up," says Long. "We were on ledges eating pizza. Our music was drowned out by taxis and buses."

"Looking back now it is funny how dangerous it was."

Long says he wasn't truly even aware Pattinson was an actor after meeting him at an open-mic night. "I thought he was a musician like myself just struggling through. A student like me," Long says. "I didn't know he was an actor."

"Twilight" comes

As the friendship grew, the acting connections worked out well for all the musicians when Pattinson returned to London after shooting Twilight. Long and Foster played a song they had written called "Let Me Sign" in Pattinson's apartment. It was nothing serious. "We were kind of just mucking around with it," says Long.

"(Robert) thought the song was really cool and took it to L.A.," Long recalls. "Before I knew it, it was going to be used in the film."

Although Long and Foster had written a "country" song about love, the lyrics about signing away one's soul to a woman lent themselves perfectly to undead love (for example, "Damned by the light coming out of her eyes"). That was not the intention going in, Long insists. "But if I tried to write a vampire song, I could not have done it as well as that."

The song was famously performed by Pattinson in the film. Long was able to see the emotional impact first-hand when he heard the song at the London Twilight premiere. "Everyone was crying during the song," he says. "I feel like it's his song now. He's incredible at interpreting people's work."

The unexpected blessing of the Twilight success has led to Long's greater introduction to the global music scene and his first musical tour in the US next month (as well a planned US tour for the summer).

But he still thinks fondly of the Pattinson Soho days. Long reflected on them again, when he shot a video for his new song "Left To Lie" atop a Soho roof. "All the memories came flooding back at that time," says Long.

"And it was equally as dangerous."

Check out Bobby's MySpace page for his US tour dates and music.

Little Ashes Behind The Scenes and translation

You see little snippets of Rob but the Spanish actors are the ones being interviewed so it is all in Spanish. If someone wants to translate anything important and or pertaining to Rob and post it in the comments section that would be wonderful.

Thanks to mytwilightstar @ imdb for the vid link

Translation thanks to Brittany from tMF and Little Ashes Promotional Blitz we now have the translation.
Javier Beltrán- The character I interpret is Federico Garcia Lorca, one of the most important poets that has ever lived in Spain and well, he is one of those poets that is very welcoming for an actor for all the things that the character can offer and also a very challenging character. We don’t have any audiovisual document in which the actor, I, can base on, to see how he talked, how he moved. Still with all his work, his poems its enough to make a proper interpretation of what the poet, Federico Garcia Lorca was. What has been more challenging for me is when I stop and think about who I am interpreting, the world comes tumbling down. Its Federico Garcia Lorca, the poet that the Franco Regime assassinated, and from there he becomes a myth, a legend. That is what has been more difficult for me. I have always tried to make him human, a young poet, with an extraordinary sensibility and from there, I start creating. trying to dilute the myth because if I don’t my world comes tumbling down and if I start thinking “I’m playing Lorca, I’m playing Lorca, I’m playing Lorca” at the end I collapse.

Marina Gatell- I interpret a character named Magdalena but she is based on Margarita Manso. It’s a character that historically coexisted with the generation of... well in the school where Buñuel and Lorca studied. She was very much in love with Lorca... I don’t know, its like a character I think that is useful and fascinating in history so the good guys won’t be too good and the bad guys won’t be that bad. I think it’s a screenplay about making detrimental decisions in the life of these well known artists and she is a little influential in getting them to touch the ground and at the same time make them dream more.

Was Rob in Vancouver all week?

If this is true he is getting extremely good at this hiding thing! I'm not sure I like it :)

According to a gossip blog:

All week Rob Pattinson has been in Vancouver. He arrived via private on Sunday and had more makeup testing to do – something wasn’t quite right last week so they brought him back to tweak. Since the schedule changed, they decided that while he’s in town, they could start training him. Yes ladies. He’s training. He’s sweating. He’s working on that body. Or let that be your fantasy. Am told it’s primarily stunts.

Last night he was out for dinner. Was approached by a male fan asking for an autograph on a napkin and on his arm.

Rob is expected to be out of Vancouver imminently for Twilight DVD promotion.

Film.com Twilight DVD Review

DVD Review: Twilight Is Astonishingly Perfect
The double disc set is a fans delight!
Amanda Mae Meyncke, Mar 19, 2009
You have your Team Edward T-Shirt all washed and pressed, your well worn copies of the four Twilight books are stacked on your night table, and you have your midnight DVD release party plans set in stone. There are just a few scattered doubts lingering in the back of your mind, what if it doesn’t live up to your expectations? What if they left something out? With a Two Disc Special Edition DVD, rest assured, they’ve left nothing out.

Twilight. The books that launched a thousand screaming fits of ecstasy over the love between Bella (Kristen Stewart), a fragile human, and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), an extraordinarily beautiful vampire who seeks to understand and love Bella even as he insists she is safer away from him. That’s pretty much all you need to know, and while it may sound simple, the series tackles a serious question: can love conquer all?

Some DVD commentaries have only minor characters or a screenwriter and editor bantering back and forth over the film, but not Twilight. They’ve delved straight into the collective mind and produced the three people you’d want to hear from most. The audio commentary is beyond hilarious, as director Catherine Hardwicke, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart tease each other, discuss filming problems and improvised moments with the sort of insider glee that’s truly delightful. Surprisingly, Pattinson himself leads the mockery, and his comments show a remarkable amount of self-awareness, as well as some bitingly witty observations, and offerings of alternatively sly dialogue, which tends from minor brilliance to laughing out loud hilarity. In addition to the commentary, worth the retail price alone, there are several music videos from bands that appeared on the soundtrack: Muse, Paramore and Linkin Park. The extended scenes, introduced by the director, offer us a few more glimpses into the world of the vampires, and the day to day existence of Bella and Edward as they learn to love each other.

This DVD release has been suffused with love, and such care and attention for detail that even the most critical fan would be hard pressed to find much to complain about. One nice thing, which given the immensity of work poured into this release feels greedy to even ask for, might have been an audio commentary track with the author, Stephenie Meyer and the screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg discussing the transition of book to screen over the course of the entire film. Also a nice feature might have been a longer look at the music of Twilight, since music plays such a significant role in the books as well as the film. While there is space in the documentary feature, including a visit to composer Carter Burwell’s recording studio, it would have been neat to hear a bit more about the soundtrack selection process.

But idle wishes aside, make no mistake: this DVD is packed with bonus features, including extended and deleted scenes, and one surprising treat. The long documentary on the special second disc, which goes deep into nearly every step of the Twilight film-making process. If you hate the books or the movie, you’re not likely to care for many of the special features, but the “making of” features are still interesting and engaging to anyone interested in stunt-work, or visual effects or the business of putting together an entire production from script to theatrical release. As they explain the movie magic of filming the epic baseball scene, or the crashing through the floorboards in the climactic fight scenes, appreciation starts to grow for the intense amount of work that went into making the film look effortless from start to finish.

A slightly strange but pleasant touch was the inclusion of Comic-Con 2008 footage, where a few thousand screaming fans attended a panel question and answer session with the cast, and clips from the film were screened. Love for a book or a film, is something hard-won and held close to the heart, and as one reads and grows attached to characters, there’s an exchange of ownership. Stephanie Meyer may have written Edward and Bella, but she’s given them up to every reader, and the makers of this film, who so carefully preserved them as best they could. There’s a very real feeling of respect with this DVD, that the trust placed in the filmmakers has been rewarded yet again with an astoundingly replete release that will be treasured and seen again, a thousand times over.

Pattinson and Stewart : Still Really Cool says Twilight Direcror

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke remembers the exact moment she decided to say no to New Moon.

"I was in Paris with Rob [Pattinson] and Kristen [Stewart] at dinner and talking to them and it was like, 'Is this really the schedule? Would we really be starting ten and half weeks from now?'" Hardwicke told me yesterday in Santa Monica at the launch event for her new book, Twilight: Director's Notebook. "Yes, we would, for various reasons which I respect, but I really thought it would be better for somebody else, who hadn't just been working every day for two years without a day off."

But now, as New Moon filming gets underway in Vancouver with director Chris Weitz, does Hardwicke have any regrets? Read on to find out…

"I'm sad," Hardwicke admitted. "But I would not want to let those people down…I was offered a very nice amount of money, plenty more than I have ever seen or my family has seen. But I wanted to do it only if I was going to make it better than Twilight."

Hardwicke says she keeps in touch with Pattinson and Stewart and is happy to report that they haven't changed much since she first met them. "It hasn't gone to their heads," she said. "They're still really cool. They've got their family and friends who keep them grounded. It's so cool."

Hardwicke also confirmed reports that she's reuniting with Summit Entertainment (the studio behind the Twilight movie franchise) to direct the adaptation of If I Stay, a young adult novel that doesn't even come out until next month.

And earlier this week, it was announced that she's attached to Maximum Ride from James Patterson's book series about a group of kids who are 98 percent human and two percent bird.

Yes, another series with a nice big fan base. Sound familiar?

"I love when people are that excited and passionate about it," she said. "When you do an indie film you're just hoping somebody will go see the movie and you're trying to stir it up with some excitement. The fact that there already is excitement is great."

source

Gozde:

Dear Catherine,

I liked you, I loved your "spunk" about the whole series AND you cast Rob as Robward Cullenson which gave you an all inclusive pass to anything EVER done but YOU left out the "I love you"s in Twilight, YOU left out why Edward fell in love with Bella and vice versa, YOU deleted the scenes that were vital to the movie and left in the ones that were commercial. YOU cast Nikki Reed as Rosalie! I do love me some Nikki but Rosalie? Seriously? The most beautiful BLOND woman in the world?

As a woman YOU couldn't capture the love between Edward and Bella!

If it wasn't for Rob I would have hated the movie adaptation of Twilight.

I hope the next installments will show Robward as the gentleman who would DIE to make Bella happy/loved. NOT drag her around by the arm and tell her to google stuff!

Just do your research people! It's not that hard...
