Bel Ami News

Uma Thurman is set to help Robert Pattinson cut his teeth as a bad-boy journalist in “Bel Ami,” which begins filming next month.

“They are planning on doing the film ‘Bel Ami’ in London,” Thurman’s rep told PEOPLE, confirming the actress’ involvement. Of a reported scripted kiss between the stars, the rep said, “The plot of the movie is not being released just yet.”

Pattinson — cast in May in the story based on the 19th-century novel by Guy De Maupassant — will also be joined onscreen by Christina Ricci, reportedly as a promiscuous young housewife, and Kristin Scott Thomas.

The actor, 23, who plays a Parisian soldier-turned-journalist, has said that the lead female role in the movie “needs to be literally inspirational.” One can only guess that Thurman, 39, fills the bill — and then some.

Chris Weitz talks about Robert Pattinson and New Moon with a Lucky Contest Winner

JennyBrutal was lucky enough to win the @Twilight Sweeps Contest and was able to talk with Chris Weitz on the phone. Below are the questions about Rob and Edward - you can read the full interview HERE.

I know Edward's car is now a dark silver, but was there any reason for the change?

Availability. Volvo wanted to introduce a new car into the series, instead of the older model. So they provided a newer model, brown Volvo. Immediately we knew it had to be repainted, and chose a dark, non-shiny, black colour. It added more to the first Edward scene in the movie, the feeling is upbeat but the colour of the vehicle adds to the danger lurking.

I really enjoyed the added scene with Victoria swimming towards Bella. (The book hints to the orange colour the water was reflecting, in a later revelation by Bella.) How did this scene come to be?

Well, the orange coloured water wouldn't have looked right in the scene so we put her in the water visibly. That scene was difficult because we wanted to film her swimming towards Bella but it had to be at a distance. If it wasn't at a distance fans would wonder why Victoria didn't just get her in that short scene, but at the same time it had to feel threatening. That was all shot in Vancouver in a swimming pool, we had the actors underwater with four or five frog men with air tubes for security purposes. We also had green screens in the water surrounding the actors so we could CGI in all the particals in the water. Theres actually a program to add in all of the floating debris and colour differences in the water after filming. Kristen had a cold at the time and was scared of drowning. We had to force her to stay in the water [laughter] But Rob was more comfortable in the water, hes had to shoot underwater scenes in the past. [Harry Potter]

Were there any scenes that you would have loved to see in the film but never made the final cut?

Yes, one scene. Theres a scene with a motorcycle crash that gives more of a sense of danger. The reason why it didn't make the final cut was because of weather reasons, it was just too sunny to be considered Forks. The DVD will include that scene as well as extended scenes. Some of the extended scenes include more of Edward's visit to the Volturi concerning his immortality and more from the scene between Carlisle and Bella. [when he was stitching Bella up.] In one of the early drafts of the script this scene was not in the movie. Immediately I knew that had to change, it was essential to the story line.

Refreshing, nice and easy going, that's Robert Pattinson!

According to his co-star Emilie de Ravin anyway... I'm inclined to agree, you know, because I know him so well!!! ;-)

Emilie de Ravin took the stage at today's TCAs in Pasadena where she answered questions with all her Lost castmates before their last season starts Feb. 2. After the panels, we snuck in one question about, who else, Robert Pattinson, who she worked with on the upcoming Remember Me. It's one of the movie's we're most looking forward to this year, especially after the latest hot poster and here's what she had to say. On working with Rob on Remember Me vs. her Lost leading men:

Every experience with whoever you work with is always different. I had a great time working with him. We really made a point of working on our characters and their relationships and such. He's a really easy going and nice guy to work with, which is always refreshing.

Love hearing her gush a little bit about Rob, who has been quite successfully laying low since his and Kristen's New Year's fan encounter.

Saoirse Ronan Says It Was Considerate Of Robert Pattinson Not To Steal The Spotlight At The Lovely Bones Premiere

When reading a novel, most of us develop our own images of its characters based upon our interpretation the text. It must have been a bit surreal for you, having already played Susie, to picture yourself within the context of the book.

SR: Yeah, it’s weird. I really sympathize with the likes of Kristen Stewart, who’s playing Bella in Twilight. I think teenagers can make their points more well known than adults, and they feel quite strongly about things — [especially] with a book like Twilight, which I read and loved and that everyone just was sort of obsessed with. And if anyone has their own image of what Bella should be like and then they see Kristen, everything is blamed on her, you know? Luckily, that hasn’t happened for me, but because I’ve done about four movies now that have been based on books, I can see how people would be like that — and even how I would be like that. But I wouldn’t blame the actor or anything. I felt a little bit of pressure, not only because [The Lovely Bones] was a book but because the whole movie was, in a way, on my shoulders. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When I interviewed Kristen for New Moon, I was struck by how protective she was about her character.

SR: Yeah, it doesn’t seem to her like she’s making a movie that has about three sequels and is based on a book and all the teenagers are going to see it. It seems to her that this is a very serious role that’s important to her, and I respect her for that. I felt the same way when I did Atonement and people would come up to me and say, “God, that was an awful child that you played. She was such a bitch.”

People really said that to you?!?

SR: Yeah! People said that to me ... so I can see why Kristen would feel defensive about her character.

Speaking of Twilight, I heard that Robert Pattinson snuck into the Lovely Bones premiere.

SR: Yeah, I heard that when I was at the after-party. I didn’t see him, though.

You figure he’d at least have the courtesy to say hello.

SR: [Laughs] Actually, someone said that to me: “God, you think he’d come up and tell you how awesome you were.” And I was like, eh, it doesn’t make a difference. It’s okay. I can see why he would just want to sneak in. I mean obviously, if he snuck in and didn’t do the whole red carpet, then he just wanted to see the movie, which is great. He didn’t want to do the whole, “Oh look, Robert Pattinson’s here!” He seems like a really nice guy, though.

I guess it was considerate of him to not want to steal the spotlight.

SR: Exactly, yeah. Because he would have. [Laughs]

Ashley Green Says "Gross" To A Love Scene With Robert Pattinson But Anna Kendrick Thinks Differently

You can see a vid of Ashley's interview here

From Radar Online
Twilight's Ashley Greene is stunning in her sexy Sports Illustrated photo shoot for SoBe, but we know that her fans want to know about Alice Cullen and what's next for the vampire beauty and if we might see her in a love scene anytime soon. "There's a bit of one," Ashley began when asked about a love scene for her character, but she quickly stopped giving any more details, not even which movie the love scene may be in.

"There's a bit of one," Ashley began when asked about a love scene for her character, but she quickly stopped giving any more details, not even which movie the love scene may be in.

"You'll see one coming up in my near future," she teased. Whether or not it's in Eclipse, she wouldn't say: "I'm not telling!"

One thing we did find out was that the love scene is not with heart throb Rpattz. "Oh gross!" Ashley joked when asked if she and the oh-so-handsome Rob Pattinson would ever have a love scene together. "I think out of anyone the connection that Alice and Edward have because of their extra abilities that would be weird."

And here's what Anna thinks.

From Digital Spy
Anna Kendrick has said that she would be happy to kiss her co-stars George Clooney or Robert Pattinson if a role demanded it.

The Golden Globe nominee appeared with Clooney in Up In The Air and with Pattinson in the Twilight series, but their characters did not have any romantic interaction.

Kendrick told Metro: "If I had to snog them I'm sure it would be fine, they're both professionals.

"But there is something a little creepy about everybody going mad about how hot they are because I started thinking of them as relatives. It's like the entire world talking about how hot your cousin is."

When asked for any gossip on Pattinson, she added: "Dream on! You start to wonder how many times you can say, 'He's a great guy', and have it reprinted as 'ANNA KENDRICK TALKS R-PATZ!'.

"It's like, oh my god, Twilight fans, this is so not breaking news. All I said was that he's great. I've said it a million times before."

(Kate: I'm with Anna !! Surprise, surprise :-))
