Always happy to see him at award shows and nominated, but have to say, I wish it would have been for Remember Me.

Going to vote......

i myself would of love if it was RM but we have to understand RM did not fare to well

Well i think this is a hot kiss...let's go vote!!!

I can't believe that he wasn't nominated for Remember me... Twi-hards are strange creatures... The grand majority only wants to see these actors in the Twilight Saga and nothing else. And it's such a pity. Let's be honest. He was barely in New Moon, and he did such a good job in Remember me. I wish people would have gone to see this movie and appreciate his work in it.

Me too CL....everything about Remember Me was so much better than New Moon....suks...but I will always vote for Rob!

I hope everyone will vote for Rob in the MTV awards. Vote for him in best actor, global superstar and best kiss.

MTV is going to pick the movie that is more well known. People won't even remember which movie it was, they will only remember that Rob won BEST ACTOR if he wins. So vote. And for GLOBAL SUPERSTAR too.

And vote as often as you can as you can vote more than once.

ShariG said...

I voted for everything Rob, but this wasn't even the best kiss. I loved the one in Italy more or the one in her bedroom after Italy. Does anyone know if you can vote more than once?

ShariG said...

CullenLover, I voted for him in Remember Me too in the nominations. I particulary liked the kiss, but also just as best male performance.

ShariG said...

I am a little bit glad that in the end our votes won't be divided between Remember Me and Twilight New Moon because he is really great in both. Rob fans can concentrate their votes on one film.

ch1ka said...

I'll vote u patz,but if u win,what will u do?just thank me n forget it?
Cmon,i need ur respons...:)

nikola6 said...

I haven't gone over to that site yet, but let me get this straight?

Rob, who only has a supporting role in the film, gets a lead nomination while Taylor (who was the male lead) gets shut out AND Kristen who gave a stronger performance here than she did in Twilight (for which she won Best Actress), also isn't nominated? Have I got this right? If so, I am confused.

Who does the nominating, MTV or the fans? (I know. I need to keep ut). And is the 'global star' an award they have every year, or is it a brand new one created just this year?

If this thing is solely fan driven,

@Nik- here's the full list of nominees, they only posted the ones here with Rob in them

I would love to vote but can't!!!
I guess since I'm from Canada, my "log in" for MTV.com isn't working!

nikola6 said...

Sorry. New computer and I'm still getting used to it and it posted before I said go.

If this thing is fan driven, then how can anybody ever doubt that this franchise is indeed driven by Robert Pattinson's star power and his character, Edward Cullen?

And if MTV has done the nominating here, then they know who's going to bring in the ratings. That is if he shows up...

With him filming and Kristen being overlooked for a nomination, he might not show. Unless Summit demands that he does.

How could they not nominate Kristen? She was wonderful in this one. By just nominating Rob in the lead performance, when it was most definitely a supporting one, it shows once again, that the fans of this franchise, have no credibility whatsoever. They're just drippy fangirls who'd nominate Rob for anything whether he deserved it or not.

I adore him, but he does not deserve a lead nomination (at any award show this year) for his performance in New Moon. It was a supporting role. If anyone deserves the leading nods, it's Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

And that's why these kinds of awards show have no real credibility. They're just silly popularity contests.

I hope Rob doesn't win Best Actor because that would embarrass him. Global superstar? ABSOLUTELY!!!

And yeah. That kiss was pretty hot. Actually, it was heartbreaking.

nikola6 said...

Okay. I just went and read the list of nominees and everything I said before? In the words of Emily Litella...never mind.

God. I feel like Emily Litella right now. Always railing against those who are uninformed, then I come here not knowing what I'm talking about and shooting off my big mouth.

But this is still a silly popularity contest and Rob shouldn't be nominated for Best Actor.

Predictions?

Avatar will probably beat NM for Best Pic. Rob will most likely win that Global Superstar thing AND...

What do you want to bet that Kristen and Dakota will beat Kristen and Rob for Best Kiss? Haven't seen The Runnaways yet (it came and went so fast, I didn't have a chance but I really want to), so I don't know how hot that kiss was between those two, but...

Anytime MTV can get two women up there to kiss, they usually go for it. Wonder what Rob would think of that? Kristen and Dakota winning over him and Kristen? And if they do, do you think they would kiss? It's traditional, you know.

This could get very interesting.

Carole UK said...

I also feel that Kristen and Taylor should have received nominations ... they were both fantastic in New Moon.

Surely Rob will win Global Superstar?!

Incidentally I don't think we can vote in the UK - I get diverted to MTV.co.uk and there is no mention of votes on there, unless I'm missing something ...

noisefaidaus said...

Yep I still can't vote even when I try to connect through Facebook.

Anonymous said...

@CaroleUK- Kristen and Taylor were both nominated for the acting and for global superstar like Rob. Kristen is actually the only female nominated for global superstar. Kristen was also nominated a second time for Best Kiss with Dakota in the Runaways.

Est said...

Ok, i'm going to say my opinion about these awards and it's going to be very bad, so if you don't want to, don't keep reading

I always remark the difference between actor and famous and, in my opinion, this awards are made to increase their popularity, not to really acknowledge their worth and talent as an actors/actress, because if the awards really did it, Zac Efron wouldn't be nominated for best actor! (O.O)

I mean, i don't want Rob to be a super-global-mega-ultra-star, i want him to be a good actor, so i don't care about the awards given by a tv chanel which shows "Next", "Tila tekila", "date my mom", "my sweet 16", "i'm pregnant before 16" (i miss old MTV, just music and culture, now they're basicaly saying to the young girls "hey, do you want to be famous? be a bitch and you will be in our shows!")

I'm really sorry but i don't vote for rob's in contest/awards like this, because what happen if he doesn't win? nothing, we all know he's really good, and he will show that to the public and critics with his movies and possible oscar, not with his mtv awards

jmm4832 said...

I agree with you Nik. Robert should not have been nominated for a leading male role since he was only a supporting one. I won't watch this show unless Rob is there.

ShariG said...

I disagree. Rob is the face of the franchise. The entire saga centers around Bella and Edward. New Moon had to bring in the triangle, but how many of you skip right through the Jacob parts to get to Edward. I certainly do and the book was more focused on Edward than the movie which cut short many of the Edward scenes. I am voting. I want him to win because he is actually the best actor in the film. Second best is probably Billy Burke, in my opinion.

shirleegirl said...

nikola6 - you don't have to vote for Rob for anything - since it is a free country, vote for Taylor and Kristen, they are nominated in the same categories as he is besides we KNOW that Rob could care less if he wins - we care more than he does

Cin2607 said...

hey guys
someone gave me this tip, as far as i know you can only vote once a day, but if you want to vote several times in the same category you have to erase your "cookies" from you computer and it'll let you start fresh, otherwise, you could click "vote" a hundred times and it counts as one vote, im not sure if it really works since im a technology retarted but... it's worth the shot...i mean for those of you/us who are willing to vote several times for rob to win, i know he'll win anyways... but you know.... just thought i'd share...

shoegal2547 said...

@ShariG - well said...I skip over the werewolf parts all the time in every Twilight book and movie. Edward and Bella are the central characters in the story!

Still think BD could be made in one movie...that's just me.

Just voted...

bach said...

@ShariG - Yes you can vote more than once per day. Just clear your website history. If you're using Firefox it's easier coz you just click Tools, then Clear Recent History.

MTV is a more mainstream media, has more diverse audience and has been there a long time for their movie awards, so I would rather vote here than any other popularity contests. It sucks though that RM was not nominated for any award.

Cin2607 said...

ok, i think...i think it works...
someone mentioned it on twitter also so...js....

Can we see the results so far? some say there is a tie between Rob and Kristen for the global one.

To WEN.Just keep trying. I am in Canada and I voted 2 minuts ago. I logged at MTV USA>

MMc said...

Interesting that they didn't even SHOW the kiss between Kristen and Dakota!! hmmmmm

ShariG said...

Thanks, Nutz. I've been voting every chance I get. The contest doesn't say lead male it says male performance and I think Rob was fantastic in New Moon. He was the reason I went to see it, the reason I bought both the three disc and two disc DVDs and the reason that I can't wait for tomorrow to see Oprah!

ShariG said...

Thanks for the hint Cin. It seems to be working.

jessegirl said...

evangeline, RPG, CullenLover...alynutz...etc.
Yeah, RM was better and the only upside is that, as ShariG says, it won't divide the vote.

Twigirlfans have voted a long time ago with their voices and pocketbooks. A long time ago.
Voting wore me out last year and it is a bit bogus in that we can do it as often as we like.
If it were RM, I'd be on that damn site all day long but as it is I'm worn out and will let the chips fall where they may.

Besides, I'm sick of critics, fickle fans, polls and even the way the big awards are handled. I disagree so often. I might watch the shows--to see The Pretty--but won't pay any heed to the results.
Ho hum.

jessegirl said...

It was the breakup kiss I liked.

Actually the breakup scene was torture. Remember when Bella gets out of her truck and her face changes when she sees him, then notices his demeanour?
Well, that little head nod he does when he says, quiettly, 'take a walk with me' hit the perfect pitch. You know doom is coming.

jessegirl said...

GLOBAL SUPER STAR!
I think they invented that category for him this year.

jessegirl said...

ShariG...You caught me. Not only do I decide with my mind to skip the middle portion of NM, my body decides. Every time, without fail, before I put my finger on fast forward, I fall asleep. I only wake up when they're racing to save Edward. Isn't my body smart?

jessegirl said...

Oh, and just before Edward leaves, he kisses her head. I bet you've all seen his face. He shuts his eyes, then squeezes them shut harder, opens them with a pained look which then changes to a look of utter despair. He already knows despair will accompany him wherever he goes.
Oh, Edward...sigh...

prc said...

I love Rob but in no way will I vote for him for New Moon. I went to see NM twice to make sure it was a crappy as I thought it was the first time. It was. I do think Taylor did a good job as Jacob. In fact I think he stole the show.
Best kiss? ok those rushed G-rated awkward kisses in NM were Meh. Felt nothing watching them. I will vote for Rob for Global super star though.
If he was nominated for Remember Me for best performance and best Kiss then I would have voted for him. There I would have felt he deserved it. Did you see the two love scenes in that movie? Hello Steamy! Summit screwed with it all they could to ruin it, and they still had amazing easy organic chemistry. I know we won't get any of the cut love scenes in the DVD either. Conflict of interest Summit? Hate them.

Unknown said...

While it's true that Rob wasn't in NM all that much, it was the promise that we were going to see much more of him that basically caused fans to actually watch NM. Since Rob is what makes the Twilight franchise successful. Sure you may Taylor/Jacob's abs or whatever, but when it comes down to it, it's Robert/Edward that attracts fans. I'm glad that Kristen is also nominated for Best leading actress, she does deserve this.

I'm definitely voting for Rob in everything he is nominated for - Best leading actor, Global Superstar and of course Best Kiss. C'mon, who doesn't want to see what they come up with this year when they win?

Unknown said...

@ShariG I agree with you with the kisses. My favourite is the one where they come back from Italy and Edward is in Bella's bedroom. There was just something about the position of Edward on the floor while Bella was on the bed. It was just a really tender moment. And of course the Italy one was awesome, I just wish that Chris didn't go close up with the camera, but it was hot none the less.

nikola6 said...

Yup Shirleegirl...
It certainly is a free country and no, I wouldn't vote for Taylor just because he gave the lead performance in the film. My point was...

I wouldn't vote for Rob if I thought he was placed in the wrong catagory (which he was) or if I thought he gave a lousy performance (which he did not), just because I think he's hot. When it comes to his work (and even these silly, little irrelevant MTV Movie Awards), that is not enough. I've got too much respect for his talent to do that. If I cast a vote for him for anything, it's going to be because I think he deserves it. And he does not deserve a Best Actor nod here and he would be the first to tell you so. Even throughout promotion for this film, he said more than once, 'this is Taylor's film'. And I do think it would embarrass him in front of his peers if he wins because he/they won't believe that he deserved it and he/they will just chalk it up to fangirls who'd vote for him for anything and therefore, the win won't have much credibility and probably won't mean that much to him (if it even does in the first place). If he wins something, I want it to mean something. That's all.

Would I vote for him for this Global award? Absolutely. At the moment, he is one of the mega stars of the world and for him to win that, would not be false. It would only confirm the level of his stardom. That one he deserves. And that's the vote of mine, he'll get.

But speaking of embarrassed. What do you suppose he thought of being included in Time Magazine's Most Influential Top 100? Knowing what I know of him, I would imagine he cringed, rolled his eyes and thought...

'what idiot would put me on an influential list? I'm a punk ass kid who's made two movies that made some money. How does that make me influential?'

And no, I did not vote for him in that one. He hasn't earned 'influential' yet. He will. But he hasn't done it yet. Unless were talking about the trends of wearing beanies, plaid shirts, eating Hot Pockets, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, drinking Heineken and having fly away hair. That's not having TRUE influence. That's dictating fads. And he knows it. And that's because he's intelligent.

Whatever. Vote him in as Best Dog Catcher. It's all completely meaningless anyway. Any 'celebrity' award voted on by the public has absolutely no relevance anyway. It's just for fun. Nothing wrong with that.

nikola6 said...

And as long as I'm getting shit off my chest...

New Moon.

I know that for many, it was their least favorite book because Edward was gone and the spotlight was on Jacob. And yes, I missed Edward too. Terribly. But we were suppose to. And you did. Edward may not have been in the story 'physically' but you felt his 'presence' throughout. You felt it through Bella's agony. And that agony was palpable. You felt it in your bones (I only wish we could have felt some of Edward's too. Meyer's HUGE mistake in these books? Omitting Edward's point of view). But if you skipped most of NM racing to get to where Edward comes back, you missed a great deal of this ENTIRE story. Because what happens in NM (all of it), serves what is lying up ahead in Eclipse and BD. It sets up the stark differences between Edward and Jacob; one being a selfless MAN, the other being, a selfish BOY. You missed a great deal of Bella's feelings about Edward (that he was so much a physical part of her that when she thought of him, or any reference was made about him or even the sound of his name, she literally had to wrap her arms around her body to keep her guts from spilling out onto the ground. Pretty powerful stuff). And most importantly, you missed the IMPACT of his return. And it was HUGE. If you only read up to where he left, then picked it up when he came back, I'm curious how that played out for you emotionally. If you never gave yourself the chance to miss him, how were you overjoyed when he returned? For me, the greatest emotional impact in the entire series, was when Edward and Bella were reunited in NM and I just don't understand how someone could feel the impact of that, if they didn't feel the agony of their seperation first. And it was in the middle part of the book, where all the agony played out.

And there's a reason why Rob says it was HIS favorite of the four books. It was the best written of the four. Hands down.

I just don't understand how some think they know this story in it's entirety when in fact, they skipped over, perhaps, the most agonizing and emotional part of it. I would love for someone to explain this to me.

I mean, for some was this just simply about Edward? Only Edward? And don't get me wrong. He's my favorite character too and without him, the way Meyer drew him, I probably wouldn't have even finished the first book. She's not a good enough writer and without the compelling and complicated character of Edward Cullen, this was just another little, drippy teenage love story. Nothing wrong with those. Just not my cup of tea. But...

Just because a character isn't in the NOW, in the moment of the story, doesn't mean he isn't there. His absence in NM was a character unto itself. I highly recommend you read it again. Cover to cover. I think you might be surprised at how much you missed and then by knowing it, you'll discover the love story becomes even richer. Deeper.

Just a thought or two...or twelve.

nikola6 said...

Just one last little thought. Promise.

It's in NM that you come to truly understand the depth of feelings that these two characters have for one another. How they love each other to the point of irrationality and even insanity. They are literally willing to go insane over each other and to die for one another (and they damn near do both).

Edward Cullen and Isabella Swan are going to go down as two of the great lovers in literature (and I don't care if it is considered 'young adult' literature). And it's in New Moon, that they begin to go down that road to legendary status.

Not in the beginning of New Moon. Not in the end of New Moon. But in the ENTIRE story of New Moon.

I'm just so sorry that so many have 'missed' it. Because if you haven't read that entire book, then...you have.

Just my opinion and once again, that don't make it right. Just mine.

This isn't the academy awards it's for your favorites.
You all complain about Rob not being recognized for Remember Me.
HELLO I'm sorry but it comes down to who people love more Edward or Tyler ? We all know the answer to that.
It's not that surprising people that New Moon won come on just by sale numbers Remember Me got killed. And his performance was great in Remember Me but this isn't about who was better it's who was your favorite. And I hate to say this you complain about his Edward role and how you want better or different but he's honestly ruined the character of Edward for me. And wish he would do more Tyler or Jacob roles.
