I absolutely loved it. I was literally shaking during the battle scene when Carlisle went down and then Jasper and I was sure Alice was next. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.... and then nothing. OMG! what a ride! It took hours for me to calm down afterwards. It was the best rollercoaster I've ever been on. I will see this over and over. I really can't wait for it to come out on dvd.

I went to the midnight viewing, haven't watched or read any spoilers this time and was in total awe. I didn't expect it, and was in shock when I saw first Carlisle getting killed....then Jasper...I was looking at my friend and was: WTF!! Then when Edward fell down the ice...I thought well when he is dead I will leave the cinema. I was in total utter shock and didn't know what to think. Then the release....this fight took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride, I've never been before in a Twilight film. I thought Michael Sheen as Aro was one of the outstanding performances, best Aro ever. I loved the funny bits with Jacob and Charlie, and the one with Emmet and Bella. Didn't like the hunting scene, I thought it wasn't good. Also the Renesme and Charlie bit, was wrong for me. I loved the ending when Bella showed Edward how much she loved him, well done with the bits from the past. Twilight is my favourite of all, but then next is Breaking Dawn Part II, an amazing job from Bill Conden and the cast, it truly took you on an emotional ride. One word: EPIC.

I thought it was fantastic. The first half was funny and charming. The second was, jaw-dropping. I could sleep for hours afterward. I can't wait to take my my husband to see it. I also love the new spin that Alice is the ultimate hero, instead of Bella.

Gozde said...

I cried, I laughed, I screamed! LOVED IT!!!!

I love it! I have to agree with another poster that the first hunt was just ok. But I loved that they gave Rob some funny lines, especially when Bella is trying to project her shield. I kind of wanted the sex scene to be a little more steamy but I still loved it! The battle scene was epic. I was shaking like a leaf through the whole thing. I loved Rob's stunt when he came flying out of the ravine. I have seen the movie twice and I was still shaking even the second time. The end with Bella showing Edward her memories was fantastic and I cried during the credits. It was a great way to wrap up all the movies!

Saw it on Friday! loved it! i think the twist was really great, there were a couple of really visually beautiful shots, quite a decent soundtrack and the final scene.....PERFECTION!!!!! just the way i`d imagined it...B. showing Edward her memories, her saying HOW FREAKING MUCH she loves him, the last sentence from the book....WOW!!!! quite a nice finale, i would say...all the DAddyward moments----FLAWLESS!!!! loved the scene with Edward and Calrisle the night before the battle. The sex scene was also very sweet and tastefully done. RobWard---GORGEOUS!!!! all in all, i`m pretty satisfied. well done!!! now happily looking forward to all of Rob`s upcoming projects!!!!!

Everyone yelled in the theater when Carlisle's head came off and then Jasper. My heart stopped for a moment when I thought Edward was going to be killed. So glad I didn't read the spoilers and was surprised that the fight was just Alice's vision. The montage at the end was my favorite and I cried.

I don't think I have come down yet from the Marathon on Thursday/Friday! Absolutely brilliant, can't wait to see it again! Loved the first scenes of Bella running through the forest with Edward, and being wild, but the bit where she caught the mountain lion was a bit "tame". Wasn't keen on Edward and Bella's little house - not at all what I imagine from the book. But everything else - wow wow wow! I really wish I could contact Bill Condon to congratulate him on making sure a wonderful movie.

Gozde said...

Me too. I got all choked up when they showed scenes from all the previous movies, especially the first one. Overall Twilight is my favorite movie. There's just something special about Robward walking into the cafeteria that first time.

Gozde said...

Loved it! Saw it twice, the second time loved the reaction of the audience when they realized the fight was Alice's vision! Eager to go with my daughter to see her reaction as well!

Gozde said...

amazing that they have kept "the secret twist" secret all this time. I have seen it twice, may go again today. so many details to take in. Loved that it was back to their love story.

Gozde said...

I loved it !!!! I loved that there was comedy in it, particularly at the beginning (please please Rob do a comedy).
Aro's laugh !!! OMG I still can't decide if it was scarey or funny....it gave me goose bumps and I laughed out loud.
When Bella put Renesmee on Jacobwolf's back I was upset that Edward didn't get his goodbye speech in - I loved that in the book but it made sense in the end. When Jacob asked if he should call Edward dad and he replied NO - Rob's delivery was spot on!
Did I say I loved the comedy??? LOL Rob knows how to deliver a line and as we all know just his facial expressions can convey so much :-)
I think I was caught up in so many moments and reacting to so many scenes that I have to go again very soon to soak up more that I'm sure I missed.
Oh and finally the fight scene - OMG when Carlisle's head came off I nearly flew out of my seat and the carnage continued!!! Usually 'dream' sequences are a cop out but when this turned out to be a future vision I was so relieved it wasn't true!! The ending was beautiful and incorporating the pages from the book was brilliant.
I laughed, I cried and I thoroughly enjoyed!!!

Gozde said...

OMG I screamed so loud! Amazing

Gozde said...

Absolutely LOVED it!!!! From the very first moment when Bella first saw Edward to the very surprising end!!! The twist at the end hit me like a brick wall. I had been gasping and trying not to yell, cry through out the whole fight. My daughter was with me and she did cry. She was so relieved when it ended like it did. Everyone did a terrific job!! Can't wait to see it again!! Then can't wait for the DVD, so many twilight marathons will be held at my house over the next year(s). Thanks to the cast and crew everyone involved in putting this film out it is Amazing!!!!

Gozde said...

I thought is was really enjoyable. The "surprise" is just what I expected from Melissa and Stephenie and Bill executed it well. My favorite aspect was Rob (no surprise there, right?) He was so relaxed and engaging as a dad and husband to vampire Bella. His performance was great. I was somewhat disappointed that the trailer gave away so much of the film, but the battle sequence was riviting!! ....when does this come out on DVD?!?!?!?

Gozde said...

I started the clapping when Alice finally pulled her hand away from Aro.

Gozde said...

May be for me it was more concentrated because I saw all 4 films FOR THE FIRST TIME just 1 month ago! And I loved it, you know.... This film it's quite a "thing" respecting another 4. It's more Adult film. And all of them are aged and look more adult and grown up. And they look more confident with themselves. Definitely an Event and it will remain as it is for a long long time.

Gozde said...

I'm just curious, did anyone else get to see an after the credits scene? I've heard some people did, but my showing did not :[ just curious.

Gozde said...

Hi Maria. RobfestUK ladies saw it Friday and Saturday and looved it! Aro's laugh! Guess MS was trying to portray how the realisation of what Renesmee was, was blowing his mind! but I did laugh. Rob said that Bill Condon had added something really sweet at the end and I guess it was showing all the players that had appeared throughout the whole series and it really was a beautiful thing to do. I felt quite emotional when Bella showed Edward the past and we saw all the key moments from the beginning, and then the roll of cast. It was a truly great portrayal of the final part of the story and a great ending. Lots more to say, but I could go on and on!!

Gozde said...

I absolutely loved it, as did my husband! I agree with so many of the previous posts so I won't reiterate. But, did anyone else notice that in the final scene in the SUNNY meadow, that neither of them sparkle? I don't know why that bothered me, sorry. Loved the acknowledgement of the book and the credit to all the actors. Well done BC, well done.

Gozde said...

The ending with the roll call of the cast throughout was such a lovely idea.So much to say about it all, suffice to say - great, great, and er - oh yes - great!!

Gozde said...

Saw it 3 times in 21 hours starting with thurs 10 pm. Loved it all.Great job made it an even better story than the book and I love the books. Loved Rob doing some fun and humor. Bella is my hero. Taylor was great. Truly epic. Thanks to all involved. Bill condon was the right man for the job

Gozde said...

I went to the movies on Friday night and at first I thought that can't be happening but it seemed so real. But then when Alice pulled her hand away and you realize it was 'just' a vision everyone in the theater started clapping. I loved it.

Gozde said...

Just about had a panic attack when Carlisle lost his head.....and then Jasper. I was hyperventilating in my seat and gasping out "NOoooooo" with the rest of the shrieking audience.
Had to go back two more times just to make sure it wasn't just the midnight audience that was shocked.
Loved it. Loved the end. Now I need to go back again to see the end of the credits...seems I missed the very end where they put in a fun bit.

i have not seen BD2 yet because i have no one too go with, they all say they hate vampires, and the one other person is my aunt, she is correct exam papers,if i was in the us, i've got friend but these ppl not so much, my brother he's by so girl, or well!

Gozde said...

First of all I would like to say Robert, thank you for doing all those press junket. Repeating the same answers to the same questions must take a lot of patience especially you take time to really think of giving answers as best you can. As for your behind the scenes hard work to see this last movie through must be an incredible ride, to say the least.

I was surprised when Edward said he would ask the vampires to fight which was not from the book. To then see the fight scenes, many of our favourite people die (Carlisle, Jasper, werewolves...), I was surprised. But the audience did not scream, as I am in Australia. I would imagine the American audience would have screamed NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....!!! However when it turned out to be just Alice's visions, some young girls in the front row were clapping. I am sure had I been in an American theatre the audience reaction will be what cinematic experience I would want to be in.

When Rob says there would be a surprise twist from the book, I purposely did not read the spoilers online and just as well, I absolutely love it. Again I am disappointed I am amongst Australian audience by which I am sure had it been American audience with teenage girls, it would have magnified the cinematic experience.

The ending scene where Billy Condon introduced all the past players, I am pleased he included both actors playing Victoria. From memory there was a court case about the first actor. So to acknowledge both actors is nice.

Billy Condon said in an interview that the DVD would be 2.5 hours long, with EVERYTHING in it. The original 112 minutes in the cinema is covering just about well enough so I look forward to DVD.

Overall, I thank Robert and all others involved in Twilight movies coming into fruition.

Gozde said...

I agree......its so easy to just gush about the film :-)

Gozde said...

I just came back from watching the movie!!! I loved it. Rob was so freaking charming/beautiful/engaging.......love him.
I gasp/cried during the battle scene. I was so upset, I couldn't believe what, what happening, until the end of the scene, when I realized it wasn't real, thank God.
It finally hit me when the movie was over, that there isn't another one coming any time soon. I will miss those kids in this particular setting, and all they brought to our lives. Thanks twilight.
Goob bye: Edward, Bella, Jacob, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, Emmet, Carlisle, Esme, Charlie, and the rest of the cast.
See you in 2013 Rob, I can't wait!!!! Love you Rob.:))))))))))))

Gozde said...

Just came home from the douple feature.
AMAZING !!!! I laughed a lot and cried at the end.
Rob was great. I thought I couldn´t love him more, but seeing him as a father ....I have no words. It´s a very different Edward he´s playing. And finally he could kick some ass !!!!´
I´m going again on Wednesday. Can´t wait !!!!!
This journey has come to an end but I´m very excited to see his future work !!!
LOVE YOU ROB !!!!!

Gozde said...

I would go with you, if we lived close by each other. Go to the early showing, you will be amazed at how many people are their alone, I promise you. I saw lots of people doing it alone. Plus remember you are going to see Rob!!!!

Gozde said...

Didn't we just love it? It did not disappoint! Awesome the fight scene...the whole theater was losin' it...I can't wait to see it again..Justin, my grandson(17) went with me and he loved it, too. Did your HD go with you?

Gozde said...

They didn't show it today when I saw it either, so I went up to the manager and he said they didn't get that part. The manager was looking at me as if I had two heads, like WTF are you talking about woman? Oh well, more to see when the DVD comes out!!

Gozde said...

I thought it was well done, better than the book which seemed a rush and jumble to patch everything up, certainly different in a better way, resolving things better with a catharsis (getting to see Aro offed was such release!). People were crying when Carlisle and Jasper were 'killed' but I had a feeling that Alice was showing a vision. It resolved things better than the book; I recall people complaining about the book that there was no battle, the battle that never was, sort of like Zor and Zam. So with the film's version, there was a battle and an explanation of why it was presented and not yet a reality--it was up to Aro as that would be the future unless he changed course. But the 'reality'--the retreat-- did leave things hanging--with Aro remarking 'such a prize...' He could come back in 20 years' time to get Renesmee and work on Alice. And if it is through Renesmee's eyes, Edward and Bella could look a bit older, because they are her parents, the old folks. ;-) I thought Bella letting Edward 'in' and sharing those lovely scenes from previous films was sweet and well-done. The ending was a sweet farewell. I don't like the term 'bitter-sweet' for this, as there is no bitterness; everyone benefitted from the saga, except the price and sacrifice/theft of private life from Rob and Kristen, which has nothing to do with the ending. So the ending was, to me, sweet. I do wish there were more opportunity to hear all of GreenDay but that will be on the soundtrack, which I have right here ready to put onto the computer. Like I said, sweet. :-)

Vangie, it's really OK seeing it alone. I went to the midnight screening alone and it was great. Like you no one I know is interested in Twilight or want to see it so I thought it best to go on my own that way I didn't have to worry about their reaction etc etc etc. Of course it's nice if someone will go with you but try not to miss out seeing it on the big screen. Like Robfantastic said an early showing would be good. I understand where you're coming from though, I would come with you but distance is the problem. Go Vangie and enjoy it's for you.

Gozde said...

I was telling the girls beside me when the words started rolling,''Don't go..Kellan said stay after the credits.''
So we waited and nothing..I don't get it. Was he talking about the individual intros or was there supposed
to be more?

Gozde said...

so go alone i did thaton friday on my day off from school and believe me it is so much better that way bc you can feel free to express your emotions without feeling embarassed

Gozde said...

Vangie you shouldn't be on this page, hon! It'll ruin the surprises for you. I hope you'll go if you can even by yourself
if you have to. Believe me it's totally worth it and everyone else there is a fan. It doesn't feel like strangers, you know?

Gozde said...

Yes , my hubby went with me, he held my hands all the way Sonja!!!
I loved every minutes of The movie, I wanted more, I could believe it was over. I just saw there with my husband and when the credit was over, he looked at me and said, honey it's time to go. The crew was ready to clean and we were the only ones left in the theater!!! Rob was so handsome, and sweet, and magnificently charming. My husband said he enjoyed it! can't wait for the DVD!!!! I would love, love to go again, but you know I need someone with me.

Gozde said...

I know what you mean about missing it! It's been like a yearly thing to look forward to when I don't have much else in my life to look forward to. I will miss all the characters. I loved the movie too, it was definitely the most exciting of all of them, I think.

Gozde said...

Love the reinvention. The new name is Fantastic!! Is that a new face I see too?

Gozde said...

I totally understand. Wish we could see it together..I'd hold your hand if you needed me to. He was so sweet to go and maybe later when the crowds thin a little he won't mind going again. My Justin even teared up at the end....It was off the chain it was sooo good!

Gozde said...

It's a little emotional, isn't it? Bill and the cast did an amazing job.

Gozde said...

I so agree...the first sighting of Edward totally lives up to the book...actually I think the introduction of Edward in the movie is better than the book. In the book she just said who's the boy with the reddish brown hair. But the movie built it up with the music, and his entrance was just so epic. I am not like most people who don't like what Catherine did with Twilight. I loved it. I would have liked more of the meadow scene to make it in, but that is my only complaint. And BD2 did not disappoint at all, for me.

Gozde said...

I absolutely loved it! I don't think I breathed from the time Carlisle's head came off until Alice released Aro's hand. Great ending to the series, though Twilight is and will remain my personal favorite. There is just something about the smaller, intimate feel that Twilight has, BD2 is BIG.

Gozde said...

Oooh, little Justin was like every one else in my theater. I did tell my husband I want to go again and he said he will take me after Thanksgiving!
There is so much to talk about, with this movie, but I don't know where to start!!

Gozde said...

Yes ..Justin logged me out (by mistake) while rushing me to get ready to go to the movie on Thursday.
when I tried to comment afterwards it wouldn't let me,so it took me and him untill last night to get me back on by using an old account. so it's an older pic but I figured out how to change my name(duh). So my other profile is retired for now.

Gozde said...

My audience in New York gasped when we saw Carlisle's head in Aro's hand. I know I gasped and my mouth was hanging open so long, it started to hurt when I realized I was gaping! And there was clapping and wooing as well throughout.

Gozde said...

I went by myself. I enjoyed it completely. It didn't matter that I was alone. It was funny, there was an older couple next to me and the wife kept explaining the whole story to her husband. He was clueless. LOL

Gozde said...

I have now seen it 3 times by myself...go alone.I went to the marathon alone and quickly made friends. We discussed each movie during the 20 minute breaks, then there was a 50 minute break before BD2 came on. But the time flew because all 4 of us just chatted away about Rob and twilight ... a GREAT day ! I then went back the next 2 days alone to see it.... the theater was full of us singles there to enjoy the movie . However, i agree, with a reader below ,,,,you should not be here on the spoiler site, really it will spoil the experience for you. Leave now, PLEASE.

Gozde said...

There was suppose to be i thought? I even asked the manager of the movie theater and he was not aware of any such thing. I asked him if they had cut that part out, and he swore they didn't. He said we show what they send us, and then he said, plus we are not allowed to alter the movie in any way. Who knows? More to watch on the DVD!!!

Gozde said...

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the sex scene. I never commented on that...But there was a super quick shot there at the end, and Edward was nekkid! That alone is worth the trip to the theater! We can all pause when the DVD comes out!

Gozde said...

THERE ARE NO WORDS!!!! Except thank you Bill, Stephenie,Robert, Kristen, Taylor, Peter, Jackson, Elizabeth, Ashley, Nickki, Kellen, Wyck, Billy, Boo Boo, Gil..............OK there is no way I can remember everyone.
Thanks for all the joy you have brought into this "seniors" life. I turned 68 on 11/16.
This movie is outstanding!!!!! A perfect ending to a beautiful love story.
The imagination and ingenuity you brought to the big screen is amazing. The audience reaction was heartwarming and thrilling. It has been many years since I have heard people clapping, crying and loud cheering when the "bad guy" get's his!!! (sorry Jane & Aro)
Rob & Kristen & Peter & all the Cullens & Taylor & all the wolf pack & all the new vampire covens...........being the good guys and getting loud cheers for all the good they do against evil...........what a thrill to hear and feel the emotions of everyone watching.............. Also looks like the box office reflecks how we all feel.
I went to "Tent city", the premier movie showing. I came home and even with "jet lag" I attended the "Twilight Midnight Marathon."
I went to the LA "BD2" premier. Hoping to just get a glimpse of these wonderful actors and all involved with this "Twilight Saga." Had one hope, two checks off my "bucket list," that I might be able to get a picture with Robert and slip him a "St.Christopher" medal to keep him safe in all he & Kristen's travels.
Through the grace of God. I got both. Thanks for everything.
FYI: Robert is twice as handsome when you see him. But beyond that, he is kind and caring about his fans. He takes so much time with them. I don't think I have to tell any of his fan's this. Believe me you can be very proud to be a Robert Pattinson fan. He won't disappoint you. : )

Gozde said...

I am so proud of you! Sweet, look at you getting all computer savvy!!! That little Justin is an Angel!! I am still afraid to touch my my face and my name, of fear I am going to mess it up. Lol
After all you need your computer more than ever, with all the wonderful goodies were are getting from The Pretty!!

Gozde said...

I LOVED the movie....but I listen to the soundtrack from BD1 all the time and I just didn't find anything outstanding music-wise on this movie. No particular song "moved " me like sooooo many did with BD1. Honestly, that is my only disappointment ( other than wanting 2 love scenes). Does the CD do it more justice?

Gozde said...

I wish I could've seen the marathon, but it was enough for you to see the one movie in the theater considering your DH might not be willing to set thru all 5. Hey, I just realized the first one ended the same with the individual actors...remember? Bill knew the original was a winner and he utilized what he could from it. I'm so glad he did.

Gozde said...

Great review! I feel just the same. But I wanted to say how much I loved Carlisle iin this film. Peter really stepped up his performance as patriarch, I think. And he made himself so beloved, that his "death" was brutally shocking! Bill did an amazing job with that.

Gozde said...

Believe me it was out of desperation. I don't log out I just close the pages..he didn't know that..but he does now!
I was havin' a fit for two days and then I got real depressed. So glad we finally figured out a solution.

Gozde said...

I so agree with your review. And I was kind of hoping that Aro really would get offed! LOL

Gozde said...

When they showed Carlisle's head in Aro's hand, I was thinking...can't they put him back together and he will be alright? I was trying to thik of a way that it would be alright. I'm such a dork!

Gozde said...

So happy for you, Nana! And Happy belated Birthday!

Gozde said...

I didn't notice! that's right! They should have been sparkling.

Gozde said...

Agree, Bill is an astute guy. He really incorporated parts of all the movies. He showed credit and thank all the other director in his own way and I thought that was awesome of him!! So true about the ending it was brilliantly done, I was especially wondering how he was going to show/capture the part where Bella shows and let Edward into her mind.

Gozde said...

I have seen it 3 times also .....stayed until very end - but no fun bit ! It seems like not all theaters are getting any fun bit , or Kellan talked about a fun bit but there really isn't one. Did you actually talk to someone who saw a "fun bit" ?????!!?? Maybe he was talking about the vampires dance-off....bit it wasn't put on there.

Gozde said...

For the first time in all 5 movies, they put up the cast's names before the movie. The other movies, just the titles come up and the movie starts. The actors, directors and producers don't get shown til the end. I liked that they did that in this final movie.

Gozde said...

Did they sparkle at all in the movie....but then it was winter during most of the movie? Good observation !!!!!!!

Gozde said...

Cool you gave him the medal. He's catholic so he will know what it means. That's a beautiful gesture on your part!

Gozde said...

I am glad you did fix the problem, too babe! You don't want to miss too much, cause it takes days to catch up sometimes.

Gozde said...

Bella did that one time when she walked into the sunlight by herself.

Gozde said...

Yeah no end credit scene in Australia either. Guess we will have to wait for DVD to soak it all it again.

Gozde said...

well, i really love *the forgotten*, Passion Pit * Where I Come
From* and Fiest is pretty cool)

Gozde said...

oh year....sure... there were LOOOTS of hot Edward shots in that scene))))

Gozde said...

I can't wait for all the DVDS and the box set and the this and the that......I am excited.

Gozde said...

See, this is the cinematic experience I want! The Twihards camp days before the premiere and I wish I have such crowd response in Australia. I must admit when Robert came to Sydney I was that close to flying to Sydney just to have a glimpse of him. Yes I know he looks even better in real person but heck! Just have to put it out there so Universe can manifest. Til then, I will I can watch it again soon!

Gozde said...

Sooooooooo agree with you that he'd be great doing a comedy - the timing of his remarks, the way he delivered the lines. his facial and eye expressions, the way he'd turn his head , his whole body language , PLUS we all know he exudes humor !!!!!!!!

Gozde said...

Yea that was very important part but for those who haven't read the books might not even get it. One girl was crying in the restroom afterwards and didn't know that the fight scene is not in the book..but it got her anyway.

Gozde said...

Thanks Christine. Rob & I share that faith. St. Christopher was always a comfort to me growing up. I really do hope he keeps safe in all his travels, especially to Iraq. We all want him to "Be Safe"

Gozde said...

OMG, ladyjane74...........thank you.

Gozde said...

I know! I just hope nothing dissappears before I get to it. I'm so far behind..

Gozde said...

I wish I could see the marathon too. Yes I do Wish we're living close by, we could have gone together. I called all met friends and everyone was busy, and then my husband looked at me and said let's go!!! I was like a kids at Christmas!!! Lol

Gozde said...

Glad to hear you have been to seen it and your DH took you too :)

Gozde said...

I've wanted for so long to see him do comedy LOL I finally feel justified in that opinion :D He was amazing wasn't he??? If he has 3 more announcements please let one of them be a comedy :-)

Gozde said...

Hi Solas! So happy to see you here and love your review and how you always see things from a different angle and open our eyes to it as well. Cheers to you !

Gozde said...

We sat through all the credits.....music score......crew, the lot and nothing. I came to the conclusion that when they said don't leave during the credits they meant the actors names and pictures that had been in all the movies not after the crew and such.

Gozde said...

Wow he's really wonderful for that. You gonna owe him big time..lol!

Gozde said...

Oh Lyn..... He was sweet, he was watching soccer, and he stopped the game and said, lets go!! Gotta tell you, you were right and right about it been good and even better. I enjoyed every tiny details. I so can't wait to see it again!!
The battle scene was freaking good/scary/upsetting and in the end I was finally able to breath!

Gozde said...

Disqus hating on me, so this will be long, since it's the only post I think I can get to work. Skip it if you don't want to read a tome...lol. Saw it 2 x and counting - 10pm Thurs and Sat 9:30pm. Interestingly the theater had way more screen prints than shows listed on fandango, cause they just kept selling out each half hour and then adding another screen (9pm, then added 9:01pm show etc) before selling the next half hour. Was a huge weekend since Bond and Lincoln also were selling out Sat night...although no added screens there.
BO Mojo says Summit estimates $141.3M domestic and $199.6M international. 8th highest domestic weekend opener (Twilight has 7, 8,9 on the list now). Twilight also has top three November weekend domestic openings all time. 8th highest worldwide box office opening weekend all time as well. And Summit/Lionsgate just went over $1B as a company for the first time in a calendar year...also first studio to open two movies in one calendar year opening over $125M. BD 2 did it's job and more. Also exit interviews show 50% viewers were over 25yrs and 50% under. We all knew that, but writer seemed surprised as always. Males were 21% of audience.

Gang of us stayed to watch waiting for the after the credits dance scene on the battle set. Not there. Asked the manager and he said the same. Appears they held that for the DVD or next Christmas' boxed set! No one ever said Summit was shy about liberating us from our wallets on all the merchandise. BTW - there's a good interview with Bill C re how he cut the film together, think I saw it posted on here a bit ago now too. DVD is going to have directors cut of the 1 hr 59 min, with the 2,5 min he took out of the Aro in Paris gathering his witnesses and a few small pieces he chopped. I will buy the DVD just for more ARO...Michael Sheen's giggle laugh in this one was literally my favorite villain laugh ever...creepy, insane and funny at the same time. Love that man. Director's commentary but no cast commentary was recorded that he's aware of.

Also the absolute best example of the Mars VS Venus response to Twilight...interviewer is a male cinephile and he kept saying he liked this one cause "stuff" (and I paraphase there, lol) happens, meaning action and more developed plot, centering not on just the emotional stuff. Bill C, showing why he totally got his fan base, immediately came back and said, funny that's a guy's reaction. Women and girls all say they loved BD1 because in that one so much "stuff" happened...marriage, honeymoon, pregnancy, birth, becoming a vamp. 5 years later and males still just can't wrap their brains around the concept without in some way delegitimizing it. Women may not relate to the straight action flicks to the extent males do, but we get why they are into them and can enjoy them for what they are...still not getting the consideration returned. Been trying to decide what percentage of it's brain hardwiring vs prejudice since I saw that clip and read some online reviews by male reviewers today. Oh, well, thank you Twilight...almost $3B in worldwide box in 4 movies and counting made everyone recognize female spending power, no matter what snide comments come along with it. The women's libber in me will take progress anywhere I can find it. Will miss this crazy ride.

Aaww bless him :) I know I was trying to take in everything but was mainly watching Rob lol I think we definitely need to see it more than once !! The battle scene was so clever and they were right about it being a shock and making everyone gasp ! I was literally saying nooo that's not right and was so relieved at it being Alices vision. Bill and the cast did such a good job :)

Gozde said...

We watched till the end and nothing !!!

Gozde said...

I do, he truly is my best, best friend. Then, he is my husband! Sometime I don't Know why I was so lucky to have find someone like him. He is an angel sent to me by someone!! Sonja, one day I will tell you why I love Rob as much as I do!! In a different post. Love ya.

Gozde said...

Yea that's what I think too.

Gozde said...

Yes, they did a great job!! We are going again after Thanksgiving!
Can you believe it's over? I did get a little emotional sitting in the movie theater after it ended.
I can't wait for 2013, to come!!

Gozde said...

Me you too..cyber hugs!

Gozde said...

I've only seen it the one time (dammit) but am going back in an hour or so to see it a second time. Bill Condon blew my freaking mind with the whole Alice thing and then I was like ... wtf! I totally should have seen that coming! DUH!! Aro's surprised girly shriek/giggle at Renesme's heartbeat was hilarious ... as was Jacob's nervousness at Bella's revelation about the whole imprinting thing. Loved watching her kick his ass and the way Edward and the other Cullens were just gonna sit back and let it unfold! But when it comes right down to it, the sex scenes ... even thought this was a PG13 rating, they were pretty steamy and I think we all know the reason for that. lol The ending? ... ... just WOW!! I gasped, screamed, cried, laughed ... this final film brought out the whole gamut of emotions and for that Bill Condon needs some respectable award on his mantle. Loved the additional credits. They were due. All around ... LOVED IT! I can't wait to see it later this evening ;D

Gozde said...

I loved it...it was amazing, funny, sad, action packed...just epic. The battle scene which I didn't care for that much in the book blew me away on screen (thank you Bill Condon) absolutely...but when Carlisle was killed...then Jasper...I was like...wait a minute that didn't happen in the book and some other things during the battle...next thing you know your brought back and none of that happened...the whole audience just gasped..and it was packed..just everyone was like "your kidding"....but in a good surprised way, The bedroom scene...very nicely done..especially the close ups of Edwards face...loved that part...I just loved all of it...except one teeny weeny thing...I thought Edward was suppose to sing a lullaby to his daughter while playing the piano...I was really looking forward to that bit I so wanted to hear him sing...but anyway all in all the film did not disappoint I absolutely loved it and can not wait for the DVD to come out...the film was truly epic.I will miss these guys as these characters and will miss looking forward to another Twi movie...but, all good things come to an end and this film ended the saga beautifully. The photography the special effects...just amazing.

Gozde said...

Maybe you'll be able to see his new movies at the cinema more easily now. Do you feel that?

Gozde said...

Sonja is that you?? :-) What's with the name change?

Gozde said...

Not really, it hasn't sunk in yet but I'm sure it will eventually :( Glad you're able to go again as you know I'm going again on Tuesday and hopefully at least once more :) Then will seem ages for DVD which i'm expecting march time for us like BD1 !! Then will be a while but lots of Rob in a row :)

Gozde said...

It's a credit to Stephanie Meyer that I am so invested in her wonderful characters that I was totally bereft when first Carlisle and then Jasper were killed. I kid you not, I felt sick with anguish about how the Cullen family would cope without them, after the hundreds of years they had all been together. Esme's look of horror tore my heart in two, it really did. No other books have ever made me feel so emotionally attached .....

Gozde said...

March????!!!!

Gozde said...

I've taken quite a liking to Leicester Square and will happily go there again if that is where his films will be shown LOL

Gozde said...

Yes I looked and my BD1 was despatched on march 7th so expecting similar date :(!!!

Gozde said...

I'm so jealous! I've always thought England is the coolest place ever since the Beatles..No wonder that's where the coolest guy on the planet comes from!

Gozde said...

I just came back from seeing it...and I loved the part when Bella let Edward in her mind and then it showed the special moments in the films, that was very well done and touching....and I absolutely love that bit from the first film when Edward walks into the cafeteria when not only Bella but us as well see Edward for the first time....and it just went from there for all of us I think...including Bella of course :-)

Gozde said...

Oh good god that is so far away!! And it will still be the first thing we can get of Rob ;-( I see lots of reading in my future - which is probably just as well as I have been neglecting my reading lately......I wonder why??? LOL

Gozde said...

Erm.....revise that view please :-) I think the only 'cool guys' must all become famous and not leave any of them walking around for the rest of us LOL
I wonder why English guys have such a reputation?

Gozde said...

Thanks for the info!
My husband was asking me about the box office sum after we left the movie. My husband also said he was expecting to see more teenagers, but to his surprise the crowd was consisted of dates, and women of all ages. We went to the 12:05 after noon showing. And the theater was about 3/4 full. It's amazing how they still don't know who the audience of the twilight movies are yet? I guess now they know, we are not all 13years old, or in our teen years!!
Wow, I am so glad the movie is doing well.

Gozde said...

I know :( We've all been a little distracted but in a good way lol I have been trying to keep up with my reading too at the same time but then I probably have a little more spare time not having a job lol!!!

Gozde said...

It was awesome that's for sure! Did your son like it, too? My grandson did.

Gozde said...

It's her in the flesh or should I say pic/new name.

Gozde said...

<3. Love hugs:). Maria is asking about your name change. You better go explain yourself?

Gozde said...

Lol thats so cute, I would've been giggling or helping her explain lol ;)

Gozde said...

:-)

Gozde said...

I've only managed 15-30 minutes a night if I can stay awake that long. The worst thing is that my job is extremely busy at the moment too - it never rains but it pours !!
I've just noticed on the MIssion:Blacklist site that they have/had a discussion on the book - as in a book club. We should do that here on one of the books on the list. What do you think?

Gozde said...

New name and new avi??? Confusing ;-)

Gozde said...

He sure did! When Aro held up Carlisle's head ... my son jerked back in his seat and yelled out "NOOOO!!!" lol
For a long time, he was the only guy there in a theater full of women ... he was enjoying himself quite a bit ;D

Gozde said...

That's a really good idea especially when things get a bit sparse, will probably have to read it again it been a while !!

Gozde said...

yup. Summit knows and Rob not only knows, he corrects interviewers constantly (did it again at LA premier I think), but the press? Very few pay attention or retain. yeah, I think the original twilight teens kind of grew up and into their 20s, cause let's face it, it's been 8 years since the first book, and at the same time, the twiladies over 25 club (moms or not) just kept growing. There's a whole generation who grew up with Bella Swan, but a whole lot of them are legally allowed to drive, drink and vote now! lol.

Gozde said...

I was in a marathon audience. People screamed, yelled, gasped. It was awesome. My husband is not a Twilight fan and he loved the experience, the movie and the audience. And these were all grown women freaking out. Only a couple of teens. Really amazing and fun!

Gozde said...

Me jealous, but happy for you going so many times though. Did you find that seeing it again made you see little things you may have missed the first time? Did you enjoyed it more the second time, because you were more relaxed?

Gozde said...

There were quite a few guys in ours and I think everyone was amazed. The place was constantly erupting in laughter and cheers and applause and OH NO's, too. T here were squeals for Jacob and loud swoons for Edward...That place was freaking out over Carlisle and Jasper...We were a rowdy bunch!

Gozde said...

Goodness, welll Im a dork too cause I was in the exact frame of mind! Lol! I was so distraught over it I was just thinking omg there has to be a way to bring him back to life. Thought I was going to have a heart attack throughout that whole scene.

Gozde said...

There were twelve screens in this theater and ten of them were showing BD2. It was completely sold out and people were lined up all the way around the building! The place we're going to tonight only has it showing in one theater our of their 8. WreckitRalph is showing in three....wtf?! lol

Gozde said...

Me too...a dork I mean. It was like ''no way this can't be happening!''

Gozde said...

Not been second time yet lol going on Tues but yes I think the first time you are anticipating everything, next time can relax knowing nothing too bad is going to happen plus I have to keep quiet mum and daughter watching it for the first time so will be interesting seeing their reactions lol

Gozde said...

I love the sound of that...Rob in a row..lol

Gozde said...

OK ....deal ;-) When things get sparse we read a Rob book from the list and discuss :-) It's all Rob related after all.

Gozde said...

It does have a certain ring to it especially if you say it out loud ;) !!

Gozde said...

So true Jen! I just saw it and now hearing you recall the movie, I know for sure I have to see it one more time, before it leaves the theater. It was super fantastic, and I love every second/minute of it!! Enjoy!

Gozde said...

Yes and we will all be very well informed when the film is released like we were for Cosmopolis :) The only other film from a book I think is QOTD !!

Gozde said...

It's just too good a movie to see only once while it's on the big screen. And if for whatever reason, they decided to have an annual showing of the Twilight Saga ... a marathon of all 5 movies next year ... count me in! I loved it that much. ;D

Gozde said...

They'll be sorry about that cause they'll be sold out for a looong time I bet. My theater has 16 rooms of various sizes and I was #1(1 of the 4 largest) They were sold out I think. Started seating us at 7:30 and they asked us to move to center seats so others could come in. Packed in like sardines we were.

Gozde said...

ROB-IN-A-ROW..lol

Gozde said...

lol...yeah, and DH is on the couch asleep and I'm wanting to go ...nowwww!!! lol I'm afraid we'll get there and it will be sold out already...I don't think DH realizes the seriousness of the situation here! I'm in panic mode already!! lol

Gozde said...

Dang that's a great idea and I was thinking the same thing and why wouldn't they? We'll always love it!

Gozde said...

;) lol

Gozde said...

There's still money to be made from this ... and even thought people will rush out and buy the DVD ... THEN go out and buy the complete box set of the saga ... if they were to show this on the big screen once a year, you know people are gonna line up to see it again. At least for three or four more years I would think.

Gozde said...

Last year I was reading BD so I waited untill December to see it at my fave theater. Walk in at 2pm on a Saturday..movie been there for 3 weeks already and it was SOLD OUT! Can you believe it!

Gozde said...

welp, to sum it up in one word: WOW. i loved this movie, and i believe by far it's the best one of the whole series (and quite possibly one of the best movies i've ever seen - ever!) i don't think i've ever been so emotionally moved by a movie, but then again i've never been so personally invested in one story in my life. kudos to everyone involved from beginning to end who helped bring the story to life. it was a strange flood of emotions for me at the end of the movie. i felt like i should have been crying, yet my heart was so happy that i couldn't. it was such a perfect ending. the end of the book was great and sweet, but this movie far exceeded my expectations.

let me just share some my favorite moments...

shall we start with the first vampire glimpse at edward?! ohhhh that rob. how could he possibly be any more gorgeous? and then of course the bedroom scene! not nearly long enough. i would have enjoyed another 15-20 minutes of THAT! and then one of the sweetest and most understated moments which actually evoked a physiological reaction in me from my heart to the pit of my stomach and then out to my fingers and toes: when bella and renesmee enter the room, and renesme runs into daddyward's arms. the look in his eyes when he looked at his kid, and then shot the most loving and adoring look at bella. i melted completely. rob is so talented as an actor to be able to give a subtle look of the eye that you can actually FEEL. (also doesn't help that he's the most beautiful thing to grace this earth!) and of course the battle. i was stunned such important characters dropping like flies. my mouth hung open until alice came to (and wasn't THAT a relief!).

And finally, the meadow. this was (i feel) one of the greatest and sweetest parts of the book. when bella pushes her shield away and shares all her thoughts and memories with edward. the movie portrayed this EXACTLY how i envisioned it, only SO much better! what bill did with the actual text of the book flashing across the screen was incredible. i had chills. i was filled to the brim with the sweetest emotions, yet so much sadness. i'm not ready for this thing to be over!! call me a weirdo, but i could live in twilight land forever.... however i am so thankful that this story was told in its beautiful entirety.

THANK YOU ROB for pushing me over the edge into twilight land! you are so talented, and such a gift to us all. i'll follow your career forever <3

Gozde said...

no shit? he's over here snoring like a Kodiak bear ... but I don't wanna miss out on the movie. He can sleep later! lmfao

Gozde said...

ITA..It's loved even more than people realize.
I think down the road it's gonna get a remake but probably shouldn't think about that.

Gozde said...

hahahhaha i laughed so hard at aro's giggle. that was the best.

Gozde said...

WOW! is right!

Gozde said...

No don't think about that !!! remake would not do so well I think with a different cast Rob is Edward Cullen and K is Bella !!

Gozde said...

My husband didn't have the reaction I had when the Carlisle thing happen and then Jasper, and so on...... He was like what?, and I was like don't talk. I was freaking out crying, and cursing the whole Summit lot. Unless one have read the books or have seen the movies and know the Characters, their reaction will not be the same, as ours, it will just be someone dying, not knowing the emotional aspect of the situation. Yet the movie could stand alone, as an individual movie with out really knowing the back story of the characters. My husband did not have the same reaction as I did, but he was like wow he took his head off?

Gozde said...

So true! Don't get your panties in a wad.., They'll have some hi-tech way.. it;ll be them ..only them!

Gozde said...

Do tell us, you should know? Lol

Gozde said...

We got ours at Valentines Day. Sometimes it's good old USA!

Gozde said...

LOL hi tech way !! no need to remake then !!

Gozde said...

I've just looked that up and there are two QOTD on Amazon. I think it's the Janet Wallach one but we would have to be sure. If it's a sparse time do you think the mods here would set it up? Just a thought :-)

Gozde said...

It still surprised me that I was all that tense during that scene even though I knew what was happening...cause we all read the books:-) Very intense and amazing to watch....you couldn´t even get into grieving for all the lost mates cause everything was happening at once and then....boom back to reality.....Loved the movie...so many funny scenes, and romantic ones and of course the meadow at the end ...aaaaawwwww

Gozde said...

For all of so many people's complaints and worse about Melissa Rosenberg, I think this, the wording, dialogue, and shoring up, was far better than the book; the words were right and the resolution was not so contrived. And I loved when Jacob (rather than in the book when there was the sappy 'goodbye, son', etc) asks if he should call Edward 'Dad' and Edward gives him the 'Don't push your luck, buster' look with a definite, No.

Gozde said...

I expect they would just have to email them with idea :)
I looked that up a while ago but wasn't sure which one so didn't download hubby going to get fed up with me filling his kindle with my books lol!!!

Gozde said...

god bless you. what a lovely person you are to offer rob the medal of st. christopher. as a catholic gal myself, i know that would probably mean a lot to him. that's a sweet, sweet gesture. i do pray for rob and the ones he loves the most. i pray for both their safety and their strength. strength to get through each storm life throws them. i also pray for their true happiness, whatever that would mean for them.

Gozde said...

It's amazing isn't it? Now they know.

Gozde said...

I suppose you win some you lose some !! we did get Bel Ami and Comopolis earlier :)

Gozde said...

Wouldn't we love a re-do of Eclipse? That movie was f*d up! If they did it with original cast of course and get it right this time! Let BC and CH work on it..

Gozde said...

Yep!..All is fair in love and ROB!

Gozde said...

Yes I suppose and yes we all know about DS :-/!! but after doing the marathon this week I think I just accepted it for what it was :)

Gozde said...

Thank God for the commentary..that made it worth it..to hear the 2 leads disagreeing with their
own movie was very revealing about DS.

Gozde said...

I am telling you Bill almost f*ing killed me, with that battle scene, not to mention the sex scene. I do agree, must see it again on the movie screen!!!! Will be more relaxed, because I know what's to come!! ! I do believe we will have lots more to see, I get the feeling Summit will milk this one. On another note did you see the preview of the host, before the movie?

Gozde said...

I missed the preview of the host ... last minute pee break! lol We did have KISS doing a Hyundai commercial though...that was weird. :P

Gozde said...

I did but I'm not into it or the zombie-love story one either. Now put Robert Pattinson in it and that's a different story..

Gozde said...

That's the best way to watch is, I couldn't believe it the first time lol

Gozde said...

I wish I did :-)

I think it may be historical........all the suave sophisticated types of years gone by....David Niven, Cary Grant, Laurence Olivier hit at a time when all the Americans were gangsters in the movies !! I sort of see where it comes from as it carries on now with the likes of Hugh Grant........Then you get the lovable wide-boy type of Michael Caine and Jude Law............OK, OK....I don't know what I've talked myself out of or into but I see the attraction LOL but, and I've said this before, we are not surrounded by the movie-star type of English man :-)

Gozde said...

Don't come across any English men like that very often !! Not where I live anyway !!

Gozde said...

Kiss? My husband was like, they are still playing? Then he said, they? playing at a kids B'day party is like stealing money from a church. Lol
The preview for the host was pretty good.
I am going again to see it after Thanksgiving, I can't wait!!

Gozde said...

saw the film twice now, first time with my 2 daughters who incidentally didn't like the film! right i'll get all the negatives out of the way first- didn't enjoy the battle scene, became tedious after a while! Although i was shocked to the core when carlisle got killed. Renesmee, the CGI as a baby too creepy for words! Didn't care much for the newbie vampires! Positives- loved Bella as a vampire, Jacob morphing in front of Charlie-priceless! Cottage sex scene steamy & tastefully done but oh so short! Jacob & his one liners! last & by no means least Edward, he was fantastic, Rob please do comedy! Meadow scene- ooh i turned into a puddle of mush! Montage of the Twilight movies at the end touched on the heart strings. So gonna miss the holi trinity in action!

Gozde said...

Maybe it is time for a kindle of your own?? The new Kindle Fire for Christmas maybe? LOL
OK shall we wait until it is quiet to suggest it?
Or give them advance warning? :-)

Gozde said...

What is that zombi story all about ? Everyone is trying to cashing on the twilight love story? But there is only one Robert Pattinson and Kristen Steward. Their chemistry is unmatched!!!

Gozde said...

With commentary is the ONLY way I can watch it and that's a shame cause I loved the book.
Mostly DH screwed up the love story between E & B which is EVERYTHING..
But it still made $$ so considered a success..,If only they knew how it pissed off the fandom.

Gozde said...

It's ok getting an Ipad for joint xmas bday pressie so can get kindle app lol :)
Maybe advanced warning I'm sure they will remember its going to get quiet pretty soon I think :(

Gozde said...

Do you get the impression, Lyn, that everybody thinks we are surrounded by Greek god type men? Most men I see are very ordinary. I think all the stunners must become actors and singers and sod off to America!! :-) We did see a Jude Law look alike when we were strolling around Leicester Square......but just the one!!!

Gozde said...

Of course there's only one ROB from Barnes like there's only one ELVIS from Mississippi.ONLY ONE!
Good thing we don't mind sharing..lol

Gozde said...

Yeah, Aro's girly squeal was surprising to say the least....I heard someone in the audience say....what the hell?....LOL

Gozde said...

Is your birthday coming up then?
That's a very good idea :-)
I'll get on the book thing then shall I???

Gozde said...

I so agree with you Maria those English actors were, are just have something & now there is ROB in all his charming, witty, silly ,handsome, stunning self He is right up there being a Movie Star.

Gozde said...

Greek God type LOL I wish !!!
Oh I agree they are few and far between lol I also think when it comes to actors they are less worried about how they look ( six pack ) etc. more about the acting maybe

Gozde said...

Totally agree Lyn. No way, at least not in our lifetime. Lol

Gozde said...

You know the saying...the grass is always greener..

Gozde said...

Not till April but it's my half century !! didn't want to wait till then lol
Yes If you like as long as someone emails them lol

Gozde said...

This is very true, sad but true. We were more trying to figure out why people find the Englishmen so attractive as if they all are, which they aren't :-)

Gozde said...

lol..yeah. I get that it was supposed to come off as Aro being frightened of the child and hiding it with laughter ... and I guess that's hard to pull off, but to anyone who hasn't read the book or isn't familiar with Twilight already, they're gonna think that was terrible. Michael Sheen is brilliant actually...this just isn't an easy emotion to pull off I think. But there were several giggles in the theater....mine included. I apologize Mr. Sheen ;D

Gozde said...

Not sure present fans would go see it !!

Gozde said...

I know ..ugly does not discriminate..it's everywhere..(I see my own reflection in my LT...lol)

Gozde said...

ha! so true.

Gozde said...

I also think that Rob is in a league of his own. I'm not saying he ISN'T suave and sophisticated but he is too adorkable to fit that precisely. He is too cute to fit the wide boy image too. He is UNIQUE :-)

Gozde said...

I know true saying!
I don't think we can compare anyone to Rob anyway really whatever nationality !!

Gozde said...

Now ya'll know Hollywood does not have to age if they don't want to..
just like vampires..

Gozde said...

Lol, from what we have seen you do make and transport them well. No complaints here, keep sending them, much appreciated:) going to dinner see you all later!!

Gozde said...

Haha so true :)
But they must have learnt by now that remakes don't do so well !!

Gozde said...

I loved Alice's vision with Jacob and Renesmee and the look on Edward's face because he saw it also.

Gozde said...

If I'll watch him in a r*t movie I'll watch him in anything..and I'm serious about that. R*ts are what I hate most..
Why David why!?

Gozde said...

Possibly that is it....they do seem to refine their roles and it's about the 'art'. Maybe it takes more dedication to move across the 'pond' and become 'somebody' and that is a reflection of their personality and drive. If they can keep their sense of humour and humility on the way they have it all :-)

Gozde said...

actually, that's a great point. but i sooooo hope they'll get together for a commentary on this one (although bill already sort of shot that down - boo) we should petition.

Gozde said...

Agree, I wouldn't. Too soon, far too soon. Rob is Edward and Kristen is Bella. Going to dinner see up you guys later.

Gozde said...

Didnt get preview of the host hmmm....we got a preview of Warm Bodies, which is the zombie one. Completely weird to me, I thought ughh seriously and did anyone else thing the lead girl looked like Kristen a little but with blonde hair????

Gozde said...

ITA they were so funny arguing about when Bella goes with Jacob on his bike lol!!

Gozde said...

ITA!!

Gozde said...

I love the way the credits were run, showing several pictures of the main cast and a picture of all the vampires and wolfpack. Such a tribute to all of them.

Gozde said...

ooh honey I was so scared out of my wits I practically wanted to jump in the air and scream. Out "oh no father"
