James Franco talks Robert Pattinson, working together with mutual friend Harmony Korine and QOTD

James Franco talks Robert Pattinson, working together with mutual friend Harmony Korine and QOTD

It's been a while since we've seen Josh getting the 411 for us regarding a Rob film. He sat down with James Franco at TIFF and chatted a little bit about Queen of the Dessert, how James met Rob and the possibility of them working together with mutual friend, director Harmony Korine. You might recall Rob's praise of Harmony before HERE but here's the except from the interview conducted summer 2012.

Robert Pattinson in Premiere (France) Nov. 2012:
I'm thinking of someone like Harmony Korine, in particular, whom I find particularly brilliant. He showed me his new film this summer, Spring Breakers, which I loved. I wouldn't want to jinx it, but I feel that it can really be a hit. I want to with directors like him, people who have spent their lives refusing to compromise, whatever the cost.

Some of you can't view the video but MTV provided the transcript. Here's the excerpt about Rob and QOTD:
Another rumored project of Franco's is director Werner Herzog's "Queen of the Desert," which centers around the friendship between T.E. Lawrence and Gertrude Bell, and stars Robert Pattinson and, potentially, Nicole Kidman (after Naomi Watts reportedly dropped out).
"I hope. I met with Werner about it. I've known Werner for a while," Franco said. "He's a huge 'Spring Breakers' fan. The talks about that movie really started after he saw 'Spring Breakers' and gave me one of the best phone calls ever. He called me up with Harmony and just was raving about Alien. He said, 'This movie is like the most important movie of the times. When people look back on 2013, they won't look at Obama's re-election speech, they will look to 'Spring Breakers' to tell us about these times, hundreds of years from now."
True Francophiles know the actor has had something of a fascination with Robert Pattinson and "The Twilight Saga" for years, but "Queen of the Desert" wouldn't be his first meeting with the British actor, apparently. "I actually met Robert through Harmony," Franco revealed. "Maybe I'll work with him. It's supposed to happen maybe later this year. I don't think I have any scenes with Pattinson in 'Queen of the Desert.' Harmony wants to work with him. He's a nice guy, so I'd be willing."

Men can't stop talking about Robert Pattinson in new interviews

Robert Pattinson isn't only on the minds of women everywhere. He's also on the minds of men. First up is Ian Somerhalder of Vampire Diaries. He mentioned Rob on the Comic Con red carpet. To be fair, the reporter brought it up. ;)

The Rob mention is right at the beginning.

Ian knows what's up. Next up is Tom Sizemore. Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan) was recently interviewed and Rob popped up in the conversation. Here is the excerpt:
Before you think [Tom] Hardy's an obvious choice for Sizemore's favourite young actor, he throws a curve ball. "I also think that, believe it or not, Robert Pattinson has got a real artistic soul and is going to get better and better." After unanimously enthusing over his sensitive turn in Water for Elephants, Sizemore sensed, "he wants to be great, and I think he will be."
Such kind words. :) Rob does have an artistic soul. Visit the source to read the article in its entirety. The last male to utter the potent Pattinson name was James Franco. He was talking to Playboy magazine about an art project he's working on. I agree with Rob's remark on the project.
PLAYBOY: Participating in the Venice Biennale is by invitation only and a big deal. What are the specifics of your project?

FRANCO: It’s a huge project I’m incredibly honored and proud to be presenting. It’s based on Rebel Without a Cause, and some of the best contemporary artists alive—Paul McCarthy, Douglas Gordon, Ed Ruscha, Aaron Young, Damon McCarthy and Harmony Korine—worked on different sections. I wanted Robert Pattinson to be in the project, but when Harmony contacted him and told him the concept, Rob said, “I don’t get the point,” so that was that.

PLAYBOY: Is it true you wanted to do a Twilight movie?

FRANCO: I had my agent tell [director] Bill Condon that I’d be happy to do anything in Breaking Dawn, but that was because it was supposed to be part of a multimedia project at Yale. I was working with a Yale undergraduate who had written an autobiographical play about putting on a theatrical production of Twilight in which I was a character. So I was interested in Twilight because I was going to be part of that play. I thought what a great connection it would be if I were also involved with the real Twilight.
Yeeeaaaaahh...I have another reason I love Bill. ;)

Thanks for tuning in to this edition of The Pattinson Plug: Name Drop That Man!

James Franco and Reese Witherspoon talk about Robert Pattinson

James Franco mentions our beloved, Robert Pattinson, on Jimmy Kimmel. I had a big crush on Franco in the early 2000s BR (before Rob) and him saying cute things about Rob makes me giddy.

I want them in a movie together. I'm just putting it out there ;)

Good luck at the Oscars, James! Maybe if you can't sing with Rob there, you can attempt to get him to just show up.

And Reese Witherspoon gives Rob and WFE a quick mention in an interview during her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony

I love mentioning Rob on a daily/hourly/by-the-minute basis so I can understand how James and Reese can't help themselves ;)

Would You Trade Robert Pattinson For James Franco? Miranda Cosgrove Did

Would You Trade Robert Pattinson For James Franco? Miranda Cosgrove Did

The young actress and recording artist tells us that there's too much competition for Robert Pattinson. Well that's one less for me to worry about!
