Since Dani's work has a firewall (RUDE! as she would say) I am posting the videos she's sent me. Best partner EVER! Love you Dani!

I just read the Variety review. They were not impressed. They really seemed to harp on the screenplay the most.

Yeah Jov I have read some terrible reviews today but I am trying not to let it affect me. SM does have some cheesy lines in the book I will say but overall her descriptions of the feelings between Bella and Edward and her description of the locations are vital to the book.

The screenwriters interp might have been a little off even if SM approved of it. Those iconic lines are what makes the books. I hope that SM's talent in the books translates to the screen with the script but in the end it wasn't her say so...???? I worry about the hardcore fans and what they will think but we will have to see.

I am trying not to be thwarted by the reviews. And hey 2 hours of Rob...GET OVER IT! That is worth the 10 dollar movie ticket.

Goz is the best ever and I could just kiss her for the kind words and her simply being awesome!

My interpretation of the reviews is "the screenplay sucked and the effects, the emotions were bland".

Stephenie Meyer wrote amazing books, it is normal that the movie doesn't measure up.

And yeah $11 to see Rob for 2 hours is so worth it :-))

Hugs Dani :)

I gotta say I miss Rob's sex hair in the ... uhm ... erect, er uh ... 'ready position' since he got it cut.

Shallow much? *nods * You bet.

I read some of the script and I have to say Melissa Rosenberg or whatever her name is doesn't have SM's touch. I mean she took some of SM's words completely and then others she changed and scenes were described differently, without the same emotion that the book evokes.

SM wrote some awesome books, my fave is New Moon and this Melissa lady better not screw that one up.

I think if anything SM should have been consulted on the script wording more than the content of the script like with the kisses and sexy stuff, but SM could have certainly made it more emotionally charged. I hope for the best regardless.

Still 2 HOURS OF ROB!!!!!!!!!

Goz...love you girl!

Did I read somewhere that they want to leave out the bit about the lion and the lamb and SM turned around and said "you can't do that people have that quote tattooed on their bodies" i mean c'mon that's a famous quote in the book!!

I refuse to read reviews until after I see a film, otherwise, my expectations will change. I tend to be a harsh critic myself, so, it's hard. I remembered seeing Titanic, expecting the acting of The English Patient (the previous year's best pic) and I almost asked for my money back.

Melissa Rosenberg had some big shoes to fill and I am sure that she did the best she could. And, you always have to walk in a teen genre film with different expectations.

I really believe this is going to be a good movie, I just know that what counts is there....I don't trust all the reviewers to 'get' it. I remember reading reviews of Catherine's Dogtown that actually said Heath Ledger was really bad, and his is one of the most incredible & inspired performances ... ever? well, it is a brilliant performance. Rob and Kristen are going to be unique, they stretch the teen vampire genre, and so did Catherine, and some of the reviews will not appreciate that. They just want huge special effects or something.

Oh, I remember the review of Heath Ledger as Skip Engblom and I thought he was brilliant. The Lords Of Dogtown is one of my top ten faves. No, never trust a reviewer, go on instinct!

My favorite station in San Diego (91X) had some ppl that went to the SD premiere and the host of the show said he really enjoyed it. And, this is coming from someone that never read the book.

Instinct!
