"Cronenberg has just finished shooting “Cosmopolis”, based on a novel by Don DeLillo and produced by Paulo Branco. It’s the first time I have a film competing in a festival, not yet in theaters, and another in post production. Whatever happens, I’ll start the editing this summer and next year you’ll see me again in Venice with “Cosmopolis” and Robert Pattinson, one of the most intense actors of this generation. He’ll blow your mind” (n.b. this interview was done before the Variety interview) "

You know how these things go. Elements may be lost in translation. So either take it with a grain of salt or give yourself a headache.

-Where's your house?
"I don't have one. Or rather, I have my parents' house in London, but my room has become a sort of warehouse where I leave the stuff I can't take with me. I can't take too many things, 2-3 bags at most. That's why I always wear the same clothes."

- We will see you in Breaking Dawn part 1 and 2 soon.
"They are the harder movies of the series, and I wonder how they're going to distribute them with a PG 13 rating. There are a lot of sex scenes and so many other things that are not suitable for children" (his look gets mischievous and cheerful)

- How similar are you to Edward?
"We both think sex without love doesn't make sense"

-What if they asked you to keep playing this role?
"That's a closed chapter. I've just finished filming Bel Ami where I play a cynical, seducer, social-climber. Then I will be the main character in David Cronemberg's Cosmopolis. I'll play the role of an American millionaire who, within 24 hours in Manhattan, lives his descent into hell. I still can't believe I'll be working with a director like Cronemberg. And I even wanted to quit acting after Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire! Nobody wanted me, while my band was starting to sign its first contracts and earn some money. Then I got offered the role of Salvador Dalì in Little Ashes. After that movie I realized I really liked acting and put music aside."

- So you won't play a romantic role ever again?
"Never say never. But I need to change a bit, or either the audience and I would get bored eventually." Panic: we're already orphan because of Leonardo Di Caprio, will we be orphan because him as well? It would be a bad piece of news since I'm interviewing the romantic hero Pattinson on the romantic wedding day between William and Kate. I don't even have the time to finish the sentence that he asks "How did the Royal Wedding go? Have they already kissed?" Yes, the kind of kiss you and Kristen shared in public...And there's back his polite and irresistible smile, as he explains "I've been avoiding this topic for years, but I can say I love big love stories"

Thanks a Million to Fritzerina
for translating this for us!

Robert Pattinson, the vampire in the twilight saga, looks tired but has a huge smile on his face because right now he is promoting his new movie "Water For Elephants" and he is ready to talk about everything besides kristen stewart, who everyone claims to be his girlfriend. Everyone but him who doesn't even want to talk about it.

Q: Lets talk about water for elephants,as soon as the movie start, on the screen we see a phrase about your character and the fact that he is still waiting for his life to start, that since that moment nothing important has already happen to him. Have you ever had this same feeling? Moreover for you what really was the turning point in your life?

A: My life already started but i didn't reach the turning point yet. Even if i think i reach the turning point every 2 years. Let me explain..every 2/3 years it feels like my life is moving in fastforward and everytime i find myself thinking: What's going to happen now.

Q: So what is going to happen now?

A: I don't know. I think i'm reaching the end of something

Q: Work or personal life?

A: Both. Work in some kind of way is an influence in private life. It's like every 3 movies something in my life changes.

Q: What would you like to do now?

A: I would like to be able to give something more during the production of a movie. After the Twilight Saga I have another project. Cosmopolis, with director David Cronenberg I believe it's going to be fun and a completely different work from the one on the Twilight Saga. And after Cosmopolis i think i want to start something new. I already have some project in mind.

Q: Are you talking about music? Still thinking about being a musician?

A:Yes even though I haven't played in long time. To be clear I don't play every day anymore. For example recently i was in New Orleans and I played piano with a local band in a pub. It was fun and I asked myself: "Why did i stop to playing the piano?" It was incredible and I had so much fun. However working with music needs a lot of time and to do it i would have to leave everything else, take 6 months off just for playing and learning to play piano and guitar again. But at this time in my career i can't afford to do it.

Robert Pattinson Is Looking For The Quiet Life In Italy's "Style" Magazine

Translation

StyleMag-Italy The April issue of Style - on sale tomorrow with Il Corriere della Sera - is dedicated to the new stars of Hollywood. A generation of actors born in the 80s who stand out for their soft elegance and total secretiveness about their private lives.

The cover is dedicated to Robert Pattinson: the 24 year old British actor who emigrated to Hollywood and gained worldwide fame playing the pale vampire in the Twilight saga.

He now represents a new masculinity that is distant from the machismo of the 80s and in a long interview to Style he declares: “Luxury hotels, hot models and designers buzzing around me? All of them are traps, I want a quiet life.” The actor continues: “I’m not interested in casual relationships, I need to get to know people. I’m not making an existential statement: I just want a family with two or three kids”.

Meanwhile, like his colleagues Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Andrew Garfield and Alexander Fehling, he brought a new, fresh, surprising male identity also to that subculture of fans who, via Facebook, made a star of him.

Translation:

Have you ever seen a soccer fan vampire?

Four bodyguards, a frisk and, obviously, cellphone confiscation. If I had forgotten Robert Pattinson’s every girls in the world’s idol, his security service would had been there to remind me so. Fortunately, he seems less cold and strict than what he’s got around. With Eclipse, he’s in Edward Cullen shoes for the third time. In this next to last movie of the Twilight Saga, we can find as many fights as one could see in a real action movie and new love issues for the female main character: Bella (Kristen Stewart) has to choose between the vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) and the werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Even if in the real life, she knows exactly who to choose: some behind-the-scene rumors have she and Pattinson are dating. Pattinson, anyway, stars surprisingly saying: “It hasn’t been very good, but you’ve got it”

Excuse me, what are you talking about?
Your World Cup Championship’s first match. Italy-Paraguay. You played better than England against USA.

Excuse me, are you a fan?
Yes, Arsenal’s. England always lets me down: every time we think to do big, we fail.

Do you like Capello as a coach?
After the first match, not anymore!

Let’s talk about the movie: this third chapter of the saga is full of action and fights, surprisingly. How has it been?
On the screen they’re great, but when you act they can be boring, especially if there’ll be special effects and lots of technology involved. Everything goes like this: ‘put your arm this way, look up, be tight’. (Kate: Huh?? Be tight? You'll have to show me how that's done)
I missed my previous movie, Remember Me, where I have really fought with two stuntmen who told me where to hit them. It has been an excellent anti-stress exercise. (Kate: Oooh I must try that!)
In the movie we see again the love triangle between you,
