Handbag.com Talk To Robert Pattinson, Emilie DeRavin & Nick Osbourne At The UK "Remember Me" Premiere

Spoiler warning on the video

In Remember Me, Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a troubled 22-year-old who has more family issues than you can shake a stick at. Then he meets Ally, who lives each day to the full since her mother’s murder. But can the tragic circumstances that bought them together keep them there?

“There’s so much more to it than just a love story,” says Robert’s co-star Emilie de Ravin. “It’s about how families and individuals are affected by and react to love and loss and fear and grief, and all of these things.”

After Twilight’s sucess, Robert has his pick of Hollywood’s top roles, so what made him decide to take Remember Me? “It felt very different to anything else was out there, and it felt very real. And I don’t think most films do feel very real in the way that they’re written. So hopefully that comes across,” Robert explained, before adding. “I just really liked the character, I really related to him.”

But what did Robert and Emilie think about working together? “I can’t think of anyone more perfect for the role,” gushed Emilie. “He really was as equally passionate about it as I was and we really did everything we could to develop our roles, and make everything as natural and real as possible.” And Robert was equally as complimentary. “It was really good, she’s really great,” he said, before adding, “Very feisty.”

New Moon & Twilight Heartthrob Robert Pattinson - Aging Well?

Well I think he's aging just fine and I'm not baised at all!(well maybe i am, a bit)
:-)

From National Ledger

British actor Robert Pattinson rules the gossip pages with his 'secret' romance with girlfriend, US actress Kristen Stewart and dominates the box office with hits like New Moon (now on DVD) and Twilight.

But how is he aging? Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith explore it in 'the Hollywood Exclusive writing, "Wonder what "Twilight" heartthrob Robert Pattinson will look like at 93?

So do the casting forces on "Water for Elephants," who've been checking out old guys to play the aged version of Pattinson's character in the big-screen adaptation of the acclaimed Sara Gruen historical novel."

"The story is formed by his reminiscences of dropping out of Cornell veterinary school and joining the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth during the 1930s Great Depression -- encountering a brutal, mentally unbalanced trainer (Christoph Waltz, fresh off his "Inglourious Basterds" Oscar win) and his beautiful, mistreated wife (Reese Witherspoon). Another key bad guy still has to be cast as well. Production's set for May 22."

MSN (Germany) Interview With Robert Pattinson

Our Reader Susanne found this interview on German MSN and translated it for us!

Anemic, always ready to bite - and incredibly sexy. Robert Pattinson
(23) is currently England's hottest Hollywood export. With only one
role, lovestruck vampire Edward, Pattinson advanced to be a worldwide
heartthrob.

An end to the hype? Not in sight. On the contrary: The third part of
the Twilight-Saga, "Eclipse", will stir pubertal fan hormones even
more.

Thankfully, the Londoner has done some other movies in between. One of
them is the romantic drama "Remember Me". Robert is playing messed up
teenager Tyler, whose soul life has been suffering since the divorce of
his parents.
When Tyler falls in love with cool Ally (Emilie de Ravin from "Lost"),
he is enjoying life again. Even when Allys Cop-Daddy opposes him.

MSN: Tyler Hawkins is not only not dead. He is completely different
from Edward Cullen...

RP: Somehow I seem to be only playing freaks, fantasy figures or guys
in costume movies. Tyler was finally just a normal man, not too plain
or simple, but with a multi-faceted personality. That was the main
reason why I wanted to play him. Ultimately, it was easier to play
him. I could finally follow my instincts and improvise. First, I
wanted to orientate the character on my own character. But that was
just too complicated. If I play a vampire like Edward Cullen, I can´t
really improvise.

Interview: Robert Pattinson, actor

By JAMES MOTTRAM
RIGHT now, being Robert Pattinson is a full-time business fraught with danger. The last time I saw him, the British star of the Twilight vampire franchise was in Cannes, surrounded by screaming French fans ready to sink their teeth into his flesh. With the release of Twilight sequel New Moon in November furthering "R-Patz" mania, it's now reached epidemic proportions – fuelled by his relationship with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart.

When we meet in a New York hotel it seems impossible to escape him. Posters cover the subway for his latest film, Remember Me, while shops are full of Pattinson posters, calendars and T-shirts. Meanwhile, the cover of US magazine Details sees him wedged in between a model's legs (a photo shoot that led him in the accompanying interview to say "I'm allergic to vagina" – a quote that will doubtless follow him to his grave). (Kate: I think you could be right about that!) No wonder, with his five-day stubble, unruly sideburns and unkempt James Dean-like mop of hair, he looks a little haggard.

Dressed in black jeans and a forest green puffer jacket, he says much of his day is about maintaining his sanity. "I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to not be seen," he says. "It's kind of annoying but the payoff is infinite.

Robert Pattinson - Movie Star or Teen Idol?

Is Robert Pattinson a Movie Star or Just a Teen Idol?

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland remains queen of the box office, but Robert Pattinson's romantic drama, Remember Me, raked in an underwhelming $3,300,000 on 2,215 screens during its second weekend -- for a paltry total of $13,900,000. Even more shocking is that it came in at number 10 under the practically unheard of Our Family Wedding, which begs the question -- why is one of the hottest male stars raking in forgettable box office numbers? (Kat: Just wondering if they can name a movie of this genre that has done better?)

Granted, $13.9 million isn't the end of the world since Emilie de Ravin's tale about a rebellious young man who meets the love of his life after a family tragedy only had a budget of $16 million -- but it certainly suggests that Robert Pattinson isn't the draw for fans, but the character Edward Cullen is. People fell in love with Cullen while reading Stephanie Meyer's books and then became enamored with Pattinson through the films. Finally, legions of fangirls had their immortal boyfriend personified on screen and the spell seems near impossible to break. Pattinson's young female fan base doesn't really want to see him falling in love with anyone other than Bella and his character Tyler in Remember Me wasn't the hopeless romantic clamoring for his lady love -- in fact, previews for the film looked seriously depressing and far too dreary for the teen crowd that has come to adore him. (Kat: Did they see it or are they basing this only on reviews?)

So, can Robert Pattinson have a successful career after the Twilight series ends? What's the best way for him to transition from Edward to another character? Does he need to choose a completely different role or will that cause his fan base to abandon him entirely? Or is he destined to become this generation's Mark Hamill -- for example, so linked to a single character that no one wants to risk casting him in anything besides movies featuring glittery vampires? (Kat: Only time will tell - but I think a few may be surprised)

Robert Pattinson - Remember Me Update

The weekend numbers are in and considering Remember Me has yet to be released worldwide, it's doing pretty well.

Second weekend and it's hanging in the top ten. Just a few theaters added and still playing with the big one - Alice!

Can I just point out that Repo Men, with all it's hype, had an opening weekend earning $2mil less and with a budget double the size. Just sayin'!

The international numbers for Remember Me are not yet in the running (not sure why) but there are some sneaks of how it's done in other countries it's been released in.

I believe word of mouth is doing it's thing!

Translation: World in numbers ~ REFUSED!

75.000 bloggers were against Robert Pattinson landing the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight - and they started a petition against him. He was not good looking enough. He landed the role anyway and is now considered one of best dressed men (British GQ, 2009) and millions of women around the world are at his feet.

Translation:
Robert Pattinson became worldwide famous with movies Twilight and New Moon, but has other talents beside acting; he is also very musical. His intention is to make an album and publish it this year. He said he wants to stop making movies and concentrate on his music, since he doesn't feel capable enough to do two things at the same time and be good in both.
