"Twilight" Isn't Robert Pattinsons only Starring Role

There's a downside to being an actor who has become an "overnight sensation." It actually didn't happen overnight.

While everyone thinks he suddenly popped up on the scene because of that big hit movie, in reality the actor has probably been toiling quietly away at thankless, underseen, sometimes just plain embarrassing roles waiting for that big break. And, once that big break happens, the folks who own those little-seen before-you-were-famous films are only too happy to cash in.

That's what's happening with Robert Pattinson, best known as vampire heartthrob Edward from the smash hit "Twilight" and the upcoming sequel, "New Moon." "New Moon" doesn't come out until Nov. 20, so DVD companies know Pattinson's fans are getting anxious to see him in action. And they're only too happy to oblige.

Gossip Cop didn’t think it was possible, but one tabloid has managed to stoop even lower when it comes to ”reporting” on Robert Pattinson.

Having already gone after his co-star Kristen Stewart, Famous found so-called “friends” of the “Twilight” star to say the actor is “drinking to excess and indulging in other dangerous behavior.” ”His people are very worried and starting to think he should go to rehab,” the rag quotes a “pal” as saying. The tabloid claims Pattinson parties constantly in a luxury suite with three bars, “which are restocked every day.”

Funny how that absurd OK! magazine piece from “inside” the same suite described a completely different scene and lifestyle.

Maybe because neither magazine is doing anything beyond reckless speculation?

“He loves the dive bar Loose Moose,” a supposed “source” says, “where fights break out in the middle of the day and the nights are wild.” And how does Pattinson emerge from such a cartoonishly described saloon?

“On several occasions his clothes have been stained with puke, and his shirt was once buttoned all weird.”

His shirt was weirdly buttoned? Send him to rehab!!

We love how Famous contends the actor “has been tearing it up in Vancouver and living his celebrity lifestyle to the extreme” when the news from every outlet for months has been that the camera-shy Pattinson works hard, sees a few concerts, stays in his hotel, and is generally low key.

What we don’t love is how every tab and gossip site seems to generate new ridiculous rumors about Pattinson and his “Twilight” colleagues each week.

Gossip Cop has been speaking to people close to “Eclipse” and its stars for three months. No one has ever even hinted at Robert Pattinson drinking too much, let alone staging “a series of out-of-control benders.” We think it’s pretty shameful, even by tabloid standards, to write such nonsense with such weak “evidence.”

The man behind "American Pie" and "About a Boy" wasn't the obvious choice to take on "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," the second book in Stephenie Meyer's blockbuster teen vampire romance series. But Chris Weitz, who also writes and produces, sometimes with his brother Paul, had done a fantasy adaptation in 2007's "The Golden Compass" and felt a connection to the material. On Nov. 20, "Twilight" fans -- and Summit Entertainment, which is releasing the film -- will determine whether he was up to the task.

The Hollywood Reporter: Why did you want to do a "Twilight" movie?

Chris Weitz: The tonality of the movie, which has a lot to do with heartbreak and longing, depression and reunion and ecstasy -- these were emotions that struck a chord in me. I really loved the cast; Kristen (Stewart) and Rob (Pattinson) both are exceptionally talented. And I wanted to get my hand back in the game. There were a lot of things in this movie that I knew how to do: A combination of telling a character-based story but also handling special effects and working with young actors.

France will get to see Robert Pattinsons "Remember Me" First

Le Monde de Francesca tells us that the release date for Remember Me in France is February 10, 2010. Two days earlier than the American date, February 12.

France will also watch New Moon before the rest of the world, except for a few other countries in Europe. The movie will be released there on November 18, 2009.

'New Moon' Star Jackson Rathbone Says Film Has Plenty Of Edward

'Edward is very prominent in the film, especially in Bella's mind,' actor says.

When MTV News recently caught up with "New Moon" star Jackson Rathbone on the set of his new movie "Girlfriend," we had to ask how much we'd be seeing Jasper Hale in the second installment of the "Twilight" saga.

"I only shot for three weeks, and out of those three weeks that I was [in Vancouver] I think I actually filmed four days," Jackson said. "So, I mean, I'm not so much in 'New Moon.' "

Since Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen departs early in the book, he is largely absent, and the rest of the Cullens aren't seen until the end of the story either.

Now, Timbaland wants to give the sexy duo a chance to let their hair down on his next music video — and if anybody can make it happen, it's the Grammy-winning producer and rapper.

"I want certain people in the video," he revealed to us over the weekend at Justin Timberlake's charity concert, talking about "Morning After Dark," the first single off his upcoming album Shock Value 2, and featuring the new artist SoShy. "I want the same characters of 'Twilight,' which I've almost got."

Timbaland has spoken to us before about how Shock Value 2 was influenced by the world of Stephenie Meyer, and that "Morning After Dark" seizes on some of the darker themes in her world. Now he says he's on the verge of getting Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and possibly other "Twilight" stars to appear in the video.

"If I get Bella and Edward, it would be [ideal]," he explained. "I'm gonna give a twist to it, though."

Prince Harry is in the center of attention of British and world press lately. There are two reasons.
Director Peter Kosminsky is preparing to make a movie about the 25 year old prince who is third in the line for the British throne. Movie "The Spare" will be mostly focused on Harry's reaction on his mother, princess Diana's death and his serving in the army in Afghanistan. The rumour is there are two main candidates for his role, Rupert Grint (redheaded Ron from the Harry Potter Movies) and Robert Pattinson (sexy vampire from Twilight).
The second reason are rumours of Harry being together again with his ex girlfriend Chelsy Davy. Since their break up rumours never stopped, but they were first seen together in public, leaving a London night club and acting more than friendly.

Given the increasing Twilight buzz surrounding New Moon star Robert Pattinson, it should come as no surprise to any Twilight Saga fan of Pattinson that the Twilight lead doesn't know how long he wants to be an actor. In a recent Twilight Pattinson interview with Seventeen Magazine (via MTV), that's exactly what Robert Pattinson revealed, stating, "I don't even know if I want to be an actor that long." Also, in relation to future movies beyond Twilight, New Moon, and the Twilight Saga in general, Pattinson admitted, "... if I start doing lame work, I'm not going to stick around and do it!" Interestingly, Robert Pattinson also revealed in the Twilight and New Moon related interview that he felt uncertain about his image from Twilight and that also being on the Twilight soundtrack at the same time made him looked ridiculous.
