Robert Pattinson: 'I'm Really Not That Interesting'

Robert Pattinson: 'I'm Really Not That Interesting'

Self-deprecating British hunk contradicts millions of fans worldwide
By TheImproper.com

Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson is the object of obsession for millions of young fans around the globe, but the modest actor doesn't understand all the hype.

"Honestly, I’m not that interesting," says Rob, 22. In his spare time, he prefers low-key activities to going out. "I watch movies, I read, I play all kinds of music."

Pattinson, who plays the guitar and piano and composes music, has been relaxing in his hometown of London since Dec. 22, where he has been spotted playing small gigs on the local music scene.

In March, Rob's free time will disappear, when he starts shooting New Moon, the sequel to Twilight. New Moon will be filmed in Vancouver and Italy, and will be produced on an aggressive schedule, shooting back-to-back with Eclipse, the third installment in the Twi book series.

Since Twilight morphed into a box-office juggernaut, Rob has become one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood—a role the private British hunk is not altogether comfortable with.

"I’ve been getting recognized since the day I finished shooting [Twilight]," he says. "It’s crazy. In L.A., someone spots me almost every single day." The paparazzi's sudden obsession with Rob is part of the reason he prefers hanging out in London when he's not working. There, Rob is much less of a paparazzi target than in the U.S., where his fan base has grown enormously over the past few months.

"I’ve been uncomfortable in crowds my whole life," he says. "I’ve always felt that everyone is looking at me," he laughs. "I could be in a supermarket and have a full-on panic attack when there’s no one else there. And this was even like five years ago, when nobody knew who I was!"

Hollywood superstardom is something the single Rob will have to get used to for at least the next few years, when the Twilight machine continues to rage on. Meanwhile, the 6'1" heartthrob has other projects he'll be promoting. On March 27, his indie flick Little Ashes (which he did before Twilight) will debut in theaters. In the artsy film, Pattinson portrays the eccentric Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dali--just the kind of meaty role he relishes.

Rob, who is very serious about being a good actor, may one day branch out with his own production company. Pattinson, who has already written several scripts, is leery of the money-obsessed Hollywood film industry.

"I don’t like the way the film industry is," he says. "If you come with a good script and then it goes to the studios and gets financing, it all gets changed because they want to make money. And it’s like, how do you know if it’s going to make money or not? All you’re doing is making it generic when you do that, and making it generic is no guarantee that it’s going to make money, either."

Given Rob's talent and increasing star power, it's foreseeable he may one day be able to make the kinds of films he envisions. "The only way to [do] that is to take risks," he says. "And you need to be able to trust people. So you get a company together with people you know are good and you know work hard and you can make good stuff. That’s kind of what I want to do."

EntertainmentWise.com Talks Hygiene w/ Rob

Robert Pattinson: 'I Have No Sense Of Personal Hygiene'
The actor reveals the truth about what lurks beneath those beanie hats...

Robert Pattinson has tarnished his squeaky clean image by revealing his bad hygiene habits and battle against dandruff.(when the hell did he ever have a "squeeky clean image? Did I miss something?)

The actor says that most days involve a greasy head of hair covered by a beanie hat.
Robert tells Metromix Baltimore, "It's the funniest thing. I just wear a hat a lot. I have so much residue crap in my hair from years and years and years of not washing it and not having any sense of personal hygiene whatsoever.

"Even today, I go into these things where I'm supposed to be this sexy guy or whatever, and I'm literally asking [the studio rep] if I get plumes of dandruff on me, can you just brush it off."

The heartthrob also admits to being far from attractive in his teen years:

"I looked kind of like an old, Irish alcoholic."
(Love this last part...yeah sure ya did Rob)

More candids from Rob's night @ Il Sole

This post is dedicated to the Robalicious Stella-D because she loves Rob's fugly bubble jacket so much.

2 New Twilight Stills - So lovely....

MSN.Com Votes Rob as one of the most fit in Hollywood

Yeah.....ummm okay I had to laugh a little when I saw this. Rob is super buff oh yeah he is just the workout machine with a six pack and biseps for days!
(Enter a truckload of sarcasm here)

Robert Pattinson: Apparently, flying around the forests of Forks, Wash., and hunting Bambi keeps a vampire in -- dare we say it? -- ageless shape. The "Twilight" star has a lot more going for him besides those dreamy eyes: a buff, lithe body. He told Entertainment Weekly that he... more went a bit overboard in preparation for his role as Edward: "I used to go to the gym for about five hours a day but then I started losing so such weight. My head started to look really huge in comparison to the rest of my body." Now he's back to just the right proportions.

Robert Pattinson faces Kristen Stewart

Here's the latest buzz on Regent Releasing's "Little Ashes," Robert Pattinson's new film that opens March 27.

Coincidentally, that's the same day his "Twilight" costar Kristen Stewart's new indie comedy, "Adventureland," opens.

Which movie will you go see first? I think I can guess.

But this really is movie-marketing crossover genius. Now the "Twilight" stars can promote both their new films AND their new joint movie, "New Moon," which they will be shooting.

Ladies and gents, we have a win-win-win situation.

Inside word is there may be only an East Coast "Ashes" premiere, in New York, due to Pattinson's sked.

The "Ashes" press day will definitely be in New York, but no date has been set yet, according to a publicist.

And "Ashes" is also being set to show at the EFM in Berlin by its new international distributor, Regent Worldwide.

However, no talent will be there.

Sorry, Berlin Robert Pattinson fans.

According to Mark Reinhart, Regent's general manager and executive vice president of distribution and acquisition, " 'Little Ashes' story, beauty and the amazing chemistry between Beltrán, Pattinson and McNulty make for an impressive trio that will touch the hearts of audiences around the world."

Move over JT! Robert Pattinson is in town!

Gozde: The above photo was originally Justin Timberlake but photoshop creates wonders and I thought it was a fitting picture for this article :)

The Hollywood Hottie Meter is kicking into overdrive in the wake of rumors that hunky heartthrobs Robert Pattinson, Zac Efron, and Justin Timberlake are each being courted for major roles in Ohio, an upcoming film based on the 1970 murders of anti-Vietnam War protesters at Kent State University.

But if you’re expecting a major Bromance to break out behind the scenes, don’t hold your breath. Star Magazine claims Justin, 28, and former High School Musical star Zac Efron, 21, feel that they are bigger names than big screen newcomer Robert, who skyrocketed to stardom after getting his big break in the hit 2008 vampire epic Twilight. Both Zac and J.T. are unnerved that Rob’s been offered first stab at Ohio’s lead role, according to a squealing tabloid spy.

“Everyone in the industry is shocked that Rob is already getting such big roles,” says an insider.

“Zac and Justin have been working for a lot longer than he has. There is a bit of jealousy there.”

“Zac’s people want him to have the lead. And Justin’s people have asked that he get a lot of screen time.”

Robert Pattinson LOVES his beanie...Well Duh!

At this point in the Twilight pandemonium, Robert Pattinson, 22, has millions of teen girls screaming at just the sight of him.

Therefore, the British actor has got to stay under wraps when in the public eye.

Robert usually maintains a lot of wild, crazy hair, so it’s only natural that he’d need a hat that’s flexible to keep his signature messy locks tucked under.

In a recent interview with fan site Robert Pattinson Online, the actor was asked how long it takes to get his hair perfectly coiffed.

“It’s the funniest thing. I just wear a hat a lot," he says. "I have so much residue crap in my hair from years and years and years of not washing it and not having any sense of personal hygiene whatsoever."

"Even today, I go into these things where I’m supposed to be this sexy guy or whatever, and I’m literally asking [the studio rep] if I get plumes of dandruff on me, can you just brush it off.”

Ewwww! Thanks for sharing. Ironically, those confessions hardly do much to keep the girls away. (Gozde: Yep, we'll ALL volunteer to brush his dandruff off :))

So what did Pattinson learn from not washing his hair for six weeks?

“That it starts to wash itself," Robert says. "If you don’t wash it for six weeks you won’t have to wash it ever again. Until it gets unbearable."(Gozde: I'm pretty sure when you don't wash your hair for six weeks it will stay on your head like someone just licked it on and his hair looks OH so SEXY all the time :)

OK! Magazine Mexico Scans and Translation

Vale at TwilightPoison.com provided the translation and scans for the OK! Magazine (Mexico) You can check out the whole translation HERE at their site but here are some highlights:

How did you prepare for the role of Edward?
I based my performance on James Dean’s Rebel without a cause because I thought it would be fun to have that style for a vampire. I changed a bit my entire body languaged, I ran a lot, I practiced box for two hours a day for two months and I can honestly say I had never been so fit. Oddly enough, I’ve never been good in sports.

How was your relationship with Kristen Stewart?
Kristen in amazing, and your first impulse is to ask her for her phone number. But then I forced myself to remember that 90% of what you do on screen is acting and make things up. I enjoyed the process of creating these characters with her. We would spend all night talking about our scenes and the next day we would defend out points of view. That creative energy made us have a very special bond.

What can you say to parents who see the movie poster in which you’re seducing a young girl?
They should keep in mind that vampires can’t have sex (?). That theme is very important for parents, because in the books there’s an underlying message of abstinence and how important it is. I also think that the character of Bella in kind of a role model because she’s sensitive and passionate. To be honest, the content in Twilight is pretty harmless.

Is it true you hate to change clothes?
Yes, I rarely do it. For this interview I wore this clean pair of jeans, but there have been moments were I can’t even stand my own smell. (Gozde:

Is this a tradition of yours or something?
I just have very few clothes that I like. And I’m always traveling, so I have no time to wash it. It’s pathetic, why am I telling you this?

How can you manage to make your hair stand up like that?
I have it like this since I rolled out of bed. It’s just grease. I just don’t wash it, ever.

Did you go through some sort of trauma while showering when you were a kid?
My dad loved to brush my hair and I hated that. It’s funny how part of my personality has a lot to do with my hair. (Gozde: LMAO! I feel like I should put a "he is kidding!" here just in case :)

Describe your bedroom.
My bedroom in my parents house hasn’t changed much since I was 10. But the room where I sleep right now is very disgusting. Possible not very sanitary. It’s like a bum lives in there. It’s like an animal’s cage.

What to do you do on your time off?
I watch movies, I read, I play all kinds of music. Honestly, I’m not that very interesting.

Are you dating anyone?
No, I’m promoting the movie right now.

Leonardo DiCaprio said he was glad you came along, because now you’ll take his place as the actor adored by teens
Wow! That’s really cool. I didn’t know that. He’s had the best career amongst all the other young actors. I would love to have that kind of career.

In real life, would you stay with a girl to protect her?
If anyone needs me to protect her, I will. But unlike my character, I’m not overprotective at all.

People.com Little Ashes Article

Robert Pattinson Channels Artist Salvador Dalí
Twilight star Robert Pattinson can't always play a vampire heartthrob.
In his next movie, Little Ashes, set in 1922 and described by Variety as an "arty Bohemian romp," the London-born actor, 22, plays Spanish surrealist painter (1904-1989) Salvador Dalí as a young man – in love with the poet Federico GarcÍa Lorca, played by Javier Beltran.

The two meet at university, with Lorca attracted to what the movie's production notes call Dalí's "bizarre blend of shyness and rampant exhibitionism." Hey, beats a bite in the neck.

Little Ashes opens in late March. –

MTV staffer reviews an Edward doll

Here are her Top 5 Reasons to Love this doll:

1.) He looks so stylish wearing Edward’s trademark grey wool coat, dark denim jeans, and t-shirt.

2.) He came with shoes and socks, because we all know vampires and dolls need socks. But would Edward really need socks since he’s “cold” all the time doesn’t really sweat? Point to ponder.

3.) He would never go on a date with Barbie.

4.) He’d totally kick Ken’s ass in a fight.

5.) He resembles Robert Pattinson, and anything that resembles Robert Pattinson is going to be awesome.
